A small, nervous-looking man nervously raises his hand. "I-I can be of some use, maybe..." His reedy voice is barely more than a whisper, and he drops his hand before drawing any undue attention to himself.

Radim Iranon

Langsford here. Got Radim retooled and ready to go.

I'd be game if you're willing to run it. Janasen as well, obviously. As for your actual character, I'm not sure. Personally I don't care if he's DMNPC'd or if he gets called back to his order, thus opening up a slot for another newcomer. I leave the final call up to you, though.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Lovely as rebooting sounds, finding a replacement DM is always a massive pain. I've honestly chalked this game up as dead, but hey. If you can find replacements and such, then Janasen and I are both available.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Yeah, loooks like this is a lost cause.

Oh well, can't win them all. I had a good time while it lasted.

So, considering the lack of a pace recently, should I begin to worry that this game is coming to a rather inglorious end?

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

I know Janasen and I have pretty much... just been waiting for something to happen. This is one of those points where at the moment, neither of us have much of anything to contribute. I just threw up the post to see if that'd inspire anyone else to post. Really, when you're hanging back in the party, there's really not much to say.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

After a time, Radim's panicked shrieking and furious blind swiping at the invisible fires on his arms dininished and ceased. His face now flushed with embarassment from such a scene, he timidly followed the group, this time hanging back and fidgeting with a renewed intensity as he glanced frantically around the forbidding locale.

Radim is going to continue freaking out until the effect either fades or someone manages to intervene.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Tev did not have to wait long for Radim's reaction.

The instant he stepped through the gates, the small man was hit by this wall of... To call it dread was too kind a word. It was as if this wretched place were looming and pressing in on him with enough force and malevolence to crush almost all of the breath from his small frame.

But what caused Radim to emit an ear-splitting shriek and turn to run from the gates was the burning. His skin felt as if it were on fire! As if he could be saved, Radim bolted back away from the gates, swatting and flailing uselessly at his arms in a reflexive attempt to eliminate the burning sensation.

Yeah, sorry to hold things up. Janasen and I are still in the moving process. The big stuff should wind down by Saturday, but until then I am limited to phone posts (and usually those are from work). But the end is nigh! Moving sucks.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

GM:
This is a fear effect? Radim actually has a +7 vs fear, though I doubt a mighty 10 will make much of a difference. Campaign traits, yay! If it still fails, I will have him freak out appropriately.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Radim bit his lip, unwilling to admit that he did not possess the sort of spells that would allow him to do so. He was not surprised to see Tuoni mention being under aagical attack, however. In a place as evil as this, he was not surprised. "I-I think this whole place will be trapped," he mumbled. Or haunted. Same thing, really. Would it really matter which way they took? With a small shrug, he carefully edged past the gate towards Tuoni.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Things seem to be going through a slow patch, so this announcement won't have too huge of an impact on things, but: Janasen and I just bought a place, and the priority over the next few days is to get all our junk moved in. Just wanted to let folks know.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

As was his custom, Radim spent the entirety of his time during the festivities on edge. He would have slipped quietly and without notice, but the crush of the people had forced the little man to be swept up with them into the tavern. He did not partake in the merriment, and when the first opportunity arose, he quietly slipped from the festivities to return to the quiet of the house.

When morning came around, Radim looked nervous. Not just his usual flighty bouts of nervousness, but rather like a man who was about to be marched off to the gallows. He could only nod numbly at Tuoni's question, though it was clear that Harrowstone was one of the last places he wanted to go....

Can't speak for the others, but the scheduling gods have been unkind to me and I have been spending the last few weeks chained at work and destroying myself with flipping between night and day shifts. Needless to say, I've been exhausted and out of the loop on a lot of things. I will try to get something up at some point today.

Still here and interesting in continuing, but Radim is pretty much sitting this round of combat out. Don't feel bad if you skip over him.

Rooted to the spot where he had been since the flames had first appeared, Radim shivers and tries to make sense of what these... things are.

Radim sat quietly through the whole exchange, staring off into space and once again looking as if her was going to be sick. He seemed to only half listen to the conversation, and while he made the rare contribution to the conversation, he did it so quietly that it was doubtful that he was heard. Either way, he seemed too distracted to notice.

Deciding to stay put for now, Radim once again unleashed the searing power of his god.

What little sleep Radim had was fitful and full of nightmares, as it always was. However, malevolent dreams were hardlyout of the ordinary for the little man... Though waking up to screams were certainly new...ish.

With a start, Radim stumbled outside to... Not again. More undead? He was starting to get sick of these shambling horrors. Even the dread at having to invoke his magic was dulled by his annoyance. He fumbled with the cord around his neck, pulling out the eight-pointed star as he stumbled into the fray.

If Radim could be moved to the square in the upper left corner of the lady next to Baris, that would be lovely.

Radim blinked at Janasen and shrugged. Rough nights were common for him.

Radim was slow to emerge that morning, and from the twitchy way in which he moved suggested that he was more strung-out and nervous than he normally was. His night had not gone better than any of the others. After the screaming... well. Sleep had not come to Radim easily, if at all.

He was surprised to see Alyssa's retreating figure as he came down. She was still alive? But he was sure that... Hm.

Shaking off the lingering doubt for the time being, he glanced at the others, waiting for their cue.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Radim shrank in his seat, clearly less than comfortable with the attention focused upon him. "Nothing," he replied hastily... Too hastily to be anything other than an attempt to keep his knowledge secret. "I met her is all."

He was growing tired of this. Nervously he slid from his seat, making his own way to escape the room shortly behind Baris.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Radim, who had been staring intently out the window and had paid little attention to the conversation, started when he realized Janasen had been addressing him. "Wh-" He blinked frantically, glancing at the others. A moment later, he shrugged slightly. "I met one of the council..."

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

At that, Radim heaved a huge sigh, his stance relaxing somewhat. He scowled at the mention of going beck to the others, but nodded in assent after a moment.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

"....Oh." Slowly, the door opened further, and Radim peered out into the hall, glancing both ways suspiciously before stepping out himself. "Right. Yes," he mumbled distractedly. "Should be... Right. Things. Info." he peered suspiciously at Janasen. "Nothing else unusual? Aside from what's been seen."

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

At first Janasen was answered by nothing more than silence. Then, just when one would think that there would be no response, the door cracked open an inch, with Radim peering through the crack with wide eyes. "What?"

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Ah, sorry. Been tied up with things (and enslaved to Age of Wushu. THANKS JANASEN). I will have a post up shortly.

I personally really liked Iron Man 3. I was pleasantly surprised at how MANY Marvel bad-things they managed to throw in the movie, and still keep it well paced and interesting. But that post-credit scene was pure GOLD.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Nah, didn't have any RP plans beyond disposing of the bodies, but that can be steamrolled over.

Even though he was not possessed of the most voracious of appetites, Radim usually at least picked at a small plate of food when he arrived for dinner. Tonight, however, was different. He seemed far more shaken than normal, and his constant fidgeting was almost frantic. Any and all questions were ignored, and similar to Baris he scuttled off to barricade himself in one of the rooms.

Baris:
Radim shrugged at the question. "Have enough money," he mumbled.

DM/Baris:
Sorry for the slow reply. Not in the best of health today.

Radim shrugged, handing the coins and baubles over to Baris. "Take it. I don't need it."

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Radim's only response was a quick shake of his head. "Should move these bodies.." he announced, abruptly changing the subject.

Radim did not immediately answer, as he was glancing about with a furtive terror. "I-i-it's nothing," he finally mumbled. "It's nothing." Still glancing about, he rose to inspect the recently remade dead, inspecting for clues.

Male Human Cleric 1 HP: 11/11, - AC: 16/T: 10/FF: 16 – Perception +3 - Initiative: +0 - F: +4 / R: +0/ W: +5 (+7 vs fear) - CMB: +0 - CMD: 10, Speed: 20

Radim sunk to a sitting position on the cobbled streets, drawing his knees to his chest as Baris skipped and leaped around in joy. He let his forehead rest on his knees, and did not look up until Baris spoke. Hie head jerked up, his features pale. He honestly looked like he was about to throw up.

"H-... Oh." Swallowing hard, the little man drew out his wand. Scuffling into a more comfortable crouch, he tapped Baris with the magic device.

Janasen&Co:
Undead again?! Radim frowned. The undead did not scare him nearly as much as one would think, but...

Mumbling an incoherent apology and prayer, he trudged forward, pulling out an eight-pointed star that had been hidden on a chain beneath his clothing. Holding it aloft, he channeled to smite the undead before him.

Voices? Radim had been loitering on the fringe of the group, but had managed to hear Janasen mutter about the voices. Another one? Was no man in this group sane?

... Best not think about that one too long.

"W-wait..." he called weakly, scuttling after Baris and Janasen. "What was that about voices?"

Guess I need to apologize. I am sorry, really. I did overreact a bit, but having had bad experiences with metagamers in previous tabletop games, I can get overzealous in trying to shut things down quickly. I just don't want a repeat of those incidents.

As for the anyagonistic party, I think its fun! Granted, Radim has run away from my original concept, but having him be mega paranoid has been a blast to play on my end. If he is getting too out of control, let me know and I can try to reign him in.

Sorry, writing long stuff is a habit picked up from freeform RPs. Been trying to keep it in check; guess I've not been doing a good job of it.

"H-Holes?" Radim furrowed his brow at the... unusual question. "Holes are dug? Things hide in them too... sometimes?"

DM:
Radim keeps his holy symbol hidden unless used, though now I recall I only made mention of it in the one fight. Only way his abilities could really have been made known is if Janasen or the sheriff (or Kendra, come to think of it) made mention. Radim's not said anything about himself besides his name. It's not a MAJOR major issue, but I just don't like it when such assumptions and meta knowledge is played, lest it spirals out of control.

Question: how does Baris know Radim has magic/is a cleric? Aside from the one combat (with the only witnesses being Janasen and the sheriff), Radim has made NO indicaton that he has any special talents beyond being super paranoid.

The night was getting worse and worse.

The mystery of the statue seemed to have been somewhat solved (for now), but... The others had certainly done a poor job handling it. Keeping rhe puppet locked in the jail was only a temporary measure, if that. Any magical power strong enough to possess Gibbs would just as easily possess any of the othe villagers, leaving their effort for naught. He did not speak up on the matter, however. He doubted anyone would listen if he did.

The trip to the jail and now the house went as could be expected. Barging in at the middle of the night? Let there be no eldritch abomonations about. The spawn of The Blind Idiot God wass one of the last things Radim ever wanted to encounter again, but... At the rate this night was going...

He hung back from the others as they gathered at Gibbs' home, now clad in a set of ill-fitting armor and clutching a battered old hammer in a white-knuckled grip. With the urging to prepare for a fight, the little man had somehow managed to salvage up at least some form of protection. He waited for the others to act, though now Janasen was fixed with the same suspicious glare normally reserved for the elf and the tiefling both.

Merry?

Radim did not linger throughout the dinner. He merely helped himself to a small plate of food before scuttling off after barely touching what he had acquired.

He was not difficult to find in the study afterwards, being curled up with a book near the fireplace. The offer for alcohol was politely refused (the last thing Radim ever wanted was to have his wits impaired). He did not, surprisingly, scurry off as the others settled in.

His explanation (or rant, if one viewed it in such a manner) was given up again of his distrust of both the elf and the tiefling. When his piece was done and Baris' offer for further inquiry was given up, Radim could only give him an incredulous look. "Ask? They'll deny it." Only the truly depraved or suicidal would ever willingly admit to such accusations.
