Minor spoilers ahead... Do the pc's really need to purchase the medal they get for winning the race? The chronicle sheet lists a price. Is this medal just given to the pc's, or do they have to pay for it (if they want it)? It seems like a let down to have to buy their award medal, and it's definitely not overpowered. Same question for the flashlight. This seems more reasonable to require purchase.
I have a question concerning how much ammunition a weapon magazine holds in Starfinder 2e. A machine gun magazine holds 20 rounds (Core, pg 266). When you upgrade the weapon (to tactical, advanced, etc.) does the magazine hold more rounds? Same question for a laser pistol - it normally holds 10 charges. When you upgrade it to tactical, you can use a tactical battery (which holds 20 charges). Does that mean the laser pistol can now hold 20 charges? If the answer is "no" to question 1 and "yes" to question 2, it seems odd that weapons that use batteries improve their capacity, but projectile weapons do not. If energy weapons do not improve their magazine capacity, what is the point of buying higher level batteries?
On page 91 of the Player Core, it states, "Additionally, when you choose your character's class, they gain an attribute boost to their key Attribute modifier, increasing that attribute modifier by 2." Is this correct? I thought your class increased your key Attribute by +1. I checked the errata for the Player Core, but this was not listed there.

Sorry everyone - I've been checking the recruitment post every few days, but I guess I'm a little late on this one. GM can I play Tarrakk (level 4) for this game (his pbp game just finished yesterday, which is technically after the start of this game) or should I play a different character? I remember the rule that if you have a character in a pbp game, they can't join another game until the first one finishes.

I came to this thread looking for information about this exact question. Had anyone calculated the points of the Primorata? Is it really tier 3 already? If so I'll just keep it at tier 3 instead of advancing it further.

Hello everyone! If there is still an open seat for this game, I would like to join. Luisila said to mention that I was her online friend that she mentioned. I have two characters I could bring. I have a level 6 negative channelling cleric who focuses on throwing fireballs, and who also is good at bluff and diplomacy. I have a level 7 two weapon fighting slayer who is good at finding traps and has a little diplomacy. Which would be better for your current group of characters?
The talking skulls did initially bother the party, but if I recall, Laori didn't kill those people. She was just using them, with her magic, to find Salvatore. "I'm just using forensic necromancy - using these skulls in a good way, to help find Salvatore, so we can save him." In my game, she also told the party that she wanted to save and protect Salvatore, as his paintings had a lot to do with Zon-Kuthon. She talked about Salvatore with respect and near reverence, as if she was a huge fan, and he was important to her religious beliefs.
My players accepted her because they felt like she was being honest with them. She didn't hide the face that she was a follower of Zon-Kuthon. When she talked about ZK, she focused on his aspect of loss. "Everyone experiences loss. By following Zon-Kuthon, I seek to understand loss, and how to best deal with it." Her upbeat demeanor likely added to her appeal, and confused the party a bit. The party also cast divination spells to see if letter her join would help the party. A later part involves needing a follower of ZK to avoid a trap in a tower, so the divination result was positive.
A significant number of events that I have reported (years ago) are now listed as "Not completely reported". I checked these events over, and I can't see any reason that they would not be completely reported. Apparently they were fine when I did the reporting (again, a few years ago), but now they are not. Has anyone else had this happen? What can I do to fix this?
Wow - thanks everyone. Dark Sun has always been my favorite campaign setting, and I am enjoying reading everyone's ideas about how to update it to Pathfinder. I thought about using the old 2E psionic rules and giving everyone the option of adding psionic powers to their class (just the powers and psp). If a character chooses this option they progress on the slow advancement track. Otherwise they use medium level progression. I originally thought that defilers would decrease their advancement track by one level, but I really like the spontaneous metamagic!
Unless it was a unique item, you can just buy it when your prestige is high enough. Even if the item was not crossed off, you would have to spend the gold to purchase the item. Again, unless it was a special item, all crossing it off your chronicle sheet would do is delay the acquisition of them item.
My group had a similar issue. We were running out of scenarios that the group could play. I know that a few people have already mentioned this, but have you tried the APs? It sounds like you have a group of dedicated players, and that's just what you need to play an AP. At first, the players and GM (myself included) only wanted to play APs that gave PFS credit. Eventually we decided that playing the game was what we enjoyed, and that PFS credit wasn't really our biggest concern. We've had a lot of fun with APs that don't give PFS credit. Dedicated players also appreciated that the AP was designed to take their characters to a higher level than regular PFS play (usually around 17). Maybe if you have a group in this situation, try an AP. You'll all still be playing the game you enjoy, just in a slightly different way.
Skull & Shackles spoiler: Good aligned PC: "Captain, we can't kill those men. What if they're not evil?"
As the crew leaves, the captain turns to the not-so-good aligned magus and says, "I need you to get us those ships." Magus, without hesitating says "Aye, aye, captain!"
Wow - Seltyiel is by FAR my favorite character in the card game. He can recharge a spell in his discard pile, which is awesome! Recharged cards help your character last longer. Plus if you are forced to discard some cards, just discard a spell or two, and you have a chance to recharge it. I like the Spellblade role, where he can explore again when he acquires a spell or weapon. I think that Seltyiel is so good, I have trouble playing anyone else!
I let the pc who triggered this trap have the +2 to their ability scores. Realistically you're right - Sorshen would not have a strength of 19. What if the pc who sets off this trap is a barbarian? Do you really want to punish them by setting their strength score to ten? This trap made the whole AP more fun for my players. Lots of role playing from this trap, and lots of encounters later are affected by it.
Essential - the Skull and Shackles adventures. The core rules and bestiaries are online. There are both monster and PC miniatures. In fact, there are miniatures specifically made for Skull and Shackles. You can use something else (dice, etc) but the minis are nice. You might want to pick up a battle mat and some markers to draw maps on.
At first I was resistant to Pathfinder, because I have played D&D for a long time. At a local convention, I played several D&D 4E events, and a few Pathfinder events (just to try it). I found that I enjoyed the Pathfinder games much more. I have ordered the new D&D Player's Handbook. I'm hoping it's good. But it would have to be REALLY good for me to stop playing Pathfinder.
