Welcome to your #8-02 Ward Asunder (tier 3-7) to thank the GMs that have run games for me recently.

The game is scheduled to begin when I am back from hols on about October 25.

If you could please take a moment to complete your details in the spreadsheet at the top of the page, that would help me out.

Any questions, just let me know!

Female Human Pathfinder Society GM Thistletop Combat Map

Hello!

So tell me what the sub-tiers are? Looking at what Shifty-san wants to play, my options are probably limited to Kishara. She is my half-elf two weapon Rogue, currently level 6. I'll have to level her to get her ready though.

Firstly… QUIT POKING ME, SHIFTY! ☺

(Sydney-siders are sooooo pushy! It's all that traffic ;)

Welcome, bluedove. You have the choice of sub-tier 3-4 or 6-7. I don’t have a preference, but Pitbull seems to have set the bar high!

Game won't start until Oct 25, so there's plenty of time to level her and what-not.

I fly out to Queensland tomorrow though for two weeks in the bush.

Greetings everyone! I have several characters that I could play. I have a sorcerer 3, a gunslinger 3, a cleric 5 (negative channeler) and a slayer 6. If we play high tier I would likely play the slayer or the cleric.

Hi PAZ! I have prepped the game and it reads very well. I am looking forward to running it for you all.

@Shifty, watch out for echidnas! Man, those things are scarier than drop-bears.

Scarab Sages

Thanks for the invite.

From the top of my head I have:

A pyromanic druid lvl 7
A non mounted walking armor tank lvl 6 or 7 cavalier/hellknight
A lvl 7 cleric
I have an bomb throwing alchemist which I haven't played in a year which I think is around 7 a well
A lvl 6 shaman who never it past the emerald spire and is stuck in pc limo for like a year
A lvl 5 dwarven fighter/barbarian
A lvl 3 lifeschool necromaner wizard
or a lvl 3 pretty generic cleric which I only have because I used him to give lower lvl parties a healer when needed

soooo, not sure what the party would need/want..but I have some options

Revvy, if you could play someone who can heal that would be awesome! My first choice is my slayer 6, but I don't want the party to be without healing. You clearly have more characters in range than I do!

@Revvy, you are welcome and I agree it has been far too long since we have gamed!

Hey guys! Sorry, but I think I'm going to have to pass on this game. Thanks for the invite but this fall has turned out to be incredibly busy for me and I'm having trouble keeping up with the games I already have going. Also, I will be traveling a lot from November-February once on vacation and several times to tend our lab's winter field down in Florida and I think that will only make things harder for me.

Thanks again for inviting me and good luck! Happy roleplaying!

Thanks to a rather rapid reset by Ms Chris Lambertz, gameplay is now open for dotage.

Yessir! I’d love to have you play. The game does not officially start until October 25, but I have opened up game play for dottage and party introductions.

Looks like we’ll be playing at high sub-tier 6-7.

Sounds good to me! Poor Kish has a rather reckless strategy that leads to her landing on her ass more often than not. Shifty can attest! XD

I have not played Tapestry's Toil with any character. Does that change the intro any? Seems a bit different than most...

Lol and welcome to one of my games, bd! ;)

The actual scenario-content doesn’t start until Oct 25, so think of this as Dotting and/or pre-briefing banter that everyone is welcome to participate in (or not! ☺) to introduce characters etc.

The kind of stuff you might do before the VC makes an appearance in a scenario whose GM might have a different style to mine.

There is a minor thread linking this scenario and Tapestry's Toil, which has NO mechanical effect on Ward Asunder and shouldn’t impact your enjoyment (or not!) of either scenario.

Awww … just look at you all!

So cute, with your bright eyes and waggy tails. All keen to led to the slaugh… First Act!

☠☠☠☠

Although some of you have played in my games before, a couple of reminders about the way I roll:

• Please make it obvious what buffs you have active and what your AC is.
• I will roll group initiative and track actions in ‘block’ order. In the example below, the PCs highlighted in bold text on the Line 1 ‘block’ can post actions in any order and I will adjudicate those actions in the order they were posted.
You can delay to a later position anywhere in the initiative order, as normal. As the turn for each PC’s block comes up, I will bold that block and invite those PCs to post their actions.

Initiative Round #1 (not secret):

Dusk Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Hailey Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Harmonius Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Kishara Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Pitbull + Asbo Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Salouris Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Bad Guy Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

1. Kish, Salouris, Pitbull + Asbo
2. Baron Jaquo Dalsine
3. Dusk, Harmonius, Hailey

Kish, Salouris, Pitbull & Asbo go first!

• Ideally, I would like to make one Initiative roll for Pitbull and Asbo to keep them together and the game moving. @Shifty, are you OK with me averaging Pitbull and Asbo’s Initiative modifiers (to +4)? If not, can you please suggest an alternative method? I will roll any passive Perception checks for Pitbull and Asbo individually.
• Miss is always low if a miss chance applies. For example, if there is a 50% miss chance on a melee attack, a result of 1-50 on d100 is a miss.
• I generally allow PCs to roll their own saving throws, AoOs etc. However …
• I believe most of us enjoy a fast-paced scenario, which still allows plenty of time for roleplay. If you do not post an action in combat within 24 hours from when I invite you to post, I reserve the right to take actions for your character.
• If I make a mistake on the current round, please let me know and I will try to make it right.
• Any questions, please let me know in Discussion or via PM

⌛⌚⌛⌚

I am ready to start the game on Tuesday as advertised (PS: Tuesday starts in a few hours for me : Þ

Once I have my next post up in Gameplay, I will PM everyone to let you know that the game has (re-)started.

Let’s rock this, fellow GMs and thank-you for running for me!

VC - Sydney, Australia

So just whilst I think of it...

Pitbull and Asbo are usually up front scouting, or frontline at the least.

They BOTH have the scent ability and blind fighting, so are hard to sneak up on undetected.

Both have favoured terrain-urban, both have favoured enemy-human (includes half elves and halforcs)

Asbo always acts in a surprise round.
Asbo is an Owlbear, hence will probably move up on a threat rapidly. Pitbull can always call off the attack Owlbear... sometimes even before something bad happens.

Usual tactic of Pitbull and Asbo is for Asbo to position then Pitbull position and they both use Outflank. Priority targets are humans, especially lightly armoured ones.

Silver Crusade

Male NG Snowcaster elf | Slayer 7 |Hp: 67/67 | AC 23 | F +8 | R +11 | W +6 | Init +6 | Perception +22 | SM +12

Since we're talking about strategy.... Dusk can sneak attack and two weapon fight, but he needs a flanker (possibly a large owl Bear?) Combine that with piranha strike and favored target and he can do decent damage. Spells like bless that add to attack rolls help him greatly.

Silver Crusade

Texas here, so that would be y'all here. ^_~

Kish here is also a TWF and an acrobat. We can be flanking partners. Maybe take turns on who has to flip and tumble through the enemy line. ^_^

And now I HAVE to go make final decisions and level up! *cries*

Salouris is not so much a fan of flanking, more buffing his allies' wepaons and sizes as they rush in or casting spells from a distance.

He can however create lovely and expendable flanking buddies form the earth, assuming none of you have too many qualms about getting brief assitance from the undead (don't worry, strictly a temporary affair. Their souls go back to ebing fine in an hour, tops.)

He can also create a flying long range invisible sensor for scouting if there's a particular location we'd like to scope out before getting too close too.

Harmonious walks, talks and swashbuckles.

Bard, Swashbuckler, Ranger. He dances around the battlefield with his selfish inspire courage--his IC only affects himself unfortunately--however he is always will to throw our a gallant or timely inspiration to aid his allies attacks.

He can flank but often times he prefers running around the battlefield getting into trouble wherever he can.

Ok, all updated now! Sorry for my delay, I am having a busy week IRL.

Kishara purchased the following:
Adamantine Shortsword +1 5010 gp
Amulet of Nat Armor 2000 gp
Wrist Sheath (Spring-loaded) 5 gp
Ghost Salt 200 gp
Masterwork Cestus 305 gp

Wand of Expeditious Retreat 2 pp

She will use the loan of climbing kit and already has cold-weather duds if needed also has 50 ft of rope as well.

As for marching order, she would prefer to be near the front to keep an eye out for traps. =)

No worries, Kishara! Hope it's good busy :)

Just a reminder that with:

Dusk 6
Hailey 7
Harmonius 7
Kishara 6
Pitbull 7
Salouris 7

Our APL is: 6 + 7 + 7 + 6 + 7 + 7 = 40 / 6 = 6.67

The closest whole number to 6.67 is 7, so we are playing high tier with no adjustment.

Pretty much.

Harmonius is currently the only injured party member.

There are three apparent routes to take to get where he is.

1. Climb 40' straight up the cliff, from your position to the blue and green snake level.

2. Follow in Harmonius' jump-steps across the ledges and up the steps. Note, the red snake is presently blocking this path.

3. Fly

I had the same thoughts you did, Pitbull. That’s why I thought it was a Knowledge (planes) to identify.

Unfortunately, its full scenario stats lists it as a medium animal, and the fiendish creature template does not appear to change its type.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I suspected it would probably be the case,as Fiendish templates don't alter ones alignment or type, but I wasn't unsure if the scenario might have something in there that wasn't necessarily apparent - and there might have thus been more to them.

So yeah I concur, a templated animal is still just an animal.

:)

@Pitbull, I was slightly confused about whether you wanted to go north or south.

You first posted south (and that’s the direction of the arrow on the map) so I decided to go with that.
