I'll eventually be returning, once work settles the f@+@ down. Makes me want to tear my hair out right now.

I've been lurking, trying to get back into the swing of things, but work and health have been crazy. Of course, there will be just a wee bit of change in the ol' boy.

Olhas keeps his eyes open as well and helps look over the Altar as well, wondering what strangeness this would be.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

"Yeah, I'd much prefer NOT to have to become sahaguin feed."

Priceless!

Glad to be in a better mood. I'm gonna send you a pm in just a couple with a question or two.

Cause if they footed around, then THAT'd be suspicious. ;)

Alright, folks. Sad as it is, I've spoken to brvheart, and I have an announcement to make. I'm sure some of you have seen it coming. Some of you may have expected it. But here goes...

Because of my health issues, playing Obi has lost its fun, and that's the worst thing for me. Playing a crazy takes so much to really be great, and I just don't have the creativity necessary.

So, for now, Obi is temporarily retired from this game.

Obi doesn't need a horse. Just some conveniently placed ropes.

Umm...we could always put Obi in as figurehead of the bar. I'm sure things would be perfectly safe.

NPC me, as today is a very rough day.

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

While everyone is busily preparing, Obi is going to cast Mage Armor and draw his rapier.

Not a clue since I wasn't coughing up anything brown or green (so no pneumonia). They're gonna try again in 2 weeks with the breathing test to see if its like asthma or something.

Obi walks over to Wexley and whispers conspiratorially to him. "You're right. I mean, have you seen his mask yet? Big pointy teeth and tattoos! Just not someone you can take to nice places." He grins, motioning in Sandman's direction. "But I assure you, he's perfectly harmless."

I hope so too. I definitely hope so.

Obi puts a finger to his lips. "If he stays all sneakified, then he won't be found. Because nobody is going to expect it. But...it might be safer if he headed back, because then someone could make sure he stays safe."

As he walks around in a circle, trying to think, he ponders. "But we can't wait much longer. We need to head up the coast and get ourselves some......"

He turns from the group and then tries to look extremely scary and fearsome when he turns around."sharkbait, ooh ah ah!"

Well, good news! It's NOT a heart attack. They sent me home, but told me to go right to my general practitioner. They did a breathing test and APPARENTLY my airways are restricted (I was wheezing), so they did a breathing test.

...And I failed it horribly. Good news is they gave me a breathing treatment in the office and tested again. Still failed, but my lung function was double what it had been before.

So I'm on an inhaler for two weeks, at which point I go back to the doctor, and they do another breathing test to see. They also told me I'm off work until Sunday, and that I'm required to take it easy at work, for the next two weeks.

So that's a plus. But yep, so I'm alive!

In the hospital right now. Not sure what's going on but no posting until I'm out.

Probably going to be out a few days, as I seem to be coming down with something...ick..

Religion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Obi looks towards the trail and stoops low, looking at it and then looking to the group. "It looks like..." the strange man vocalizes the over dramatic, going to commercial music. "a trail of blood, from the water, leading to the huts."

He seems to have ignored Wexley entirely in his focused zeal of the situation.

Obi tilts his head, it almost resting entirely on his shoulder. "Ooh! I told you mine wasn't the only one out there!" His grin becomes almost across his entire face as he walks over to the other individual, staring at the piece of scrimshaw going through the man's nose and almost putting his nose to the other man if he doesn't step back.

The highly tattooed colonial smirks and tilts his head swiftly to the other shoulder and then back upright as he turns to his fellow companions and walks back, confidently nodding and announcing clearly. "This man....has scrimshaw work in his nose."

He seems quite confident in this, as though these are valid representations of his vast, overwhelming intelligence.

We've also been doing well in using odd spells to make our escape out of sticky situations

Dear gods is Obi chaotic!

I definitely am. Life has been hitting a bit hard, but I'm in for the duration.

Indeed. Can't say much that hasn't already been said, but definitely prayers and candles will be lit for you both.

I'm very interested in seeing what the total for Obi is.

I'm probably not gonna be posting today, on any game. Pain levels are really high today and I've got a long ass work shift.

*nods* Yep, I'm quite a ways behind. But I'll get there, eventually.

Crazy man is good with bluff! ;)

See previous post of escaping along the docks using ropes from above, since that didn't happen before combat started.

Oops. I missed initiative!

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Yeah...I have to say, I wish that Obi was not so crazy sometimes, because I don't always agree with what he'd do. But, sometimes your character makes crazy decisions. Probably, had I gotten around to the posting earlier (and of course, checking the thread), he might not have done it. But yeah, it is amusing what hijinks ensue with Obi.

Obi's use of the fortune hex will be to bravely run away, away! And that will likely be using a combination of retreating and using Acrobatics, since the docks have plenty of ropes around.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

First roll looks great.

Did someone call for Chaotic?

The quiet Obi suddenly grins and tips his hat to the fighting man, his fingertips beginning to sparkle a multi-colored hue.

Not sure the correct term, but Obi is basically looking for an opening, so he can Color Spray the group of dragoons.

Obi decides he will try to schmooze as well, and show his equally savage friend how its really done.
"But you mustn't forget to tell all the wonderful parts too." Obi stays away from gorey but makes it as heroic sounding as Obi truly believes it to be, congratulating folks he believes would have had a hand in the proper training or whose command the people were under.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Obi will look to see who all is armed at this particular dinner, as well as what topics are seemingly taboo or less than favored, for the various ones at the table.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

And Obi is blind!

I'm back.

Alrighty, folks, I'm going to take a small break from everything online until Monday, just to get myself back in balance. Stuff has been a bit rough, as some of you know, in my RL. DMPC me as need be, and hopefully I'll come back refreshed and completely regrouped.

I may need you to, while I get everything back together.

So, wanted to update everyone. I just hired a lawyer for the upcoming divorce and spent all of today getting a separate checking account set up. Now...well, I have to get the other account closed and get my direct deposit set up on this new account. After 4 hours of real sleep, I started the day and now I'm 2 hours into my shift until midnight EST.

Oh joys....

But at least it'll be over soon.

Sorry, folks. I've just had a rough time, as of recent (both in health and my home life) that's left me a bit...well, as my dad says, I'm "discombobulated."

I just had to pull an emergency 14 hour shift (my shift plus the shift of a co-worker who is in the hospital from a sickle cell attack) and am heading straight for bed. Just wanted to update you all. I'll try posting before work tomorrow.

Obi raises his hand and almost bounces like an overexcited child. "Ooh! Ooh! I know! Um...yes, err, a distraction! Yes, a distraction will work nicely." The wild man seems to be bouncing between scholarly and just plain hyperactive.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm back, and I'm working on catching back up.

Obi'll give it a shot!

Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

I don't think it's your fault. I know I've just been working insane hours, because the number of people at my work just got cut in half, so we've got the same amount of work to do, but with half the people.

Obi is agreeing to this plan. :P At least until a polymorphed Tulitan druid "bug" tells him not to, or he finds some other equally insane idea.

Agreed! A solid, non-insane plan.

Obi grins. "Ooh! Ooh! We can hang him up over a barrel of starving rats by his toes! That'll help!" At which point, Obi begins to ramble on and on about random ways to get people talking.

But regardless, he tends to get himself back in order and wipes off his hands, before posing heroically. "Onwards, then! To the Quell...cave, temple, thing?!"

Obi follows the fickle winds of fleeting sanity. And the random moth, butterfly, or bug. Lol Or the pastry vendor. Or a poorly guarded rum barrel.
