Nivik is clearly taken aback by the reaction of his companions. No insult was intended, I just dislike pain. My apologies for being so... harsh. I'll manage. Nivik is suddenly thankful that no one seemed to mentioned the lack of potency his latest Magic Missile spells have unleashed of late.

Nivik ought to be alright to go with less than full HP as he usually stays out of harm's way.

Nivik clears his head and winces as Milton lurches his body to an upright position. Careful! That weak excuse of a spell of yours didn't close the wounds! Nivik suddenly recalls the fact that he doesn't seem to have a wand of his own for healing. Which is really strange but I don't see one listed on Nivik anywhere.

Nivik will use his Pearl of Power to recall Shocking Grasp.

Nivik realizes that his metamagic rod is now out of its daily allotment of tricks. He boldly steps forward and tries to electrify the enemy instead! And no, I don't remember if it'll work on these guys or not but I'm running out of spells anyway.

Nivik repeats the process of trying to freeze the drake DC 19: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10 and then decides to reserve his spell resources and fetches his Wand of Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

I'm sure its some sort of self-effacing bias but I swear that over all of the years I've played this game my average MM damage is under 2.5 per dart. Its uncanny how often I roll a 1 on that dastardly d4 damage roll, especially with a wand.

Nivik then decides to see what a cold Fireball, with spell specialization, DC 20 Reflex for half: 6d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 4, 6, 4) + (3, 2) = 29 does, centering it so that it only hits the enemies! I should be able to do that, it seems.

I'll just go with the Cold LEMR since I am predominately fire already. Excellent idea about the mask though, I never knew of that one.

Actually no, I don't. The metamagic stuff I really haven't gotten into much at all. I have about 8k in gold so I guess I can get at least one Lesser Elemental one, perhaps in acid and/or lightning. I'll take suggestions.

Since we are not suppose to "win" the fight a retreat is definitely appropriate for the villains, wouldn't you say? Of course, being grabbed makes a retreat difficult...
