    So, I was just looking back through the combat, and I realize that I have NOT been adding the extra 1d6 for non-lethal. So, it looks as if all the damage (from this skirmish at least) had been killing damage. Sorry bad guys, it was an accident).

    As the salamander falls to his arrow storm, Awen looks over his shoulder to see Milton on his feet. Relieved, he turns his attention back to Grog and falls to his knees beside the owlbear. With a curse, he drops into a spellcasting trance muttering prayers to Erastil for healing. Suddenly a golden glow surrounds the pair and Awens head droops in relief as the owlbears wounds knit shut and the beast draws in a ragged breath. He takes out his wand and taps Grog twice with it, hoping it would be enough.

He begins giving first aid to help staunch the wounds before pulling out his wand to help the tengu back to consciousness.

    Seeing that Ka Kaw was being administered to, Milton walks to Nivik, bends down, and lays a hand across the elf's brow and casts stabilize. "May the blessings of Asmodeus, Lord of Contracts, be upon you and heal you, so that you may rise up and serve his cause."

    He then casts cure serious wounds.

    As Nivik comes to consciousness, Milton grasps the elf by the arm and yanks him to his feet, "Come elf, Asmodeus still has need of your services. This is no time to be resting."

    Nivik clears his head and winces as Milton lurches his body to an upright position. Careful! That weak excuse of a spell of yours didn't close the wounds! Nivik suddenly recalls the fact that he doesn't seem to have a wand of his own for healing. Which is really strange but I don't see one listed on Nivik anywhere.

    Nivik will use his Pearl of Power to recall Shocking Grasp.

    Milton hears Nivik's ungrateful and disrespectful words. He replaces his wand back in his belt where his tail can reach it, turns and goes to ensure there are no further threats to the party.

    For the record, KaKaw could die before you get to him. Best to stabilize everyone first, then heal. ;)

    Nearly an unmitigated disaster. Time to see if anything is salvageable. Perhaps this would be a better placement for our incriminating evidence.

    Xojjet has a magic axe with some strange purple crystals* on its blade. He also wears a fancy gorget around his invisible neck. It matches the description given Milton of the Cinderfury gorget.

    I think he has a magic cloak as well, and there might be something in the room, but I will not get a chance to check the PDF for a bit. Please carry on. :) Yes this would be a great place to add the rest of the evidence. No the jawbone is not in this room. What is next?

    Once the group is ready to move on, she suggests, "The primary goals of our mission are complete and we can leave soon. We still have a jawbone to find and a few rooms to check through. Make sure you are ready for further combat before we set out, just in case there are others hiding in the remaining rooms." She holds her wand of shield in her left hand and checks to make sure her wand of cure light wounds is safely in the spring loaded wrist sheath on her right.

    I suggest we continue counter clockwise from the office, letting Fendel lead to check for traps/listen for movement on the other side. Once we know a door is safe, Sai will open it and head in first.

    @Milton The GM suggested that Awen stabilize his pet first instead of healing it so he could make it to KaKaw before he died. Everything else's stayed the same, so I just made my post keeping in one with that. The group has healed as much as has been recorded so far and that at least has the group up, if not fully healed.

    Seeing the group is still not fully healed, Sai walks back to Nivik and says, "You are very foolish. You have been healed enough to walk, yes? Good. We wouldn't want to insult you with any more of our weak healing spells." and she promptly turns to face Milton, "Thank you for your efforts."

    She then heads to KaKaw and offers to complete his healing. "Awen did most of the work, but allow my wand to do the rest." She activates the magic and KaKaw's wounds disappear.

    CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 That should be enough to fully heal KaKaw. Only Nivik needs further healing.

    Sai then takes off her mask and hangs it on her belt hook, before looking over to Nivik.

    "Are you ready to move out yet?" she says with cold detachment.

    Nivik is clearly taken aback by the reaction of his companions. No insult was intended, I just dislike pain. My apologies for being so... harsh. I'll manage. Nivik is suddenly thankful that no one seemed to mentioned the lack of potency his latest Magic Missile spells have unleashed of late.

    Nivik ought to be alright to go with less than full HP as he usually stays out of harm's way.

    Hey! I clearly offered up my healing services to the group. At the time, I believed Awen had handled Ka Kaw, so I went for Nivik. I'd have finished Nivik, if, well, we know how that ended. Also, so everyone knows, I'm not remotely offended. Only Milton was.

    No worries Milton. We know that. It's just role play. Same with Sai. I really wanted to heal Nivik to full, but Sai... Let's just say she wasn't in the same frame of mind .

    "Of course Nivik. As long as we understand each other, allow me to finish closing your wounds and healing the bruised bones that Milton was so kind as to begin doing." comes her dispassionate reply.

    She again takes out her wand and activates the magic it holds, this time directing the healing energy into Nivik with a forcefull, if not damaging, tap to his brow.

    Sai will double check Xojjet, Craterflame and the salamander guard for signs of life if no one else has. It seems as if Fendel had that covered when he searched Xojjet, but this is a just in case.

    If they still live she mentions it to the others of her team, but she makes no efforts to heal or stabilize those she considers the opposition.

    Should Sai's checking of the various critters and their life signs shows any have survived our ministrations, Milton has a special spell ready for such emergencies, bleed, with a DC 14. He can cast it as many times as required.

    GM and All: Yes, you were right. Awen should have and would have tended the wounded with a quick tap first, then proceeded to triage and heal where needed. That was my bad for assuming a more lax timeframe than permitted.

    Awen moves through the room, helping with binding wounds and then with searching the dead and planting the evidence. He moves to the front with Fendel as they begin to search the rest of the rooms.

    Xojject carries a Large +1 spell-storing battleaxe* whose edge is encrusted with a thin layer of curious green crystals. Your experts on planar knowledge identify these crystals as an uncommon growth that sometimes forms from dried shaitan blood. He is also wearing bonebreaker bracers made of steel and studded with tiny garnets that seem to map the constellations in an unfamiliar sky. Finally, he has a cloak made of orange-red drake hide that is identified as a +1 dragon-defiant shield cloak.

    *I forgot about the spell stored here. Who did I hit first? Make a Will save. Not really, but it would be interesting to know.

    This is the main business office of Xojject Cinderfury, where he twists all contracts, trade documents, and wishes with business partners in his favor. Most of the documents requesting aid are stacked together and set far to one side as if they’d rather be forgotten, whereas missives from creditors congregate messily toward the center. In a glass case atop the sideboard to the northeast rests Flamebinder’s Jaw, a brass azer jawbone poised atop a metal stand. I was wrong, the Jaw is in this room.

    No traps are found on any of the upstairs doors.

    This room contains a bed, a wardrobe, a small stand, and a large portrait of a stoic efreeti: Xojject Cinderfury, the patriarch of the dwindling family.

    This room contains a bed, a wardrobe, a small stand, and a large portrait of a stoic efreeti: Xojject Cinderfury, the patriarch of the dwindling family.

    Open SW door?:
    Exotic trophies, ancient relics and glimmering weapons rest atop illuminated pedestals that encircle the room. With all the perception checks above I will also add the following.
    The Cinderfurys put their rarest items on display for visitors in this room to show the strength behind the Cinderfury name. Each item on display has a storied history of how it came into the family’s possession, ranging from the spoils of war to royal rewards to the fruits of a particularly grand business maneuver. Three especially noteworthy items seem to be missing. A weapon's rack has an empty space for a battleaxe, a mannequin does not wear the cloak it says it should, and a an empty case has a place for a pair of bracers. See strikes below.
    The only other item of note is a frost-forged steel breastplate inscribed with Shelynite iconography.

    Yes I know you cannot fail it.... As you are searching the room, the strange sensation of being watched causes the hairs on the back of your neck to rise. Turning to catch the viewer provides no obvious eyes pointing your way. Placing your back against a wall or peering through a window doesn't end the feeling, implying the source is overhead or maybe magical. The feeling persists for nearly ten minutes.

    As the group retrieves the magical items found and a variety of other valuable treasure, including Flambinder's Jaw, they stow it all in haversacks and other bags and packs for transport, before gathering at the top of the stairs.

    "We have all that we came for and more, and our mission objectives here have all been met. Do we want to explore the rest of the manor below before leaving or should we just make our exit now, given the time sensitive nature of things?" Sai says, referring to Qalkami's plan that "the right people find the right evidence in the right places at the right time."

    Given the timing of things from when I asked earlier in the scenario, I think we still have more than 2 hours left of our 4 hour time frame, but I want to be sure.
