Squeaking in late but here is wizard Navia and her familiar for consideration! Everything should be on both profiles; will try to tidy them up for ease of reading shortly.

As tempting as this sounds, I think I'll have to pass, just because I've recently had some personal issues that took me away from posting on my active games. The issues are more-or-less resolved, but I don't think it would be a good idea for me to add any other games to my plate unless some more of them end up ending for some reason. That being said, I hope everyone else has a great time and I'll definitely have to follow the game's progress when it gets going :)

As Ophelia sets to work on the first of the traps, Navia watches her with an air of interest. "You do good work with those! I tried to learn a few tricks about disarming traps, but never was any good at it; apparently reverse-engineering and fine deconstruction aren't my strong points," she says with a soft chuckle.

Navia breathes a sigh of relief as the battle ends and the group has a few moments to catch their breath. "I'm in agreement with Tieszla; they know we're here so there's no point in retreating now unless it's absolutely necessary. Still in pretty good shape myself, so I can keep going." As Walther ministers to the wounded, she takes a moment to look around and inspect their immediate surroundings. "What are they digging for down here? Just making tunnels or are they searching for something?" Kn. Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Hoping that one of the others might be able to do something about the fleeing cultist, Navia moves up behind one of the remaining two that are still focused on Tieszla. In her haste, she swings wide with her longsword but manages to connect with the cestus to make a satisfying thud. Longsword: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9
Been a little under the weather this weekend; sorry to hold up progress!

Thankful for Shang's assistance, Navia strikes at her attacker once more, hoping to finally put him/her down for the count so that they can assist Laznist and Walther. These people are tougher than they seem! Are they human or something else? Longsword: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Cestus: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12

Navia swears under her breath as she sees the overseer pursue the blinded and injured Walther. Got to help him but these other mooks are in the way! Trying not to let frustration distract her, she attempts to focus on dropping the cultist that is sandwiched between herself and Shang as quickly as possible. Longsword: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 = 25
Cestus: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 1 = 22

Navia easily dodges the blow aimed at her by one of the cultists. Too slow, too clumsy....these are grunts, not seasoned combatants. Before the cultist can recover from his swing, she brings her longsword around in an arc and attempts to strike at his unprotected side before bringing her right hand around in a vicious right hook aimed at his face. Longsword: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9
Her longsword whistles by the man, missing him by a fair margin but the right hook hits home, thudding into the man's jaw with a surprising amount of force for such a thin, wispy woman. Cestus Damage: 1d4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 - 1 = 3 Status Tracker: Iron Will - +2 to Will saves for up to 30 minutes or in 10 minute increments. Ophelia's Naturalist effect - +1 AC/attack/saves vs. exceptional, supernatural, and spell-like abilities of the cultists.

Navia exhales calmly as everyone, friend and foe alike, begin bringing weapon and spell to bear. The rush of combat felt like the embrace of an old friend; at one time in her life she would have balked to have been told that she would view it as such but now it felt warm, familiar. Is this how the Kellid feel when they enter battle? No...only a tiny fraction of it...but for me, it's enough. Having learned the hard way what can happen when dealing with foes who pledge themselves to a higher power, she draws on her studies of human resiliency to bolster her defenses before moving next to Laznist. Activating Adaptation - Iron Will as a standard action, then taking a move action to move next to Laznist. Status Tracker: Iron Will - +2 to Will saves for up to 30 minutes or in 10 minute increments. Ophelia's Naturalist effect - +1 AC/attack/saves vs. exceptional, supernatural, and spell-like abilities of the cultists.

Though able to sense that this *definitely* isn't one of her better performances, Navia sees that the rest of the miners don't really seem to notice or care. Their attention appears to be completely fixed on their leader, watching as he approaches Walther. She stops making the odd faces but otherwise remains where she is, carefully watching the unfolding action.
Inactive
Navia joins in the others in their act, lowering her sword and pretending to stare in (slack-jawed?) amazement as the overseer slowly approaches Walther. Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 But apparently the hoods cover the faces of the other workers a little *too* well as Navia can't see their expressions and gets her act completely wrong.

When she reaches the branch in the tunnel, Navia halts her progress and gazes down each path as far as she can see. She raises a hand to imply to the others behind her to halt for a moment, as well. Looking around, she listens for signs of trouble or for a clue on which way to proceed first. Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Inactive
Guess that means Navia is up! "Okay, I'll go first and lead the way; being sneaky is something I like to think I'm usually good at," Navia says brightly. She studies the opening in the earth for a moment before carefully stepping into the shadows and slowly beginning to move down the tunnel. Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

"Even though I'm pretty sure that we'll have to bust a few more heads before all of this is said and done, it certainly can't hurt to see how far we get by trying to blend in. We might be able to get into a better position to strike this way instead of just charging in right off the bat," Navia says, nodding in agreement with the others.
Inactive
"Sounds like a good idea," Navia says as she drags the unconscious cultist into the closet and props her up in the corner, before shutting the door again. Navia then moves to the other door and leans her head against it, listening for any sound from the other side. Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

After the cultist is once again beaten into unconsciousness, Navia quickly digs around until she comes up with a scrap of cloth or something to gag her with. "Until someone can remove that enchantment, we need to keep her quiet so she won't draw the attention of anyone passing by outside." With that being done, Navia will draw her sword and wait for Ophelia to open one of the doors.
Inactive
"I'm not much of a healer, but it looks like Shang managed to get her stable. She probably won't feel that great when she wakes up but she probably won't die, either." Navia quickly digs out her manacles and uses them to shackle the unconscious woman. Standing back up, she looks around. "I'm with Laznist, we should try and clear this place as quickly as we can. Be on guard in case there are any others nearby; all the commotion in here is sure to have alerted them if so."
Inactive
"An enchantment, you say? Curiouser and curiouser," Navia says as she stands up and examines the wound in her side, wincing slightly. "Good shot with that dagger, but I've had worse." As she applies pressure to the wound with the palm of her hand, she regards Ophelia with a look of curiosity as the construct digs through her backpack. "I've got a set of manacles in my pack that we can use to restrain her," she offers. "Save the rope; we might need it later, you know?"

Navia yelps as the man sinks his dagger into her side, but continues trying to maintain her grip on him. The pain only serves to cause her to intensify her hold on the struggling man. Grapple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 "Ow! Yes, we need to tie him up or turn out the lights for now while we check the rest of the building. I'm also assuming that we might have a few questions to ask, too!" For future reference, on each subsequent round that he's unable to free himself, I would add a +5 to my grapple check correct? This is the first time I've really utilized grappling so I want to make sure I get it right!
Inactive
As Ophelia flings the front door open, Navia quickly sidesteps to one side and presses herself against the outer wall of the building in case anyone inside happens to be waiting with a drawn weapon. Time is of the essence, but she'd also rather not take a crossbow bolt to the face right off the bat, either.

Apologies both for the posting delay and if it seems that Navia isn't really doing much yet. Work and RL have been busier than usual the past few days so it's made it harder to keep up with posts for the games that I'm in, but hopefully things will be a bit better after I finish my work week tomorrow! As for the quietness in-game, Navia and her player are both trying to get a feel for how the group works, so right now she's fairly inclined to go with the flow unless someone suggests something that's really off-the-wall :)

"Yes, time is of the essence. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about traps but I've been told that I'm pretty good at moving quickly and quietly when necessary. If the need arises, I might be able to scout ahead," Navia says quietly as she checks her gear to make sure that everything is in working order. Navia doesn't really have anything that she needs to prep, so she's good to go once everyone else is!

"Vulnerable to silver, you say? I'm afraid I don't have any local contacts to help us acquire more silver, but on the bright side, you don't have to worry about me..." Navia says, smiling grimly. She raises one hand, which is clad with a beautifully crafted silver cestus, and nods towards her sheathed sword. Fighting daemons isn't quite what I had in mind for these when I commissioned them, but it's good to know that they could be useful against other sorts of enemies...

Navia looked upon the conjured image of Dara and felt a sudden pang of sadness. You do look like someone who would've been a joy to be with. It's not fair, it's not right. What happened to you? --------------------------------- As Ophelia and Laznist ran through their various languages in an attempt to find a potential match, Navia couldn't help but feel impressed. Though none of the languages spoken were ones that were familiar to her ears, she marveled at the sheer variety that was possessed between the two. It almost made her wish that she had made more time for the study of such things, despite the fact that she never had had much of a head for language or other finer points of study. She chides herself, silently. No sense in wishing to be something you're not - best to develop and hone the talents you have and leave the finer points to people better suited to it than you are!

I think Walther has everyone beat on Sense Motive by a country mile! :) Navia follows the others into the bar, curious to see how they handle the interrogation process. Noting that Ophelia and Laznist seem to be standing back and observing, she adopts a similar pose, scanning her surroundings for anything that might seem amiss. Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 "That fellow was dressed in the manner of a Rahadoumi sailor, probably from a merchant ship. It couldn't hurt to check with the Harbormaster later to see if there are still any ships in harbor that fit that description; see if they're missing a man," she whispers quietly.
Inactive
Navia feels a chill sweep over her at Ophelia's words, though the ones that hired her hadn't seen fit to tell her anything about the people Tieszla and herself were hired to replace. "Surely it's just a coincidence," she says, sounding unconvinced herself. "Ophelia is right though, we'd best speak to the witnesses before they lose the nerve to tell us anything."

Navia takes the offered potions and places them in her pack. "Thank you Shang, these will certainly come in handy! It's good to know that one of us is knowledgeable enough to be able to make these." She sighs and looks around. "I finally remembered; practically anyone can get their hands on some Oil of Taggit so there goes that idea for a lead." "A sailor, you say? Then yes, unless he's a local its doubtful that anyone is missing his presence right now. He was probably kidnapped for just that reason." Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Navia, used to working alone for the most part, is slightly overwhelmed at the sudden rush of new faces and quickly-mounting leads that are presented. The original four are obviously used to working as a team and the follower of Pharasma certainly seems knowledgeable as well. Hopefully I'll be able to be of some use here. Time to focus, Navia! She politely nods and shakes hands with her new teammates, doing her best to ignore the fact that they all seem to make a rather unusual bunch when put together - she can think more on that later. "Well, it seems as if Tieszla here has given us the first major lead that we needed - we should probably seek out more information on this 'cult of Zyphus'. And it looks like you've all canvased the surrounding area pretty well too, hmm..." her voice trails off as she appears to be thinking. "This 'Oil of Taggit' that he was poisoned with, is it easily obtainable or a bit rarer? If it's a rare or specialty item, we might be able to track down those that offer it for sale in the city." As she speaks, Navia takes a closer look at the body, on the off-chance that she might spot something that the others may have missed. I wonder how old some of these healed wounds are? Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Dang, I go to sleep for awhile and wake up to 15 new posts :P

As Navia gazes thoughtfully at the body, her attention is drawn to two strangers, both observing the crime scene and conversing with each other. She studies them both briefly, making note of their appearances. A human male, but taller and broader than most that she had seen. The other...a human woman, perhaps? It was hard to tell as she had her hood pulled up, but it was almost as if her face were carefully sculpted from fine marble or some other material. Surely a trick of the early morning light. These must be some of the people I'm meant to join up with. Suppose I'd better introduce myself before I poke around any further. "Um, excuse me? Hi, I'm Navia and I believe you're the people that I'm here to meet?" she offers cautiously, in case she somehow has the wrong people. She waves the summons she received as proof of her claim. Description: Navia stands about as tall as Ophelia does, weighing around 145 lbs. Her hair is blonde and cropped very short, in an almost boyish fashion. She has light gray eyes that convey a variety of emotions, with anticipation being the primary one at present. The one odd thing about her appearance are the swirling blue markings present on her face and skin that appear to be simple tattoos.

Navia had felt the familiar shiver of anticipation as well as anxiousness run through her upon receiving the summons. Though she hadn't been in Korvosa long enough to really get a good feel for the layout of the city, she was fairly certain that the Hanged Brewer would be easy enough to find once she reached the Docks District. She hurriedly gathered her things and set out. I wish I'd had a chance to meet the rest of the team before now, but I suppose it'll work just as well to see how they operate on the job. Wish they'd told me a little more about who I was replacing and why, though.

Okay, updated Navia's profile with her additional traits and added the information that Spooky GM requested. For what it's worth, Navia hasn't given it a lot of thought as to what she'll do in the long term but she's resourceful so she'll find something to keep her occupied when the group isn't actually on a case. I've got a copy of Ultimate Campaign so it's not a problem to reference stuff if need be. For right now, should I just assume that she's renting a room somewhere in the city? As far as what she brings to the party, Navia is built as a switch-hitter and with what I hoped would be a decent variety of skills :)
