Pirates? Aye, I think we can handle some more of them. Myrsko gives Grin an encouraging look before he speaks. He nods and mouths the word “Captain”. He waits eagerly for a response, but lets his eyes wonder around him. These people in their furs were strange to him.

Nice shot, Cordelia! Myrsko cheers as he sees the snowball hit it’s mark. Let’s see if I can’t hit this scoundrel on out boat. He then reloads and takes aim with his pistol, firing again at purple. Pistol v. touch: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 4 = 161d8 ⇒ 4

I don’t think the map updated when I first posted. So, I’d like to change my action. Myrsko loads his pistol, and fires a round at the closet Sahuagin on the starboard side. Pistol vs. Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d8 ⇒ 2

Between days Myrsko sits below deck on the ship, cleaning and repairing his broken pistol. That was a bit embarrassing out there, little one. Let’s try not to misfire like that again, he says to his pistol. Having repaired his primary weapon, he heads into town to shop for crafting supplies. The bustle of the crowd bothers him. I guess I’ve gotten used to life at sea. I can’t stand all this noise and these people. He make his way through to the shop, gets his supplies quickly, and heads back to the ship, relishing the relative peace. He spends the next day crafting more ammunition for himself. Before setting sail Myrsko nudges Grin with his elbow. Quite a promotion from the Blue Hellion, eh? He smirks. I’ll follow you, but don’t expect me to call you ‘Captain’. Now Eh, Shad! What do you think? He yells over to the sahuagin.

I think you’ll find it more amicable than working for a blood queen, Myrsko adds to Grin’s statement, thinking of their own situation. Let’s get back out on deck and signal the prince, he says. He will help the other direct their captives out.

Leave it for the prince to decide. They wouldn’t be the first pirates he has worked with. He gives Shad a knowing look before continuing on. Besides, they seem to have few means to seek revenge. Now, will someone tell me what the heck went on while I decided to take a nap in my own blood?” He looks around at the rest of the team speaking with a little edge in his voice. They may have won the day, but it felt like it was only by the skin of their teeth. Since he was unconscious, Myrsko doesn’t think to check the rest of the ship, assuming it’s all been done. I don’t actually need anyone to summarize anything; I read along. But maybe this will nudge someone into thinking about the unexplored cabin.

Nice blow,[b] Myrsko says to the frog man. [b]Um, Billy, right? Let’s see if we can’t stop the runner. He follows Shad’s steps after the priest. I’ll move as far as I can, and attack if I can get to him. Sorry, I can’t quiet tell on the map.

Encouraged by his first successful attack, Myrsko thrusts the wand at the pirate again as he replied to Grin. Yes, the reversal is quite shocking! Wand attack v. touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d6 ⇒ 2 In honor of Nathaniel’s puns.

Myrsko moves to join the fight. He thrusts his wand at the remaining pirate, command the electricity from it. He looks at the tengu next to him. Hey Grin! Melee touch w/ wand: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 2 = 241d6 ⇒ 1 Crit?: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 2 = 23 I added the +2 for flanking, but if he has metal armor or a metal weapon, it’s +3 more. And I can’t even remember if I can crit with a wand, but the check anyway.

Round 31 Myrsko looks up at the strange dog-faced humanoid pulling a wand away from his chest. Warmth spread across his body as he first sat up, and then stood. Pain ached in his head and between his shoulders. Where -. What -. Ow! Drunk? Who’s where about elec-what? Myrsko reaches back to his shoulder blades, his mind struggling to comprehend. His fingers find blood as a sword wound closes up and as his eyes focus to take in the scene, his memories come rushing back. He has an electric wand! Looking at the gnoll, he nods and quickly adds, ”Thanks for the pick-me-up, Munir.”, before dashing over to pick up the fallen wand. I don’t remember where the wand is on the map, but I’ll head towards it.

Myrsko sees Murir fall near him, "Oh man!" Glancing at the rest of the deck, Maybe I wasn't the only one unprepared for this. He take a step inward to position, and quickly he swirls his hands through the air before bringing them together to unleash a wave of fire across the ship's deck. Burning hands DC 14. I'm attacking the orange bruiser, the one towards the blue boarding repeller, and if possible, the blue boarding repeller. I know it's iffy. Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 After the attack, he bends down and grabs a dagger. This next part isn't going to be fun, he thinks to himself as he awaits the pirate attackers.

Hey, it’s better than most of what Myrsko can do at this point :). He doesn’t want to risk his gun exploding. Round 6 Myrsko tries climbing the rest of the way up to the ship. At the top, he surveys his surroundings and looks for and weapons near any of the fallen, especially firearms. I was not prepared for this this morning. climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Smiling as he watches the pirate above jerk in reaction to his shot, Myrsko gives a shout of elation. “Yeah!” Quickly, he pulls out another shot, and begins repacking the pistol. Looking to Nathaniel he says, ”Why don’t you go up and I’ll follow. I can take couple more shots at them from down here.” After filling the pan with powder, Myrsko points his pistol at another pirate and fires of the shot. Attacking the one on the left.
@Munrir Thanks for pointing out the morale bouns! Edit: When Myrsko squeezes the trigger, the usual crack is replaced with a snapping sound. Misfire ”Dang it!”

“Fog spells,” Myrsko exasperates to himself as he gives Nathaniel a look that says Why didn’t I think of that! He shrugs and smiles. ”Next time, mate. Just say something before we’re in the thick of battle” Following the rope up to the gang of menacing pirates, Myrsko hesitates. ”And on second thought,” he says still speaking to Nathaniel. ”I’m not ready to be run-through yet.” And with that, he moves forward, whipping out his pistol, aims at the pirate above,
Attacking the one on the right, unless he’s engaged in melee with an ally. In that case, attacking the one on the left.

At Grin’s words, Myrsko nods with a knowing smile. ”That would be quite a turnaround.” He then turns to the prince, ”Stealing from pirates is no easy bid. Lots of revenge involved. Though, I do see the added value in the cover of a rescue. Just how fast can your ship travel?” Myrsko began to imagine the event unfolding in his mind as the he and the others continued to discuss the plan with the prince. Edit: Recalling that he has heard tales of the latest pirate king and his bride, he relays the following information. ”Saint Oren is the most recent pirates to organize the pirates under on banner. He has been king for about two years. They say, he has a fleet of around a dozen various vessels. His flagship is the Black Barracuda and his wife commands The Blood Queen, hence her nickname, I assume. Now that I think about it, I guess it could be the other way around. Hmm. Anyway, Saint Oren is quite the swordsman. Rumor has it that it’s impossible to land a blow on him. The Blood Queen, or Sylvia, is know for her mind tricks, and her sword. “Additionally, I am reminded of a story out of the Tower in Riverport, about an elven mage named Earldonius the Blue who fell out of favor and training his own school of spellcasters. He hires out their services out to any who would pay his price. I imagine Saint Oren will employ a few. These "Shocking Swashbucklers" as they are known blend rapier dueling with magic, preferring especially lightning spells.”

Myrsko takes the glass of wine, looks at it, and sniffs it suspiciously. This gathering was reminding him of his last new beginning, and he starts to tense. Slowly, he breaths out, and placed the glass to his lips and sips. This isn’t then, he reminds himself, forcing his mind to focus on the taste. The wine was sweet and far richer than anything he’d had in a long time. Even when he was shanghaied, the drink wasn’t this good. Eyeing the company, he sees his fellow former crewman, Grin, and nods when he catches his eye. The rest of the company, though rather exotic, seems a better complement than the ragged crews he’s been with. He looks at his sun-leathered hands and realizes he’s pretty ragged himself. He begins to calm as the prince finishes his speech. Amidst the introductions, the sailor stands and provides his own. ”I am Myrsko. A sailor and wizard, of sorts. I am looking forward to a new beginning also, so my magic and my gun are in your service.” Then, after an awkward pause, he adds the makeshift blessing, ”May the seas favor us!” |
