Mutahir is a much colder man than Pooka. He places his hand on the Halfling's shoulder though, not offering up any words of comfort, just a moment of condolence. After a moment he says... Perhaps their gods will be kinder masters in death than in life. With that he turns to Ingret. I think you've got more problems than you expected.
Mutahir stands in a much calmer manner and turns to his enemy, drawing his blade with the soft hiss of sword against leather. It seems that today we will stain your floor with blood my dear. I do apologize for the inconvenience. He holds out his blade and gives a very dark smile. I'll charge it to the crime scene fund. With that, his practiced eyes look over his opponents.
Mutahir nods, whispering back. At bare minimum, a relative. Dwarven clans can get rather large. Not to be self serving, but definitely a spot of luck. Interrupting Xichikitte, Mutahir speaks to the young one. We can tell you plenty of stories if you wish. However, I would not be following my duty to protect and serve the populace if I did not return you home safely. Perhaps we can take you home, and Xichi can tell you some more of his battle stories along the way.
Mutahir gives a exasperated sigh. Aegekt, you let them draw their weapon first, THEN you put your sword at their throat. That way you don't have to lie when you explain to the guards that you where perfectly justified in removing their heads. He clucks a few times in mock disappointment, and shrugs at the men. Told ya. Positively impatient.
Mutahir steps towards the men, his whole body shifting into "Officer" mode. Leave him alone. He cuts a dangerous figure, and his hands lay on his sword as he looks at the lot of them, quickly evaluating them for religious paraphernalia, a habit. And before you say something incredibly stupid, like "Why should we?" realize that I and my companion here... He nods towards Aegekt. Have had a long, tiring day, and both of us would LOVE a lawful reason to gut each and every one of you. Snuffling the light out of evil-doers is kind of our bread and butter, even if we disagree on who qualifies. So please, choose your next actions very... very... carefully. If your lucky, you may get to go home today.
Mutahir chuckles and gives a slight nod to Aegekt in silent agreement. As he walks away he shakes his head. What I wouldn't give for 10 warriors in the legion like Pooka. As they walk along he coughs. He's right though. I will try to reign in the sarcasm. It's a Rahadoumi thing, our humor tends to work better with each other. He gives a cheeky grin. Something about swearing off an after life makes us all right cheeky bastards with a gallow's humor streak longer than a hangman's rope. I'll try not to goad you so much Aegekt... we are both Pathfinders. He stops and contemplates for a moment. Try. And when I fail, you can try not to gut me. The tone is clearly whimsical, not threatening. Rahadoumi humor is strange.
Mutahir raises an eyebrow at the threat. But he agreed to be silent, so he will. He will cough in a way that sounds suspiciously like "Ingret Jor" though. Just a cough though. Nothing that be construed as her friends name being known by a guy wearing the uniform of a bunch of zealots who are known for killing people for various reasons or anything.
Gmscreen: Drat, no worries GM, He was definitely flavored alchemist but if he's not actually an alchemist nothing I can do. Was worth a shot. Trust me, imagine my surprise when a GM pointed out that I couldn't even use a CLW wand or basic CLW potion. >.< It's been a rough 8 levels as a frontliner who's required to use infernal healing to heal, especially before I got access to godless healing.
Mutahir raises an eyebrow at Aegekt. So long as no one is foolish enough to bless me or some such without my permission, we should be fine. I can only think of... He counts on his hand for a moment... 2? Maybe 3? Clerics of Abadar I've had to deport. And I haven't had to kill one yet! They tend to be a lawful bunch and listen to reason and respect the laws of the land. He sighs almost wistfully. Ah, give me a cleric of the god of law over some crusading paladin anyday. The one cleric I arrested even helped fill out the paperwork! Your.. not entirely sure if he's joking.
Mutahir stands at parade rest and continues. Our organization believes that Ingret may have access to an item that could be invaluable to our research. Since certain actors based in Numeria have forbidden our organization from traveling in these parts, I will frankly admit that you are the first person we've spoken to in anything other than a passing fashion. We hope to keep our trip here brief. Mutahir gives a wry smile. Do forgive my vagaries, I hope to give you plausible deniability should such actors decide to give you a headache later on down the road.
Mutahir steps forward and speaks in that calm, "No nonsense now" voice that police officers tend to use. And Mine is Mutahir. The worldwound is a blight on this world, and we represent certain factions who feel it would best serve the world at large if we directed our... patrons... towards shops with a combination of good product and their heart in the right place. He looks along the shelves, looking like he is ideally shopping. After all... a man must make a profit, but what good is that profit to him if he is eaten by demons, yes?
Mutahir shrugs. It is not my fault you godslaves react so violently to having your beliefs challenged. It's not like I have any authority outside of Rahadoum. A tonic seller however, that is someone I can get along with. Discoveries of science for the betterment of the world. He begins walking in the direction of the tonic seller's shop, stopping to ask for directions if necessary.
BTW, if your the bookworm type, and ever want to learn more about the way Rahadoumi think, "Death's Heretic" and "The Redemption Engine" are both great books in a pathfinder lore sense and in a good storytelling sense. It's all about a Pure Legion captain who, upon finding his wife murdered, cries out for help, for help from "Anybody".... and his wife is brought back to life by Pharasma herself. His wife rejects him as betraying their beliefs and risking her soul to pharasma and selling his own, and he is chased out of Rahadoum where he finds out he's now a cleric of Pharasma... whether he likes it or not.
Mutahir looks at Enora and shakes his head. You do not need to worry cousin. It not my place to interfere in family affairs. So long as you do not spread your... life choices... around Rahadoum, I have no quarrel with you. At Rudzik's comment about the plague, Mutahir nods, seemingly missing the sarcasm... or choosing not to recognize it? Indeed. They died free, and their souls will remain free in the afterlife, not enslaved to some god who would prey upon them in their hour of desperation and need for all eternity. Such is the way of Rahadoumi. At his suggestion he snaps a smart salute at Smine. Yes, we've wasted enough time on theology and philosophy I think.
As Aegekt sets down Mutahir, the Rahadoumi dusts off the front of his robes... and then passes Aegekt his own holy symbol back, which he somehow plucked off the man during the attack. It's alright Godslave. Just as some slaves weep for the death of their mortal masters, it is only to be expected that some would balk at the idea that slavery is slavery, no matter how "kind" and "Magnanimous" the master is. He looks at Aegekt with probably the most infuriating expression in the world. Not anger or arrogance, but Pity. Perhaps someday you'll see that and be able to free yourself from your Master. Until then, we are not in Rahadoum, and I cannot compel you to see reason... but do not mistake my following the pathfinder oath with cowardice to your threats. Your god has no hold on me... and neither do you.
No worries, Mutahir EXISTS to piss religious folk off. It's literally his special ability, he get's +2 against people when he insults their religion badly enough. :P So long as you as you understand no hard feelings come from my end either, expect lots of poking and prodding from Mutahir. I expect Aegekt is really going to hate his nickname for priests and such.... "Godslaves".
Mutahir looks at Aegekt like he grew two heads. What kind of idiots don't believe in the gods? They can bloody talk to us if they feel like it. He rolls his eyes. You've probably been listening to some religious propaganda. Rahadoumi believe in gods, same as I believe in you standing right there. What we don't believe in is worshiping them, scraping and scrounging for their pity for a few scraps of power. Just because some seek to trade their most valuable possession, their immortal soul, to so called "Good Gods" doesn't make them any less fools than those who sell their souls to devils. The gods are unworthy of worship and devotion, and we have banned their worship in our country so that we may live our lives to the fullest and free from them. They bring nothing but trouble. To Enora, he looks her up and down for a moment with a frown. It's almost like he's reading her mind... she's all to familiar as someone from Rahadoum with the Pure Legion and their ability to ferret out those who follow the gods. As for those who forsake this view that people should control their own destiny, they are free to leave... even if they are not welcome back. This, she sadly knows, is also true.
Mutahir listens as more information is given. I've dealt with the technic league before. Nasty bunch, trying to hoard advances and technology that could improve the world for everyone. Though, Chesed is a good place... while they do allow slaves, any slave who can reach the city and not be captured will be declared free. He shrugs. Would be better if they just killed all the slave masters and set them all free, but practicality demands we work up to that.
Mutahir stands at ease in the room, listening to the briefing. He nods a single time as the mission is explained. Sometimes opening doors requires a key, not a boot. His heavy Rahadoumi accent makes it obvious where he's from, even if the white cape emblazoned with the sigils of the pure legion didn't give it away. I have no objections to this mission. He chuckles at Rudzik. I feel they may have difficulty believing that I care much for Torag. Some quid pro quo usually illuminates paths that may otherwise be unavailable if they are not forthcoming with information.
Mutahir is a Pure Legion Enforcer from Rahadoum, on loan as a liaison between the pathfinders and Rahadoum. Though, the reason for the "Liasison" is more to get Mutahir out of the country and away from the populace. While a anti-theist zealot like most Rahadoumi, Mutahir has a greater passion in abolition in his country and around the world, prompting him to join the Liberty's edge. To those who tolerate him, Mutahir is a valuable help, as he truly lives by the creed "Let no man beholden to any man". Even if he does think those who follow gods are idiots. Mutahir is an agile swashbuckler, with the ability to intimidate anyone who follows a god with his blasphemy. He also is nearly immune to all divine spells, and can heal himself through sheer force of will.
No Rush! Thank you for running, and I would personally like to give you a extra level of thanks for the help after the kerfluffle that was the previous attempt at this. While a bit of the roleplay was killed since we knew what was going on, I still had more fun playing this and enjoying how it all played out.
