Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

"Yes!" - Marz agrees - "I already went through the Jedi archives, as I said. There are many other Force traditions... For instance, I thought about seeking the Baran Do sages that raised me. Maybe they'd have some clues, despite everything that happened with Dorin."

She pauses briefly.

"We could also consider seeking... The Sith archives, if they actually exist anywhere. However, not only it feels like an errand's fool on the danger alone, they have their own mythic elusive planets, like Dromund Kaas, to be concerned with. But if everything else fails to prove fruitful..."

She finally signs to HT88 that they're leaving. The droid rolls its eyes, then goes back to follow the force users back to the ship.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz smiles, underneath the mask - though it's impossible to actually notice, since not even her eyes are properly visible.

"I guess you are the girl of my dreams! For sure, at least, in this context."

HT88 looks at both of them at this point, immediately shaking his head in disapproval. They couldn't stay serious even for such an important topic! As he goes back to his pad, Marz continues.

"Thanks for the help, Ni't. I respect your thoughts on the Order, and I especially admire how you can keep both things separate... And while our mission may end up helping the Order as well, I feel it has a lot more to do with our destiny, our particular destiny, than anything else."

She points towards the ship.

"That ship was commissioned to us by the Chancellor himself. That smiling man over there, talking to the Duros, is our captain... Captain Sona. So far, he was efficient with his job, regardless of his unshakeable curiosity in regards to the mission."

Another brief pause.

"I... I honestly don't know where to start. I've been trying to interpret my visions, but they're confusing. I already researched a good deal on the Jedi archives, but as supposed, I wasn't the only one over all these past decades. Maybe we could be... More creative? Seek archives as old as the Jedi's, wherever those may be...?"

"And that would be?"

"Tython. I take you're familiar with it?" - says Marz, trying to stay in a tone that is casual, but still addressed to Ni't ears only - "Birthplace of the Jedi order, lost on the galactic maps for a very long time. Some believe it may even move by itself to hide. Others say it may have been destroyed, like Alderaan, in secret."

She sounds somber.

"Well... I have been having dreams. I believe we may have clues to find it, somehow, if we can tap on and interpret such visions. Finding Tython would bring answers... And I don't feel I'm exaggerating... That could maybe shine a new light upon this galaxy. It goes much beyond the Jedi."

She pauses for a moment, checking again her surroundings. For a moment HT88 does the same - safeguarding their privacy with all its circuits. Marz extends her hand towards Ni't.

"Where do you come in...? Well - you had been in my dreams. I've been seeing you, constantly. It brought me here. It's not clear, but I can feel we're meant to do it together. A new journey, I guess, like the ones we did as infants - but I guess for real, this time."

Ni't Shonai wrote:

"Maybe you think so, i actually had a job to finish, i was on my way back." she looks past and around then back to Marz

"My path lead me somewhere else, more distant than i thought, picked up a few tricks, learned a few things i may not have if i stayed back home. But as you said, here we are"

"Yes, I can see it... I can see the changes. But hear me out - there may be a different path for you to fulfill. And I don't mean with the Order."

Marz moves away from the crowd, hoping to be followed. At this point, she just keeps her silence. Yet, behind her, HT88 catches maybe a little more attention. The droid looks at Ni't but stays silent, its eyes immediately going back to the pad.

As the Jedi finds a more private space, she seeks a place to sit, then crosses her legs politely.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz is still smiling when she steps closer to Ni't. Different than most of her race, Marz is short, and looks somewhat up to see the Twi-lek eyes. Impossible to see her facial expressions, though; one has to hear and trust on her tone.

"Here both of us are!" - she replies - "You look great, my friend."

She signals towards a more silent corner; she wouldn't want to discuss certain things out in the open.

"Oh, I want to hear everything about where you've been! But I don't believe it's no coincidence we're both here right now. I was... Called, here, and I'm sure you were the reason."

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

As the captain engages with the Duros, Marz takes some distance, distracted with the people in the platform. Every since the ship started approaching, she had this feeling that she couldn't shake. Her dreams were taking her there.

She stops to breath. Closes her eyes. It is overwhelming at this point; there's a presence, and her premonitions seemed to be right. She couldn't pinpoint, but now it's becoming more and more obvious.

As her eyes open, the name Ni't hangs in her head - and it's at that moment that she hears her voice.

She turns around... And the twi'lek is there. This is it, that's what her visions apparently meant, that's why she felt impelled to come here.

Ni't...? - she replies, still unsure she can trust her eyes, but smiling underneath her Antiox breathing mask.

Quote:
The human captain says to the Jedi, "You still haven't told me why you wanted to come here."

Marz stops for a moment, as she walks down the ramp with the captain.

"You know, captain, you're absolutely right." - she shakes her head in agreement, then walks again, this time as if trying to concentrate and analyze the exact place they're arriving - "I really had not told you."

... And it feels obvious she has no intent of doing so.

With all the many different figures around the platform, she debates where she should start her search. HT88 just walks behind her, heavy and focused on his own pad.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

This is the way.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Just wing it! It feels a bit more cinematic building the story like that, I guess. :)

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

"Take a seat, Tcheetee." - says Marz towards her droid, as she notices the ship entering the atmosphere, then turns back to the captain - "Thanks for your help, captain."

She approaches the cockpit again, her mind racing through different expectations, and then finds a seat on the back, behind the Cathar.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz doesn't turns back, just crossing her arms on the back.

"Oh so, so much. And so, so few. Friends. I'm looking for a friend, and then other friends." - she replies in a stable tone.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

"As sure as one could be in the circumstances, captain." - replies Marz, voice muffled under her heavy mask. While very young - a padawan - her tone sounds measured, calculated.

She turns and walks outside the cockpick, arms crossed behind her back. Kel Dor could be very intimidating, it's true - but Marz is a small, skinny robed figure carrying no weapons other than an old-looking duelist lightsaber, with a figure that has the gravitas of an old woman brushing a bantha. Her red eyes blink slowly behind the visor, as if thinking with a heavy, worried mind.

GM, trying to stick with the "feeling" you imprinted, but giving some room to understand a little better the whole context.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Once we have the whole party here, I will try to get the images to have AI generate a Star Wars-style poster for us! :)

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Thanks for the invite, GM! Excited to be here, though I feel it's a trap!

hi Elton! I updated Marz's profile to include her Destiny and details on it. I added both the mechanical stuff on the sheet but also a written description! From my understanding, it's kind of like Hero Points in PF, right, but with something more grandiose backing it up. Neat system, I should have used it before!

Actually I’m still considering the exact use for the credits, especially since the ship isn’t owned by the group; I will likely invest differently. Also, gambling doesn’t connect anything with Mars’s profile, neither a gambling debt. If I end up with any spare credits, I’ll happily contribute to a party general fund, but unlikely to a single player’s ship.

@Elton: love both things, series or movies, so I’d be happy on either direction! If I was to choose, the cinematic thing would sound the cooler to me :)

It’s SW man :) and I’m glad to see all this interest. Marz is almost ready, pending gear until I get home - for now I’m guessing I can put at least 10k towards our ship? Maybe we could come out with ways to explain how the characters know each other to “own” the ship together, like the chancellor assigning it to us for the missions we undertake, and giving us the opportunity to “personalize” it a little bit?

There’s also some stuff we can purchase to “decorate” or adding like training equipment etc.; I think it would be awesome so we can turn it into like a big base of operations to come back after the missions. I’m already imagining the kind of room Marz would have!

This is shaping like a fun party!

@EltonJ Lapyd here - Marz profile is a little more complete now, with backstory, appearance, behavior, these things. A "draft"/"work in progress" crunch is there too. I'm basically just waiting for confirmation on the wealth vs. kits vs. whatever discussion. If you decide to change our starting levels, just let me know and I'll happily adjust her crunch.

By the way, this is my placeholder for the Kel Dor padawan Jedi I'm working in, and here is an image for her - I'm having her use the antiox under clothing for the cool effect, and this PF avatar ended up working well for inspiration (so I incorporated on the image!)

Basically working on her backstory but keeping an eye here for mechanics.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Still here and waiting :)

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz's year is eventful, but in a less dangerous yet exciting way. The rogue reports her weeks to her benefactor, and as the months pass her impostor's syndrome almost fades. She's happy with the friends she's making, but even happier that she may be finding a place were she's not seen as an errant thief.

For times the Eldritch Scoundrel applies herself on the books, trying to focus her arts on the abjurations, illusions, and the defensive side of magic, besides that of crafting poison. Her adventure of saving Whisken surprised her; she never saw herself as a power with her bow, but the arrows flew to prove differently. More used to subtlety and the shadows than violence, she also prays that Desna would guide her to a path where things can be accomplished without resorting to bloodshed.

Of course, a free heart is never truly caged, and some of the nights - instead of spent sleeping, or studying - are those of navigating the academy halls seeking forbidden knowledge and other interesting secrets. She manages to stay in one piece by the skin of her teeth, but her abilities stealthing, searching and dealing with traps prove to be unmatched by other first graders.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz crosses her arms behind the back, and nods peacefully.

I believe we can talk them as such, or at least I hope. Considering what's going on, we don't even actually have to argue for it.

The rogue looks tired, resources fully worn off, but somehow accomplished - she was considering a bonus if she even left the place breathing, as her main concern was rescuing Whisken.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz collects her weapons and organizes her gear again, silently looking at the ratfolk and analyzing what's going on. She isn't fully convinced of the purity of intentions...

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Despite the inefficacy of her weapon, Marz doesn't have anything better to try - so she insists on attacking again.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

This time, however, her rapier absolutely misses any spots.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz five-foot-steps towards north, then loops around and swings her rapier in a stabbing movement against the creature.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Her attack is beautifully precise, but yet the rogue isn't sure of how effective her weapon actually is.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz drops her bow, pulls her rapier, and advances to help deal with the last standing enemy.

BAB 0... I need to actually use a move action to draw my weapon :)

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz does a sidestep and tries to shoot again, focusing on the enemy not currently engaged in melee and without cover to her attacks.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz shoots the plant creature that is not engage in melee, considering her current difficulties to avoid hitting friendly targets in such situations.

Attack (Longbow): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

She then moves ahead, closer to the enemies.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz will be translating everything that she can to the group

The Elf scratches her arm; she is still feeling the "impressions" the creatures left at her by this time. She feels she's in desperate need of a bath.

Sylvan:

You are right, we have no idea. And yes, this isn't the First World, and I don't even know how to get to such place. All I can guarantee is that we can *try* to get you out of this... Dungeon... You're in now. - she emphasizes the word "try", and thrives to be honest - Beyond that, however, we can't really give any other assurances. Of course, however, we won't leave this place without Whisken, and we're all exhausted of all the violence, right? So, at the end... Yes, I'm asking you to trust me. I will try what I can under our limited capabilities. Let's plan together... You may only need to hang around a little longer until we figure out the best and safest way to do it.

Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz turns back to the grimple and speaks.

Sylvan:

We can try to help you sneak out. The "big city" you refer to seems to be the school we attend. - she speaks, almost immediately following - As I said... I talked to my companions, and we're willing to help you escape from here. But first, you have to release Whisken - and then we can all plan together when's the right moment to get you all out of here. That's the best we can honestly offer.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz stops for a moment and translates everything being said to her companions that may not speak Sylvan.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

The Elf looks confused, yet signs her companions to hold. She takes a deep breath and lower her aim out of the grimple, taking a single step forward in his direction.

Sylvan:

Wait... What do you mean, you're trapped here and can't go home? - she asks in sincere confusion - You kidnapped Whisken and brought her here. When I followed, I was threatened to be captured and taken to the "queen" as well, just because they saw I could do some cantrips.

She still keeps her weapon low in a non-threatening way, although very much sheathed and fairly ready to pull up in case things go south.

Your story doesn't seem to be adding up, yet I feel it's because I'm probably missing some elements. If I keep my colleagues at bay, would you explain? At the end of the day we just want to free our friend Whisken and get out of here, but I'd be willing to help you if you're sincere in your struggle.

Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16 Not a face character...

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Sylvan:

The Elf speaks with a loud accent and doesn't lower her bow, keeping it pointed at the larger grimple.

Release her immediately and we will let you go on your business. - brief pause - I really don't want to have to kill any more of you. We just want our friend back... And then you can all just leave this place in peace.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

We did have a passage, all the way back from where we entered... It was covered by spiderwebs so we decided to not follow up, since that couldn't be the route used to kidnap Whisken... But thinking about it now, that might be an alternate route. - says the Elf.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

I actually think you can't even aid another on trained-only skills without having a rank in it. Bummer! But the question above remains - does Marz have to succeed on both knowledge checks, or would one of them suffice?

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

DC 10 suffices for aid another

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Knowledge (History): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Does she have to succeed in both knowledge checks or just local suffices?

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz shoots again at any of the gremlins she can see, blowing the fire out of her shirt. This will leave another mark!

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

After that, she moves up towards the center of the room, looking around and getting ready to more of the enemies - as she's fairly sure at least one of them run for help.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz moves North, and as she stops she circles on her left foot and lets out another arrow from her bow.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Hoping for someone without cover and not engaged in melee - she doesn't have Precise Shot yet :( she will shoot anyway, even if there are none available matching it. The bow has 100' increment if it matters

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Still clueless as to what these creatures are - she tried to re-identify them when they saw they flying - Marz does a diagonal step back away from the enemies, and tries to shoot against the furthest she can that is not engaged in melee right now, preferentially without cover either.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

The Elf moves in with Mezdav, as as she stops she lets an arrow fly. Her intention is to hit the enemy which was sent to "warn the mother", but if she can't reach him she will settle for the farthest enemy she can hit.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Quickly, don't let that one escape! He is about to warn "mother", whoever she is, about us! - says Marz, arrow ready to fly on the warner - And the big one seems to be barking the orders here.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Ahead, always ahead... As fast as we can. Each minute down and Whisken is at a greater risk! - says Marz, immediately following Gennie and Mezdav.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Trapfinding

Marz approaches slowly, still for times getting distracted scratching her arms. She very much welcomes Mezdav walking in front - as she really isn't cut to being too close to danger.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Yeah same for me… while I want to explore and press that button, searching for whisken looks more in character.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

I can definitely look for traps... And even disarm the ones we find. But beyond that, I'd probably give up room on the front to our strongest folks.

She stops for a moment.

And I feel there are some interesting artifacts and findings to be seen down here, but I'm honestly more worried about pushing ahead to find Whisken!

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Hi team - sorry, I’m a little under the weather today. I’ll be posting something useful tomorrow evening. Apologies again on the slowness today.

Female Kel Dor Jedi 3

Marz tries to shoot the last enemy, already thinking on the fact that Whisken wasn't in this room. Are they taking too long? What would these things be doing with their friend?

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
