I think I'm going to have to pull out of this game, I seem to have overextended and am having trouble keeping up with my current games. Feel free to NPC Makena or what have you as seems appropriate to the campaign, and have fun all!

Makena wheezes to a stop as she finally reaches the goblins, finding the battle over. It seems she may have indulged too heavily earlier. Gobbos ate some strange things, but they still tasty. "What happen? Gobs look bad-hurt." she eyes the zombie carrying Auntie's cauldron curiously, and then looks at all the wounded goblins, wishing she could recall some of her old magic. She'd known how to fix people then...

Makena stares as the goblins rush around to several different activities, just observing for a few moments herself. The activities were... quite crude, but she could see the merit in some of them; they taught the goblins useful skills and showed them there was a real price for failure, but... the barbed wire she might be able to do, but she didn't want to risk tearing her kimono; she much preferred insects to slugs, if only she knew her great-mother's recipe for slug stew... but it didn't look like they were letting the gobs cook them. The hiding one looked like fun. She'd always been good at hiding games back in the caves, she always got to the good spots first. She heads in that direction, and runs off with the goblins to find a good spot. She proves not to have her usual advantage, as the green-skinned goblins are just as fast as her, but still she manages to find a good spot inside a relatively dry drain, and carefully pulls the grate back into place as she hears goblins starting to move around above, thumping things with the clubs, some of which occasionally give a squeal of pain. Her heart thuds in her chest when one of them walks right over the top of her, but he seems half dazed, perhaps from having participated in a prior activity, and quickly moves on. Once she's sure they've all gone she clambers up out of her hiding spot, and hurries back to claim her victory! She is thus rather disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any sort of prizes. _________________________
Goblins!: 1d10 ⇒ 5
With that fresh in her mind she nevertheless pushes on, heading to peer at the 'demon dog', sniffing a little. Devils were way better after all, demons were so unruly. She peers at the poor thing, watching as it catapults it's previous rider over the heads of the spectators to riotous cheers. She may have forgotten a lot about her former talents, but it didn't even look remotely fiendish, whoever had claimed otherwise was a fool.

Makena watches the thieving little goblin carefully until she is satisfied he has given up everything, and then looks around counting, quickly sorting the gold into even piles for those who had fought off the venturer's handing Sticky back his share, and the other's theirs. With that sorted she gives Plays back his cane and heads off to meet the chief. Having helped defeat the venturers that should easily make up for her previous 'failure' should Auntie share it. She just hopes the doggies made it out okay.

Your Benevolent Dictator wrote: Sticky's drawback means he needs to receive at least 10% more loot than everyone else. Otherwise, he "gets irritable" and can't Aid Another for 1 week. If everyone's okay with the idea, I think it's easiest to just make sure that happens and RP it however desired. That way we don't need to constantly roll SoH/Perception for the rest of the campaign. For this first bit, Sticky's sack o' loot will cover the difference, so feel free to split the 'venturer gear as evenly as desired. :-) Cool, so in future we can skip the SoH/Perception rolls and just assume that he manages to pocket his 'extra share' and anything else he tries to make off with is found out. I'd much rather just settle that sort of thing out of character unless it's an important moment (like he sneaks off with the possessed jewel of OMGBAD and starts plotting to kill us all). So I think then everyone gets 5 gold, and Makena will hold onto the remaining 5gp for party expenses (or until we get another 2 gold so it will split evenly. Depends if you guys want to have a party fund for group items like Bags of Holding, Wands of Cure light Wounds, Lesser Restoration, etc.)

Heh, I doubt Makena was counting. All Greedy means is you have to get a larger share than everyone else right? So keep say... 10gp, and everyone else can have 5 (There's 7 of us right?). I really cannot be bothered rolling constant perceptions, I'm happy for Sticky to take a larger share as long as he doesn't take it all, or steal anything that's super expensive :p If you want to roleplay it as him being all sneaky and getting caught then I'm happy to do that.

Makena watches as the gobins crawl over the venturer's bodies, relieving them of their valuables, though she sees little of interest to herself. She generally relied on her magics, anything else just slowed her down. A few bottles on the pointy eared tall-one grab her interest however and she snaggs them quickly. Pulling the cork out of one of them and taking a sniff leaves her in a coughing fit as she gets a nose full of acid vapor. It is just as she is recovering that she spies stickymitts, stuffing coins into his pockets. She frowns at him, stalking up to take the wizard-shanks cane off of Plays and then bringing it down firmly on Sticky's head. "Bad sticky! You share shiny coins!" she demands, shaking the cane under his nose for emphasis. Perception (Elf): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

As a large pool of blood begins to form beneath the bodies of the 'venturers, Makena finally lowers her flute, tucking it into her belt as she emerges from behind the fruit stand. She pauses a moment to stuff a few bits of produce into her backpack before approaching the others. She squints at Slorb as he emerges and smiles at his thanks, petting him fondly on the head before he runs off. "That good. Chief know how good we fight." Makena observes as she watches Gorb disappear. She turns to the other goblins and corpses then. "They got any good stuffs?" Int: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Makena continues to play to inspire her allies--apparently goblins enjoy the sounds of dying cats--and swings her attention between the two still standing tall-ones. It seemed Tochak was the only one who paid attention to her suggestion, attacking the lady who kept healing her friends, but then the armored one looked strong. Both were dangerous, but... the goblins seemed able to dodge the armored tall-one fairly well. Focusing on the robed she-tall-one Makena's tune changes slightly, still bolstering her allies, but now taking on a lilting, relaxing quality as she channels her magic through the flute. The priesty tall-one's eyes and limbs begin to feel heavy as Makena's spell entices her to sleep. Maintain performance and cast sleep on Kyra, DC 15.

Dangit. "Nooo... Get the priesty lady" she wails and calls in goblin as the lady ignores her and stabs Tochak. She stops pretending to be a melon as the swordsman also attacks the goblins, and pulls her flute out of her sash, raising it to her lips to play a tune. As the goblins hear it they find unexpected courage rising within them. They'd already taken down one of the tall-ones after all, and badly hurt another. They can totally do this! It says this to them even despite sounding like a dying cat. Just for fun...

Makena's eyes widen at the four tall-ones in the middle of the square as Brother Tochak's words drift across the empty space between he and her. She looks around the square at the goblins attack the tall-ones and the other two moving to join the fight. She had heard of venturers, she knew the Onee-sans served them sometimes, and she remembered one time one of them had even hit an Onee-san! Gathering her courage she raises her hand, reverting to her native language as she bark and yips and growls out arcane syllables, staring at the pointy eared tall-one with many daggers. As she yells the last syllable she feels the magic settle around the pointy eared one. "No lady! Don't fight Goblins!" she yells, and dives out of site behind the nearby fruit stand, doing her best to disappear in case the tall-one manages to throw off the spell. She ends up with her snout poking out amongst some melons so she can continue to watch the fight. _________________________

Phew! Horsies got away and Goblins not try to kill Makena. She have to be careful of Auntie tho. Makena thinks, relieved. She watches as Auntie heads off one way and leads her goblins off in another, but the confusing turns soon end up with her running parallel to the witch anyway, the kobold's snout swivelling back and forth as she looks out for something she can use to get rid of the goblins following her. So yeah, just have Makena end up wherever :p

Makena jumps, spinning towards the goblins as Auntie yells at them, trying to get them to capture. "What! Makena not traitor. She just trying to um... wanted to eat horsies, sink fang into froat and drink warm bloods, but when she open door they run away and knock her over!" she says quickly, miming sinking her toothy maw into the horsies throats and tearing flesh, before flailing her arms and pretend to fall away from charging horsies. "Quick we go chase them! Make sure they get awa-er, we get them for chief. Lets go!" she says, waving for the other goblins to follow her and running out into the street. Her luck with the dogs does not seem to hold as she peers into the stable. She doubts very much that she'd be able to bluff these goblins away from the horsies like she had the others, and her spell probably wouldn't do much better... "Umm... Yes. Kill man. Burn stables." she murmurs her agreement, while her eyes dart around looking for options. As auntie starts up her song Makena will pull out her flute and play a short, simple tune to accompany it. It seems to hearten her fellow licktoads, putting some stiffness into their spines. "Get that tall-shanks!" she yells as she takes advantage of the distraction to try and open some of the stalls and let the horsies out. _________________________

She's considering how best to go about saving the horsies without ending up like the goblin on the sign when she realizes she's not the first one to find the place. Makena waits anxiously as the goblins start to retreat, peeking around the corner until they disappear from sight. Once they're gone she hurries forwards and looks at the dogs uncertainly. "Umm, good doggies. Makena am friend, she here to save you from Goblins." she slowly edges closer, wracking her brain for times when she remembers tall-ones interacting with doggies. She didn't think her memories of Mr. Barks would help very much with tall-one dogs. Letting the doggies sniff her hand, ready to snatch it back, and once they seem comfortably with her she gives them a little scratch. "Uhh, Down! doggies. Then Makena can let you go." she says, her tone firm and commanding, at least for the command. Then she turns her attention to the chains holding the big dogs. Handle Animal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Hopefully they're well trained :p "Oh noes!" whispers Makena as she spies the goblins fearsomely menacing and taunting the captive dogs. She wiggles on the spot as she peers around the corner at them. After a few moments of indecision she finally takes a deep breath and raises her flute to her lips, playing a soft, lilting song as she weaves a spell around the goblins. When the spell fails to send the entire group to sleep she wrings her hands a little before looking at the dogs. Tucking the flute into her sash she puffs her chest up again. "Woof! Woof woof! We magic doggies!. You not mess with us! We know how make goblin speak and make goblin fall sleep too! Uh.. She turns her attention to the priest, pulling out her flute, ready to cast a spell when he collapses. She looks around, squinting at the bow-gob Laz and shakes her head. This was waste time, she heard lots of doggys barking, she had to gets to them before rest of dog hunting squad got them. In the chaos a kobold sneaking in the direction of the good and bad smells and barking dogs is easy to miss, which is good as she trips over something and sprawls into an alley and has to cast her spell to clean her robe, before hurrying towards the barking. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Makena frowns at some of the chief's plan. She was all for helping her friends to improve the lot of their tribe; Makena certainly knew that small folk like them needed all the help they could get in this world of tall-ones. No not tall-ones, goblins called them shanks... something. it had only been a couple weeks since she'd found the Licktoads and been happily reunited with Feeva and Ki-Ah; she was still adjusting to being amongst goblins again though... When the chief tells what the final group is going to do Makena stares at him in dismay. Why he want to kill horseys and doggys? She still missed her old friends, pony, and Mr. Barks had helped her a lot, all of her friends had! Clutching her flute she prays fervently to snake lady goddess Onee-sans had taught her of that she not be put in that group. Though... if she did then maybe she could try to hide doggy from other goblin, make sure they not get hurt, chase pony out of sands point... She is snapped out of her thoughts as she is called out, and quickly finds herself pushed into one of the groups, next to a goblin with a large bow. "Why you talk bout books? Makena thought chief say this group attack bridge." Makena says to the bow goblin and another strange pale goblin he's talking to. Even if she wasn't put in the dog and horsey group she can still try and find some during attack and get them away.

Makena sticks out perhaps the most in the crowd of goblins, though there is certainly some stiff competition for the honor; of course she does have the advantage of being the only non-goblin gathered to hear the chief. As he finally arrives and calls for attention she jumps in surprise, lowering the small bamboo flute she'd been playing with, and scrambling to her feet from her kneeling position. Even after she stands one could be forgiven for thinking she was not, being one of--if not the--shortest person in the room at a little over two and a half feet. She brushes absently at her kimono, a bright red color with a white flower pattern and immaculately clean, which is explained a moment later as she whistles a small tune and the dirt crumbles away from the front, falling to the floor. The bright color does clash somewhat with her dark green scales, but the elaborate black haired wig she is wearing and thick wooden sandals complement the tied kimono, so it... kind of works. Further throwing the whole thing into a giant mess of influences is the crossbow and quiver across her back, and a small backpack that clinks gently when carried, though it currently rests besides the kobold girl.

Australian Eastern Standard Time, (or UTC +10). I should generally be able to post once a day except wednesdays, and thursdays and fridays are also a bit iffy (have school these three days and my RL game on wednesday nights). If the post is likely to be more than a paragraph or two (usually when presented with a brand new situation or the like) then it may take me two or three days to carve out time to make the post. I do my best though, and Makena's pretty easy to write for, so I should be regular.
