Estra's magical knife-helper continues to try to flail at Minasako, seemingly forgotten by the old woman as she ponders what to do next.

The woman decides on a course of action, moving in swiftly due to Erasmus' spell and settling next to Mavaro. "Let the knowledge of the next world be yours, friend."

Using Honaire's calm voice within her mind, a blur of spiritual energy appears between herself and the terrible creature.

Standard - Cast Guidance on Mavaro, Move - Move next to Mavaro, Swift - Bonded Manifestation, granting Concealment from ranged attacks until Estra's next turn.

Estra implores her magically created weapon to continue to attack.

Seeing that Mavaro has likely managed to remove the tentacles, the woman takes her hand off her wand, and instead moves to Erasmus. "May the spirits guide your hand, young man."

Cast Guidance on Erasmus.

Perfectly content to let others into the room to fight the monstrosity, Estra again chants the words of a spell, the silver dagger appearing next to the Penagal-something or whatever Rivani said. It attempts to stab into the creature's organs as the spiritualist considers her next options.

Sighing, Estra smiles at her husband, reaching out to stroke his arm, her eyes wandering to the ravages the skeletons left behind on his ectoplasmic body. She closes her eyes for a few moments, and the solid projection of Honaire vanishes. As she opens her eyes, a brief light flares inside of them for just a moment before fading.

"I'm afraid my Honaire will no longer be able to provide melee support, my friends. I believe we near the end, now, for better or worse."

With that, she casts Shield upon herself, then makes ready to continue.

Estra, feeling through her senses the massive hit that her beloved Honaire just took, moves into the room, careful to avoid Larry's reach. She casts a spell, then waits for Honaire to step towards her before releasing it, imbuing him with a bit of extra protection.

Cast Shield on Honaire. AC now 27 with Haste.

The spiritual weapon continues its onslaught against Larry.

Honaire also continues his assault on the skeleton, not wishing to feel any more of its attacks.

Estra calls upon her spiritual powers once again, a translucent dagger appearing next to the skeleton that just attacked Honaire. It slashes at the skeleton.

Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Honaire, meanwhile, dutifully steps to the side of the skeleton, inviting a flank with Mavaro. Once established, the ectoplasmic warrior then attacks.

Slam: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 = 28
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Slam 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20

After Erasmus finishes off the haunt, Estra closes her eyes for a moment. When she opens them, Honaire materializes next to her, blinking out of existence from below the party and reemerging by his mistress' side. She pulls out her wand and taps the ectoplasmic spirit.

CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 3 = 10

The woman sighs as the remaining magic of the stick is consumed. She calls upon her innate magical ability, healing the remaining damage to her husband.

CSW: 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (7, 1, 5) + 7 = 20

Upon finishing, she instructs Honaire to continue to lead the party, trusting in the spirit's ability to shrug off the worst of anything to come.

Listening to Rivani, Estra nods in agreement. "Whether she knows it or not, her soul is suffering and must be granted the rest or damnation it will be afforded in the afterlife. Honaire and I will gladly use our talents to grant that to her."

The woman follows with the others as Honaire continues to lead them through the area.

The older woman pulls out a wand and dabs herself twice with it. Once done, she concentrates, manifesting Honaire after a minute of effort. She then does the same with him.

She then notices Rivani still suffering under some of her wounds, and moves to tap her once with the stick.

Realizing there is little Honaire can do against this enemy besides get incapacitated, Estra recalls him into her mind. Hopefully with his added insight she could better evade anything more forthcoming. She shuffles away from her companions, hoping to avoid another area spell, as she conjures something to help her battle this creature.

She casts a spell, a small bladed weapon made of force manifesting next to the outlined being. The blade slashes at it.

Honaire advances to the indicated door, Estra fading back into her spot in the party lineup. The spiritualist seems nervous, the recurring image of the waitress disturbing her greatly. The woman haunting this place was something she could understand, but how could she be at the Tavern as well? They would find that out soon enough, in all likelihood.

"Come, Honaire, let us be rid of this nuisance." Estra moves forward, Honaire shadowing her, a silent guardian protecting his mistress and former lover.

She chants, then reaches forward to 'attack' the haunt.

CSW: 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4, 8) + 7 = 21

With but a thought, Honaire disappears from between the two would be ghostly murderers, reappearing immediately beside Estra. Tapping her chin, she remarks, "Perhaps if we destroy the wine barrel it will cease this particular haunt's abilities?"

Still, better safe than sorry. She backs away, Honaire silently following her.

Move action out of the area.

Estra moves up behind Mavaro and casts a quick spell, tapping him on the shoulder.

Cast Guidance for each attempt.

Sounds like a plan

"Ready as I'll ever be, Mavaro. Honaire, be a dear and lead the way, mmmm k?"

Wine + Oxidation = Bad wine? LOL

I would think the formation of acetic acid would be the answer, but oh well. Can't wait to hear it!

Estra smirks as she spies the inadequately hidden door in the floor. Perhaps, when the house had been busier, with more activity, such a thing would have gone unnoticed. But this group was used to walking into areas with eyes wide open.

She holds up her hand to stop Honaire from following through on Mavaro's request. It wasn't needed, really...her spiritual partner responded to mental commands, but it was a remnant of his time on Golarion.

"Friends...should we put something heavy on top of the door until we've explored the first floor, then come back to investigate? Or go down now?"

Whenever there seems to be a consensus, Honaire will dutifully move wherever the party agrees.

Would rice wine oxidize like that and smell like fruit? Just curious.

Estra again waits patiently while Rivani and Mavaro use their inherent powers to try to ascertain what is going on, to no avail. When all seem satisfied that nothing else can be gained from this small little brewing room, she has Honaire open the door to the room in the bottom right corner of the house.

Estra gives a minute nod, then Honaire turns to Mavaro and nods without a word, Honaire moving to the space Mavaro intended and getting ready to continue along should his Companion's be ready to move along.

Estra listens to Mavaro talking to his skull, then turns to Honaire and shakes her head. She suspected that half the people around her were quite mad. Upon hearing Rivani's words, the old woman thinks for a moment, then remarks, "This waitress seems to be a steady motif as we go through this house. She likely knows what we are about, so be careful, in case her intentions are evil."

She pats Honaire on the back soothingly, watching one way while he keeps an eye on the other direction.

"No blood, you say?" The woman asks Erasmus with mild interest, giving the corpse another curious glance before Honaire disposes of it.

After waiting for Mavaro to scout and hearing his summation, the woman directs her ectoplasmic counterpart to the forefront, determined to do as Mavaro seemed to be suggesting and hurry around while her protective magics were still in place.

Before Honaire removes the corpse, Estra steps closer to the dead man, squinting her eyes as she inspects him. Shrugging, she nods to her ectoplasmic partner, who proceeds to dutifully disengage the corpse from its tether and carry it outside the front door, the old woman staying near him the whole time.

Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Seems as though I have the spell, as well, but I agree. Two potions, then follow the young woman up the stairs (or explore the first floor...I can't remember what the consensus was).

Estra nods to her companion, Honaire rushing forward to provide cover for Yoon as she starts to ascend the stairs, looking for the source of the giggling. The old woman sighs again, always a bit flabbergasted by the impatience of the young.

"Can your sense look through ceilings as well, Mavaro? Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what awaits as our companions rush towards it?"

Estra patiently waits as Mavaro provides a show, then sighs gently as it all proves for naught. Her ectoplasmic companion blinks out of existence, appearing right next to the older woman. She gestures to the door directly in front of her. "My friends, shall we continue?"

If there are no objections, Honaire opens the door.

Getting ready to enter the house, the woman begins to mutter and chant for a fair amount of time, causing a shimmering field of force to surround both herself and Honaire, and then casting another spell upon herself to bolster her defenses.

With that being done, she follows the others cautiously into the House, peering about.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Cast Shield on Honaire, then Estra, then Aid on Estra.

Temp HP: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

The older woman sighs, looking to her not-quite-alive counterpart, Honaire, with a long-suffering gaze, before turning to address the others. "Perhaps Erasmus just needs a bit of time to collect himself. If he hasn't recovered sufficiently from his ordeal in say, an hour or so, then we can go back to town and rest or use those potions you spoke of, Rivani."

She turns back to Honaire. "Young people these days..." Of course, the spirit guardian stands vigilantly by her, remaining silent.

I cast Guidance on him...that's about all I can offer at the moment.

Estra steps back, scratching her head helplessly. She turns to the others, eyebrow arching at the skull Mavaro holds in his hand. She then turns to Yoon. "Perhaps that will help...who knows? If we knew the manner of his affliction, perhaps we could assist better, but he among us is best-versed in these things."

The woman proceeds towards Erasmus, noting the man seeming to wither as he did...whatever it was he just did. Honaire stands a vigilant guard at the front of the group as Estra chants a quick spell, noting the internal fight the medium seems to be fighting.

"Here, friend, this should help a bit."

Cast Guidance on Erasmus.

Before they approach the mansion, Estra goes through the short process of calling forth an ectoplasmic version of her husband, Honaire. She has a few whispered words with him, then he steps forth to take the place at the front of the party, providing a buffer between them and whatever they might encounter.

"Don't stray too far, my dear. I fear I am too used to having you right by my side."

I'm sitting on 876, I believe. More than willing to spend it on party resources.

I can materialize Honaire and put him up front once we get there.

Estra gives Fumigo a gracious nod to indicate she understands his reasoning. She understood. She often forgot that others could not hear Honaire, that most often he was only another voice in her head. It had been years, but she still missed him. She suspected it was her force of will that kept him here, instead of being able to move on to the Higher Planes, but such thoughts led her to depression.

She instead focused again on what the man was telling them. "Strange advisers, eh? Hmmmm...I guess ninety years puts a lot of dust on old mysteries. Best to move on, friends. I thank you for your help, Fumigo the well-traveled."

The woman nods her thanks to the waitress, sipping at the foamy beverage as the rough-looking man makes his way over. Though the beer is bitter and has a very different flavor and even texture than she is used to, Estra manages a few polite sips without a grimace before following the seemingly helpful man outside.

Though she is not being addressed directly, the spiritualist listens to the man with the same earnest intensity she gives to that unseen partner she can be seen listening to on occasion. At the end of the man's short story on the manor, she pauses for a moment, digesting the information.

"So this noblewoman, this Minasako, was a good-hearted woman, yes? Was there anyone else residing at the manor that these atrocities you mentioned could be tied to? A spoiled child? An abusive husband?" She taps her chin, then adds, "Drained of blood, you say? Were there any marks? Punctures?"

The woman follows behind the others. The loud, ridiculous Varisian. The man who seemed to always want to lock eyes, as though he were speaking with a lover. The little girl who seemed shy and a rather poor fit for the rest of the group. The other gentleman and lady who so far had been rather quiet.

She sighs, listening to a voice that didn't exist before nodding. "Too true, Honaire. Oft times we do not choose our partners in crime, but we must make the best of the cards we're dealt."

She enters the bar behind the others, walking up to the counter and sitting down wearily, glad to be on a surface that wasn't constantly rocking. As the person manning the bar happened to walk by, Estra pulled a gold coin out and gently set it on the bar.

"A drink, if you will. Something gentle on the palette."

Another gold coin follows the first, set on the bar top by its companion.

"Now this one...is if you can tell me anything about Hinojai? Or direct me to one who has such knowledge?"

Diplomacy + Shared Consciousness: 1d20 + 14 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 3 = 32

The older woman sits in the back, absorbing the words being exchanged, occasionally tilting her head as though listening to someone else. Sometimes she nods, at other times she vigorously shakes her head, one time even cutting her hand across the air as if to end an argument.

"Yes, yes, antiquities must be preserved, Venture Captain, though some manifestations are much more violent than others. If this House has remained a mystery for so long, it is likely a powerful spirit calling it home. We fear for our group, but we shall go along for the good of the Society, and perhaps learn something along the way."

The woman has a smooth voice, which rises and falls in a rather pleasant rhythm. It is clear she is used to telling stories to an audience. Perhaps a favorite grandchild or a group of friends. At this point, she again withdraws into herself, muttering under her breath.

It was fun, yet again! :)

Had a great time. Kind of mind-blanked about having the fire arrows and the animal bane arrows, though...duuurrrr.

Rita hops up and down in excitement. She had had terrible dreams lately of being killed by dogs, so this was a pleasant surprise. She basks in the glow of Chief Poog's praise, going so far as to saw off the ogre's head to carry home. It wouldn't do to have those Birdcrunchers doubt the integrity of their new chief!

Rita grimaces as the heat from the fireball washes over her, evading any real damage. Growling, she lashes out at Pa with her dogslicer, hoping to continue whittling the big bastard down.

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Rita takes aim at the big brute, letting fly with an arrow. Realizing that the ogre will be harder to hit with a missile while it is fighting with Reta, she then drops her bow, pulling out her dogslicer as she makes her way closer.

The terror of moments before already forgotten, Rita picks up an owlbear egg and bites into the shell greedily, making a hole. She then noisily slurps up the yolk and possible embryo, smacking her lips. Her eyes dance as she watches Chuffy start the fire, giggling as she exits the building, getting ready for their showdown with Pa Munchmeat.

The little goblin stabs down at the creature, multiple times. "You ass-licking b%!#*-bird! You hurt Rita, now you dead!"

Once she ends her tirade, she pulls out her feel-good potion, tossing it back.

Cure Mod Potion: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 8) + 3 = 15

Panicking as the creature starts to take her into the Heart of Darkness, Rita tries to remember what she learned as the member of the Stab-a-ho tribe.

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Rita squirms a bit, dropping her bow and pulling out her dogslicer, knowing her huge head will make it all but impossible to free herself from the creature's grasp. She attempts to plunge the weapon deep into it, fully panicked.

Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Well, I had stated I moved 30 ft away, so that's a long step.

Ummmm...does that owlbear have pounce? Ouch!

"Moves, moves! Give the Ritas clear shots, gobbos!"

Rita will wait for the other goblins to clear out (delay until after Poog & Mogmurch), then fire her bow at the owlbear. She backs away to 30 ft before firing.

Taking aim, Rita hoots and hollers madly. "We gettin' eggses for dinner tonight!" She casts a side glance at Poog. "'Cept for one, right!?"
