Taking older novices is a change in the initiation and training process of the White Tower. The Shawl is not a protection from Seanchan, taking those women is simple reason. They will either be novices, or Damane. And Damane are a threat to the Tower and the world. If they are part of the Tower, they are united with us, and stand a better chance. Regardless, the most pending question is about the Dragon. The REAL reason for the breaking of the Tower, is Elaida. She is not interested in a unified front against the Shadow. She wants the Dragon on a leash, and the Blue disbanded. Egwene does not call for disbanding the Red, and is willing to cooperate with the Ashaman and the forces of the Dragon for the better of the world. There is no middle ground of opposing both the split and the capture of the Dragon anymore. Tar Valon is a military fortress now. Are you suggesting going there and talking to Elaida to set him free, or do you think it is a matter that can just be left as it is? This world is yours more so than mine. What path do you see for saving it?

I think you mean Grey Ajah sometimes instead of White. White is about logic and reason, and grey about negotiations. P.S. Gronmar is homebrewed, and was never seen before in this age, if ever, as far as we know

The oats are a necessity, to avoid the fate that swept Seanchan.I do not reject them, and will take them when I have the chance. Yet it was Aes Sedai that decided that new ones will take the oats before claiming the name at one point, when it was needed for the world, and it was Aes Sedai who decided to name Egwene Amyrlin, because the world needed it, because Elaida is not a mere unpleasant ruler, but a menace to the very fate of us all, in her war against the Dragon. She was made Aes Sedai, and then she made others, because this is what the world needs right now. The coming of the Dragon breaks all chains, this is the end of our age. Judging ourselves going forward solely by the standards of this age, without regard to the deeper rooted past, or the needs of the future, is as foolish as raising men Aes Sedai during the breaking, because of the standards of the Age of Legends.

Regarding the rest, what you said is exactly what I would just a few months ago, when I first arrived at the Salidari camp, in our world, after we captured a black sister, and went there as it was the closest place to put her in custody. I believe, as you do, that we must unite in face of the real enemies, and I opposed the split. However, since then we learned of Elaida's activity, which was less successful in our world, but non the less destructive. She decided to usurp an Amyrlin, "disbanded" the blue Ajah, and attacked the Dragon. As much as I dislike the idea of in-fighting, her actions can not lead to unity. I support Egwene for one simple reason - Elaida is unworthy of being Amyrlin, and Egwene is the only one who managed to unify a front against her.

i am going to say this. with the exception of zira, chen, analin and amorial, everyone else needed sleep. the last few days were utterly exhausting, and the idea of reading a book was the furthest thing from your mind. now, if you wish to still have stayed up and read, i will allow it, but you will suffer have the condition "exhausted", all the penalties applied. yes, you could spend another hour resting and reading, but then you would be "fatigued" with its penalties and anything that would cause fatigue would exhaust you instead.
I mean the book I just took from Kodo to read through, akin to Rhoekk's skimming through the other one, not full night reading like Amorial

Except the meal from yesterday when I could barely stand, yet alone eat the eggs taste not just fine, but glorious, as she scoops them up. Her decorum is all that prevents her from stuffing up. Not sure if yesterday's events weren't some sort of a dream, Litheene feels inside her to see if the lure of the other power is still there.I presume it is At the realisation that it was not a dream, her mood gets less cheerful, but she conceals it, resisting the powerful urge to taste the alien source. There will be time for that. I will study the nature of what this is, and find a way to control it. I need time, and knowledge, and this place offers plenty of both some part of her feel ominous at that line of thought, as if feeling the wrongness of the other force, but she chooses to focus on making the food instead.
Suddenly Litheene realised the implication of Jasper's words and Kodokura's presence. Jasper, did you travel back to the Black Tower before coming here? Is Taim updated with the results of our envoy trip?
Neither are you Zira. On the contrary, I am still extending my offer of protection, from SHADOWSPAWN Litheene emphasises the word looking at Jasper To you. As long as you choose to travel with us and not leash people that is.

Another level of Aes Sedai, plus finally sorted my stats from pathfinder conversion, and recalculated everything. On the plus side, I had a mistake which I corrected and now I have 1 less defense. On the plus side, skill points and HP now up, from back calc of INT and favored class.

The suldam was sitting alone, lack of sleep showing on her. Without the adam she is no threat. I am no longer a scared rabbit to cover in fear, nor a hateful person to kick a downed enemy. Her expression offers Zira casual acknowledgment, no warmth, no hate. A polite stranger met on the street, her previous acidity and sharpness gone.
Making sure all are there, Litheene approaches Amorial, speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. After a night of sleep, I recalled enough from seeing the Cleansing Yellows' use on poisons, I think I can try to recreate it, for a disease. Everyone please look, the fades may still be waiting for us out there, and it seems we fought more fades since we first joined up than most see in the borderlands for a lifetime, so this weave will be of use for all to know
With that, Litheene draws on the power, laying her hand on Amorial, spirit flowing through him, probing out the mark of the disease, then water flows through, washing it out.
Persistent filth thinks Litheene at the shadow illness' resistance, intensifying her flow.

Cleanse level 5 (slot 3), for +10 to his fortitude. Amorial, you make now a fortitude saving throw against the disease without risk of damage. Add 10 on top of your regular bonus. If you beat it, you now need only 1 successful safe rather than 2. Tomorrow I can use it again, and if you succeed again, you are cured. The healing was enough, he beat the disease nodding to him she says And for you the healing from yesterday turned out to be enough. I wonder if little fades are told tales of the horrible Rhoekk so they behave adds Litheene, in a cheerful mood after the long needed rest.

We did bring it upon ourselves, but we are spun into the wheel again to try again, and we learn to change during our lives. Seanchan fought for the dream of order and unity for it's people. Have you come to know any weaves to protect yourself from others? I heard of it's existence but haven't seen one in action.

Assuming the Dream Shielding weave is shared with her, Litheene will weave it and tie it off. Otherwise, if nobody else does it, Litheene will weave a ward against shadowspawn with her remaining slot 5 (level 7 weave) to cover everything.
I second that as well, having gone the education path.
Education is first of all fun (or was for me). It is also a "badge of withstanding". The Computer science degree doesn't really help one much for example, aside to show a potential employer that you managed to withstand it's trials. It more of a modern initiation test to certain guild benefits, than measure of intelligence or source of thereof.
Litheene finishes her food quickly, eager for a chance to sleep, for the long time without it has taken a toll on her, until she can barely feel herself capable of channeling. While watching the freed Damane, she doesn't say a word. Her friend will know best how to help her.

Pressing on her way to where Chen and Amorial sit, she pauses before them. Gardner, Chen, I heard what you said. I wished not anguish upon you. I was never the great weapon the Suldam tried to make of me, but I helped them in the worst way possible. I made Adam for them. One makes judgment by what he knows. Do not judge yourself for what you did not, that way lies madness. You are a man of honor, I wish for you to find your way.

Aside from RPing a conversation at this point, I am planning to go to sleep. In the past we had an agreement approved by Rizzen to share 1 weave per resting night together per person (1 from each). If someone knows, and willing, to share the Dream Shielding weave, Litheene will be glad to RP asking for it before going to sleep. Other than that, I am not planning any activity that could potentially prevent sleeping.
I seem to remember we did the intro and such a few years back, but then as we were just recently discussing, very few of the original crew are around anymore...

I was actually out sailing in a viking longboat here, though it was admittedly a small one. I was on a vacation in Denmark and went out to a viking seafaring museum. This and some other aspects were a lot of fun. History is a major interest for me.
I'm Canadian, and live in the western Canada; far from anyone who has anything like what American's generally consider a Canadian accent (that's actually more of a rural Ontario accent than anything you'll here elsewhere in the country). I'm a therapist that consults to psychiatric units; specializing in that subset of treatment called Dual Diagnosis or Concurrent Disorders: mentally ill folk who also happen to have substance abuse/addiction issues. Yeah, I think Litheene can count her weaves on one hand at this point. And the last time of rest was in a small town near Tar Valon, long before the laboratory, yet alone the current plot.
Rhoekk's words are true with me. She does as she wishes to her own neck. I am not a Seanchan anymore to test people by force. she says, while observing Chen and Zira with interest.
Most Damane belong to the empress, whom the gardener's serve. And when you have lots of pets, some need to be put down.
Also, it(The Test) would truly victimize(the damane) and mark morally wrong, the methods of brainwashing used on the damane. And since there is infighting among the Seachan(from what I can tell from the books, it has not always been a super peaceful place) during which he would have possibly killed opposing force's damane, who are the victims here.
From what I got, Seanchan try very hard to take Damane alive, and go to extreme length to keep them alive afterwards. If they were enemy soldiers, they are not totally @innocent@ from your perspective.
The test? It's not part of the deal, neither I nor any of the of our side demand it, it's Chen. Also, Litheene did not go back on her deal. Others were not part of it.
The test is because Rhoekk brought up the issue, and since Litheene considers it one of the core wrongs of Seanchan culture, it was expected for her to pick it up. I didn't expect Chen to demand it, I (IC) was planning to preach it to Zira in privet to weaken her resolve for Seanchan.
From Zira's IC perspective, (assuming she doesn't know about this), it should be ridiculous to think she'll fail, so no real concession.
In the books Toun did cope with the knowledge that Suldam are capable of channeling, took her time but she did.
You can choose her answer, even if you fail, or another one. Or you can forgo the whole thing, but I am curious how Chen will react to this.
I was actually planing this as a possible argument against the Adam, with the test including, since they appeared. I didn't think it would come so soon thou. In the books they gave Toun some time to ponder this realisation, which is what I was planning.
