Thanks everyone! :)
Glad to be on the team. I'll change alias and choose avatar today or tomorrow. As well as write appearance for Litheene.

Jasper Firewyn and Alathea Sedai - thanks for your feedback.
OK, looking at the party, I see it doesn't exactly lack channallers.
In any case, my build plans in case of a regular build are:
In case that the build for terangrel oriented character is allowed:
In any case, I'm going more for long term weaves, buffs and such, and less for direct damage. Litheene doesn't like to go back to the ways of damane training, which tried to focus her on using the OP as a weapon, against her natural orientation of delving into it's inner workings and thinking ahead. DM Jonasty - In case you accept this character, I'll write a description, roll the dice and make it.

The story is indeed a stretch, thou it happened during the appearens of a taveren in Falme, according to the timeline. I do not intend the character to actual have the compulsion wave. And the ability of latent channellers to make people like them (latent compuslion) is canon and even considered a common symptom in the books. I considered the option of the handler killed, by then I would have also dies. The leash is not necessary for function. I did just think of a better option thou - Shari could have made some of the adam's rigged, and malfunctioning. One of them got on a newly captured Aes Sedai. Shari confessed the flaw to her, and then during the attack the Aes Sedai was able to escape, and freed Shari, taking her with her.
This way there is no latent compulsion. P.S. in general, according to my understanding of the books, wilders who use latent compulsion do not actually get the real compulsion automatically upon becoming conscious channellers. They maintain the same low level of suggestion ability at best. But anyhow I don't see this part of the story as important in the character design.

OK, seems perfectly fair. My character idea is as follows:I'd like to play an escaped damane named Shari (damane name) - Litheene (birth name), that runs away from the Seanchan to learn and become Aes Sedai. Litheene was born and raised in a low blood house, and originally had a dream to become a scribe, librarian or historian, as she was very curious, intelligent, and liked learning both about the world and about it's cultures. At the age of 16, Litheene found out she could make people like her, or help her, by wishing it really hard and concentrating (latent compulsion). The next year, she was taken at the adam testing, chained as damane and named Shari. As a quick learner and chaneller, even thou she wasn't fully trained yet, Shari displayed the rare ability to create additional adam. Thus, she was chosen to go with the hailene, to help create adam as necessary, despite being newly chained and not fully subdued. After the conquest of falme, was stationed on the city border along with other damane. There Shari heard from newly captured damane about the existance of the white tower and the free live of channalers. Thou scary, the idea enticed her, as she was not willing to give up her dreams, and being especially intelligent, had a hard time accepting herself as an animal. Shari used the ability to channel a meager amount of the one power despite the adam, to use compulsion on a serving boy from among the locals, who was ignorant of the seanchan costume and could be swayed by the premise of a great reward from the white tower for freeing an Aes Sedai (Shari made him believe she is one, and also to fall in love with her). Knowing how to make adam, Shari knew how to open them, and was able to explain it to the serving boy. Not realizing the danger she was in, she tried for freedom. In usual circumstances Shari would have been captured quickly, however, the conveniently timed attack on Falme and the seanchan gave her the opening to make a run for it, and disappear among the chaos. It took Shari another half a year to make her way to the tower, and get accepted as a novice. Litheene grew most attached to sisters from the brown Ajah, seeing her destiny among them, and making good impression on them with her love for knowledge. Her ability to understand and duplicate simple terangreal, also earned her points among the sister, and she was raised to accepted at the age of 19 (current age). Litheene still sometimes uses her damane name, and has a hard time shaking off her seanchan heritage and training, thou she tries to supress it, especially among the sisters from which she seeks acceptance.
Hi, I've found this place and discussion on Google when looking for a community to play in an online WoT d20 campaign. Is there still an option to join in?
Also, is there anyone interested in running a real time game? Using programs like Skype/Messenger to simulate a RL campaign. |
