Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

We can do it with spells we find in the scenario right? Pay the scribing cost and make the roll

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

If 2 days isn’t enough to earn income, What can you do with 2 days?

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

So now new version of Wlecome to Pathfinder (2e) boon?

Shadow Lodge

Still nothing about VO download availability for this or any of the PF2e stuff

Shadow Lodge

Still not getting scenarios even though I got the emails for them.

I can buy them to get them but I’m a VO, shouldn’t they be coming up?

Shadow Lodge

Still no change in things. Not showing up in my downloads

Shadow Lodge

Same here

Shadow Lodge

Still haven’t gotten the latest PFS downloads but got the SFS and Card game stuff.

Shadow Lodge

There is NO season 2 in my list at all. I found the download links on the individual product pages and I have NO access to 10-22 at all. I can buy it but it’s not available by product page or my digital content page

Kind of surprise at some of the stuff..snare kits are 8 bulk?

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

I’m kinda curious as what lasting level 1 items are there. Given and expert item is level 2

Trying to get a feel for what is available at the various levels

Similarly it impedes downloading on my iPhone/Pad from the product page

My curiosity is this.. will we get something similar for PF2? Something to apply to our 1501 PC?

One of the GMs around here likes to do 'knowledge: Local" by some NPCs to see if they recognize players..

Many of my PCs tend towards 'infamous'.

'Boomstick' McCracken.. boozehound of Cayden (inquistor actually)
Glytha "Nanny" Ogg.. sweet old lady who knows EVERYONE. (Knowledge local/history/nobility focused witch with her evil cat Greebo)

It's always fun to find small ways to ham things up without derailing play..

Like tanglefoot shotting a Roc and as it crashes look to the next player in line and go "'Ware falling rocs'

Or .. in a chase scene say 'I'm an old lady sonny.. but I know a secret.." Apsis Agent "What". "I running faster than you now" Hits him with a tanglefoot bag.

The big spoonful for us is that we got a new store (Java Game Haus) running things for these last few months and an old Con that shut down is starting back up (Odds are we won't get onboard THIS year but next year is looking good,

We are entering our 6th year and doing our 5th Cayden's Crawl even this fall ("Never could resist a Fifth..." )

Shadow Lodge

Can’t down load it from my downloads..I get personalizing wait 60 seconds..then nothing.. click on trouble downloading, click here...times out. After 10 or so tries I tried getting it via the product page, can’t view the download tab on my iPad prob

Huh... here's an idea. As soon as 1st ed 'dies' at gencon 2019, reset all scenarios. Every scenario becomes as if you hadn't touched it before. You can once again play and GM it. Your characters keep what they've already got.

This reopens the entire catalog for a second pass through - about 600 games. But at the same time, it offers the same limits on replays and boon fishing that we have now.

I really, really like this idea. It's simple and easy to implement. There is no need to make up any new rules. The only thing I would add is that we make sure we're retaining the rule that says no character can play the same scenario twice, not even once before GenCon 2019 and once after when the reset occurs.
I also think this is great...stops boon farming, but allows full replay

I like this idea too. Sure, people would replay certain scenarios with what they deem to the be the 'right' character to receive the chronicle the second time around but is that really all that different from what happens with the Core campaign or with folks who both GM -and- play a fair amount? And in some cases it's not even a matter of cherry-picking chronicles but a matter of, in retrospect, knowing that your Character A would've had more personal ties to elements of the scenario than the Character B that you actually played. It's a second chance to enjoy a scenario that might've been a subpar experience the first time around, for any number of reasons beyond a player's control - crowded convention hall setting, disruptive tablemates, a poor/inexperienced GM, the game was rushed, etc.

But, if we're limited to the options listed in the first few posts, I'd vote for Option #3 combined with Hilary's Option #5. I'm definitely against true unlimited replay.

Seems the simplest way, perhaps resetting the GM replays as well, or not

As a player who has had more than a few GM blobs come out.. I like Slow advancement.. it lets me play that character longer

I mean, you pile up do for a 3rd, 4th, or higher character you might want to play them out.

My ‘Runelord’ started play @5th level and now that I’m 10th, I want more than 6 sessions as an Mover/Shaker/Empress Maker...

Uh..NO. Just no. I won’t go as far as Tallow but I’ve seen enough LN followers of Asmodeous play ‘lawful asshat’ that I don’t want to further empower them.

I mean two ‘Chelaxian Marshalls’ hassling a Liberies Edge halfling player to ‘prove’ he’s not a slave was bad enough with just Lawful Nuetral (and hard enough to step on then)

Vanish/Invisibility/Greater Invisibility are all definitely on the list.

I was also thinking some assorted defensive spells like Blur, Mirror Image, Shield, etc. would be helpful.

Any must have party buff spells besides Haste and maybe Mage Armor?

I made sure to leave room in my gear budget to buy scrolls to learn new spells as needed, take advantage of some wands, etc.

True but it will work on a +1 keen conductive dagger that you can channel your bolts thru :)

Don’t forget tattoo chamber as an option. Hidden wands are fun.. my slayer/warlock has 2 wands in hers in the Serpents Skull AP we run on our biweekly PFS module night

There are some out there already. They are currently limited play for Cons only by Tonya and a couple others.. maybe we will see them released for general use. (Given my jobs reluctant to allow time off, I don’t see anything aside from Local cons in my future)

That aside, I do not think conversion over will work. I recall my attempts with 2e DND to 3E. Fighter/Wizard/Cleric of Finder...totally different outlook in the outcome

Maybe a ‘credit’ build..like 3-5 levels for one or three PCs... a legacy thing.. tiered based on stars but let’s be honest folks, mid+/high level play won’t be a thing for a season for most folks. So starting out ‘ahead of the group’ means you have to wait for them

Me? Ike tempted to have some of my seekers kkidsk and ‘mentored’ students be my next edition characters

Now maybe a ‘mentor’ or ‘legacy’ boon that ties you to one of your old system characters might be suitable

Yeah, lots of ‘is this equivalent to that’ still needs to be hashed out. Truthfully the rest of the book most likely could have been put up a bit earlier while the class was hashed out.

Truthfully I think the Shifter needs WORK. Just authorize the rest of the book and wait till the devs fix it.

Most of the folks I know want other things from the book, like poison harvesting, feats, and boons with the magic plants (they are too awesome for regular use but they scream ‘chronicle boon’)

Basically if you have spells in a spell book ( or familiar) you have to buy spells..no bonus ones..

If your a spontaneous caster you gain the number of spells equal to your equivalent spell caster level.

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

I honestly couldn’t see myPcs with this boon.

The seeker level PCs have too much dirt or dislike for some of the society reps (Drendle an Osprey) but other Vic’s I love...particularly VC Calisaro.. I love her entire concept

Of course conversely there are certain VCs who loath some of my PCs.. they sat ‘arson and mayhem’ my characters say ‘the other guys started it’

Good thing some PCs don’t go back to Ustalav

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

Hhmmm my Seeker Aasimar Paladin/Swashbuckler has tried to get everything remotely tied to the emerald spire and go from there..

She speaks: Abyssal, Aklo, Ancient Osiriani, Aquan, Auran, Azlanti, Celestial, Common, Cyclops, Daemonic, Draconic, Dwarven, Elder Thing, Elven, Giant, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Hallit, Ignan, Infernal, Kelish, Orc, Orvian, Osiriani, Polyglot, Protean, Shoanti, Skald, Sylvan, Terran, Thassilonian, Tien, Undercommon, Varisian

Okay is that a constructive response? I can calm down.

Yes that is true. There is no perfect anything. I like something I can use immediately and make better. a Composite Longbow is far from flawless, but it doesnt require levels in the Gunslinger to use it.

Early Firearms intentionally have flaws that cannot be fixed. Normally I would think about upgrading to Advanced firearms, but that isnt allowed in the Society Campaign. In that case I just dont use Early Firearms now.

The real problem is course find ways to exploit what you have. Have a hard time getting full use out of your long range weapons? Fly away, use vanish/Invisibility/Greater Invisibility, teleportation of some kind.

Now if I could see a Pistol working in conjunction with Hold Person, or Fireball, that would be something.

How about answering the question posted earlier in the thread.

Have you played a gunslinger to 12th level in PFS play?

I have played up to 11.25 (Been waiting for a chance to shoot Torch).
I have about.. five characters who are gunslingers. Not all of them have the '5th level' perk.

A lot of the folks that responded to your posts have said THEIR experiences and your comments don't match what we've seen.

Your posts about the content of the class reflect largely from the books but repeatedly we've posted about our experience in play.

Killing something #1 In Combat, #2 that isnt helpless, and #3 is actually a challenge close to your level.

If you use 2 Grit points on a single enemy or not gaining back from Grit spent means youre wasting it.

Talking About Grit profiting here. It can be that absurd.

Compare that to Ranged Disarm that costs a feat slot but can be used unlimited times. At least then youre doing something different from just doing damage.

And pray tell, how often do you spend 2 grit in one action?

THe only time any of my gunslingers have ever used more than a grit point for a single attack was to hit a guy 4 range increments out.

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

ChaosTicket wrote:

This has been more focused on Firearms than the Gunslinger itself.

Grit is a very finite resource, often in the single digits. Unlike other class based resources it doesnt increase with level. Its based on only one statistic naturally, Wisdom. That makes it a secondary statistic to focus on, but even then you never enough to really let loose with Deeds.

Unless youre in an open game where you can do Dares, its fairly hard to regain Grit. Critical Hits are the only steady way and Firearms arent exactly good with Natural 20 Critical Threat. None of the Deed abilities are useless but when its that hard to regain Grit the quality of what you use them for is important.

Its harder to justify losing out on all the abilities you can gain for one singular ability you rarely can use.

Several Deeds are versions of Feats. Clustered Shots, Ranged Disarm.

Compare that to say casting Vanish, Fly, Polymorph("hmm, what can I do with 4 arms?"), or just a huge amount of extra skill points.

You left out that KILLING something regaining grit.

Speaking not just for myself but the other Jacksonville Fl gunslingers I don't see a lot of grit loss/deficit being an issue. Yes, I've run out of grit on my PCs, but usually a gunshot at the right moment fixes it more than a crit does.

Speaking as someone with ...4 gunslingers..advanced firearms aren’t needed. All of them have been effective. Though each has taugh me something

-Kyrie Grenadier/Musket M 11: will saves require attention. This bears repeating. WILL SAVES REQUIRE ATTENTION. I didn’t get precise shot till 7th and the I learned the short range increment is not the end of a gunslingers increment.
-Boomstick Gun Tank/Spellbreaker/Shield Marsh 10: Blunderbusses suck, except as a splat gun after about 4th level Feat economy on any gunslinger. You don’t need the magic 5th level of Dex to damage to be efffective
- Kalie: Pistolero 3: Being a martial class sometimes means that you might be more useful flanking with a dagger-pistol/rapier to the party than slinger lead.
=Tessa Gunslinger/Battlehost 1: Being a flexible character is more useful to the party than putting a hail of lead down range (skills, equipment, filling in a missing niche like healer, etc)

Won’t lie would love access to a Pepperbox rifle, especially after an encounter with them on the other side
Even after it’s nerf, abundant ammo has uses. As does a lot of spells (bestow Weapon Prof to get the full use out of my rail gun)

My point..Gunslingers do NOT need advanced firearms to be useful. If you think they do, you are mistaken or have too high an expectation of what you want out of them

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Florida—Jacksonville aka Kyrie Ebonblade,

Soooo.. the Old Lore Warden is still kinda/sorta/maybe legal till otherwise stated? I’m asking cause I don’t see anything in the AR or CC YET, and folks are wondering if they need to rebuild or wait.

What's the record between updates to current items? 6-7 months?

If you're wondering about the rate of PRD updates, neither the similarly contentious Ultimate Equipment errata nor Ultimate Intrigue are in there yet. Nor is anything more recent. So there is a lot of backlog to work through before the Adventurer's Guide makes its way on there.

For all intents and purposes, this change might as well never be happening.

Don't get me wrong, having heard John Compton lay out his normal workload I try very hard to be patient. Most times the folks do a great job keeping up, and when they fall behind I try to remind myself how many different jobs they do. Planning, coordination this season with up products, reviewing things on the board, answering things on the boards in helpful and well laid out ways, editing, etc.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes from what little folks say. Many hats, many jobs.
