Kodo sprints alongside Alathea, and the adrenalin caused by imminent death lends his feet wings and his lungs air. However after about a mile, he notices Alathea pulling up. "We must keep going, or we're dead," he calls. When it becomes obvious she can no longer keep running, he grits his teeth, realising he cannot abandon her. "You've always been a Light-blinded fool for a slim pair of hips and pretty smile, my boy," he murmurs to himself. "Now it'll be the death of you." Kodo runs back to Alathea's side. "We're stronger linked, but we can spread our attacks wider working separately." Having said that, he drops the link; being his first time in a circle with a woman, the effect on Alathea is jarring, as if she'd been dropped on her heels from three feet in the air. "Let's burn these goat-kissers," he snarls, even though he is already somewhat fatigued from channelling earlier.
Seeing Rhoekk agree to leave, Kodo gives Alathea's hand a squeeze. "Time to go," he says simply, then turns and pulls her with him to retreat with the others.
Kodokura is almost stunned by the feeling of being a part of a circle, and for a moment loses interest in the outside world. As a result, he is insensate when Rhoekk defeats the trolloc with a single blow, and only comes to as Ryvin releases the circle. Finding himself holding hands with Alathea, and neither understanding nor questioning why, he looks at her without a trace of surprise, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Sorry, I've found my way to Ireland, and connectivity here is brutal... Although not as brutal as Rizzen. Still can't view the map, what's the situation? Apart from the obvious super trolloc, are there many left? Who's leaving? As far as I can gather, Chen, Alatgea, and Rhoekk are staying, is this right? Apologies again, I'n doing my best to keep abreast of the situation!
Standing next to Alathea, and seeing her attention snap to the mass of trollocs charging out of the fort, Kodo resigns himself to not running yet. With a mere thought he sends another ball of fire towards the group at the back.
Rizzen, are you saying I can't pick an epicentre for my fireball (which has a radius of 50') 75' away so that my friends and I aren't hit? So do WoT fireballs work completely differently from regular Pathfinder/D&D fireballs? I don't understand. My friends are not within the blast radius, they aren't hit, unless WoT fireballs act in a way I don't understand. Please explain.
Kodokura hurls a fiery ball at the mass of trollocs on the party's right (the ones above us on the map).
Kodo then grabs Alathea's arm. "Time to go - after Ryvin!" If Alathea is an agreement, Kodo will take off after Ryvin.
Rizzen, would it be ok to assume Kodo is with Chen and Alathea? Or is he somewhere else?
France is excellent! Playing some nice music with some nice folks in and around Paris at the moment, and the museums and monuments are awesome :) On fait les accents dans l'iphone. Mais il y a des codes pour les rendre pour PC, en utilisant 'alt' et quatre chiffres.

Sorry, I've been totally distracted by a whirlwind trip to France. I'll get into it the next couple of days, but I'm likely to be spotty for the next month or so; feel free to DMPC as needed.
As Alathea enters the door, Kodokura sighs and follows her, his face apprehensive, embracing the Source as he does so.
Kodokura sighs audibly, even as he ignores Landa's speech, then steps forth. "I'm not quite sure why, except that I'm sure that I'm more expendable than most of the rest of you. Let me go first, and witness what happens." He waits for confirmation to move forth.
Kodo stares at the door still through Analin's diatribe, and waits for Alathea to finish before responding. He then turns to the Green sister. "Your pardon, Analin Sedai," he says in the same everyday tone as before. "Do I take it, then, that as the only adult one among us you also oppose the idea of traipsing like woolheaded children through this strange portal, of which we know absolutely nothing, that leads us to a place we know absolutely nothing about?" He opens his mouth sharply, but closes it and takes a deep breath before continuing. "It is good to know there is someone of sense among us, who will consider possible risks and rewards. I'm sure, for example," he continues in the same easy way, "that you have considered that the door may hold Power-wrought traps, ones which may admit nonliving material but trigger upon the passage of live creatures. But of course you did. And I'm sure you have also ensured that we will neither be ambushed, nor stranded, in whatever unknown place we find ourselves." Kodo dips low on one knee, head bowed and hand upon his heart. "Honour to serve," he says, his voice perfectly respectful, "Analin Aes Sedai."
EDIT: I may have a chance to eventually have fought every person in this group, either physically or philosophically. Haha. Bring it on big guy :)
Kodo's tone is conversational as his eyes consider the portal before the party, but his words border on insolence as he answers Merdrith. "We are still acting too far hastily for a group of grown men and women. But it seems my words will continue to go unheard. The least we can do is wait for our companions. I had never before considered that Aes Sedai could be as foolhardy as girls with ribbons in their hair. But here we are." throughout his statement he adresses no one in particular, his gaze still firmly on the door.
"You are all mad - and when the one telling you that is a male channeller that dips his soul in the taint of saidin daily, you should be questioning your sanity. But my orders are to watch over all of you, and I will do so, regardless of where, or how, you travel. I will be accompanying whoever enters that door," Kodo says resolutely.
Kapow. Ok, really hope the new rules aren't gimpy (and suspect they might be), but on the other hand, Kodo could certainly use a rebuild; his severing completely screwed up the progression I'd planned for him, resulting in him being next to useless. This'll probably take me some time for me to implement, though...
Kodokura watches Ryvin and Keelix leave, his expression unreadable. He then turns to Alathea, his face expressionless but for a tiny, infrequent twitch of his right eyebrow. "Entering that door could have killed you both - or worse. How could...?" He cuts himself off as his voice begins to rise just a little, then takes a deep breath and continues on in the same mild tone with which he began. "Do you have such little regard for your own safety? Asha'man Jasper has entrusted me with watching over you all. I didn't realise I would need to watch over you as one watches over foolhardy children." Having said his piece, Kodo turns on his heel, intending to exit the room.
"It would be imprudent," Kodokura says levelly to no one in particular, his eyes fixed on the door in question. "There is too much risk involved, and no evidence of possible gain. We know nothing of what we're dealing with. It is not bravery to walk into the Blight with one's eyes closed, but foolishness." He very pointedly does not challenge either Alathea or Merdrith with his eyes, but addresses the door itself.
The dishes cleaned, Kodo decides to find the others who have left the room. Heading upstairs, he finds them examining the doors. "What goes on here?" he enquires curiously.
As an aside, I just got an offer today to do my masters in international relations (I only applied yesterday). Excited! Now I just have to graduate in the top 2%, and I should be right to get a job as a diplomat :)
Well, what's the plan folks? Kodo knows next to nothing about what's going on, and I'll admit to being a little sketchy on our goals myself. Loving the RP, but Kodo has little to add at this stage given that you're a bunch of strangers. Shall we fight some stuff or something? Also, there happens to be a male angreal (sa'angreal?) in Alathea's bag of goodies, if anyone can think of a good reason to tell Kodo that and lend it to him, in the interest of the party of course, I'd not be averse to that... Just sayin' :)
I've been waiting for the flame and void feat for four levels... And I still have to wait for one more. It better be still on the menu.
When Alathea exits the room, Kodokura puts down the last dish and begins wiping his hands. "Forgive my curiosity Aes Sedai, but how did you come to be here in this place? The idea of it being a coincidence seems unlikely."

Analin shakes her head again. "She is not Aes Sedai." She looks at Alathea. "I mean no offense, Alathea, but it is best if you do not encourage your companions to continue calling you that. You know the penalties for posing as Aes Sedai. An Aes Sedai more prone to taking offense might decide to call you to Tower judgment if they overhear them calling you Alathea Sedai." Alathea nods at Analin's suggestion, though she does not look happy. "I do not claim to be Aes Sedai, nor do I encourage my companions to treat me as one. And as much as I would wish differently, Asha'man Kodokura is my companion for but a very short amount of time, now. Perhaps he is unused to thinking of me as me and not my reflection here, and is being formal out of habit. It is an honest mistake, yes?" Kodo nods at Alathea's explanation. "I struggle to separate you from... her." He turns to Analin. "An honest mistake indeed, and not one I'll make again, Analin Sedai. In Shienar, a man must err always on the side of politeness with a woman, and with Aes Sedai doubly so." When Alathea exits the room, Kodokura puts down the last dish and begins wiping his hands. "Forgive my curiosity Aes Sedai, but how did you come to be here in this place? The idea of it being a coincidence seems unlikely."
Kodokura accepts the coin from Jasper. "Stay well, brother," he murmurs, watching him leave. In response to Ryvin's musings, he nods even as he sighs. "No offence taken, Ryvin. It pays to be concerned. People are often both too fearful, but not wary enough, of male channellers. Asha'man Jasper is a... unique person, yet I don 't know where I'd be without him. I hope he is still himself next time we meet."
Alathea smiles at Kodokura's words. It is small and over quickly, but it holds no sadness or irony--indeed, she looks genuinely pleased and maybe a bit relieved. "Thank you, Kodokura, but you have no need to apologize, yes? Finding the mirrors of those you know is not something you usually need to expect. And if you must apologize, then so must I apologize for mistaking you for one I knew, yes?" Head down, Kodo misses the smile, but when Alathea finishes speaking he shakes his still lowered head. "You have no need to apologise to me, Aes Sedai. In fact," he continues, raising his eyes with a small half-smile, another very familiar expression to Alathea, "your greeting was far preferable to the one I could expect from the Red Sister I know." Kodo's eyes then dart to the Green Sister next to her; his smile fades away to leave his customary stoicism, and he picks up the final unwashed plate, concentrating on it intently as he sets to cleaning it.
Kodo takes in as much of the various conversations as he can. His eyes follow Rhoekk out the door, and he strains his ears for sounds of further conflict coming from another room, but his attention is caught by Analin and Alathea's conversation. He catches Alathea's look just before she finishes speaking, and nodding at her words, he says to her across the room, "I, too, am glad you are not the Sister from this... reflection of the Wheel. Thinking you were, I acted as I did upon meeting you. I apologise, Alathea Sedai." He then bows his head to concentrate on the last of the washing up.
Cleaning up after the cooking, Kodo merely observes the other around him silently and discreetly.
Then she comes up to Kodokura. Ashaman Kodokura, first, it is my pleasure of meeting you. I came to know a man quite like you not long ago, and I pray to light that we work together as well, barring his last moments. As she nods. You have in your possession a... Kodokura bows slightly to Litheene. "Peace, Litheene Sedai. My sword is yours. Of course you may examine it, although I'd very much like to read it myself once you're done." He hands the book over promptly.
Nudge nudge :) Question for Rizzen: would the touch of death weave be available to asha'man? I'd really like to get that one :) It seems up their alley... Also, how do hp increases work again?
As Alathea approaches where he and Jasper have been preparing breakfast, Kodo watches her warily but unobtrusively. So many strange things she says. I don't understand half of it... but I feel that I need to, that it's important for my... destiny? Hardly understanding his own thoughts, Kodo merely nods politely and spoons some eggs onto a plate for her. But how to bring it up?
Frowning - and perhaps blushing a little - at Jasper's initial gibe, Kodokura reacts swiftly to the request for assistance. He is used to Jasper's roundabout and non-linear mode of communication; normally the more obtuse the explanation,the more important the topic. As such, he pays close attention to his superior's words, filing them away for further examination later as he assists with the food preparation.
Kodo blinks, then offers a small smile. "Women in Shienar will say what they prefer to be called as well; but until their wishes are made known, it's best for a man to err on the side of courtesy. Peace favour you, Ryvin."
Kodo closes his eyes as Ryvin takes his hand, his face calm, but after a moment his eyes open suddenly, his face blank. Once Ryvin releases him, he looks her in the eye for a moment, then says solemnly, "Peace favour you, mistress." He follows his words with a small bow of his head.
Kodo regards Ryvin's outstretched hand for a long moment with an impenetrable expression. "I don't feel mad... though I've heard that mad folk often don't." He nods once slowly. "There's only one way to find out. Please, would you?"
Kodo looks to Jasper, and (assuming no forbidding looks or words from him) approaches Ryvin slowly. "What exactly is this weave you speak of? It... eases the mind, you say? Could you tell me more about it?"
Kodokura approaches Jasper immediately upon waking. "Brother, what are we doing here? This situation is far stranger than what I was led to believe. Who are all these others? Tensions are high; they don't appear to be one group, but a mixed bunch, many of whom seem completely opposed to each other. Just whose side are we on, and where do we go from here?"

No psych here... My boring life:
I've been a professional musician since my teens, have scraped a BA in Lit/Soc/Phil, grad studies mainly in journalism, worked all sorts of jobs along the way (from high school teacher to taxi driver), now a freelance musician, journalist, and copywriter. Hoping to do my Masters in International Relations next year with twin focuses on diplomacy and security. I have been married (no longer) and have a daughter and a step-son, both awesome. Mid-thirties, though I look much older with a beard and much younger without one :) I've always lived in Australia (it's a big country, but I've seen most of it), though I hope to change that in the intermediate future. Interests include literature, languages, sports (playing and watching), poker, word puzzles (particularly cryptic crosswords), salsa dancing, and harmonica. And wine. And it also seems that I like talking about myself....
Kodo blinks twice at Alathea's words to him - a familiar mannerism to her, a placeholding one, his common reaction of freezing in the face of the unexpected to buy himself time in which to construct further response. In this case, he seems unable to come up with anything. Instead, he waits, then nods supportingly at her words to Zira.
