I'm really sorry but I'm not going to get a character made for this game. As much as I liked the concept and wanted to try out the rest house/optional rules I'm a little stretched time wise.

Apologies!

Dotting for interest. I'll have to think over what kind of character I'd like to try out...

Not great... We've got a bug going through the whole family :(
I've had very little sleep getting up several times a night to check temperatures etc.

Dot

Dot, I shall be working on a Slicer :)

Interested!

I've not seen the revised core rules for a very long time... :)

I think I still have a copy lying around, and I'd be happy to play it too.

I have all the saga books

So I'm fine with either (assuming I can find my old copy of RCR.)

Would we be doing missions for the rebellion?

Study Dwarven Cleric is in the works...

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12

Still working on my character, I've just been very busy with the holidays. I've just got to finish off his backstory and get him posted under an alias.

Gonna be working on a Human Colonist, Politico. A young man trying to stir up trouble for the Empire on the rim.

Dotting for interest! I'd love to play some FF EotE!

I'll start working on a character :)

Happy Holidays everyone.

It's Christmas Eve here, we've all got our new Christmas Pjs on, watching The Santa Clause and listening to the thunder storm :)

4. The players may choose 1 career to follow and will gain all Basic Training skills for that career, plus may advance 1 term in this career. Due to the primitive conditions, this constitutes training from either your parent or another adult who actually served in the career.
5. The player next takes 3 more terms in one of the following careers:
Citizen (Worker only), Drifter (Scavenger only), Rogue (Thief only), Scholar (Physician only), and finally Army (Support & Infantry only).

Sorry, seems I misinterpreted this... that's ok. I'll get rid of the last term and probably drop my Medic skill by 1 so I can keep Engineer (Life support) at 2

Whoops kind of just grabbed the book and went for it there. I've just reread your character generation guidelines and realised I've done completely the wrong thing...

Slightly embarrassed... I'll just go make my character now :-\ sorry.

    Awesome!!

University Event: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 Ok... War has come... I'm drafted into the army maybe..

SOC: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 Yep drafted into the army so I need to change term 2 anyway...

1d6 ⇒ 2 drafted into the Army. So I have to do Army for term two, correct?

That's weird. Why would anyone do university then?

    Basic Training

For your first career only, you get all the skills listed in the Service Skills table at Level 0 as your basic training. For any subsequent careers, you may pick any one skill listed in the Service Skills table at Level 0 as your basic training.

The book says for your first Career only and university isn't a career. I think I still get the Basic Training skills...

Rereading through the university rules I've realised I missed the event table roll...

    EDU +1 to 12

    Graduation INT: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 1 = 4 Ah nuts... So I just go onto a career now as a failed Uni student... so much like real life :D

    Term 2
    Scholar Entry INT: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 5) + 1 = 11 Success.
    Physician.

So I gain the service skills at level 0
    Drive
    Electronics
    Diplomat
    Medic
    Investigate
    Science

As I already have the Electronics, Medic, and Science skills do I increase their rank by 1 or just keep them at their current ranks?

I'll roll on the physician table: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Medic. So I raise my Medic skill by 1 rank.
    Survival Roll EDU: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12

    Events : 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
You are given advanced training in a specialist field. Roll EDU 8+ to gain any one skill of your choice at level 1.

EDU : 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11 cool I'm a little confused about what rank my skills are at already.. I might take electronics at level 1 if it isn't already or if it is I'll take Engineer (Life Support) 1

    Advancement EDU : 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6 I don't advance but I can conitnue with the Scholar career next term.

  • No worries. I had a busy night last night, I'll get started right now.

Bought the Roll20 module of Volo's guide today. It's really great! So many great new monsters and some great maps that I can't wait to drop into my campaign. Really cool to have the token art too.

I'll still be picking up the physical book as soon as I can of course...

Yeah, that's what I thought. It won't take much effort to bust my Dwarf cleric back down to 1st level but I'll also make a couple of other characters as well. I'd really like to play a Battle Master Fighter or a Wizard and haven't had the opportunity yet.
    (I mainly GM)

I'd definitely be interested. I have one Adventurers League character but I'm not sure how legal he'd be... he played in a Lost Mine of Phandelver Pbp that never reached the end and I haven't got a log sheet or if I did I never recorded it?

I'd happily roll a a first level character though and play any module you'd like to run!

Yeah I'm not a fan of Drow as a playable race, and I was surprised to see their entry in the PHB. Still if someone really wanted to play one I'd probably allow that. In my current home brew campaign though Elves are a (long ago arrived) alien race, that destroyed their last planet, sucking its life force dry for magical energy. Humans are the result of Elven experimentation on Orcs and the Duergar (decendants of the Dwarves that never made the move to the surface) are taking the place of the Drow, though they are not the main focus of the campaign.

Thanks for thinning out the bad guys :D

    My vote is

    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
    2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16

Thinking of making a Human Ranger. Dragomir Novikov, Monster Hunter.

While I don't foam at the mouth when I think of a certain drow, I don't mind FR. It was the first campaign setting I ever played in (before that we just made homebrew settings.)

I'm looking forward to the new monsters mainly (being the GM), but the extra playable races could be a bonus...

I've always been pretty meh...about different races, though the world I'm designing seems to support the idea by chance rather than intentional design.

Yeah I'm generally a fan of the more 'standard' fantasy races myself: Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dwarf, Half-Orc, Halfling and maybe Gnome.

Hey Storyteller Shadow, I'd be down for a Werewolf the apocalypse game :) I've only every played a mortal in WoD (and I believe that was in NWoD). I don't have the WtA book though.

He loves the small town, though he still ventures out for a wander every few years to gather more tales, jokes and tunes.
