Kibra watches the whole argument and bickering take place from a few feet away from the group. He acts busy checking over his equipment and stretching, but his mind and focus remain on the political moving's of the group.
Is greas making a power move against Thunk? I don't think that is wise
As the plan is finally developed to stick together Kibras anxiety eases a bit and his adrenaline begins to pump as the thrill of the stalk begins to come into play. As Greas stumbles loudly out of the door, clearly trying too hard to appear in control of his emotions, Kibra calls out Meep (his pet rat). Meep scurries from the little pouch on Kibra's belt and moves up to Kibra's shoulder. From his station Meep smells, watches and listens to the area around him as Kibra begins to stalk and track his "prey".
Track(+WIS +Meep's Cunning): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 = 15
I should be able to follow the trail of the deathclaw until there's a significant change in its direction or mode of travel. From there I would like to use my +10 to gain a useful bit of information about my quarry.
Kibra drops into an athletic stance, and begins to move, following the trail he and Meep can discern. As he reaches the first building he stops and turns to look at the rest of the group, ready to continue forward as they move.

Kibra relieves pressure on the limbs of his bow, relaxing the string. He chooses to keep the arrow knocked...just in case. Never can be too careful, might be a trap. Kibra thinks as he looks around for any other threats.
Someone bind and gag the little pig. Be cautious for any traps. I'll keep over-watch, but it doesn't look like there is anything nefarious going on. Perhaps we can stuff some of their more palatable food stuffs into out sacks to replenish some of our provisions.
Is there anything else of use to us? He looks around at the mostly empty armory for any arrows or equipment that could prove useful.
Hegh did you see anything from the windows?

Hearing Greas' plan Kibra jumps at the opportunity to comply. Always the good student, Kibra knocks an arrow and hops over to the wall of the room. His dash to the wall places him into a position that is somewhat to the flank of the quivering sound.
Waiting for the action of another, Kibra remains at full draw, ready to release the arrow that will fly true into the target.

Kibra readies for action behind the door. Knocking an arrow and applying slight pressure on the string of his bow. As he feels the thin rope in his finger-pads he is hit by a bit of nostalgia. Kibra and this bow have been through so much.
I remember building this bow as a child. Shredding bark of the Sourgum trees found in the swamp, I had to split and roll the fibers into the springy, thin and resilient string that is the lifeblood of this weapon.
As the memory fades, Kibra looks down to his bow. Better days, simpler days... As he looks up the shaft of his arrow, something clicks.
Smoog said we should try to make my arrows into traps! I need something that slows or stops our enemies, making easier targets. What if tie two arrows together at the middle, add some weight to the nock and fire them at the same time.... yes that should work.
Kibra frantically grabs another arrow, stretches some scrap tripwire between the two and adds small stones to the knock area, creating an improvised arrow bolo of sorts. Firing the arrows with his forefinger between them should send them off in slightly opposite directions (less than 5 degrees) as the tripwire connects with the target's legs the weight of the knocks causes the arrows to wrap around 2 or three times.
As Kibra hears Greas' plan he nods in agreement. This should work well, we can stay a bit in front and scout for the group. Someone should keep a map of sorts for Sees. Anxious to try out his new trap arrows, Kibra steps to the front of the group near the door and readies for its opening.

Kibra looks to Hegh, Pork and Krish, studying them for a moment... watching the way the step and move their bodies.
Alright scout team, lets move out, we are tasked to report on what is going on up top. I think it would be best if we head back to the grated exit of the sewers that you flew out of, Hegh.
As Kibra moves with the scout group he crouches, diminishing his size to roughly half his full standing size. As observed he moves like a gecko, smoothly darting from one space to another, taking a moment to watch and darting again.
Kibra looks back to the group before moving out of sight.
Let us move, time is against us... Keep your footsteps light and reduce your silhouette. Keep your outline against a backdrop and try to blend. Always anticipate someone turning around that next corner.

Kibra is relieved to be back to his natural color. He is unsure of how the pen will come in handy, but he places it into his pack.
Kibra stays with Smoog and watches his tinkering intently, like a student on their first visit to museum, Kibra is wide eyed and soaking in as much as he can about gears and cogs.
The "magic" of these machines is impressive, I will learn to use them in my traps.
Smoog, now that we have some time to rest, can you show me how to make a spring activated mechanism that traps the subjects foot, sloweing them for my arrows?
Thinking about a bear trap or something. With Greas here, I am contemplating dropping my trapping habits. Not sure yet.
Kibra stays relatively clueless to the goings on with Hegh and Sees. Although he notices Smoog's watchful eye and he is aware that Sees is troubled and acting different.
As everyone settles down to rest, Kibra climbs the wall to a small ledge where he takes his rest. He always feels more comfortable being above the action. For some reason it calms him, reminding him of his nights in the swampland. Listening to the soothing drumming of Krish, he rests well, reminded of home...
As he still himself against the wall and the ledge his scales begin to blend in with his surroundings. Unless you knew he was there you would likely miss him entirely.

Missed a day and came back to 20+ posts. Goodness!
Ok End of session stuff:
Resolved Bonds:
Sees has changed so much since I last saw her, is she still the same young Kobold I remember? This seems to be the only one I would resolve, I would say See's has changed since I last knew her. She is not the young kobold I grew up with. +1 XP
Alignment:
Chaotic (free someone from literal or figurative bonds)
Definitely freed some folks from literal bonds this session. +1 XP
Questions:
Did we learn something new and important about the world?
Learned of new members of our party, of the new clan of Kobolds and learned about deathclaws. +1 XP
Did we overcome a notable monster or enemy?
I will agree with the others, the town of Estr may be considered a notable enemy. At the least I could say the Dragonborn. +1 XP
Did we loot a memorable treasure?
No, maybe the pen? I wont count it unless anyone else does
Level Up:
Not Yet, I have 8 XP now, I think I need 10 to Level.

Kibra now noticing his color change loses his mind.
WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO ME!
Realizing he may have been to loud he quiets some.
We must find a way to get rid of this horrid color. My green is my everything. Perhaps someone in the group can help me figure this pen out.
I hope its reversible.
Watching Greas go over the door and point out the traps Kibra is impressed and appears to be taking mental notes of the tricks on display.
Agreeing with Greas that the trap door may be challenging and dangerous right now, he follows him back to camp.
Smoog, look what this wretched device has done to my scales. Can you take a look at it and help me reverse it?

Kibra grabs the pen from Greas, a bit perturbed at his demand for results.
I don't know if he is still pissed about the spear or if Greas is still just a bully...
Looking at the pen intently Kibra does not notice his scales changing color.
Looks like its just a pen.
Kibra attempts to write and scribble on the other side of the map paper.
Meh, I guess I will figure this out later, we should keep moving. I fear we may be tracked into the sewers once the chaos above dies down.
Kibra begins to follow Greas. Watching him go over the door with a smoothness and finesse of an expert.

Fall Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Kibra falls and performs a tuck and roll, avoiding any serious harm from the fall.
Collecting himself and spotting the Deathclaw he is utterly amazed.
Never have I seen such a magnificent creature.
Hearing the call for retreat and the threatening posture Thunk and Hegh have taken, Kibra gets the clue.
Falling back with the group, I will cover your retreat, Thunk!
Kibra bounds back to the other side of the structure, away from the Deathclaw. Once a safe distance away from danger, Kibra turns and draws his bow. Aiming for the creatures leg, Kibra hopes to hobble the creature to aid in the escape (if needed).
Called Shot: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10
Called Shot Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Landing his shot, the arrow sinks deep into the creatures thigh. As the arrow enters his hide it continues through to the large leg bone. The arrow stops with a loud and reverberating beat as it collides with the bone. Kibra's goal was achieved the Deathclaw has been hobbled and is now slow moving.
That should slow the creature enough to get away safely.

I think it was a dwarf I was caged with, not that that really matters yet.
As soon as Kibra is released from his cage he runs past the mess that once was his jailer, as Greas goes to town on his face.
Finding his bow where he dropped it Kibra grabs it up and throws it around his shoulder, wearing it like a slinged weapon.
I cant see a damn thing in here!
Having a difficult time seeing much more than a foot or two in front of him Kibra looks up. Remembering the shooter on the rafters:
Perhaps if I can get up there I might be able to actually see what is going on down here and lend my arrows wherever they are needed.
Rushing as carefully as he can with limited vision, Kibra heads towards the nearest wall. Finding a large support beam, Kibra grasps hold of the wood, digging his claws into the hardwood. He propels himself up the wall easily. In fact he is reminded of his time in the swamps climbing trees and vines to find the opportune vantage point.
Ahh, nostalgia. How far have I gone in such a short time? What I wouldn't give to be back at the mountain hunting birds and trapping reptiles...
As Kibra reaches the top and swings to the rafter he spots the blood of the archer he nailed earlier. Kibra, still unable to see much un-snaps his spear and begins to follow the trail along the rafter. Finally he spots the archer, tending her wound on a cross beam.
Getting as close as he feels comfortable with, Kibra lunges out at the distracted archer. Aiming center mass, Kibra hopes to inflict damage and push her off.

Damage to Greas: 1d8 ⇒ 7
As Kibra thrusts his spear at the guard it plants firmly into flesh just as he had planned. In the confusion of all the acrobatics he did not judge the location of his target correctly. The spear head found its way into his ally Greas's thigh.
Realizing his error Kibra panics.
Damn!
In his panic Kibra pulls the spear back from Greas. Likely causing more damage than if he had left it be. With the spear back from the action outside the cage Kibra has to develop a plan of action.
I had better leave Greas to his own actions. It seems I have only done more harm than good. Perhaps I can work on my own situation and see if I can get out of this cage.
As Kibra turns to the lock on the cage he shouts to the other captives in draconic:
Slaves, prepare yourselves! You are now given a chance for freedom. The question you will have to answer is how badly you want it? How much do you despise your captivity? As soon as I fling this cage open you must rush out, secure any sort of weaponry you can and bring destruction upon your ex-captors. Those with experience I ask that you stay close to the fray. Destroy the guards and undercut their defense. Those of you with little experience fighting run out into the crowd, slay those who flee. Cut down their women and younglings, just as they have done to ours. Make them regret ever taking you captive.
To the dwarf he says: Dwarf grab something sharp and do damage!

I could see the struggle with maps from a GM perspective being trying to marry position with how you need the consequences to take place.
A bad roll for an attack or volley would let you as a GM put them into danger but with a map you may not be able to create the danger as the enemy is too far away. Maybe I'm overthinking that.
I guess with PbP the time element is under the GM control as well so you could just say that the PC stood stupefied for a few seconds as the goblin traveled the distance...

Kibra lands with a heavy thunk into the slave cage.
What the heck happened there? I didn't even see the stinking pigskin.
Seeing Greas go to town on his jailer, Kibra is shocked to see an old friend...or at least an old acquaintance. Kibra is not sure where they really sat on the "friend scale". Long time no see Greas! As usual you seem to have my back.
Recollecting himself, Kibra releases his spear from its clasp on his quiver. As his jailer is wrestling with Greas and his acrobatics skills, Kibra thrusts his spear firmly toward the guard's hip.

Seeing Thunk bat at a large crossbow bolt, Kibra traces the shot back to see a sneaky pigskin in the rafters.
Target Acquired...
As Kibra draws his arrow back he sees a group of 3 guards running towards his allies. Thunk handles the first as the other two remain ready to pounce.
Better make this count!
Kibra launches 3 arrows back to back in a very rapid succession. His motion is smooth as he releases his grip on the string and reaches into his quiver knocking another arrow and adjusting his aim to the next target. Kibra hears the call to action and is nervous and excited. Like a young Kobold before their first assignment.
Smoog, I agree with your plan. The most unexpected advance on the building would be the direct advance. We will likely encounter a few civilians and merchants fleeing from the damage our allies are laying down but they should be easily handled.
What we need to watch for are any other troops who will be traveling in the same direction as us.
Taking a second or two to ponder this threat, Kibra appears to have a light bulb go off.
Tessith and Smoog go ahead, I will hang back 10-20 paces, watching our rear and ready to engage anyone who attempts to tangle you up. If at all possible don't stop.
Kibra ducks to a crouched position and hugs the edge of the path. Staying close to tents and stalls as they make their way down the path. Leapfrogging to the next tent or stall. Every 3-5 seconds Kibra stalls to check the rear approach to the group.

Whispering: Smoog great trick, now we don't have to worry about him making any noise.
Kibra grabs his spear, which snaps to the side of his quiver, and takes hasty action upon the slumbering pigskin.
Taking a position straddling above the sleeping man Kibra grasps his spear with both hands and plummets the spearhead into the pigskin's cranium in a swift and fluid fashion.
Just like putting a trapped crocodile out of it's misery.
Kibra takes a brief moment to observe that his action was successful and clean before performing a quick check of the man's possessions for anything useful or valuable. He then snaps his spear back into place, and then knocks an arrow on his bow.

What is going on here? Some sort of magic or deception perhaps. Why wouldn't that guard pursue the child further, perhaps they are as dumb as I have been told...
Kibra listens to Smoog's observation and Tessith's blessing/proclamation with half his attention as he thinks on what he saw.
Smoog, if there is something going on in that central tent we should do everything we can to strike there fast.
Tessith, I cannot wait to burn this place to the ground. I am unsure of how this will play out and any prayer you could say for Smoog and Myself would be greatly appreciated.
Tessith, I would think either Armor or +1 Defy Danger carried forward would be useful.
We need to wait for the others to spring into action. Once they break their shackles and begin the attack, the camp should be in enough chaos that we can strike quick and fast towards the center tent.

We must get a move on if we are to catch the camp by surprise.
Lets move, Dufus and the slaved crew head in on the road. Smoog, Tessith and myself will head to the north for our approach.
With that Kibra draws his bow and knocks and arrow at the ready. He crouches slightly, raises a bit onto his toes. His posture is a blend of athleticism and slyness. As he moves to the camp his movements are like a song. He sings with his movement and the song is really something. It is like a choreographed ballet. Each movement deliberate and beautiful.

Oadir, Tessith and Retzack,
I have a suggestion that will at the minimum benefit me, but I think will benefit us all.
If you guys have a chance it would be great to see your character alias profiles finished with the specific class moves you have selected, the bonds you have chosen and your gear (plus whatever else may be beneficial).
Also in your profile, in the class/level section you can add your attribute modifiers, HP, XP and default damage. That lets us see it right below your name.
Take a look at some of the other character profiles from the group for reference. Use the spoiler feature to hide the text into blocks. See below for spoiler example, replace those weird brackets with normal brackets.
{spoiler="Block Name"} "All Info" {/spoiler}
I really think these additions help me understand how each of the moves work without having to pull up the SRD each time (Both my own moves and others).
Let us know if you have any questions about what to include.

As Kibra watches Meep scurry off he notices a few of the others glance with interest at the little rat.
That creature may look small and weak but I can tell you a few stories of when he saved my tail.
Kibra continues to tell of his companion rat, even if no one is particularly listening. Kibra just feels comfortable breaking the tension in the group
No sh*t, there I was knee deep in the mire and muck of some sort of marshland south-west of the Mountain. I had run out of arrows, unloading them into a group of ghouls. I don't know why I even went that way, the ground looked stable enough and the way seemed quicker through that area...
Anyways there I was stuck in the muck, no ammunition left and the remaining 3 ghouls slowly making their way to me. I grabbed a nearby spear sticking from the muck and began to jab and pierce the bastards. It was not working. I did not have enough motion to make the jabs effective, the spear tip would get caught in their flesh and as I pulled it back I only aided the ghouls advance on my position.
As I screamed in anger at my situation, certain that this would be the end of me, Meep jumps from his pouch. He crawls across my chest and jumps onto the spear shaft. With a ferocity I had never thought possible from such a small creature, Meep ran to the end of the spear and leapt to the nearest ghoul. In no fewer than 8 seconds Meep had gnawed through the flesh, tissue and bone of the ghouls neck. As the ghoul fell chest first into the muck disconnected from his head Meep jumped back to the spear-head.
I was completely stunned at what had happened. As I stared at my rat, he motioned, he stood on him hind legs and pointed with his paw to the next closest ghoul. Cunning little rat. I moved the spear in the direction of the next ghoul and Meep went to work once again. He bore his way into the eye of the second ghoul and before long he zipped back out and jumped to the spear as the second ghoul fell. The last ghoul went the same as the first, I'll spare you the details but...
Kibra finishes his story in a fanfare of sound effects and gory squishing noises.
Don't underestimate that rat, he is like no other rodent I have ever met.

If any of the "Slaved" Kobolds need me to carry a weapon while they are detained I have room and strength to carry a few items.
Kibra pulls Meep from a small belt pouch and whispers in his ear.
Meep scurries from Kirba's hands off into the direction of the camp to search for the best angle of approach. Meep is scouting for the best location that would allow for either vantage onto the camp within range of his bow or an angle of approach that provides the most unobstructed view into the camp center.

Perhaps we can combine both efforts. If we have a few Kobolds follow Dufus to be turned in with fake chains they could get in close enough to the camp to distract Araman and his troop. While distracted the rest of us could sneak past and create chaos by freeing slaves and setting fire to the camps.

If we could find a way to be captured and sold we would end up inside of the fortress...getting gear in may be difficult...
Sees, you used to play dress up pretty well, could you act as our captor and collect the bounty?
Kibra looks around at the group as if asking someone to help him with his idea.

Adding a bond with Tessith, as we should have met and been together in the slavers camp before joining the main group.
"Tessith has a rage that burns within him. I have run from fire for so long, can I gain the flame again?"

Back brief: If I understand this correctly we will basically have 2 stories going on for the time being. One of the plight of the imprisoned folks, the other with the original party plus me.
Sounds like fun. Maybe to avoid confusion for the split parties we may want to preface our posts. Maybe the first line of the post might start with "Back in the Estr Prison:" or "On the Road to Estr:". Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Well Scoops may have one through alot and all that, but she still knocks them back in a hurry.
I probably don't have much say in this endeavor as I have no clue who any of the bad folks are. But there is much logic in a decision to avoid attacking a fortified Dwarven fortress head on. But if you don't know the druid or fairy's location then our options may be limited.
Would there be any way to go after the dwarf not head on? A saying I have heard comes to mind "Secret Operations are essential to war; upon them the army relies to make its every move. (Sun Tzu)"

Kibra takes in the stories of the group's adventure with eyes as wide as a schoolboy. His attention fully captured on every word. He was so caught up in the story that he barely ate or drank.
As the group celebrated their victories and the addition of new members Kibra was completely shocked by the reality of it all. The distance journey, the death of Gourlaug, the birth of Tanard. As the picture of the events began to form in his head he was overwhelmed. He just sat there stroking Meep in his lap, completely swept away by it all.
This isn't just some jumble of Kobolds raiding a small town. They have purpose, drive and anger. They have experienced so much and so much has changed since the mountain.
Unsure of his place in the new group and feeling very inadequate surrounded by these heroes Kibri makes a conscious effort to focus on their stories and learn as much as he can.
When Sees completes her recap Kibri looks around to the rest of the group waiting for any other input.

Mooshy can you help me with those? What are first impression bonds?
If I were to guess it would be something like:
- Sees has changed so much since I last saw her, is she still the same young Kobold I remember?
- Smoog is lost in his own mind, I will find a way to make him express himself.

I have leveled up and selected Camouflage as my next level skill. I also added 1 skill point to Wisdom, increasing my modifier to +2.
For End of Session I don't think I can resolve any bonds as I just created them. I'm fine with that.
Should I answer the 3 questions?
As a group:
• Did we learn something new and important about the world?
I learned of a group of Kobold adventurers on a quest for vengeance and I have joined them. +1
• Did we overcome a notable monster or enemy?
Other than running away from the slavers with my new group I don't think I can say I overcame any monster.
• Did we loot a memorable treasure?
Not yet.
If this isn't appropriate I can just hold of for this end of session.

All of this is such a whirlwind. Gourlaug really is dead, these Kobolds seem to be hunting down his killers. One of whom is already handled. They must be quite the capable bunch.
Well Scoops, its great to see you again. It seems like all of our stations in life have adjusted. I can't wait to catch up.
Thunk from the clan of the All-Eater, well met sir. I in fact do love to thump, although I prefer to do it from afar, I suppose I would say that I prefer to thwack.
Kibra, seeing the goggled Kobold draw away from the group, decides to give him space. There will be plenty of time for introductions. I have a feeling I'm beggining down a long road.
As he traveled down the road with his new companions, Kibra recounted one of his first encounters away from the mountain. And although he spoke to no one in particular, simply saying the words gave him a sense of comfort. Like a weight being released from his chest.
This whole time after the eruption I have been on my own. I was not really sure what to do or where to go so I simply went forward. The first few weeks were nothing too difficult. Although I had never been outside of the swamps, the trapping and hunting was not difficult.
About 12 days ago things took a turn. About mid day I came across the tracks of a sizeable group. Hoping to find survivors from the mountain I followed the tracks to the outskirts of a hasty camp. The whole camp was full of nasty smoothskins. I counted at least 15 of them. They seemed to be celebrating all through the night. They had 3 or 4 sentries who seemed to busy catching a few z's than with watching the forest. I knew this was my moment...
I waited until the time was right. I set up a dozen spring-snares, leading into and out of the camp. One of the sentries took off into the woods to relieve himself. I stayed up high in the branches, skirting around his vision and I waited until he had stopped, about 25 feet from the closest sentry. I knocked an arrow, breathed deep and let her rip.
Thinking about his first non-animal kill, still gave Kibra chills. Why did I like it so much?
The arrow went clean through the smoothskins back and out his front. He wailed, louder than I expected and that drew the other 2 sentries out of the camp. The had their swords drawn and were drawing near to me. I knocked another arrow...zoom into the second. His companion spun to see his friend take the arrow into his neck. By the time the last sentry looked up into the tree I released another arrow into his chest.
I had never felt so alive! That night, something inside of me was awakened. Half the camp rose to the groans and gurgling of their sentries. Throughout the rest of the night I took them out. Two here, one there. Two of them managed to get stuck in my snares, just handing from a tree waiting for my arrows. They really are dumb creatures. Before dawn broke I searched the camp for any sign of Gourlaug's treasure. Unfortunately I did not find anything that reminded me of home.

Kibra, excited from all the recent action, the flight, and his freedom. He is visibly shaking.
I never thought I would be free from those beasts! What are the chances of meeting other Kobolds here?
Looking at his rescuers more closely Kibra is aware of some sort of familiarity. He notices the scars and grime on his kinsmen and realizes he has no clue what they must have gone through.
Wait, I know you! Your Scoops from Moontower Mountain! Are you all from the mountain? What happened? I saw it erupt and the swamp was decimated. I thought everyone was dead and I ran.
Realizing he was babbling and that now was not the time for reunion Kibra added: I know we don't have time to talk now, lets get as far away from those Orcs as possible.

Hello adventurers. I am pleased to introduce Kibra to the adventure. I will intro him into the gameplay very soon. I have read the last few pages of your adventure. While I definitely don't know everything you have been through I think I know enough to join in.
My adventure will intersect with yours at the slave camp where you I was with the slaves. Having released me I quickly, I gathered my few supplies from a nearby cache and joined the group not asking many questions and taking the leap on the gorge.
From here I will introduce my character. Please correct me and guide me if I am off track on anything.
Sounds great.
Anything else I need to tweak or develop?
Kibra is definitely heart broken and confused about the whole thing. He really does not have the whole picture together yet. Meep it turns out was a rat Kibra trapped on one of his first expeditions into the swamp. Kibra saw something special in the creature and developed a bond with him, when Kibra asked for his name he replied "Meep".
If you would rather me have been a follower the whole time we can make that work. I would be concerned about not knowing what has happened. (I guess I should go read the whole gameplay forum to catch up)
An alternative option might be that I was captured by the orc slavers and have been rescued by the group. Or I have been traveling the wilds this whole time and I bump into your group and desire their companionship. This would explain my low level character maybe.
I'll make that adjustment to my racial.
Let me know how to proceed and I'll work with it.
DM, thanks for the encouragement. Here is my kobold ranger for your review. Let me know if I am off on anything.
I added the Green Scaled Acid Resistance for my Race bonus. Let me know if I should remove that.
I also took 2 guesses on my bonds, although in the story I have probably not met the other PC's yet so maybe I should leave those blank?
