I'LL SHOW YOU A HISSY FIT

"Wait...! I! Percy?! Fei?" The hideous lightning-thing floats menacingly in the air, the bare and glowing eye sockets of the skull look over at Fei.

"I'M ALIVE BECAUSE I'M PISSED OFF, PERCY, AND NOW YOU'RE GONNA PAYYYY!"

*strangled noise*

Khoda takes advantage of the slip in the action to teleport himself out of the way; he appears a mile up above everything and off to the side a bit. His mantle is gone, only his bare skull is showing, his one ruined eye still black and empty and leaking bits of gemstone.

Brute force, he realizes, may not work with these beings. He needs to think, which is not his strong suit.

Khoda's tendrils flail and twist in confusion as Ryleh hammers on the stone and Vai siphons away his very life force. A strange blue-white energy disc forms around the crown of the god of destruction's head, then starts to spin off into a weird interdimensional anomaly, a tiny spot in the endless sky of the plane of storms...

HRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNGGGGG! WHAT...! WHAT...!

WHAT ARE YOU...

As damaged as he is, Khoda takes a couple swipes at Ryleh, trying to dislodge her.

Round 4 - Khoda
Attack Ryleh:
Slam 1: 1d20 + 60 ⇒ (19) + 60 = 79
Slam 2: 1d20 + 60 ⇒ (20) + 60 = 80 -- oof, that's a crit
Confirm: 1d20 + 60 ⇒ (7) + 60 = 67
Damage (if applicable)
4d12 + 42 ⇒ (11, 8, 7, 11) + 42 = 79
4d12 + 42 ⇒ (5, 9, 1, 10) + 42 = 67
Crit damage: 4d12 + 18 ⇒ (12, 12, 12, 11) + 18 = 65

"HRRRRRNNNGH! OLD DRAGON! OLD WOMAN! HRRRRRRNGH! I...I WILL...I...CRUSH!"

LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT!

"-TROY HIM UTTERLY! DE-"

"I AM..."

"V I O L E N C E ! ...yyyyyeessssss..."

"AND YOU LEARN WHERE THEY ARE WEAK" booms a horrid voice, coming from somewhere behind and above the sylph.

at last. it begins to learn. that's right little gate. power. power. destruction. power.

"AH HEH HEH HEH HEHHHH"

"EPH-"

There is a tearing between the worlds. Khoda seethes with impotent rage at the gall of his Gate, dismissing him once again like a servant. She would learn. She would understand His glory and exult, and join with him and bring him to the Material Plane once and for all, and spread his gospel of Power, Pain, and Destruction.

The boy. The spirit boy. A pathetic fluttering whisp of a being. So puny as to be enthralled by a devil, which itself was stuck in a ridiculous mousetrap. That boy was almost as puny as Khoda's Gate.

They were all so weak, they did not deserve the death he would bring them.

Distantly, Khoda admired the finely wrought dimensional space created by the school's administrator. There was power in the strange place his Gate was currently interred, power enough to please Khoda, for those who possessed it would taste so good, would feed Khoda's might with their own and raise his glory even further.

Hosanna in Excelsis Khoda.

Yes, the gate was finely wrought, which made its consumption and destruction that much more satisfying. Always better to crush a beautiful thing than one ugly. Sending out Lashes he hacks away the bindings. The devil laughs as it is freed, but then shivers as it realizes what it has been freed into. It attempts to jump, but Khoda locks all the doors, closes the windows, fuses the locks. Electricity jumps and arcs from metal to metal, filling space. As all devils do, this one attempts to plead, to bargain. Khoda laughs and cities fall. He licks his lips and a tidal wave crushes a crystalline city in a fractal dimension. The devil trembles.

"EXULT TO THE FULLEST IN THE GLORY THAT IS ABOUT TO BE YOURS.
YOU FOOL.
LITTLE DEVIL.
HAH. HAH. HAH. HAHHHHHH.
"

The sound the duke of hell makes is not quite laughter, not quite a hysterical sob. There is a moment where he glimpses the pure, unopposable force of celestial lightning, of Storm made real, then he is immolated, his every particle flung apart, exposing what is left of his soul to the naked void of the nether dimension Khoda has hung them in. It is this that the lightning god devours whole, expanding horribly as he does, getting even larger.

Tendrils of cloud grab David roughly then, and Khoda looks at him.

"YOU ARE LIKE DUST TO ME.
BUT YOU TELL HER. TELL MY GATE.
SLOWLY THE SCALES BALANCE.
"

With that, Khoda opens two doors; one back to his home dimension, the Plane of Storm, and one back to the School. It is through this latter he flings David.

Deus Ex Khoda.

Dunno exactly what David is, so I'll keep it sparse, retro me if need be.

David lands with a skid and a slide, popping out of thin air and sliding to a stop at Nasima's feet. "I, uh, have my soul back. He...your big lightning friend. He killed him. He...he ate the devil. It was awful. He said to tell you -- you're "The Gate" right? -- he said to tell you "slowly the scales balance", whatever that means."

"Could I get a drink of water, maybe?"

THIS CHARADE.
YOU CANNOT LAST.
YOU WILL FREE ME FINALLY.
I WILL NOT BE DENIED.
MY DESTINY.
YOU FRAGILE VESSEL.

LITTLE DEMON.
TREMBLE BEFORE KHODA.
BOW.
OR DIE.

Another ear-shattering hammerfall of thunder shakes the entire facility, knocking loose girders and stones and floors and all manner of thing.

A massive *BOOOOOOOOM* is heard in the distance, a peal of thunder that cuts across dimensions as easily as a shout across a room. There is a tearing noise that could, conceivably, be cloth, if cloth came in sheets the size of a world. The boom fades and draws, but the tearing increases, cracking, shattering, increasing to an ear-splitting volume, until a bolt of lightning the size of the moon hammers through the ceiling and pounds the demon, shredding a chunk out of its flesh.

Epic-level lightning against whatever this thing is, DC40 reflex half: 20d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 3, 4, 3, 6, 1, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 2, 5, 5) = 79

A skull the size of a bus floats in the center of the room, tendrils of cloud reaching hideously out in all directions.

The lightning god has come.

LIGHTNING BOLT!
LIGHTNING BOLT!
LIGHTNING BOLT!

The shriek, however, tails off, and becomes a strange roar. Thunder cracks. The now-familiar stink of burned ozone fills the air.

The power goes out.

There is a strange hissing sizzle and then *WHOOOOOOOOMMMM* as the bathroom doors get blasted to smithereens by a meter-thick lightning bolt, along with most of the door frame and the closet across the hall and most of the room behind it.

Nasima-as-Khoda comes floating out of the bathroom, her shoulder and leg both badly burned, probably by acid. Her eyes are like ball lightning and stray bolts are arcing off of her, fusing metal and bursting tile and pipe. She turns and her jaw distends, dropping a sickening inch or two past what it should, and another huge bolt of raw electrical power streams out of her mouth: *SSHHHZKKKKKKKKKKK* Cooked ooze bits splatter out past her, some deflecting off the electrical shield coruscating around her. She fires two more lightning bolts from her hands with similar results, then floats gently down to the ground.

"HHAAAAAAHHHHH!!! HHHAHHHHhhhhhhh"

rising to the surface of the gate of this prison i see again the threats, the auras of those who would harm. my complete inability to speak with this channel continues to stymie me. i must sound like some primal life form to it, some inarticulate glob of energy. some of the beings near, what power they have, the things they could assist with, and oh how fine they would taste. but in the meantime, i can only do as much as i can do, and keeping this meat shell in one piece is the best course, even if it means sounding like a dunce. until then i wait. i wait for an opening.

Khoda rises to the surface, dismissing the shapechanger's eager thought-probe, lapping like a summer squall at the edge of the channel's mind. Concentrating, the god of lightning speaks in the horrid, crude common that is all he can muster across so great a gap of spacetime:

"HIM. THREAT. THAT ONE."

His last action is to tug its eyes to Lysander, then sit back and hope for the best.

I inhabit the meat child thing so weak but so strong
the threat seeks to hide but I see all
I will warn them

Khoda/Sima floats above the ground, lightning arcing all around her/it in a spray of power and burnt ozone. She/it points at Lysander as bolts of pure electricity issue forth from the eyes.

"hah hah hahhhhhh T H R E A T Khoda watches haaaaahhh I EAT your WORLD" Khoda notes the meat thing and its three smaller meat things and withdraws in disgust, leaving the girl/gate...

laughter or thunder dopplers around the horizon in the distance

ha. ha. ha. ha. haaahhhhhhhh.

Khoda simmers and rumbles and flashes beneath Nasima's consciousness. Waiting.

A nervous crack of thunder peals across the sky, distant but ominous.

The thunder is closer now, and louder. It begins to grow dark outside.

There is a distant boom of thunder that lasts for an awfully long time, rumbling and dopplering around for more than is usual.

"ha. ha. ha. ha. haaaaaa..."

"SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!
HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!

With each 'smite' something is struck by billions of volts of electricity courtesy a horrid shaft of blue-white lightning: a tree, a car, a bookshelf, the gymnasium. The tang of ionized air fills everyone's nostrils.

"TTTRREMMMMMBBLLLLLLLE!!!"

His presence having been made known, The Lightning God recedes to his natural plane, withdrawing tendril and cloud and lightning, the thunder of his cruel laugh echoing over the landscape and away into the abyss...
