"Let them come." Kasia says, speaking for the first time in hours, preferring to let the others tell their tales while she remains in thought, soaking up the information. Lomrick's death had left her feeling empty, as most deaths did. "The Scions of the Celestial Helix sound like grave-diggers and thieves. They have no honour." She pulls her pistol from its holster and lays it on the table. "Wey and I have long fought those who would seek to oppress those weaker than them. If Lomrick's research would lead to people being exploited for the gain of this Celestial Helix, his research must be destroyed."

Sorry, stupid website was still having problems for me even this weekend. I hope it has finally settled down now. I'll get my levelup stuff done tomorrow!

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Kasia fires another shot, this time aimed at the remaining Klaven, while she still searches for where Lomrick has gone to.

Shoot: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Crit?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Crit Damage?: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) + 6 = 16

Kasia grunts disappointment as Lomrick vanishes. "Fine. Run. You aren't going to get far." She promises. Raising her gun, she fires into the Klaven entangled with Mayenyi, blasting a hole in the creature.

Ack, didn't realise we were waiting on me.

Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Kasia's many legs carry her out of the way of the bomb, minimizing the damage done by the explosion. HP: 27/31 Moving slightly closer to Lomrick, she sees Zoreck drop and frowns, raising her gun and firing at the insect.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Attack vs Touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Kasia doesn't bother to reply to Lomrick, just narrows her eyes as she moves into the room, and begins firing at him.

"Suit yourselves." Kasia mutters, raising her gun and firing into one of the klaven as it approaches.

Attack w/ Bless & PBS vs Touch: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage w/ Bless & PBS: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Kasia raises her pistol as the doors open, seeing six klaven standing there. "Here's the deal." She announces. "We just fought through dozens of your comrades and a creature with far too many mouths. I'm in no mood for more killing, and I reckon you won't succeed where others failed. You wanna test that, we can lay you to rest right here. Otherwise, toss down your weapons and leave with your lives. We want Lomrick."

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

As soon as Zoreck gets out of the way, Kasia unloads another shot into the strange creature, looking as though she barely takes the time to aim, and firing straight down one of its mouths.

Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Attack w/ Bless & PBS: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Coming back to her senses, Kasia narrows her eyes and begins firing at the strange creature.

Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Welp, Kasia's confused.

Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 47 Incoherence it is!

Kasia pales as a torrent of small mouths come from the mist to bite at Zoreck. She raises her gun over and over, trying to find something to shoot, but unsure of where to pull the trigger. It screams in a dozen voices and she clasps her hands to her head, thinking back to what Mayenyi and Zoreck said about encountering strange creatures. She gapes in horror at the creature, a string of nonwords coming out of her mouth as she tries to convince herself to shoot it, tries to rectify with her mind what the hell it actually is, and feels intense terror that it might be the end of all of them.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Following Zoreck's lead, Kasia opens fire on the creature as well.

Web is flammable so it might(?) provide an extra 2d4 damage with the bomb. Source

Ack, sorry, the forums stopped alerting me to new posts.

Seeing the creature on the ceiling reaching tendrils down, Kasia raises one of her lower legs pointing in its direction. She mutters briefly as the leg pulls web from her spinner, before hurling a fist-sized web at the creature, hoping to at least stop it from attacking the others.

Use Web. Web lasts for 40 minutes. DC 15 Reflex save to negate effects. If the creature fails, it's treated as Grappled.

Kn Arcana: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Kasia stares at the construct for a moment, seeing it less as a horrifying monster, and something suffering and in pain. She nods in thanks to Mayenyi as the girl ducks out of the way, and fires a shot at the creature.

Shoot w/ PBS: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

"It's the poor carpenter that blames his tools." Kasia lectures with a slight smile as Zoreck slams his gun against the wall.

Shoot w/ PBS: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27 Aw, so close...
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Without waiting for the Shocktrooper to be able to recover or run, Kasia cocks her gun and fires another shot into its chest.

Shoot w/ Bless & PBS: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Kasia skitters closer, letting Wey take over to guide her aim, and fires her pistol into the remaining Klaven.

Kasia waits outside while the others scour for secrets, keeping an eye out behind them should anyone have not gotten the memo and decided to attack. She frowns, wondering if Lomrick has already heard them coming.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Rather than firing again at the wounded creature, Kasia lowers her weapon, but doesn't holster it. "Wise move." She says. "Lomrick's day of reckoning is here, but it need not be yours as well."

Sorry, got caught up Streaming all day yesterday for a charity event

Attack + PBS: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27
Damage + PBS: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8

Kasia instantly fires, the gun still by her hip, letting her training and Wey take over her actions, as she blows a hole into the Skulk.

Kasia hangs back closer to Drancis, waiting for guards to flock to the commotion. 'This is going easily, but I fear for our exposure.' She thinks.

'Indeed.' a voice replies into her mind. 'It would have been wiser to clear the entire first floor before moving up, rather than fighting on multiple fronts.'

Kasia frowns. 'That did occur to me, Wey. Perhaps you'd like to have a word with the others.'

The voice in her head laughs, a fairly rare occurrence. 'The others do not have your years of training. I expect better of you.'

Feeling admonished, Kasia grits her teeth and readies her gun, determined to ensure that the mistake made would not do them any harm.

Kasia moves herself up the stairs slightly, trying to get herself some cover as she draws her gun, covering the back while the others deal with the visible klaven.

Kasia is slow to approach, wary of any more traps, but follows the others into the room. She starts to shake her head slightly as the others move upstairs, gesturing to the doors around them with a questioning look, seemingly concerned about becoming boxed in.

Kasia smiles politely at Kaetrix's prayer for them, uncertain of the specifics, but understanding the gist. In response she places a hand on the side of Kaetrix's face, and says softly, "The World's Web will lead us back to you, sister."

When the group arrives at the hillock, Kasia crouches herself down, and proceeds not to move a muscle for the entire time that they do reconnaissance, looking unsettlingly statue-esque. Finally, as Mayenyi announces the door, Kasia frowns slightly. "We were thinking of climbing up by the balcony and lowering rope down. Even the back entrance may have guards."

I use the Witch's spell list, for what it's worth. Also, I'm thinking that Kasia will say "We" instead of "I", on account of her gun-spirit.

Kasia shakes her head. "Afraid not. We can see through such things, but can't cast them." Her expression a mixture of pride and regret, she explains, "My people's approach tends to be more... openly diplomatic."

"We do know a few healing tricks, but certainly not as many as Mayenyi here. Ours are more for emergency uses." She slightly lifts the gun out of her holster, with a grin. "Once we get inside, we can make quite the ruckus, though."

Cool, that sparkles with me, thanks! I'll take a gander through those and see what feels like a good fit.

Easiest level I ever earned...

Haha, seriously.

Kasia gets...
+1 BAB
+7 HP (Including one from Favoured Class)
+1 Ref/Will Saves
+9 Ranks in Skills (Craft Alchemy, Kn History, Survival, Sense Motive, Perception, Diplomacy, Bluff, Intimidate, Kn Nature)

- Nimble (+1 Dodge to AC in Light Armour / No Armour)
- Ability to cast Level 2 Spells (2 / Day)

I thiiiink my bonus attribute will go to Con, which will give me +4 more HP and +1 Fort saves. Then automatic bonus progression stuff. I'll figure out my new Spells and get my alias updated tomorrow.

Question for the DM:
Automatic Bonus Progression gives me +1 Enhancement Bonus to my Firearm, which itself already has a +1 from my class with it being a familiar. The weapon also increases to +2 at Level 5th. Does the Firearm bonus stack with ABP?

I am inclined to think no, since it would mean that at 9th I'd have +2 from ABP and +3 from the weapon for a total of +5, which is high... So, with that in mind, should I always just use the highest? Should I ignore the weapon's inherent bonuses and just use ABP?

It's not something inherent to this class, since the "Bladebound" Magus works the same way, and even something like the Paladin's "Divine Bond" gets into a similar situation.I haven't reallllly done Automatic Bonus Progression before and I'm not super sure how it's intended to work.

Kasia smiles, sadly, at Drancis's expression of Golarion. "You've had quite the adventure, then! I must confess that I have only left my own home recently as well." Narrowing her eyes slightly, she looks down and to the side. 'And also not entirely of my own volition.' She mutters, seemingly to nothing.

Looking back up with a fresher smile, she continues. "Still, we're happy to have you here. I believe we'll need all the help we can get. And if you truly saved Kaetrix, we are in your debt." She moves her front legs back and bends down, making a movement that looks like something between a bow and courtesy. "I am Kasia."

Kasia doesn't ask them if they've seen others like her, before - the expression on their faces is enough to suggest that they haven't. She is growing more accustomed to the fearful expressions she receives, but still hasn't come to enjoy them. She does her best to look harmless, keeping her hands far from her gun holster and refraining from any of her normal activities, such as climbing the walls or creating a web to lounge in.

I still need to grab some equipment, but otherwise I think I'm all ready.

Hi new friends! Excited to be here. I have my in person game tonight but I'll get my alias filled out this evening or early tomorrow.

Any chance you'd allow the Nightblade class? I've been looking for a good place to play it and amidst some other evil ladies seems perfect.

Sorry guys, I've been having a lot of health issues crop up. :(

Apologies for my absence - I'll have a post up tomorrow!

We don't. I had figured on picking up a bit of it since we're "crosstrained" and we're short in that section, but you should feel free to take it over instead!

Also I'll have posts up in the morning, I am feeling quite ill this evening.

I just realised that I'm not sure how well-known the Trill/Symbiont relationship actually is at this point in our timeline. The TNG episode "The Host" is in 2367, and Deep Space 9's introduction of Jadzia Dax would only have been in the last year or two. Feel free to roleplay as you deem appropriate. I'm expecting some interesting things when we get to DS9 and I encounter Dax.

Kasia watches the exchange between Veradiran and the Captain with a degree of curiosity. Without knowing what has been said, she knows enough about Vulcan's to be intrigued by the number of expressions occurring on Veradiran's face. She makes a mental note to talk to him about it at a more opportune time, imagining that there would be lots of time.

She nods to Lt. Grrazz, pleased to have a stronger security force aboard than was customary. Going into the unknown was certainly appealing, but she wasn't dumb enough to want to go without caution or protection.

As they are teleported to the observation deck, Kasia's eyes go wide with excitement and surprise. For being a retrofitted battleship, the newly named Miyazaki was a thing of beauty. She looked sleek and fast and powerful all at once. A grind spreads across Kasia's face as she gazes out at the ship. "Hello, Miyazaki." She says softly. She doesn't look away until the Captain begins to give orders, at which point she goes back to being business.

"Yes, Sir." She nods. After a brief pause, she opens her mouth again. "I'm also somewhat versed in multiple scientific disciplines." With a grin, she gives herself a few taps on the side of the head, near her temple and at the edge of her spots. "One of the perks, you know. If I have a chance after reviewing the crew's medical records, I'd love to take a look through our new equipment, make sure we have everything we might need?"

Also there'll be some episodic NPCs that you can run if you so desire. With a little instruction.

I may wait for that. Certainly there isn't need to lump them into this introduction, as they'd be lower ranking if nothing else. With the amount of smaller craft we have, I'll likely adopt a helmsman / fighter pilot.

Kasia smiles at the Admiral, smiling larger as she's able to slide into a seat and not be the center of attention. She nods silently at the other gathered members as she takes her seat. While she's intending to remain silent for the briefing, her ears perk up at mention of them going to Deep Space Nine.

Listening to the Vulcan's plan, she finds herself feeling impressed. Dr. Crusher had been right - this was indeed going to prove to be an interesting mission. "With respect, sir," She looks towards the Admiral, "Waiting an entire month between a missed report and sending help sounds risky. The mission being what it is, and where it is, it seems that any missed report is likely the result of some catastrophe. It isn't to say that I don't have full faith in the crew, and naturally, I'll do what I can to ensure everyone remains in one piece." She smiles slightly, "But that is a long time to be out of reach."

Kasia approaches the secretary, tucking her bangs behind her ears and forcing a smile that she hopes makes up for her nervousness. "Kasia Wey - I believe the Admiral is expecting me?"

The secretary nods, smiling back somewhat more genuinely, perhaps remembering the nervousness she felt herself, or at least understanding it. Kasia begins to feel more relaxed, and as the secretary reaches for her comm, Kasia reaches out a hand to stop her. "Give me one second, yeah?"

"Several lifetimes and still nervous. Pull it together, Wey." She mutters to herself. Taking a deep breath, she counts to three and exhales. It was all the time she ever allowed herself. "Okay." She nods to the secretary, with a more confident smile. "Let's meet the crew."

Stepping through the door, she is taken aback by the number of people already waiting and lets out a small curse at being late, before remembering herself. Trying not to look embarrassed, she snaps to attention. "Kasia Wey reporting for duty."

I missed where we're all supposed to jump in. I'll throw up an introductory post for myself tomorrow.

Hama, where did you land on the potential of some/all of us playing multiple characters?

Captain Sanron Cahr wrote:
GM what do you think about players having Two PCs?

You mean having multiple characters that we each control for different scenarios and things? I'm (naturally) into the idea.

Haven't seen Jonny Panic pop in yet, and I'm not sure who else aside from the Captain would be looking to speak with the Admiral, so I'm sort of waiting.

Oh, that's good to know.

I'm going to put together the changes to my Chrome Plugin to set my avatar to my STO character. If anyone else wants to get in on doing similar, just Private Message me the image and I'll take care of the cropping and everything and send you back the plugin link.
