Kala nods at Nadarr, "Indeed! Some of Lubush's men tried to force us to pay to use the road. Their bodies are back a ways feeding the crows now. Sometimes, towns may offer a bounty on such bandits. Not always mind you, but it's always a good idea to check in with the authorities dontcha think? What other kinds of trouble might we be able to help with?" Kala smiles and taps his fingers on the bar. "You know, I am an entertainer by trade, I could perform for your room here in exchange for some modest concessions. Certainly my friends are likely to eat and drink here in any case. Perhaps we can strike up a mutually beneficial arrangement?"
Kala comes into the Inn announcing "Looking for Ostler, Ostler Gundlgoot. That you boss? Ol' Rurek sent us your way, said you'd treat us right...round of ales and a wine for Max here if you please." Kala approaches the bar and asks less boisterously, "What's the name of your sheriff or constable in these parts, friend?"
"Let us make haste to the Inn for the evening. It appears that supper and drinks are on Lubush's men."
First, apparently new PHB errata was just published if anyone is interested. Here. Second, I thought I had a trinket, but alas I do not. So... A silver spoon with an M engraved on the handle. Third, I just realized for some insane reason I have a light crossbow listed on my character sheet in the weapon section but a shortbow listed in the gear section. Since I can use a crossbow and we found 3, I'll take one of them and 10 bolts if there is no objection.
Kala puts his crossbow away and waves back to the woods. "If we see you on this road again, we'll kill you. Now get!"
My own two cents: 1) Don't concern yourself with what other people's character sheet say. That's been the player and the GM.
All said, I am quite enjoying this so far =)
Seeing the dragonborn unleash his magic on the man, Kala Kana does a front roll across the ground toward the trees where the other man (men?) is hiding. As he stands up from the roll, he draws a crossbow bolt and loads it into his crossbow, point it toward where the warlock indicated. "Stay where you are. I haven't eaten yet and I don't want to kill you."
Readied:
"Just asking my friends here if they wish to pay your generously reduced rate, or fight. Personally I am inclined to pay, I hate to kill a man on an empty stomach." Kala says flatly.
Kala turns his torso away from the man, looks at his new companions and winks. "That work for you boys?"
"So sad to say the last donation to Lubush I gave a ways back was the last of my gold. Since I've already contributed to Lubush's safer roads program, how about you give us a pass?" Kala says with a smile.
Kala takes his pan flute off his hip and says, "I am happy to donate a song to Lubash. Is that you my good sir?"
"Certainly I prefer a larger crowd to perform for. The ale is...wet, but perhaps we should press on to Hommlet while we still have the daylight." Kala downs his mug of ale, slamming it down on the counter with authority.
"Ostler Gundlgoot, sure thing. We'll look for him, thanks friend. Say, I don't think I caught your name. Mine is Kala, Kala Kana." Kala gives a triple-wave bow to the dwarf.
Kala looks at Max and smiles, "So, three dwarves walk into a bar...ah I'm just kidding." Kala flashes a winning smile at the dwarves. "Come friends, join us for ale!"
"It's too bad you don't have a full room, I love to perform for a proper crowd." Kala takes a long drink from the mug. Kala begins playing an upbeat tune on his pan flute, and launches into a satirical account of the 'great accomplishments' of the Viscount, interspersing the upbeat music with his melodic diatribe. Afterward, "What news from the road to Hommlet? Dangers abound? Thieves, brigands and bandits galor? Not many return travelers from that direction?"
Kala slaps down a sliver next to the bartender, the handsome half-elf smiles. "Tell me, my good dwarf, have you been to Hommlet yourself recently?" Quick with a smile and a laugh, the half-elf runs his hand through his brownish-red hair. A finely lacquered pan flute in hand he offers the dwarf a tune, "I can play you a tune if you like, a wonderful ballad if you like. I used to play in the court of the Viscount of Verbobonc you know? Wonderful place. He had an honest to goodness dwarven brewmaster working there. What d'ya say? A bit of a tune for some ales for me and my friends?"
Kala Kana is ready for adventure! And maidens, lots of maidens!

"Split a room Septimus?" Kala Kana asks. Kala also asks the proprietor if they are accepting evening entertainment, "I provide a unique blend of comedy and music you see." --- Afterward Kala Kana will venture out in search of excitement, asking Septimus if he would like to go as well, trying his hand at games of skill and chance (goblin squash and throwing arm sound good)!
Kala offers to help Beros unload before wandering off in search of pastries.
Kala, always eager for an appreciative audience, resumes the marching tune on his pan flute.
At Septimus' optimistic remark, Kala makes a bit of a wrinkled face. "Who knows, maybe Sandpoint will be to your liking!"
"The Irespan is a wonder to which I have yet to see an equal! The view from Lord Maechles' estate was simply amazing. You seem a proud and humble servant of Iomedae, it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. Kana Kala," he gives a flourished bow, "late of Magnimar."
"Always sorta partial to Shelyn myself." Kala offers, as though someone asked him. "Have you been to Magnimar before Septimus? Truly a wonder of a city!"
Kala ponders this, nodding sagely. "I suppose that is one approach. Lord Maechles took music much more seriously. The Maestro he employed to teach his children shared his much less...fun approach to learning." Kala stomps around in a very stiff armed and legged manner for a few moments before busting out in a laugh.
Delighted for the accompaniment, Kala comments to Arezni, "You have an excellent sense for timing. Where did you study music?"
After the wheel is repaired, Kala takes out his pan flute and plays a marching tune to help everyone keep up the pace Beros is eager to make.
Kala Kana, jester of Magnimar, is ready!
Kala Kana looks at Bazzle "I would very much like to find those crystals. If the external sensors work like the internal sensors..." His eyes strangely intense as he stares off into nothing.
Kala Kana uses the internal sensors to 'watch' Leila and Bazzle explore the ship. How does that translate to his senses?
Kala Kana stretches out his sense and counts the number of organic lifeforms currently on board.
Kala Kana transforms into a jungle cat and continues to follow the Amalgus-dog to his quarters.
Kala Kana smiles as he follows his own Amalgus-dog "Excellent crewman Amalgus, you follow the path of many forms as well?"
Kala Kana smiles at Henrick's comments, "Crewman Henrick, you have to learn to let the nightmares wash over you like a wave in the ocean. Stand against them, and be beat down. Flow with them, and there's no telling where you'll end up!"
I realized that I never checked into this thread so I wasn't seeing any update. Amazing. *facepalm*
Kala Kana is also struck nearly speechless for a few moments as he takes in the sight before him. "Truly the nightmares of Va'ak know forms which our minds can never comprehend." "Crewman..." Kala Kana tries out the word. Kala Kana pins the chalice to his cloak. "Crewman Amalgus, please tell me what preparations I can make to aid in getting us underway."
Kala Kana smiles at Leila "Of course, of course.", holding his arms out he manifests his shadowy wings again. Lifting up off the ground, he flies out in a large circle gaining speed and as he comes back swoops in and grabs the halfling lifting her off the ground... After the flight is completed, Kala Kana stands before Amalgus and declares "I am ready."
Kana Kala seeing Leila's excitement and beckoning approaches the chair and climbs in. "Show me your nightmares metal man!"
Kala Kana calls out Halfling: Blessings of Va'ak to you brave one!
Kala Kana watches suspiciously from the crowd.
Kala Kana is ready to fight again, and he looks around the other activities observing the action.
Kala Kana pauses to consider Leila's request and after a moment smiles. Halfling:
"Of course, it would be my pleasure. Remember that she is your opponent, not your friend. Take the blessings of Va'ak with you! Take care to avoid putting too much weight on the red ropes." Kala Kana gestures and grunts in Leila's direction, then chants in a low voice to himself for a few seconds.
In answer to Leila he answers, "I was victorious." Motioning toward the fight as it draws to a close, "Very interesting bout indeed. Friends of yours?"
After finishing his bout, Kala Kana finds his way over to Leila and watches the duel with interest.
Kala Kana cackles madly as Kree hits the ground, then flies over to land on a platform.
Fly: (move less than 1/2 speed DC 10) Kala Kana flies forward so he is within 15' of Kree. Kala Kana's hands come together in the shape of a sphere and he calls out again "Aphoom-Zhah finish your meal!" A swirl of black-green energy engulfs Kree and the temperature noticeably drops instantly. DC 18 Fort for half.
