Fal spots three housecat-sized beetles that are a dull brown color brightened by two glowing green-yellow spots on their carapaces. The cavern itself is a 25 foot long by 15 foot wide beach, with the five foot ledge dividing the underground beach from the rest of the cave system. the beetles are crawling towards the group having emerged from the above the ledge, and are thus 15 feet away. Initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7 knowledge dungeonering 10: These are fire beetles, and for every 5 that you have exceeded the dc you may ask an additional question
After catching up with Val, the cleric of Brigh for Torch arrives, ready to cast water breathing upon the group. He leads you all to the shore of the Black Hill lagoon. "Brigh, maker goddess, please give these brave heroes the ability to travel beneath the waves and find what ale's our city." Finishing this prayer, he touches each of you. You can feel the magic inside you. "The spell will last you a day, and then I will have to cast it again. Please be quick.". With that he motions to the lagoon, and you descend into the water. After a short swim you arrive in a cavern. Dampness hangs in the air of this cave, condensing into heavy moisture on the slick, stone walls. The calm, dark waters wind around to the east up north, along a stony, soot-scarred beach. A five-foot-high ledge sporting several stalagmites rises to the east, beyond which a low-ceilinged cave beckons.
As lighting strikes the strange machine, it groans and ceases it movements. Val leaves her hiding spot and grabs on to Teo in a running hug. "Thank you so much, I'm not sure what set it off, but I couldn't get it to stop" She brushes some dust off herself, and cranes her neck to look at her adopted siblings new friends. "So who are these folks? Are they going to help you and Fal find father? If so I guess they'll need a place to stay, but might need a little dusting" She motions back to the tavern, as the dust from the robot's rampage begins to settle. "Anything else you need? Otherwise please hurry, I'm worried about dad" EXP: Each person earns 50 exp for defeating the robot
The strange white construct turns towards you, screeching. Gorin's bullet dents its shell but fails to penetrate, as does Gringe's rock. The sound of the gun shot reverberates throughout the air, temporary covering up Val's voice. As sound returns you hear her say "Fal, Teo, so gald to see you. You have to stop that thing, it went crazy as soon as I got the power on." The crossbow bolt fired by Maxwell slices into the shell of the robot and several of the lights go out, and the arms seem to be moving slower. The robot begins to approach the party, closing to within ten feet of Fal. It seems to be saying something in a strange language. The side of the tavern that the machine had been dismantling groans but seems to be holding up, though the wall will need to be replace. You see a flash of blonde hair as Val rushes out of the building and dashes behind the foundry, taking cover. initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
The Foundry Tavern is dead as you arrive, a strange state for one of the most popular drinking halls in Torch. The wood walls of all three buildings, the tavern, the foundry, and home of Khonnier, are all slightly damp from a past storm, but of more concern is the screaming of a young woman coming from around the back of the tavern, and the sound of wood being broken. perception of 18: a strange metallic creature, 5 feet tall and made of a gray and white metal-like polymer. Its three spiderlike legs allow it to navigate over broken terrain and rubble with ease. Its torso and arms and head are vaguely humanoid, with one blazing “eye” in the center of its head and a four-fingered hand on each arm. Bits and pieces of its chassis are missing, exposing the delicate circuitry within, and it makes loud and tortured grinding noises as it moves.
Dolga sighs, the says "we gave what supplies we had to the previous expeditions so we have little to offer except the reward, 3000 gold coins to each of those who bring back Khonnier safely. I would suggest using his inn as a base of operations, so you can keep an eye on Val as well, poor girl. Finally, our cleric of Brigh has agreed to cast a spell to allow you to breath underwater for a time, so you may access the caves."
"Right, well then, lets get started. As some of you know, my name is Dolga, and I've been put in charge of the situation, in that I am the only one who wanted to deal with it directly. It’s been eight days since the flames that give our town its name have gone out, but only seven since the first explorers braved the new tunnels Khonnir discovered. Khonnir himself led his second foray into the caves just a couple of days ago—and he has yet to return. There’s an underwater passage connecting them to Weeping Pond. Khonnir noticed a large number of human footprints on the pond’s banks—he was there the day the fires went out testing the water to ensure it hadn’t suddenly grown more toxic—and he realized that a sizable group of people had entered the pond but had not emerged. We need you to enter the caves, rescue or retrive Khonnir, and find out what you can about why the flames have gone out. Have any questions before you get to work?" Dolga looks willing hopefully at the five adventures before her.
the town of Torch has put out the call for adventures and brave souls. The bright purple flames that erupt from the center of town, power its skymetal forges, and give the town it's name have been extinguished. The town council has sent numerous expeditions in to the strange metal ruins found below the town, but none have returned. As you answer the call for more souls, you are told to meet at the town hall. There you are greeted by a old dwarven woman, her white hair secured in looping braids behind her worn face. Gold earrings and rings are matched with a blue and gold dress that barely hides the muscles that years of working the forges have given her. She leans on a bright warhammer, clearly also made of some skymetal. She looks over the newest would be saviors and mutters, "We may be scrapping the bottom of the barrel here" and then louder and more directly at you "Ahh, so glad you could all make it, as Torch is in need of your help. Tell me who you are and then we can get down to the business of what we need done and what the pay is."
As far as maps go, I had been planning on using visualization, "there is a skeleton is rusty armor with a broken sword fifteen feet away to character x's ten o'clock" but if players prefer actual maps I'm sure I can find a solution. And I think the background skills will work, just have to dust off my UC book, doesn't see much action running pfs most of the time.
Hi all, I am hoping to run a Iron Gods play by post, looking for four players. I have run the first volume in person, but this will be my first PbP gm experience. I would like to pick my players based on their characters, build creativity, and backgrounds So Character creation rules: 20 point buy, all classes except anti-paladin and pre unchained summoner. All Paizo archetypes are legal. Races: Core races plus Assimars, Teiflings, Android, Kobold, Vanara, and Tengu. I am also open to Gnoll if the concept is interesting. 150gp to start, two traits plus one extra if a drawback is selected (which I will use to my advantage muhahaha). If I missed any information you need, please ask away. Good luck and looking forward to getting this going
As the early dawn’s light crests over the Wall of Heaven mountain range, the Lantern Lodge is already bustling with activity. The sound of clashing swords echoes in the air from a nearby training area, and a group of Pathfinder agents silently meditates in the front courtyard. The lodge’s doors open, revealing a long corridor and a faint floral aroma wafts gently in the air. Sturdy shelves laden with artifacts from all corners of Tian-Xia line the corridor’s walls. Venture-Captain Amara Li emerges from a door labeled “Taldor Room” in a cherry-red kimono. The slight Tain woman nods to each of you in turn. "So good to see you all, I will be with you in a moment, why not introduce yourselves to your fellow agents, as you will need to work together closely in order to accomplish the task I have for you." She then turns to a scroll of notes on small table.

You have been called to the small town Ravengro to attend the funeral of your close friend Professor Petros Lorrimor. Your relationship to the professor may vary, but you are all united in the loss of a dear friend. The body of your friend sits serenely in the coffin. A lovely young woman, her eyes still moist with tears looks up from the coffin towards the group of adventures that has just entered the church.
Hi all, I am traveling to London in about a weeks time, and having been there over 14 times I have done all the tourist stuff. I would like to meet some locals and hopefully get some gaming in. I usually GM so would be fun to play but if a group needs a gm I'm more than happy to step up. So any games going on in the London area Nov 10-15. Thanks for the info
I ran 6 sessions at Gen Con, with two of them being Goblin Attack sessions which resulted in me having a lot of Gen Con 13 boons. I would like to trade for any of the Elemental racial boons. Offering:
Seeking: any racial boon
So, Gen Con has come and gone, some thoughts my friends and I had on the way home. First off, thanks to everyone who played, I have only been a GM for a little over a year and had a blast running all these games. And a big thanks to all the Paizo staff for making volunteering such an easy and rewarding experience. I also was able to squeeze in a couple of games as a player and would like to suggest one thing for next year. I would like the ability to nominated a "Players Choice" Gm for Gen Con, as a reward for those who make Gen Con such a special experience. Would love some feedback on this idea. |
