My X New just hates this game, for whatever reason. I haven't been needed, in any case, so that's not too bad.
Forest Jim nods to Jiminy. On it, he says, unlocking his hatch to let his workers free. Alright guys, defenses. Let's get going, he says, clapping to urge them along. Thinking a moment, he waves over to Michael and Anthony. "Do you want one or two of these guys to come along and set traps or something with you? They may be able to help." He sends the rest off to start gathering supplies for defenses, and starts mentally theorizing his creations while he waits for an answer.
I remember that. It attacked me, and I got missed. It was only because it rolled a nat 1, but I could've actually taken 3-4 hits from it.
Forest Jim shouts up to Jiminy, "" his metallic voice echoing in the forest.
Forest Jim finishes up checking his devices just before the transportation. Hearing Jiminy shouting, Jim walked over to join him, his mouth curling into a barely visible warforged smile. You seem fairly responsible, eh Jim? Why not you? And the secret won't be a bad touch for that either. Jim finishes up checking his equipment, spinning his hand into a drill a few times, making sure that it works correctly.
Forest it is. DRA, that really sucks. Hope everything goes smoothly, both with repairs and your trade show.
Jim spends his week tinkering in the lab as usual, and taking over the Basic Mechanics classes he is alloted, dropping classes that are unnecessary to do so, having learned much of the curriculum from textbooks anyway.

I... see. Jim returns to eating, although he keeps an eye on him.
Jim bends down to inspect it. It would certainly be interesting to be able to make these, but it seems to take parts of your body to do so, and besides, there are more important things at hand. For starters, how do you know of my flight? I don't think I've ever done so in front of you. The quicksilver fluid seems familiar to Jim, but he can't quite place it.
Yes, you've hit the nail on the head, I'm a mechanic, operator, all of those things. What powers I have shouldn't really be any of your concern. I simply make. That's all there is to it. Once his episode is complete, Jim says, Perhaps it would be best for you to visit the Infirmary, that seemed unnatural, to say the least. And what happened to your stump?, eying Yu carefully.
Thank you, he says, sitting down, as the homunculi file in nearby, taking seats of their own. He hands out their respective trays of food as they continue savoring their cups of coffee. The food distributed, he digs into his own tray, eating steadily and quickly. The mountain of food before him is quickly reduced to a mere hill, at which point he slows down, eating at a more regular pace, still keeping his eye on Yu. The homunculi eat at varying rates of speed, all taking frequent sips of their coffee, still amazingly well-behaved for them.
Jim, finished working for the moment in the lab, comes to the cafeteria to get a bite to eat, bringing his workers with him, as they worked wonderfully during the operation, and he thinks they deserve a treat. Maybe a little coffee. He walks through the cafeteria, his homunculi trailing behind him, surprisingly well-behaved. As they approach the line to get food, they spot the coffee machine. They begin getting jittery, but Jim turns around, telling them, "You each get one. You were all a big help, so I think you've earned it. But only one. Cup, that is, not pot," he finishes, seeing one run over to the coffee machine, followed by the others. It seems his words have sunken in, though, as each only gets one cup, although they fill it to the brim. Jim gets his usual heap of food, trying out all diferrent things from the menu, smelling each individually, still glad he'd made the olfactory mask he wears. Once he's gotten food for himself and his minions, he looks for a good place to sit. Seeing Ephebe, Krays, Phaeze, and the rest, he figures it's as good a spot if any. "Do you guys mind if I sit here?" He asks, keeping an eye on Yu, who he had only just noticed. The homunculi chatter incoherently for a while behind him, seemingly angry. Yes, of course. Sorry, but may we sit here?
"Containment unit 3 should be a good place for it. That'll keep it out of the way and hopefully safe. Could you start programming the self repair sequence for the damaged parts of the lab once you have that secured? I...kind of need to prioritize my to-do list. I've been running around like crazy, but getting nowhere. Phaeze might have a point about trying to do everything myself." Very well. Jim will go to Containment Unit 3, and lock the machine away, after which he will begin his programming work. Afterwards, unless Aananda has more work for him, he will send his packmate back to the Infirmary, and begin working on some more Packmates.
Aananda, I'll help clean up in the lab. After all, i spend a lot of time in here. Where would you like the machine? I'm not entirely sure what we can use the energy inside for, but we should be able to find a use for it eventually.
Field trip sounds good to me. I've been busy with a lot of things, so my Swordsage/Duskblade/etc isn't fully built yet, still. He's on his way, though, I've only got a few more things to do, as far as I can tell. That "lot of things" is also why I haven't been posting lately. I've been able to get a spot in here and there, but I haven't really been able to devote time to posting in here. I should be good for a while, now, though.
::We bring it back. This is an immense amount of energy. Not only could we use it for quite a while, but I would like to keep it out of potential enemy hands.:: Jim teleports to the portal with Aananda, bringing the machine with them, and soon stepping through.
Strange. I've always had a problem drinking tap water because of the taste around here, but recently I've been just fine with it. On a completely unrelated note, I've been spending way too much time in IRC. My hands keep trying to /me things. And when I'm on IRC, they try to use BBCode.
I drink about 2-3 quarts of water a day. I've got a big ole thermos that I have to fill 3 times every 48 hours, usually.
Before going any further, Jim places a Shield Other spell on Aananda. Just in case.
Jim steps through the portal, and is amazed by what he sees. Shaking off his amazement, he, using his rockets, maneuvres his way over to Khoda (or at least tries to) to use his machine where it needs to be.
"You're sure? Damn. Alright then. Let's get going, Aananda. Jim bends down to talk to his homunculi. You guys stay here and help as best you can. Don't mess around, either. The DWs give a salute, and the packmate nods, almost tipping itself over. Well, Aananda, how are we going to get there? he asks as he easily picks up the machine.
Did he become a Vitalist or something?
It's quite simple, he says as he orders the Homunculi to show her how it's done. They can't do any lifting, but they show her exactly where to put the device, to maneuver it within mere inches of her head. As it's placed above the crown of her head, something akin to an incorporeal claw comes out, gripping her head. It's nothing like anything you've seen, however, as instead of a ghostly quality, it seems to be partially made of electricity. Once you've got the apparatus applied, he speaks again, saying, Now, all we can do is wait. The process itself is automated. It's going to transfer the connection to itself, hopefully, and then we shut down the machine thereby ending this particular connection to this world. Even as he speaks, small tendrils appear from the electro-metaphysical claw, worming their way seemingly into the gem.
That's unfortunate, but we've got to continue. I'm not entirely sure if that's from this is from our side, or the plane of Storms. Jim also telepathically calls to his packmate to stop whatever it's doing and come to the lab. He sends one of his workers to the door, ready to open for the packmate.
It is a word. It's a kind of snail.
I guess I'll need them after all. Jim opens up his chest cavity again, the homunculi scrambling out towards the machine. He himself, however, flips teh switches on a device he created earlier. He then holds down the Sylph's arms, hoping that his contact will somehow help. Aananda, if you would, could you please help them? Once it's over here, they'll show you what to do. he asks, pointing haphazardly with his head towards the homunculi, struggling to move the machine over to Nasima's head. The smallest homunculi wheels over an adamantine plate specifically sized for this, into place a few inches over Nasima's head, to try and block her vision, at least temporarily, while they set up the machine.
Well, if everyone's ready... His homunculi come out from under the sheet they've been working under, to jump into the chest cavity of Jim. Jim nods to Ryleh and Aananda, ready to begin.
Sorry bout that, but I'm back. I haven't had access in longer than I thought I wouldn't. I've been either busy or sleeping. I'll catch up real quick, and post soon.
Jim comes closer, trying to counteract the seed to extend the amount of time they've got, pushing his homunculi to work as fast as possible, to help this have as high a chance of working as possible. He'll also try to channel the power of creation into the Gem specifically, placing his hand over her forehead, not any particular power, but the feeling of Creation.
Jim sends one of his homunculi to get the door. "I'm going to work until the rest of us get here. No sense in wasting time."
To Keme: ::Well, I guess it's just going to have to work.:: He contacts the rest of the Champions involved as best he can, telling them to convene, starting the operation early. Jim finishes what work he can, and once the others start arriving, He'll pack his homunculi up safe in his chest. He buffs prior to the operation and waits for everyone to arrive.

Before the operation goes on regarding Nasima, I'd like to acquire both Resist Energy and Protection from Energy. I know they don't stack, but resist energy will be a longer-term thing, taking over after Protection from energy runs out.

Certainly appears to have been. I've been pretty out of it today.
Thank you for your assistance, Aananda. Between the six of us, our end should go fairly smoothly, with whoever is left behind to guard. Where did my packmate(s) get off to? It (they) may be of some use during this, whether on our side, or with one of the other groups.
