Generally I believe it's better procedure to clear each room as you go through a building so that you don't get surprised from behind. Unless I'm reading the map wrong, that would mean we check the first (red) door first by listening and then explore it.

I'm happy to talk to the orc in his language, but I thought we were just moving forward. If we aren't:

Jeeves digs in his belt and pulls out a wand, moving it about and intoning magic-sounding words before touching the orc near his feet. "This sometimes works," he whispers to himself.

Embarrassed, he extends the healing wand to Mazrak to use in his stead.

Sadly yes. I'm only wearing a chain shirt with no shield, so my AC isn't that great even with Shield and Haste, especially with Enlarge Person cast on myself.

To help bolster our sense of community and solidarity, I'd like to ask a few questions, if I may. Who in this game is isolated in their home and who is still working and where do you live?

Jeeves, worried about his companions, steps into the giant's house and slashes at the wolf threatening Eldric (Wolf #6) from over his shoulder.

I have the Phalanx Formation feat, so allies in front of me don't provide cover for my target. I'll 5'-step first then:

Full guisarme attack #1 w/PA: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25, Damage #1: 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (1, 3) + 13 = 17

If Wolf #6 is already dead when my turn comes up, Jeeves will instead move to within 10' of another wolf and get a single attack against it (you can use my first attack). He'll try to have cover behind an ally if possible (he's a back row fighter).

Hi folks, I'm FINALLY back, sorry for the long delay. I had a combination of a writing deadline, a new house fiasco, and then my wife and I had our car totaled (while we were in it). We're thankfully both fine, but I've been dealing with the insurance stuff, plus trying to find a new car. Does it make sense that this person has not been overtaken, given how far south he is? Are his defenses good enough to hold off a few hill giants or even frost giants?

Jeeves joins Horek to track down some game (Survival check to assist Horek: 1d20 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (2) = 10, wow that was close!), not understanding that the woodsman probably could have caught a lot more if he hadn't been tromping noisily near him.

The butler spends the rest of the evening attending to the needs of the people they rescued, making sure they have enough to eat and drink and won't get too cold during the night so high in the hills.

During his shared watch with Mazrak, Jeeves gets into a deep discussion in Dwarven about his background, inquiring about his background and family.
