Male Human Rogue 2

I don't think so. My time's getting more limited and I'm having to prioritize my games. My character performance is woefully inadequate, Im not really gripped by the story so far (might be because of coming in late), and I feel like I have a weak grasp of the system because of the unfamiliar rules. All in all I'm just not having that much fun, so rather than drag you guys down I figured I'd just back out.

It was fun for a while, just not a good match for me.

Male Human Rogue 2

"Well don't that just beat all. You know what fellas, it's been interesting, but this military life ain't for me. I'm gonna head back down where it's warmer and start a shop. You ever make it out of the cold, look me up."

Cal gives the officer a dirty look and walks back into town to purchase a horse.

Male Human Rogue 2

Guys, I think I'm going to pull out. I'm just not enjoying this character as much as I thought I would and I'm not feeling that attached to the story.

GM Gray, can you move me to Inactive in the campaign tab?

happy gaming guys.

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal nods and takes the package. "Is there a pick-up when we get there, or just this drop-off?"

Male Human Rogue 2

"Let me know if you decide to go check on Gimli." Cal says before wandering off.

Downtime=moneytime.

Profession: Merchant: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal shrugs and starts listing of an inventory list. It's quite thorough, at least until he's interrupted.

Male Human Rogue 2

"Wait..." Cal says from slightly behind the rest. "I almost got murdered by werewolves so you three could pick up some extra horses?"

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal nods as the Corporal eyeballs him and grins. "Howdy."

Male Human Rogue 2

Well darn. Looks like I'm not as good a merchant as I thought I was.

Male Human Rogue 2

I thought that was what the profession merchant roll was for (haggling). Jaxon doesn't have Diplomacy. Should I have picked that up instead of Profession?

appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Male Human Rogue 2

Ok, here's my list-

Spoiler:

I'd like to go to a moneyhouse or jewelers and change out a few platinum into 400 silver coins, or a silver ingot. By weight that's a pound of silver (40 gp worth, if platinum is rare here I might be able to get a deal).

I have a full set of masterwork craftsman's tools, but I'd like to add some specialty tools to it, namely a chisel of a metal hard enough to cut silver (probably can get that at a jewelers. not sure what the price would be) and a jeweler's drill for boring through metal.

Before Gimli leaves I'd like to buy the ingredients for gunpowder from him (not sure of price, as much as he has and I can afford)

A bolt of linen from a clothiers.

Sealing wax.

Whatever Tanglefoot bags are made of (boiled down horse hair?)

Pepper (black or chili, doesn't )

Small clay jars.

A tower shield.

Armor Spikes.

A wagoneer's bar (basically a heavy metal bar designed to add leverage so wagons can be lifted to change wheels and repair axles)

A heavy-duty metal door hinge.

A rickshaw cart (two wheeled)

an ox (preferably one that's deaf)

Male Human Rogue 2

Profession: Merchant: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Just trying to do some shopping. I know there's no real shops here, but with a high enough check I might be able to find people willing to barter. I'll make a list of goods in Discussion, and you tell me what I can find based on my check result. It can be done "off camera". No need to roleplay it.

Male Human Rogue 2

"I plan on getting handier." Cal said with a scowl, obviously less than thrilled with his performance against the werewolves. "Which reminds me, I've got some specialty shopping to do. Where are you guys staying?"

Male Human Rogue 2

"Thanks. You take care Gim. Hope to see you again."

Wandering into town, Cal followed Alder and Anasath.

"Hey Alder, you guys are some kind of soldiers, right? Is this where you're headed, or is it just a stop?"

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal passed the reins to Gimli and looked perturbed. "Gim, no offense, but this whole trip has been a lot more than I signed on for. You said we were just going to do some trading, you were going to show me the lay of the land so I knew the routes before going into business for myself. I don't know if this land is just utterly f%&~ing dangerous, or if you're just really bad luck, but I don't think I want to keep this up."

Male Human Rogue 2

Eager to be gone, Cal drops down onto the driver's bench and says "Toss all teh stuff in the back and load up. We can check in on the move."

Male Human Rogue 2

Jaxon thumps down on his backside, sweating and puffing. Fear and adrenaline were giving him the shakes. Taking a swig off a flask, he immediately broke out a small notebook and started scribbling in it with a stick of charcoal.

"That is never f$@&ing happening again."

Male Human Rogue 2

Hmm. I must have miscounted the rounds. If it's round 8, I still have silver bullets left. (I had ten)

Cal reloads and fires.

attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
damage (silver): 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Human Rogue 2

I think WW1 is flanked now. If not, ignore the bonuses.

Cal grits his teeth, thoroughly upset now, and fires again.

1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10
damage:silver: 1d10 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (6) = 10

That was the last of my silver bullets. 1/10 is really upsetting.

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal grits his teeth and fires again, this time at the other beast.

Attack (ww1): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
damage (silver): 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Male Human Rogue 2

Fear was beginning to give way to anger as Cal again reloaded.

attack (ww2): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
damage (silver): 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Male Human Rogue 2

I think my action default should be obvious by now. not that it seems to matter much. so far Cal might as well have not even been in the fight. maybe I should set my default to "miss a werewolf"

Male Human Rogue 2

"This is getting ridiculous." Cal mutters to himself, trying to aim and fire again.

WW2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

silver: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Human Rogue 2

"Damnit!" Cal snarls, anger briefly overriding fear. He fires again.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

and misses. Again.

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal reloads and fires again. Dammit! These bullets ain't cheap.

Attack to Wolf2, silver: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

I'm getting real tired of these rolls.

Male Human Rogue 2

"I knew it!!" Cal yelps as he reloads and fires at the southern wolf-man.

touch attack to werewolf 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
damage (silver bullet): 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Male Human Rogue 2

Jaxon yells in incoherent fear as the beasts charge out of the darkness. Seeing the red eyes he fires.

touch attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 9
damage: 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10 silver

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal would like to be stationed up on the wagon. Readied action to fire at the first hostile that comes into view. He's loading a silver bullet, just in case.

Male Human Rogue 2

Have a good trip. Hope whatever it is goes painlessly.

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal stops midway through checking his weapon. "What kind of shapeshifters?" he says uneasily.

Male Human Rogue 2

"Here we go again." Cal muttered grumpily without actually opening his eyes. "With that bird-man out there directing things our way, I'm not willing to assume this is a coincidence."

A moment later he gets up with a groan and checks his gun in it's holster. "Which way?"

Male Human Rogue 2

Cal hadn't slept well the night before. As soon as they stopped for lunch he found a tree to lean against and shut his eyes.

I figure it makes sense with a roll that low

Male Human Rogue 2

"Of course. Bob looked us up last night. He sends his regards."

moral of the story: the gnomish gods are now all gay, which is why gnomish fashion is so fabulous!"

Male Human Rogue 2

"I know that one." Cal says with a grin. "By all accounts, Gond is a pretty nice fellow."

Male Human Rogue 2

"I'm here for work, mostly. My kind of craft is a copper a dozen back home. Out here I'm a rarer commodity. I have some ideas I'd like to try out, maybe start developing some new kinds of weaponry. Just need to test them out in the field. For now, I think I'm sticking with these guys, wherever they're headed."

Peception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

"Yeah, he can be a little on the short side." "[/b]

Cal tries to hold it in, but can't help laughing at the priest's joke.

Male Human Rogue 2

I think I'll just stick with the 5 I rolled. It's above average on a D8.

2 extra grace points added.

Male Human Rogue 2

1d6 ⇒ 5

Level up done. Picked up Rapid Reload and Evasion.

I'm going to craft myself a weapon cord while I wait for the others to finish in the tavern.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Male Human Rogue 2

"He didn't say. I don't think we're waiting for him. Gimli wouldn't have arranged storage for the horse and wagon if we were."

Male Human Rogue 2

"Naw. I gotta get back to work. Thanks for taking care of Gresh."

Cal stables the horse and makes his way back to the main gates to wait on the squad of soldiers.

Male Human Rogue 2

"Uuuuuhhh, sort of? We got attacked by greenskins. I was told to deliver him here. I have this letter. Nobody said anything about any kind of payment or services."

Male Human Rogue 2

The health/grace system confuses me, but I think it's just because I'm not used to it. Other than that, it all seems basically the same as what I'm used to.

Male Human Rogue 2

"So can I make this drop off, or what?"

Male Human Rogue 2
DM Gray wrote:
That's a strange stick at your side. What's it do?"

Cal shrugs. "It's a wand of noisy puncture wounds. My own design."

Male Human Rogue 2

"Oh good Gond." Cal said in exasperation. "I didn't say I was a trader. I'm not here to trade. I said I was a courier. The injured gnome is my package. Here's the letter from the merchant I work for. Sorry, we didn't think to stop at the notary for permits while we were out in the wilderness being attacked by greenskins three nights in a row. All we're here to do is drop off the guy who's too hurt to keep traveling and then keep going. We don't plan on staying in your precious city any longer than we have to."

Male Human Rogue 2

"Just a courier delivering a package." Cal shrugs. "There a problem?"

Male Human Rogue 2

"Sure. Write the letter. We'll get him into the wagon."

Male Human Rogue 2

"Yeah, sure." Cal shrugs. "Am I just dropping him off at a hospice or church, or do you want me to stay with him?"

Male Human Rogue 2

"Follow a bird flyin' in this weather?" Cal says incredulously. "Unless you folks have some impressive magic up your sleeves, I don't think so."

Male Human Rogue 2

"Some guy in a blue cloak just turned into a bird and flew of that way!" Cal says, coming back to the main camp and pointing.
