Jack just raises an eyebrow at the elf and takes another swig of the wine, never taking his eyes off the elf's, silently telling him what he thought of his reminder. Sighing loudly after the swig the damhphir smiles coldly and takes a puff of the pipe, nodding thanks to Targi, the fire was in his belly, the world was making sense, the headace was gone and his head was clear, Jack was feeling good. To the seven hells with the elf's reminder.

Sidling over to the map with a calm grace to his step Jack eyes the parchment. "This lot is as disorganized as a nest of rats, everybody minding his own little corner of the prison, hoping to stay out of sight from the bigger rats. We could set this place aflame and walk out the gate unmolested while they scurried to fight the fire and blame each other for the others incompetence. But still.." he mutters, an evil glint in his eye. "I'd like to visit the warden and give him a personal 'thank you' for his hospitality, and good Sergeant Blackelry surely deserves our personal farewells."

"So far we have raised no alarms, I say use it and raid the armory, visit the warden, then set the prison afire and walk out the front gate."

Hey guys. A heads up from me here.

I'll be moving this summer, end of July most probably, so my internet might get hectic during that time but bigger news; I just got accepted into Reykjavik University where I'll be studying for a BSc in Computer Science for the next three years, starting august 19th. I don't know how that will impact my schedule or my ability to play play-by-post, time will have to tell.

No rogue taking the shortsword? Then Jack will, he'll hit better with it with weapon finesse. He'll keep it till he get's his hands on a dueling sword.

Eyeing the possessions in the various chests Jack picks up the short sword and exchanges it for the longsword he carried. "I'm much more proficient with lighter blades." he states, defensive about the fact that he's switching out a heavier blade with more potential for damage. "A dueling sword would fit my hands better."

Seeing the various loot go into various pockets Jack's eyes light up at the sight of the wine and grog, which he hastily swipes and clutches to his chest. "MINE!" he snarls and, turning his back to the party, pops the cork of the fine wine and proceeds to gulp it down with alarming speed.

Catching his breath, staring at the now half-empty bottle, a smile creeps across the bastard-vampire's face and a long content sigh escapes from his lips as he sways a bit on his feet. Turning with the quickness and grace inherent to his race he smiles fully at his new-found companions, saying nothing. Walking over to the chest with the pipe and tobacco with limber movements and a spring in his step he proceed to sit on the chest and stuffing the pipe. Patting himself down a confused expression creeps over his face and he looks to the party. "Anybody got a light?" he asks hopefully.

Coming into the barracks as Todin slices open a guards throat, Jack follows suit and slices open a second throat.

"Thats right!" Jack is quick to pick up, "We're new guards and, eh.. Gordie here, he's eh.. showin' us around. I'm Jack!" Jack flashes a tight-lipped smile to not show his canines. "Now, eh.. Grumblejack here, eh.. he's, eh.. he's goin' to stretch his legs an' get a spot of fresh air now, ok? Wardens orders."

Seeing the guard reach for the horn, Jack moves to him as quickly as he can, drawing his sword, and attempts to smash the horn out of his hands.

I believe our posessions were burnt before our eyes about the same time as we got the brand.

Jack eyes the silver holy symbol before tossing it to Malak. "Here, priest! Make use of it. Now, let's get the hell out of here."

Jack frowns at Shalastar's comment about the scarf and brings it up and scowls at it. "Yes, there is." he states and starts picking at the embroidery of the Asmodean pentagram.

Standing back to allow Grumblejack to pass Jack eyes the ogre and wonders at the possibilities, glancing at Malak Jack shrugs and dons a surcoat.

"As I said, might give us the moments surprise we need." he says and picks up a club as well, completing the disguise as best he can.

Dressed as guard he gestures to the ogre. "Please. Feel free." he says indicating the door.

Jack dons a surcoat. I'm hoping we can get Grumplejack to lead the charge.

JAck steps up carefully with his newly acquired sword in hand and looks into the cell. Seeing the ogre he gives a toothy grin, revealing his canines, and a glimmer of hope reaches his eyes.

"Hey big guy. We're gettin' out, feel like taking a breath of fresh air? We can let you out the cell, buddy." he offers the ogre, hoping it will lead the way, sowing enough chaos and destruction in it's wake for them to be able to walk out with minimal effort.

Starting at the bellow Jack abruptly forgets all retorts and comebacks aimed at the arrogant elf and the bald human.

Jumping into action Jack hastes over to Tragen and, swirling the vials contents, forces the potion down his throat.

"What about the sleeper?" Jack asks Todin, eyeing him work as he himself fiddles with the veil.

Finishing his dress up Jack goeas over to Kyruls' corpse and takes the lockpicks off it and tosses them to the bodies manacled in the cell.

"Here. You know how to use this?" He asks, raising an eyebrow before turning to Mordred's corpse. Taking the veil off his hands Jack inspects the images on it, two daggers and a set of lockpicks had been produced from it and an embroidered window and a pair of vials remained. Puzzling over it a bit her picks at an embroidery of a vial. "Let's hope this is useful."

Mordred had the shawl, I guess the next in line would be any of the potential leaders (read divine or high cha semi-divine whatever's). Targen or Targi perhaps? Seems odd story-wise to hand it over to Malak at the moment as he's still sleeping. But, meh.. I guess you could hand wave it.

Jack strips the guard of his chain shirt along with his boots and gloves and dons them as well as taking his weapon belt and quiver and straps it on but leaver the bow, livery and shield.

Hesitating he looks back at the livery. "Maybe I should put on uniform as well? Might throw them off for a bit, give us the element of surprise if we happen upon someone stupid enough to not know whats going on by now."

Holding an arrow to the bow Jack holds for a moment to see if more danger presents itself. With no apparent foe, the dogs dead and the guards subdued, dead or fled, he hastes toward one fallen guard and strips him of his armor and weapons.

"Anyone a healer?" he asks as he works on the dead guard. "Targen could use some attention. And would some one please get the picks to those in the cell? They'll be usefull in getting out." he states. 'If not only for fodder.'

Megan: Loot? And who has the shawl and the picks with both Kyrul and Mordred gone?

I'm wondering if we're going to do a recruitment every time someone drops out. Dropping out is the way with pbp and we have a large enough, and diverse enough, group that loosing a player or two really doesn't matter all that much. I'm all for having all the sins represented but, frankly, I'd like to get the game moving.


You forgot; Tragen Blackmourne, male aasimar (angelkin) antipaladin (wrath, grave robbery).


I'd focus on the background unless you feel the crunch is necessary for it :) I, for one, like to think that I look more to that than the mechanics. [/2cp]

Jack snarls after the dog as it turns tail and runs, revealing his prolonged canines, before turning a critical eye toward the cell with the roused inmates.

"Kyrul! Throw them the tools! We need all the help we can get!" he barks at the half elf before turning to the last guard wielding a bow and snapping of a shot at him.

I think Megan, being the one with all the information, is best suited to find and 'in' but one of the cells or an adjacent prison block comes to mind. Maybe we'll intercept you as you're being brought into the cells as new prisoners to join us on death row.

The original idea was cad 2/rogue 3/assassin ?/duelist ? so it wouldn't break the concept, Kyrul was our rogue and unlocking those shackles will become hard if we have no rogue.
