GM, can you give us a little guidance here? I share Barley's sense that there's little reason (in-game) for us to trust anything the Baron is saying. On the other hand, I have the sense (out-of-game) that the next thing we're supposed to do to move the story along is go into the mirror.

She's trying to become a Scarab Sage (it's a boon on a particular chronicle sheet), which requires her to check a lot of boxes on her faction journal cards. One of the goals is to have character level (minimum 4) ranks in Knowledge, Linguistics, or Appraise. Since she's 4th level now, she's taken 4 ranks in K:Arcana and K:Planes in order to check those boxes on two of her different faction cards (season 8 and season 9). She's also got a 12 Int, so 4 ranks, plus class skill, plus +1 from Int gets her to +8. K:History is a result of the Planar Sages boon that she has earned on her Scarab Sages faction card. So, altogether, Hoprah has spent 8 skill points and likely won't spend anymore once she has those faction boxes checked.
