As if snapping out of a trance Hana answers Miikae Oh, yes of course onward. We have about 20 minuits to go. Due to the severity of the situation I am going to have to leave these men for now, but after we have dealt with Sleif we can return Hana says with a palpable sense of disappointment. Gurney, in case I do not make it you know what to do. We have to declare the crisis and lock down Alkenstar. You travel for 10 more min and you can see the door up ahead. It is a Large Iron Double Door. It has been barred from the inside with a large oak board. There she is, we've made it. I hope those lads below us are ok. Gurney says as he checks his weapons and adjusts his gear.
Marching Order then-
You enter the chamber unsure what to expect. This portion of the bunker is obviously older then the rest. From time to time you see some kind of symbols on the walls as you pass by.
Knowledge Religion DC 15(+5 for followers of Torag):
These symbols are obviously of Torag. They are much older than you would have expected to see. They tell a story of a time when Dwarves had a Sky Citadel, this place seems to have been some sort of "Anchor" where Dwarves could pay homage to their earthen deity. Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 20:
Portions of the ceiling here appear unstable, this passageway must be very old because Dwarves are famous for their craftsmenship of underground structures. I am sorry this happened like this, Sleif as always had some strange infatuation with me. I guess it was out of pitty I allowed him to be one of my Guaurdsmen. He was sweet, but I could never love a Gnome.I do not know what hes up too, but I think he must have been tricked or something. Hana opens up to Kera seeking some solace.
Greysov, you were the only one I noticed that got my message. I would beg of you a favor. Go with the group into the sewer and give this to Samuel Reidford. Hanna hands Greysov a Star Pendant made of Fire Forged Steel. You can find him in the Black Powder Saloon. There is a sewer access on the way to the courtyard. Give him this and tell him its time. Any Alkenstar Born Characters: The Duchess is claiming a time of Crisis. Martial Law will be held over Alkenstar until it is undone.
That is fine Zadok, you would not have heard pervince probably until it was too late as you are ahead in initative and acted in the surprise round. Round 1 so far
Zadok makes a well aimed shot and hits the Gnome. Pervince bravley closes in with the attacker, blocking the Duchess from any more abuse. The Gnomish attacker fires his grapple weapon into the ceiling. The gears of his weapon rapidly pull him as he swings for the door way. I am sorry brothers. No time to explain. Acrobatics1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 As he flys over head he drops a vial of some greasy substance on the ground behind you. Pervince: Stop him. He has my... The Duchess whispers to you before she passes out. A rag with some substance falls to the ground next to her.

Sense Motive DC 20:
You have never seen or heard of the Duchess being so distraught. There must be something else at work here. Sense Motive DC 25(if speak Dwarf add 5 to roll):
The Duchess is trying to pass on a secret message using facial, hand and lip movement. She is telling you that someone maybe listening to the conversation and that she is in danger. Please seek out Samuel Reidford The room is a dark 30'x30' cellar. You were brought here blindfolded, but you believe you are under one of the Guard Towers. Other than the balcony from which the Duchess addresses you, the stone walls are empty, but clean. There is no furnature here and the only exit is the way you came in, a 10'x4' doorway that leads to some stairs you remember. There are several guards here, most of them are Dwarven and carrying large Reidford rifles. The Guard directly in front of you wears the Alkenstar Shield of Valor and has a stern look on his face.
Knowledge Dungeoneering DC 15:
This cellar does not seem that deep, and you remember by the steps you took that it can not be more than 40' below ground level of the city. The east wall looks fresh, and there seems to be a draft coming from it that smells of gunpowder and dried rations. Knowledge Local DC 10:
It is a well known fact that The Reidford's have several hidden bunkers in the city with arms and supplies. This could be one of them. Everyone make a Perception roll, if you had access to the second sense motive check add 2 circumstance bonus
Shortly after you dispatch the Hag, Annis Hana arrives with a group of scouts. A Hag, Quickly search the area for others, this may be a covey She says to two of the scouts that break off and begin to track the area. She sees the dead sentry No, not Ulric, this was his first expedition. She says with sorrow. Thank you for dispatching this foul beast, I will report this incident to Alkenstar, the remainder of my scouts will patrol the area for any more intruders, Hags sometimes live with others and or ogres and giants. This one looks very old though, and is probably solitary. With that Hana leaves. The rest of the night goes on without incident.
Oh ya can roll survival too to learn things also. Xara:
You ask Hana more about the desert, and she is very short with you. (failed diplomacy) Herani:
You ask Hana more about desert life and she just shakes her head. (failed diplomacy) Green! HA! Only a human or elf would dream of green. I am a Dwarf! Don't get me wrong though, Drogon Hold is a very nice hold, even humans complement us on it. Two days from now you will see, the landscape will change dramaticly. There is even a water fall near Alkenstar.
Well we meet each other outside of the Capital. I was recieved as ambassador to Nex. I am extremely resistant to magic, having been born in the wastes, most of us from the wastes are, but I am an extreme case. Magical healing rarely works on me, and when it does it is not nearly as effective. Anyways, so that is why I was choosen as Ambassador to Nex. I got you all in as part of my ensemble as a favor for Arodeth to honor my parents who were harbingers in the days of Arodeth's father. Lord Elimon aranged to meet us secretly in the courtyard of his City villa,it was a trap. He tried to take my memories too, but the magic didn't work on me, so brought in a sadistic Inquisitor and a strange man that worked with something he called kemikals, and they brain washed and tortured us, and mad us drink the kemikals. Still these things had little effect on me, but I tried to play it off so that I would not be hurt further. Elimon decided to sell us to an Allied tribe in the wastes to Honor Lamashtu. Elimon is a half-ork, though he looks more human then most and has a human complection. That is all I remember.
The Dwarven girl gets into her things after a quick rinse with some water, and puts on some decent cloths. Thanks for finishing off that monster.I never got a chance to tell you much befor Elimon betrayed us, but it seems you have regained some of your memories now. I work for Alkenstar as an ambassador of sorts with Nex, but my parents served Arodeth's father as harbingers. When they passed, I promised them I would assist the harbingers when I could. I am sorry I did not uncover Elimons plot befor. She sighs. Please come to Alkenstar with me, and I will answer any of your questions. I talked Alkenstar into giving me a few extra firearms and ammunition, there is not many places on our way that magic works, and one of the Calikang is unaccounted for. I think it is the one that was sent to be punished, if it comes back with reinforcements it could get nasty. Gather things and get some rest, it is a three day journy on foot, there is not enough water in this accursed land to support horses. |
