Tumor Familiar says: The tumor has all the abilities of the animal it resembles (for example, a batlike tumor can fly) and familiar abilities based on the alchemist’s caster level (though some familiar abilities may be useless to an alchemist). The tumor acts as the alchemist’s familiar whether attached or separated (providing a skill bonus, the Alertness feat, and so on). When attached to the alchemist, the tumor has fast healing 5. I read this as, when its attached its still the creature it is. it may have limited actions, as its attached, but still has actions.

The group i was running thru this, got to near end of book 5 before we put the game on hold. I was really curious to see how book 6 would play out.. and how others handle it.. but havent seen anyone post anything on groups in book 6
yes there is.. It's from the Oracle Class, Old Gods Mystery By My Name You Shall Call Me (Su) As a creature attuned to the eldritch corridors of power, you can hear your name spoken aloud, even over great distances. If another creature speaks your name, you may observe it as if you had cast scrying. At 15th level, you may also choose to move to the speaker's location as if through greater teleport. You can detect creatures speaking your name to a range of 100 miles per oracle level. You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation.

Lol... where does it say this, anywhere? He's a murderhobo, er adventurer. Once he learns there is a threat to his life, he can deal with it/react to it. If this rogue/player is actually stupid enough to make a character to explicitly kill another player, he deserves to die. As GM, I would have no problem with the paladin killing the rogue, once he knew the rogue was coming for him.. even with metagaming. Sort of s$@@ty for the rogue player to come at someone like that to begin with.

Im not a kickstarter backer, as with Gary's previous projects being late, I was prudent on this one (woot). But I have been watching these threads on Throne of Night (I have the first 2) waiting for any news/developments. I would be amazed if Kickstarter did anything, from what I've read, and really think you'd probably get more action out of 314 people sending Gary a letter (each) to his house (address listed in the front of every product he has done)

First off, NO WAY survivors would run back to the king, and inform him BEFORE a teleporting party gets there.. That's just a bad plan, and shows inexperience THREE Sorcerers, that are CR 80?!?!?! wth.. with 3 sorcerers that level, they had no need to hire the party, and again.. wow.. If the players are set on having a pet troll, you should run with it, and make them work hard to have it. But, outright heavy-handedness, and smackdowns isn't the way to do it. Here's how i think i would handle it: Party teleports into king chambers... general panic ensues as there is a troll with them. Let the party try to diplomacy things to get a "neutral/stable" environment. If they do that well enough, even have the king put them in a suite or chambers, guarded of course (multiroom/ wing of castle). Then have the troll eat a guard or two that night, with the party being the first to know..before sh*t hits the fan.. they now have to figure out what to do, as they gave the king their assurances the Troll was "domesticated/reformed" >=D (add in more Troll licking fingers like he's done with another bucket of chicken for more effect) >=D
hmm..I don't think initially you are too far off. BUT, if the players want this troll hanging around them, maybe have a RP session with the king (Mesmerist uses diplomacy on King) saying the troll is being "reformed/redeemed" This could lead to a few hilarious situations (depending on how well they can redeem the Troll, or how you want the story to play out) As well, as far as the "tower shield" does.. I believe mimic glue can be dissolved with alcohol. So shouldn't be a problem getting it off his arm. Or the Troll could just chew his arm off, and regenerate a new one =D PS. Maybe instead of Troll covered in blood, as they walk into the Throne room, the troll is finishing licking his fingers just like he finished a bucket of fried chicken >=D

ya the group I ran thru did a similar thing... but it was just a "communicator rod" style of thing, lesser range (think it was bout 300ft) but no charges.

They are decent adventures, in their own right... but honestly, if you want to run this as a whole, I wouldn't buy s!%# til is all out. In addition, I would probably recommend not buying anything from them til its all released. 3 years, with no explanation, is ludicrous.
The Skeptical Gnome wrote: Hm. If it's off the table advice you're looking for, that fronts been more then dealt with by the above post. So I guess I'll give some in-game advice. As far as actual firepower goes, you don't sound like your in very bad shape, if you can martial what you've stated above. Whether you want to avoid a fight or not, the most obvious advice is to martial your forces. Talk with those non employee groups, try and guarantee that they'll come to your aid if a fight breaks out. This will not only strengthen your defenses in the event that he tries to strong arm you, but more importantly it will make you look like an unappealing target. He may consider you a takeover option because you've been fairly subtle about all your potential firepower if it comes down to it. If you are being subtle, stop doing that. Make it obvious that you can be a force to be reckoned with if a fight does happen. He may decide not to bother the rest of you, or, and not to throw anyone under the bus here, he may decide another pc makes a juicier target. This may sound cruel, but if he shows his true colours and attacks someone else, then you can probably convince others to unite with you against him. Even if the other player are A-ok with some pc vs pc fighting, I doubt that they'd just roll over and do nothing if he completely wipes out another pc. If this happens, you may be able to unite with the others PCs against him, which will force him to either suicide against the entirety of the party, or back down and start playing nice. This won't solve the obvious behavioural issues, but it will give you time to deal with it off-table. I would agree with most of this.. but.. I would suggest in addition, once you come up with a plan, STRIKE FIRST!!!! Telling him you are getting ready, then waiting for his move, is suicide in my opinion. Figure out your plan, and strike at him. Killing him if you feel you have no choice, or just cripple him, if you feel after that he will leave you alone. I've been on the receiving end of PVP, had a guy settin up plans to attack other players, totally saw it coming, and told him so, it only altered his plans/ beefed them up. DO NOT WAIT, STRIKE FIRST!!

nuke the city.. sacrificing 100k to save a world is a no-brainer in my book.. whether they are "innocent" or not.. which i HIGHLY doubt they are innocent they would have to know there is an army of robots poised to invade another land and be okay with that, doesn't matter... NUKE EM ALL and let god sort em out.. (then loot the corpses) =D

I would think, depending on the timetable of this resurrection, and the foundation of how they hear on the rumors, the response could vary wildly. A strong/well trusted rumor source, and no time to investigate would indicate an incoming strike team to stop it imo. Most other factors, would tend towards an investigation. This could be on two fronts, the first could be a "formal inquiry" style.. A government agent shows up and starts asking questions. Meanwhile a secondary investigation starts.. one using secrecy/behind the scenes to uncover facts the first wouldn't.
I would think if you isolated the goblins from "old" goblin society.. and had education programs (even augmented with magic spells to encode information learning) you could enhance/re-create goblin society This whole premise could be an incredible story arc imo.. the players find a "lost/hidden goblin city" of vastly superior goblins
personally I think it would be an interesting accomplishment to take goblins separate them from their tribes at birth, and raise them/ educate them; so that they aren't afraid of writing. I don't see why this wouldn't be viable to "recreate" the goblin race into a more devious/menacing form then the "buffoonery" they are currently
It would be very interesting to see...points of contention 1) what is the theme? pretty self-explanatory 2) length of adventure(s) pretty self-explanatory 3) fulfillment of product(s) tied into the next point.. depending on outlay of $$$, and having seen some projects on kickstarter fail in fulfillment.. its a concern regardless of who's who 4) cost for each level and to get copies reasonable pricing for each tier.. pdf's, physical copies, bonus things.
My group just got into this book. It's a large group, and I've been modifying stuff for a larger group. The group consists of : Swashbuckler/rogue -"Indiana Jones style" whip master (trips galore)
they also have Grumblejack with them.. who's going into Fighter(greatsword) They lack healing... But they are the proverbial glass cannons... they hit REALLY hard. Anyone have any great ideas to challenge them? They have just started the Ritual, and in week one.
I would suggest if you are going to use time travel you use the "infinite multiverse theory" wherein there are an infinite number of possible multiverses and all possible things that could occur do occur. When the players time travel they would jump to alternate realities wherein those choices exist.
I tend to agree with the above posts saying no.. but if you did want to invest the time/effort into doing it, once word gets out.. the gm should throw every nasty guy at you to take that technology/ put you in a slave labor camp making it for him. =D Anyone you can do, I can do better!! - GM's everywhere
I problem I see, right off the bat, is the amount of feeding that needs to occur. It says the vampire needs to feed 15 hp or suffer the negative effects of failure to feed enough. But under simplified feeding to feed that amount they need to hit a DC of 65 ( 15 + Alert Level + mod ). The mod is 1 hp per 5 dc over the needed 15 ( assuming Alert 0 ) + 10 hps worth. So that extra 10hps worth is 10 x 5 = 50, thus the 65. If I am reading that correctly. DC 65 don't seem too simple to me =P
