Gilgar wrote: Gilgar gives the ol' grunt'n'shrug, but steps aside for Graymoon to pass. The elven ranger begins to move into the hall before a strong voice speaking in Draconic is heard. "Goazen, gizakiak, zure heriotza esku dago! Truescales tribuaren kondenatuta diozu zure meddling, baina ezin izango duzu bizi istorioa kontatzeko! Zure heriotzaren zain dago!" Draconic:
"Come, humans, your death is at hand! You have doomed the tribe of the Truescales with your meddling, but you will not live to tell the tale! Your death awaits!" Graymoon pauses. "It would appear that we are expected."
The ranger tries to get to his feet once again. Reflex to stand: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 He tries to move to aid the dwarf with the sniper. Reflex to move: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 He and Gilgar are now adjacent to the target, who is penned in by enemies and walls. He will have to provoke an AoO to get away from them at this point.
Graymoon frowns at his friends' situation and decides he can't stand back and shoot like this. Handing his bow to the kobold adept, he moves into the slime as he draws his long blade. Reflex to move: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 With a curse, he falls and tries to stand back up. Reflex to stand: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Hmm, interesting question. Let's say with two missiles, you have a 25% chance of targeting the right spot and then a 50% chance of hitting it. Casting light is a standard action. If you also fire, that will happen next round, but you can hand it to Graymoon and have him shoot it instead and use your move action to do something else. Assuming you do: How's his aim?: 1d100 ⇒ 42
His aim was off and his missed what he aimed at, anyway. Which way was he off?: 1d8 ⇒ 6 Down and left
Misjudging the height of the floor in the darkness, Graymoon skips the arrow across the floor. As it goes, it leaves furrows in a strange translucent gel-fluid seen everywhere in the room before coming up against the far wall. While it missed him, it had a benefit - you can see the sneering kobold reloading his crossbow where he sits astride a slurk on the far side of the room. Also, the arrow gets the attention of a second beast and another slurk appears from the corner ahead and to your left, a strangely motionless rider on its back.
With a concerned look at the dwarf, Graymoon moves into the mouth of the tunnel looking for threats. Seeing none, he sheathes his sword and starts gathering weapons and tossing them into the cauldron. "Don't want others to come in and use these on us, too." When it's done, the following has been collected: Small masterwork heavy pick
Some of the armor is a little the worse for wear. The metal mining helmet worn by the strongman kobold has been crushed nearly flat, for example, so the ranger ignores it. When he's done, he drags each of the bodies to the pit below the cauldron and lets them drop. "A rest is a good idea. I think the room above this would be easily defended - the doors are stout and the cauldron is the only way up. We can prevent its operation from up top."
Seeing the dwarf's opponent fall, Graymoon tries to end his battle, as well. Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21
Wow. What are the odds we would have the exact same rolls? I will have to confirm when I get on my other computer, but I know those hit and I'm pretty sure that puts both of them out for the count.
Graymoon, seeing the newcomer fall, focuses on his previous target. Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 = 24 Base, Favored Enemy
A masterful feint has the kobold blocking high while the sword dips low and in, staggering in game terms; limited to one action per round the creature.
Attacking the newcomer, Graymoon takes advantage of the target's flanked situation. Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 16 Base, Favored Enemy, Flanked
As the kobold pulls back on his spiked chain preparing for another attack, Graymoon's curved blade slips in through a gap in the chain and end his threat for good. Myrmidon 1 down.
I don't have Glenna's stats, so she will climb into the cauldron and otherwise delay. Graymoon stows his bow move action and tells the dwarven monk, "Get the boy up here, I'm going down." Readies an action to climb down when the rope's free. As Hollin continues to climb, Aggo starts reeling him in, finally lifting the boy to the ledge beside him before dropping the rope back down and bracing himself to support the tall elf's weight. Climb check DC 20: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 + 2 = 23 Bonus for rope use, bonus for descending, accelerated climb Alternating sliding and climbing, the elf is about 25' from the floor after his move. Kimi grabs Hollin in a fierce hug almost before his feet touch the ground and the two of them run to where the other boys wait, eye wide.
Surprised, the elf chuckles and looks at Nox. "And I thought we were supposed to be the ones that changed course quickly." Checking to make sure his sword and daggers are in their respective sheaths, he draws his bow and fits an arrow to the string, waiting to see what comes into sight below. Two rounds for the kettle to reach the floor - unless the crew lets go!
"I think the time for flight may be past, musician. Unless I miss my guess, you and the boys should be strong enough to hoist the cauldron - the lot of you have to be stronger than a half dozen kobolds. You two - you've seen this used - you show them what they need to do." Looking at Gilgar, still looking around the room. "My barbarian friend, it's time to try out your new hammer. If they run to us, let's meet them halfway - question is, do we lower the cauldron to bring them to us, or do we get into the cauldron and meet them below?" Hope you will forgive a bit of a push here. To clarify, there is a block-and-tackle system mounted to the ceiling from which the cauldron dangles. The rope to lower the cauldron is tied off to one side of the room. Unless someone objects to the ranger's plan, Edgrin the bard and the rescued boys, along with the kobold slaves, will move to the rope and try to lower the cauldron. The question is whether there will be anyone in it when it goes down or not.
Gilgar feels a very satisfying thud as his axe catches the fiendish smith in the back and drives him into his own anvil and his hammer goes crashing to the ground.. "Well struck, Gilgar! He's not moving!" Pause, then he says, "What sort of creature was this? There is no blood, and he's still hotter than the Nine Hells." Anyone wish to make a knowledge check? You hear Aggo's feet slapping on the stone as he runs back up the hall to join the fray. As he gets there, the two blinded characters begin to regain their sight.
"He's running, jumping over the anvil! Don't let him get away!" Attack of Opportunity with -2 penalty if you are blinded. Graymoon attempts to run the dwarf through. GM Screen:

Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 67 Curved Blade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
A miss with a miss chance. Not fated to hit this round. Gilgar? Nox? Who's going to close the deal?
Graymoon presses his attack. He shouts, "Aggo, when you come back, bring a club or something!" Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 No crit.
Gilgar and Nox. Aggo will not arrive until next round.
Graymoon looks over in surprise as the Druid lunges past, maybe enough to avoid the worst of the cinders. Reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 Turning to the raging smith, Graymoon attacks. Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
The cloud settles around the anvil, granting everyone concealment.
The dwarf, seemingly as much chain and barbs as flesh, sees the charging Gilgar, but is unable to react much more than to turn his head from the metal he is hammering on. Unfortunately, the chains that cover him are up to the task of deflecting the barbarian's axe. He turns his attention from his work and turns toward Gilgar, swinging the warhammer that he was using to hammer the link into his chain. Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Gilgar dodges, but finds himself moving directly into the path of the hammer rather than out of it. A bit of luck or maybe a blessing from Torag himself allows him to almost twist out of the way, avoiding a crushing blow. Behind the chained dwarf, Nox and Aggo make short work of the boy's bonds and he's free. Seeing that he is not needed with the boy, Graymoon slides around the anvil to protect them if the forger notices them. No attack.
The elf likewise struggles with the wind, making it impossible for him to strike as precisely as he would like. That is, no sneak attack. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Confirmation Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
No crit, but what a hit!
