There's a new Disney song that applies here, what is it...

Oh yea,
Let it go.

Let's see, according to the ideas thrown out here, Ozem's Vigil is in the best spot, with the coolest alignment, and we are still recruiting companies and free agents. Stop being jealous and join us!

Yay, excited to play as a faithful of Iomedae!

I'm quite keen to see the Goblin level in play - we use VTT with individual lighting effects, so the characters that don't have darkvision will literally only be able to see a 5-feet radius around themselves. I've had "darkness" fights using the VTT lighting mechanics before that were incredibly exciting, so I think this has a lot of potential. It could however be a tricky fight for level 1 characters if one runs the goblins as smarter or more tactical than they are portrayed - goblins relying heavily on ranged attacks or hit-and-run attacks inside the darkness effect would cause a lot of problems.

It's important to keep in mind that the moon spider is still affected by the obscuring mist - like blindsense, tremorsense only lets you locate the square creatures are in. they still suffer from miss chance when making attacks.

A fairly easy fix to make the pits less lethal is to make them normal pit traps instead of spiked ones.

It is really fun on VTT. Two elves (lowlight) & two aasimar (darkvision). The Aasimar kept leading the elves around, but they basically ended up supporting the aasimars. The elf players were frustrated especially when the ceiling fell on them, but I think it sets the mood of the dungeon as no joke. The party is currently holed up resting inside the ruins level. Should be fun.

Have we even mentioned the fact we are landrushing for strategic locations such as being close to starmetal. This idea would render that moot.

Whether the developers design it or not, there will be consequences to every action in the game.

This is quantitative data. Just the facts accumulated, from Land Rush, plus the NC & RA lists.

It's to help everyone understand what's going on, and to be informed. I'm sure NC & RA have something similar, but now we all can reference the same.

Thanks for the positive words everyone! It's always great to see such a supportive environment in this game.

Here is a map showing all the settlement placements this week with names color-coded to better understand the geopolitical scheme. I think everyone will find it helpful. Thanks to fellow FMS guildmate, Sundracon for making this:

To reiterate what Quietus said, as another independent settlement we've had to adjust choices as Land Rush is progressing. We feel your pain. If you ever want to talk about it, door is open, and good luck.

I am back from my vacation! So excited to be back in the swing of things. I'm still the diplomat & recruiter for Full Metal Syndicate, I didn't dissapear.

From the beginning FMS has worked very hard to find our niche. Back around the time of the second kickstarter, we arrived on the forums under our main guild's name, Gayme 0n. We were passively reading the GW information trickling in.

Then a few months back we get the wake-up call from other companies that Land Rush is imminent. We quickly realize we need to figure out our part in the community. Gayme 0n is a brilliant rainbow of players, one of the few multi-game LGBT organizations. We fiercely love that rainbow, but we need to be more than that. So Full Metal Syndicate was born, focusing on crafting & metals.

That's when the diplomacy really started. The Big Three all opened their doors and welcomed us whole-heartedly. For me, that was the first moment that I really got excited about the community. The positivity was overflowing. I am sure the other independents know exactly what I am saying.

At the time though, we didn't feel like we had gotten our idea right. We developed our thoughts long range. We need to be economically strong to build ourselves in the early, we need to specialize in the midgame, and at the time siege happens we will be interdependent with other companies and settlements.

Crafting some things that are exclusive will help us early game, but what was missing for the mid-game? That's where paladins, justice, and religion came in. Other communities are going for broad appeal, while we are staying focused.

However, we know that alone we would be weaker. Furthermore, we expected mergers to happen during Land Rush, so we started as soon as we can. We are incredibly lucky to find Peace Through Vigilance and Fidelis, they both want the same things we do. And it's really great building Ozem's Vigil together.

We have accomplished a lot as a company. We founded the largest independent settlement that exists in Land Rush so far. I'm sure there is plenty of speculation why we are still independent. The point of this lookback is to clearly and definitively proclaim: We are a company based in diversity, we take our independence very seriously. We want to keep that atmosphere for our players.

In the socialization that is happening during Land Rush, information is getting muddled. By looking back on all the positive gameplay we've all experienced, Full Metal Syndicate just wants to reinforce what our company's core value is, because it truly goes beyond pixels.

Is there a list of signatories that will be updated? Or did I miss it?

Goblin Squad Member

Hey everyone! I will be on vacation starting Thursday and will be gone for two weeks. Any diplomatic relations should be forwarded to Quietus. Meanwhile, I have a flight to Florida with my name on it.

I have been trying very hard to get ahold of Tarondor, because the Crusader Road is an obvious fit with Ozem's Vigil. He's gotten back to me once, apparently his real life is taking over, but that's about the end of it. None of us at Ozem's Vigil want to poach anyone, but everyone is welcome to setup shop as free agents with us.

Ozem's Vigil is the Lawful Good settlement, and we cannot wait to be Paladins of the River Kingdoms and to provide the economic & militant support. Visit our website & click 'Apply to Settle' and you can join as a free agent by joining at the Settlement level or join one of the sponsoring companies by joining at the Company level.

Would be fantastic to have y'all as another company at Ozem's Vigil though. If you all reorganize as a company and want a settlement to share, please let us know.

Ozem's Vigil is the Lawful Good settlement. Playing LG will be the most difficult but the most rewarding gameplay. I think you would fit in great with us! Visit our website & click 'Apply to Settle' and you can join as a free agent or join one of the sponsoring companies.

Yay, me too. I want to be a LG Cleric of Iomedae. You'd fit in great in our settlement. You can join as a free agent if you like. Vote here for the settlement & click 'Apply to Settle' and choose Settlement level to join as just a free agent.

Our site does suck right now, but that'll be fixed soon enough. Prepping for the guild land rush came at a bad time so we're slow getting it put together!

Also the guild has been around for almost 20 years between Ultima Online, Everquest, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, and many more games.

Oh, who am I kidding with these poor excuses. I think we've been had Toombs. Pack the truck!

Nice, I'm attending UCF in the fall and will be looking to play some PFS. :)

Right now, I'm planning on being a Cleric of Iomedae. And we will see what happens down the line.

Don't be so quick to judge the OP, maybe it is a Pax member who is concerned about their guilds ethics. People who try to uphold high ethical standards get personal attacks from all the ones who think they don't answer to anyone.

I'm sorry, but I see that as a logical fallacy of shifting the burden of proof. For my opinion, I do not need to prove the motives to make a move like what the OP did as 'permissible.' There is no social credit at play from the OP, so I still see it as a move to cast aspersions without accepting the ramifications within our social gameplay. In another forum setting I would definitely feel different, but there's more at play here.

Well said Dancey, exactly how I'd assess it. I'd furthermore like to say I believe the OP accomplished what he wanted to do: throw shade without blowback on himself. He is almost effectively 'whistleblowing' and stepping away after stirring the pot. I don't appreciate that underhanded maneuvering by the OP.

As for the current political climate, it is what it is. FMS has been brazenly clear that we understand the landscape and believe in unification of similar companies to create the vision we have as our path. We haven't signed any accord or joined any empire in hopes of beneficent votes.

We are very happy with the work we are accomplishing in creating a wholesome settlement and have no other opinion than to say we do not like the throwaway account tactic to stir this pot.

Why yes we do, we're currently #6 on the leaderboard! Vote for Ozem's Vigil!

Full Metal Syndicate, in cooperation with Peace Through Vigilance, is excited to announce the name of our settlement in Pathfinder Online!

Deep in the mountains and foothills of the River Kingdoms, Ozem’s Vigil will be a bastion of light in the darkness. We will build a Lawful Good community that is militant, religious, and welcoming to players & companies of a similar vein. We will be a diverse community, opening our gates to all kinds that have not strayed from the law or embraced evil.

Playing it Lawful Good will be one of the hardest roles to play, yet one of the most powerful. Always abiding the law and avoiding evil acts will be a burden to some players, but there are rewards to reap for being quintessentially good and wholesome. We will revel in PvE content while vigilant against all evil-doers.

We will build a strong a economy. One steeped in metal & stone, to befit a proper army. We will strive to be as vigilant as the Knights of Ozem were, in protecting their former leader, Iomedae. She is the goddess of righteous valor, justice, and honor in Golarion and a source of inspiration for our settlement. Religious-themed players, such as Paladins, Clerics, etc. will harmonize well with Ozem’s Vigil.

righteous valor, justice, and honor; the hardest road

Thanks for the kudos! We realized that being company-focused was the completely wrong approach. It's about sharing our idea and working that out, there are SO MANY unknowns about once we are in-game, that having a pre-packaged idea could be too rigid that it'll break on entry into the actual game.

So having a settlement forum and 'crowdforging' the high concept we have seems the best way to go, then everyone has some ownership.

Which by the way, Fidelis & FMS are so synergistic it's crazy. So excited to see how this plays out!

I have some questions:

  • Is there a written Accord and is it public?
  • Sovereignty was mentioned, do you see the Accord as more of a United Nations (very little authority, more of a inter-group conscious) or a European Union (collective voice/power).
  • Do we get to call your members 'Rosies' :)

Thanks guys!

MAJOR UPDATE!

We have diplomat and settler forums now! Click 'Apply to Settle' and choose Diplomat, Settler, and/or Member.

Join as a settler if you are interested in settling with us as a free agent or company. We really want to collaborate on the settlement in a big way. This looks like the easiest way to do that, so I am quite excited to see this happen.

I'm still totally available via PM here for diplomatic things and our mumble info is available once you register.

I agree with Lhan, the game politics will explode many different directions once we are actually in the mix of it. Right now it is all a shared dream.

I just wanted to chime in and say I think you guys will add a great dynamic to the landscape and looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
