Leaning toward Druid
Backstory:
Fedrid grew up just outside the small, simple village of Briarberry. at the edge of a forest. Briarberry is mostly known for logging and their famous Briarberry wine. Fedrid is the 4th, or is it the 5th, child of a large family. His family ran a pumpkin farm just on the outskirts of the village. Being a middle child of a large family, he was always vying for attention and used his charming manner to entertain his family members. At the age of fifteen, a Hill Giant attacked the farmstead and Fedrid was captured. Taken back to the hill giant's cave, he was placed in a cage with an older man, a shaman shunned from his village for bringing famine to his village. The man talked to Fedrid about the coming of an ancient evil. No one can be trusted, especially those closest to you. Listening to the shaman made Fedrid question his sheltered life and longed to see more of the world. The shaman told Fedrid he'd help him escape and to seek out an elderly wizard by the name of Draknor. One night, the shaman was able to convince the hill giant into opening the cage door, and Albion stealthily escaped. Fedrid sought out Draknor. Draknor took in Fedrid only for his amusement. Fedrid didn't have the talent for magic that the other students did and no matter how hard he tried, Fedrid could never get the attention or knowledge from Draknor that Fedrid desired. Fedrid finally left Draknar and found himself at the doorstep of another shaman, a kindly elderly woman who taught him the ways of the forest. This is where Fedrid found his true calling and was able to find his talent of using the forest and wilderness to survive. Fedrid decided to set out on his own. He bid the elderly witch goodbye and headed out. After some travel he found his way at the doorstep of Stagfall. Seeking a sense of purpose, Fedrid makes his way into the captial . . . So far we have Cwethan, chillblame, and Trailjava signed up. There is room for 3 more. The link to the pregens has been misplaced apparently. I will post the link when Paizo finds it (probably tomorrow). They have listed the 5th Level pregens (there's only 6 at 5th Level right now) and they are: Amiri (Barbarian), Ezren (Wizard), Fumbus (Alchemist), Kyra (Cleric), Merisiel (Rogue), and Valeros (Fighter).
chillblame wrote: It sounds interesting. I'm in if it's ok. I see we are using pregens, how are you going to distribute them? Can we offer a preference? It doesn't matter if you don't want that, I'm easy, just curious. The pregens will come available when the scenario drops as a free download. I'm going to assume that everyone can be mature and discuss among yourselves who wants to play what pregen. I will post the link here when I see it come available.
Over recent decades, numerous incidents at the Pathfinder Society's Grand lodge in Absalom have damaged the priceless collections, destroying many documents outright. The Society has sent the PCs to Nexus House in the arcane metropolis of Quantium, hoping that the second oldest Pathfinder lodge might contain duplicates of the lost texts to copy and study. Yet the PCs are not the only ones interested in the secrets preserved in Nexus House, and the PCs find themselves on the trail of unlikely criminals. This adventure uses 5th Level Pregens! This scenario will start on Monday, August 26, 2019

Although Zhenka prefers to commune with Desna at night under the stars, his relationship with Father Zantus is friendly. Zhenka would occasionally visit the cathedral and help Father Zantus with the construction and even make supply runs for him (though Father Zantus learned quickly that even though he'd get the supplies he ordered from Zhenka, when he got them was at the whim of Desna). Upon arriving back into Sandpoint Father Zantus and the new cathedral would be one of Zhenka's first stops to check on him and apologize for being "late" to the festival.
Perfect, thanks for the feedback. The Lore skill is always up to interpretation. Lore (Varisian History) probably fits my backstory best. Short-term Zhenka has been in Sandpoint for only a couple days. Though he said he'd be back in time for the festival and he intended to be back in time, he always seems to lose track of time and, once again, shows up late. He's probably catching up with the town folk on the recent events and helping where help is needed. Long-term he's been in Sandpoint for about 3 or 4 years.
Here's Zhenka Valeria. The absent-minded Human Cleric of Desna who remembered the Swallowtail Festival a bit late and just arrived back in Sandpoint. Stat Block:

Zhenka grew up in Varisia as part of a caravan traveling all over the country from Korvosa to Magnimar to Riddleport. His father was a driver and his mother was the cook. Ever since he could remember he was on the road visiting new places, seeing wondrous sights, and meeting interesting people. While on the road, when he wasn’t riding next to his father, he spent a lot of time in his grandmother’s wagon. His grandmother was the caravan healer and fortune teller. She watched over the caravan with Desna’s blessing. Zhenka would learn from her the secrets of Desna and the history of Varisia. It was these stories of the ancient ones that fascinated him the most. He would look upon the ruins in Magnimar or Riddleport and picture the ruins filled with those time has forgotten.
Life on the road was wonderful, but if his grandmother’s stories told him anything is that everything changes over time. When he was seventeen he was sitting around the campfire on the road just south of Galduria listening to everyone tell stories, his mother came up to him and said his grandmother wanted to speak to him. He went to her wagon and she was lying in bed. He’d never seen her so pale and fragile. She told him that he couldn’t stay with the caravan forever. It was time for him to find his own way. She handed him her silver butterfly pendant, the symbol of Desna, and told him that she and Desna will always be there to guide him. Minutes later, she fell asleep and passed on to meet Desna. The next morning the caravan made its way toward Magnimar, it was the quietest the caravan has ever been since Zhenka could remember. He decided he would leave the caravan at the next town, Sandpoint. Zhenka told his parents he needed to find his own way as grandmother had said. His mother opened her mouth to protest, but his father put his hand on Zhenka’s shoulder and smiled, saying he understood. Zhenka said goodbye to his parents and told them he’d keep an eye out for them and would visit them when he saw the caravan. He then grabbed his bag and walked into the town. Sandpoint was a lively little town and would make a fine place to start his new life. Over the next few years Zhenka traveled about and Sandpoint was his base of operations. His travels took him mostly to the old ruins from his grandmother’s stories. Along the way he met interesting people and loved exchanging stories with them. Though he always made his way back to Sandpoint to tell the folks there of his adventures. The little town and its wonderful people have grown on him, and it was something he never had before, a place to call home.
Appearance:
Zhenka is a Varisian male with tanned skin. His eyes are deep blue, but on certain days can almost be violet in color. He is of average height and thin. He aquired a magic item that changes his clothes on a whim and he does so often (usually to match the story that he’s telling). When on the road, he has a walking stick with an interesting design on the head of it, though when asked what the design is, he has a different answer each time.
Personality:
Zhenka is very friendly with everyone he meets, but often has his head in the clouds. When not directly engaged in conversation with someone else, his mind is elsewhere dreaming of far off lands (past and present) and thinking himself on some other adventure. He loves to tell stories of things he’s seen or others have seen; often embellishing and taking credit for the adventure himself (stories are much more entertaining in the first person). Even when under duress he seems to have a wry smile on his face at all times.

I read through it briefly, but as the GM is aware of, I am heading out of town tomorrow and will have limited to no internet access. I will try to keep reading the forum to see what classes folks are coming up with and create something accordingly and try to interject if and when I can. I'll have my laptop with me, so I should be able to create something in my downtime. Thanks for the invite. Sounds like fun.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the invite. I'm leaning toward playing a skald. He'll be a jack of all trades, with focuses on diplomacy, knowledge, melee, spot healing, etc. My shared rage powers will most likely be focused on party survivability, such as Guarded Life, Energy Resistance, and clear Mind. I'm looking forward to watching the party take shape. @GM DS: What is your target start date?
How much experience do you have with Pathfinder rules?
How much experience do you have with Roleplaying in general?
Are you familiar with PbP formatting and how to?
Have you ever played Reign of Winter before, even just a little (please be truthful)
How many PbP games are you currently active in?
Will you be able to check the game at least daily or every other day to post? If not explain and we can work with you.
What type of characters do you like to play? Personality, Class, Themes!
Any additional information you would like to share.
Here's my submission: A human Paladin of Abadar. Character Concept:
1. Augusta Omarian, Human Paladin of Abadar 2. Augusta was born and raised in Oppara 3. Augusta makes a living escorting high end goods for merchants and nobles and overseeing the fair exchange of commerce. 4.In battle: Frontline fighter. Out of battle: Diplomat and party’s moral compass (Paladin of Abadar Code of Conduct). 5. Long term will depend on the party. Initial vision is a frontline fighter, keeping with Paladin as he levels 6. Abridged background: Campaign Trait: Child of Oppara Augusta grew up in a minor noble family who owned a very lucrative Taldan antique brokerage. Augusta was 9 years old when his family’s business was nearly robbed. A thief came into their warehouse while Augusta and his parents were there, pulled a sword, and demanded they empty their coffers to him. A paladin of Abadar by the name of Photius happened to be around and confronted the thief. The thief turned his weapon him and yet, even unarmed, Photius still didn’t back down and stopped the robbery, but not before getting stabbed himself (don’t worry, the wound wasn’t fatal). Augusta, witnessed the entire confrontation and was dumbfounded by the man’s willingness to put himself in harm’s way for a complete stranger. When he approached Photius and asked him why, Photius smiled and explained that bandits are a plague and he has sworn to make sure they come to justice. This encounter inspired Augusta. It was all he could think about. He felt the tug of Abadar and went to the Temple of Abadar to find Photius and learn all he could about this calling. For the next 10 years he trained under Photius and the Temple of Abadar, until Abadar himself filled him with his holy aura to make him a champion of civilization and prosperity.
I can post at least once a day during the week (sometimes more when needed). Weekends are sometimes a little more sparse. Currently I'm not playing in any PbP games, but I'm running 2 concurrent Emerald Spire campaigns.
This was my first PaizoCon as well, and it was amazing! My highlights were: A big thank you to everyone involved. I had a lot of fun, and I can't wait to tell the Boise folks about the event and drag as many of them along next year as possible. Can't wait for PaizoCon 2019.

On an isolated demiplane, the Pathfinders explore an Osirian ruin transported from Golarion by a powerful sorcerer centuries ago. And though the Pathfinder Society believes the fruits of their delve to be ripe for the picking, the unnatural landscape surrounding the tomb and a run-in with an unexpected guest make getting out with the treasure a tough task for the PCs. It's Gameday time again! This will start August 27th. We'll roll right into part II after we finish part I. Please Include the following:

I'll update a bit later today as the house is slowly coming back to life. Let me know when all 3 of you have ready characters for PFS and I'll open the recruitment thread to fill the table. It should be pretty easy to fill. The scenarios are usually made for 6 players. Also, if you're interested, the Paizo special they are running through Humble Bundle is a great deal if you need or want PDF versions of the books. I spent $18 and got about $300 worth of books on PDF. |
