Ederet moves to examine the the statue and its altar to see if he can identify it.

Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

He is fairly confident he knows all about the statue, though his particulars may be a bit off.

Ederet soon follows the gnome inside and goes to examine the drawing of the hand. His first instinct is to not trust the drawing, and he turns to face the west doorway.

Bringing the sacks to the others at the pool, Ed asks: "Do any of you recognize this symbol? I don't recognize it as religious."

I count 6. We should be fine.

I'm still here. Already searched buildings and am at the pool with the others, so nothing to add until we decide to head in to the main building.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Ed gathers the sacks and returns to the rest of the team at the pool.

Knowledge:Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 to identify symbol.

Assuming they are likely to be living quarters or storage sheds, Ed begins searching nearest shed on the east side.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Ederet uses his knowledge of the faiths to determine which building the priests might use for personal writings and rest and heads that way, making sure not to leave the party too far behind.

Knowledge(Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

He hopes there will be some books of learning or a journal he can find that might explain what went on here, or at least the events leading up to the current situation.

Along the way, he keeps an eye out for any enemies as well as any objects unfamiliar to him that might be worth examining.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Ed remains silent for a while, following the gnome's decision to help the elves here. At Broldun's pronouncement, he nods in agreement.

"I'd like to take the second position, so that I may support the attack should the need arise"

Ederet searches the elven girl's body for any other clues or anything of value, knowing that she will have not have need of such things where she is going.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

"Yes, that would be the heroic thing to do. More importantly, it will give us a chance to both restock and start to build trust within the elven towns of this area. It may delay our current mission, though, possibly by a week or more."

He turns to Gellumniq and asks:

"Which path do you think we should take?"

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

For those that join him, Ed orders a round of good berry-flavored mead and waits until the drinks are brought, tipping the waitress appropriately and waiting for her to be away from earshot before starting in on his concerns, keeping his voice quiet so as not to be overheard from farther away in the loud tavern.

Let me know how much money I should spend on getting the dwarf and others buzzed to their satisfaction.

"So, what do you all think of our employer? He claims to be working for the Duke, but also offers us no means to confirm this. He is probably the one that poisoned the drunk bull-man, as well. I also can't help but notice that in a town where carrying weapons or casting magic is a crime, most of those struggling to fight that unarmed man were armed with one or the other.

It just seems all too convenient to me for things to play out that way."

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Before retiring, Ederet offers what little advice he can for the other travelers:

"I would suggest if we will be traveling far that everyone at least bring some rations, a waterskin, a bedroll, and a whistle. We do not know how long we will have to survive outside of any towns, or what dangers we may face."

He's not quite ready to sleep yet, though, other things still on his mind.

"I never did get a chance to have a drink. Would anyone care to join me? I'm buying."

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

It's one of my favorites as well, though I haven't played it in a while. All of the characters were so interesting and grew with time. It's probably one of the reasons I got into fantasy rpgs.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

The 'simple delivery' reminds me of Final Fantasy 2/4. As long as it's not the summoner's village, we should be good.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

And Ederet sees nothing as well.

Though it would have been nice to have his suspicions confirmed so early on. Well, good luck to the Tigers!

Ederet joins the others in the next room, ready to learn more.

An odd choice for a leader. Perhaps he knows something we don't?

"Glad to be a part of the team. I'm Ed, a traveler from the north."

"I believe we'd learn the most about both the Feather and the current situation if we were to deliver his package to the Elves. Having other Elves among us will help with any difficulties we may come across with them."

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Hi.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Pretty sure that he is now joining the wrong side, Ederet agrees to join the party as well.

"This does indeed sound like a valuable experience. Perhaps my training will pay off."

It's surprising how easy this mission is going for me. Still, I'm absolutely sure this will end with my assassination if I stay too long. That's assuming he even really does work for the Duke at all.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

@Cu Thanks. Yeah, I missed that part at first. Fixed the the word murderer to poisoner. Same intent, but better fits the situation.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Ederet drops his mug, letting the poisoned brew spill out onto the floor.

What nasty wench serves poisoned brew to a guy issuing a simple challenge? Smart little halfling. She almost killed me, though.

He receives a letter from an apparent madman. The instructions, from 'The Feather', if he assumes all say the same, tell them to all gather in a room with him, an obvious poisoner who doesn't care who notices, so they can...what, exactly?

He's appears however at least curious enough to go, and makes his way to the room with the others.

"The only ones that have been hit are those that have come with violent intent or magic."

Ederet's voice is deep and low, but doesn't seem to carry very far with all the other noise. He sighs, about ready for that drink.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Wow, he really is sneaky. We might be seeing our first lethal damage soon.

Ederet smiles at the idea of the guy before him enforcing the town's law. He tips the server a silver and grabs one of the mugs as well, not yet having had a chance to try the ale.

"I'll owe you a drink then."

He's not entirely sure what to think of the situation and assumes it's just some argument over a minor regional power struggle.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

The monster? So says a wild demi-human. ;P

To Ed he just appears to be a drunkard that challenged another drunkard to a bar fight and won. He's probably a little surprised the other patrons didn't go back to drinking.

Then again, he is a foreigner and doesn't really understand the sides here.

Male Human Monk 1 HP 9/9 | Init + 6 | AC 15, FF 11, T 15 | CMD 14 | Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +5 | Perc +6, SM +6| Deflect Arrows 1/rd, Stunning Fist 2/day

Am I the only one that finds it odd that, being a neutral follower of a decidedly chaotic evil deity, Ed is one of the few not wanting to engage in meaningless slaughter?

I mean, the bull just punched and kicked a guy who stood up to challenge him as his enemy. I don't exactly see the villainy here.

Ederet bypasses the checkpoint for the most part, not carrying any weapons thought to be deadly nor any armor. Shortly after arriving at the Lakeview Inn, just as he is about to sit down, a loud, angry beast starts to make some noise.

Ederet, a short and seemingly aged man, calmly approaches the table the loud cow is standing on and waves his hand downward, signaling him to come down while supporting much of his weight on his staff.

In a soft voice he mutters to the bull: "I don't know much of Karameikos or the Black Baron, but I'm interested in hearing more. Come, let me buy you a drink. If you're just looking to start a brawl instead, that's cool, too, but it doesn't look like you'd have many looking to join in."

He shrugs when he hears the woman trying to rile up the patrons further. "Unless you count the crazies."

Here is the Ethengarian Monk, on a journey to explore Karameikos and learn more of the kingdoms built within.

Good luck to everyone who made it!

Okay.

Can I do the +2/+2/-2 and skilled or feat human option from your serious campaign's rules so I can take that 11 down to a 9?

Also:

About Nous:
"So, if I adjust the spring just right, I..." Nous looks stunned for a moment and sharply intakes a breath of air as she remembers that you are standing there. Her eyes glisten and focus on what you are carrying as she asks "Is that a new toy you've brought me?"

Nous is the absent-minded mad machinist, hoping to someday build the world's best weapon, but most often blowing things up. She comes from a town renowned for its eccentric geniuses and doesn't find things like raising the dead, building monstrous golems, or exploding lighting rods all that strange.

As such, her focus tends to be on taking apart and building new weapons, traps, and eventually siege weapons. "Ah, if only I could backstab with a ballista. Or maybe a rocket springal" XD

Sorry I'm late to the party. I had trouble deciding which of your games to go for.
