Please don't be 90% human statblocks. I'm fine with statblocks that don't account for ancestry.

Sounds like it will be blank/human on ancestry with templates to change to other ancestries along with ancestry specific entries.

Will all the gods that have been mentioned in AP material like Rowdrosh be included? Other demon lords that are Paizo's that came out in the Book of the Damned? What about pantheons like in Last Wall book?

Not only Pantheons but also Covenants which are a way to access divine power without worshipping a god, by the sounds of it.

Huh.

I admit... this one doesn't feel like it had the same impact as the last. Like... Erastil wasn't really on anyone's list

Thus far we've had...

N, LE, CG, NE, NG

My guess is that from here it's going to go CE, LG, CN, LN and then... probably back to N for the last? That's my guess, anyway.

At the halfway point we're up to one per row. it wouldn't surprise me if we hit two per row by the end.

What are these random pairs of letters?

Is the PDF version of the book futureproof against errata? I am seriously debating getting the book in both hardcover for quick, easy reference at my table and the PDF for updates that come.

When they release a new physical version, the pdf will be updated to match. You will not have to purchase another copy to have access to the updated pdf.

Until they release a new physical edition, errata will continue to be separate from the pdf.

Archives of Nethys *does* update with errata sooner though, so it undoubtedly the best reference. Hence it being the system reference document ;)

Counterspelling is kind of a pain in the butt anyway.

You, as far as I can tell, have to guess what the spell you're countering is and pray. Since Recognize a Spell is a reaction, Quick Recognition makes that a free action, but Counterspell is also a reaction. You can only use action action per trigger, so you can't do multiple of them at once.

since you need a spell equipped to counter it, it should be covered by the below rule and have no need for Recognise Spell.

"If you notice a spell being cast, and you have prepared that spell or have it in your repertoire, you automatically know what the spell is, including the level to which it is heightened."

It is easier to get retailers to buy books that are not 700 pages and it is less a splitting core in two than a reshuffling of the Core Book, APG and GMs Guide.

Thinking about what they could give the Warrior Bard instead of Martial Weapons now all bards are getting martial weapons... Medium Armor? Do they view that as sort of 'equivalent'. It would definitely open some builds.

This means Senti can get you heavy too if you wanna be a chonk bard standing behind your buddies with a long spear

Not seeing what's so great about them. You can't put runes on scroll robes since, like the gi, they are not considered armor. What's more, there's no explicitly defined exception like there is for the explorer's outfit.

Yes there is - it says under Armor Descriptions

"Each new armor is described in this section. Clothing isn’t armor, but if it has a Dex cap it can accept fundamental and property runes. The most common apparel of this sort is explorer’s clothing (Core Rulebook 275), but this book adds new options."

(Hope it is okay to add that as it will be on Nethys shortly anyway)

That's fun; you take a Composite Longbow and trade out losing Deadly d10 for not having to deal with Volley at all. I don't know if it's a great trade (is Volley a big deal? I don't feel like I've ever heard about it), but at least the Daikyu has an identity now.

It is +2 damage bonus if you have Point Blank Shot, which could be nice.

Well, good news.

I learned today that only the pocket edition is delayed. My coworkers decided they could pull off a miracle. The Hardcover and Special Edition Hardcover versions of the book should still be shipping out with October subscriptions. We'll be sending an email out to subscribers of these lines with more details.

Sorry to be strong and wrong. I was promoting the best information I had at the time.

Runelord Archetype:

- Tattoo Artist as an archetype feat seems ... redundant? It's exactly the same as the regular skill feat, so you could just get that one instead. The only advantage from getting the archetype-version is the ability to pay off the Dedication a bit faster.

That seems fairly advantageous to me, same feat, same cost, helps you get to multiple archetypes quicker...

Summon Deific Herald

The Liberator effect ( Chaotic Good ) gives the ally freedom of movement for 3 rounds. Since it doesn't state the level of the spell, and given the fact that all other alignment give a level from 5 to 6, would be right to assume that, because of the limited use of freedom of movement ( compared to the other effects ), that we are goingto use the spell level to counteract/break free from movement imparing effects?.

I believe that the general rule is, if no level is listed use the base level of the spell...

All I have to say is that I'm a little disappointed (though not at all surprised) that the sprite has a STR flaw. I really wanted to play a Barbarian or Fighter Sprite. Given how the game balances around having an 18 in your prime stat, that would be be a big detriment.

That said, I'm still looking forward to this book immensely.

You'll be just fine starting with a 16 in your main stat. It's not ideal but it in no way plays out like a dealbreaker.
Indeed. If Alice starts at 18 and Ben starts at 16 and both increase at every opportunity, Ben's modifier will be the same as Alice's at levels 5-9 and 15-19. He would only be behind Alice by 1 at levels 1-4, 10-14, and 20. Being behind by 1 at half your levels isn't a huge disadvantage.

Yes, a lot of people seem to complain about the maths being so tight that a 16 is a horrible unfixable flaw, but my players have seemed to do fine with it.
