Dob smiles helpfully. Now this was something he'd never seen before. "I, too, hate it when things look the wrong way. Why, look how colorful and bright my skin is! It should be a dull grey, my hair ash! My friends have the right of it, pluck the strange stone thorn from your eye and hand it over, would make a fine thing to see the world rightly again."

My wife is experiencing some serious health issues. If my posting gets spotty, that would be the reason. Hopefully she'll make a good recovery soon and it'll be no worries, but definitely worth a head's up.

Dob just watches, jealous of the young humans' sense of wonder.
The news of dark spirit forces animating cobbled bodies was something new, though, and new things were why the gnome joined the society.
"Have any of these bodies been destroyed and studied? Are they actually a combination of animal and plant matter, or merely appearing so?" he asks the centaur.
Dob listens with a bemused look on his face, letting them with friendlier demeaners do the talking. Undead and hostile nature spirits. What is this? Dob's greatest hits? He was glad to have some others around that liked to talk to the strange little humans.
A pale gnome with dark hair and darker eyes appears next, a flickmace at his side and a longbow strapped to his back, and an odd straw-stuffed doll head with a needle-like beak tied opposite his flickmace on the belt.
"Ah, I see I've arrived in the middle of your conversation. Dob Frilko, at your service. Just as long as there aren't any hoards of undead, 'squitos, or 'seekers, I'm game for whatever fancy poetic adventures loom on the horizon."

Apologies, my spell DC is 17, don't know if I read it wrong or typo'd it.
Dob lets electricity fly between the two visible creatures and then steps forward into threatening range.

Dob takes the lead position, unless someone objects.
Don't will descend, keeping alert and ready to warn others of danger (scouting exp. Activity)
Dob puts away his bow, drawing his flickmace. "Let's do." he smiles grimly.
Dob's fingers play along side his bowstring, twitching nervously as he eyes the horizon for signs of danger.
"Best hurry along and find his master now, yes?" Dob concurs with the thought.
Can we make sure neither dog is taking bleed damage before moving?

Dob takes a torch from his backpack and lights it with Flint and steel. Once it is burning well, he snubs it out, making a smokey stick. He uses this to smoke away the mosquitos. He will help and or carry the calf on his own to the Bells'.
"If we can save the calf, we should. If no one has claim to it, perhaps the Bells could use it on their farm- an animal like this could help turn their fortunes around." Dob suggests.
"And so, where does your research point to, dear woman?" Dob asks, daring to let a hint of hope into his voice.
"That seems like a conclusion brought about by reason. Seems like this town has no place for that kind of thinking." Dob says, tone denoting irony or sarcasm.
"Hi!" Dob smiles at the children. "I'm sure you've heard something similar already, but we're here to see if we can help with all these bugs and worse. We wanted to listen to your experience of them and see if there's anything that will help us end all these troubles."
Dob nods, seeming to struggle to pay attention as yet another villager describes how they shut themselves off from the world and gave into despair. He mutters something about getting paid.
"Or maybe hers, still?"

Dob likewise toddles along.
Dob suggests slicing off a sliver of the stone and using that, as well as testing the theory with the remainder, moving it further and further away in different directions until we're sure of the distance this size rock affects the sliver.
Ok, back to town, then, I guess. :)
"Maybe we should ask around at some of the outlying farms as long as we are out of town. Seems with livestock being attacked, they might have a keener interest in seeing this problem solved." Dob suggests, his voice flat and somewhat disinterested-sounding.
Dob pulls out his longbow and knocks an arrow. He moves to the highest point on the hill he can find, slings the bow, and climbs the highest tree he can find there, looking around to see the area and see if anything leaps out. He finds a sturdy branch to get a good 360 view.
