If you would have told me earlier tonight that I would be typing this post up I wouldn't have believed it, but desperate times call for desperate measures, so here I am reaching out to any and all who may read this and asking you to please help someone very much in need of all the compassion you may have.
I don't know what to say other than please believe me that this is not a scam or a hoax. I am not even asking that you donate a single dime if you have the slightest hesitation at all that her story is not genuine. All that I ask is that you give her story a read and a share so that it will keep moving forward.
If you know any groups who do divorce assistance please PM or post them here so I can share with this person. All I want to do is help a good person out of a very bad situation.
Even though this is the Off Topics thread, I understand if this post is too far astray from the intent of the board. My apologies if this is the case, but again, I don't know what else to do except try and help anyway I can.
Thank you all for your time and consideration in advance.
My apologies for the sudden disappearance, but I was notified at the beginning of the month that my unit was being activated. This caught us all off guard as we were not in the cycle for activation, but such is life. Due to this fact, I will not have steady access to the boards and have to halt the game.
Again my many apologies, but sometimes RL does not give me the flexibility that I wish it did.
I will start compiling the char creation material and see if I can retool this thread into a full recruitment thread, or if I need to create a new thread.
I will use the same creation guidelines as I did with the table group. You can either do a flat 20pt buy, or roll 4d6 dropping the lowest dice with the ability to reroll a one if there is more than one as the lowest dice.
In full disclosure, I am by far more interested in the storytelling vs the dice and will encourage the players to think of out of the box ways to deal with something that you may face. The maps on roll20 will be fully fleshed out with background items listed in the description and the environment will be in play both to aide and hinder you. Hopefully this will be something everyone will enjoy incorporating as well.
Now enough of my rambling and I am off to get everything ready to post up.

It sounds much better than my job. I am a policy compliance guy, so basically picture the Bobs from Office Space and you have my lot in life. There is nothing quite as soul crushing as realizing that your job while necessary, is basically a variation of the Spanish Inquisition and a root canal all at once. :)

@GMoL: Once more hope you don't mind the liberties taken with non-canon dwarf customs from Pathfinder but merged together from a mixture of Forgotten Realms and Klingon ways. :)

Hearing Herral chant something quickly, Tarkus was unsure of what the other had in mind, a drawback of allowing fate to control this outing instead of working through a well organized series of plans, contingencies and fallback procedures, but he had to trust the halfling was there to back him up in this.
Watching the way the Shunned kept the curved elvish blade moving through the air reminded Tarkus of a stonesnake waiting to strike.
~I have to keep him unbalanced and out of rhythm.~
Shifting his grip slightly, allowing the axe to have a lower center of balance in his hand, Tarkus moved in and tried to hammer the Shunned in the side again and further weaken the shoddy armor the dwarf wore.
Male Dwarf Dwarven Rogue 1: | HP 10/10 | AC 17, T 13, FF14 | Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +3 | Init+3, Perception +7
Feeling the blood pounding in his veins, Tarkus drew his axe and gripped it so tightly that his knuckles were white from the pressure he was putting on the blade. Everything in his body told him to strike first, sink his axe deep into the skull of the Shunned and allow the spark of life that Torag put in them all to be extinguished. Tarkus knew though it was not the right way to handle this, but he would be prepared to draw blood if the Shunned could not be reasoned with.
When he spoke again, Tarkus' voice had lost the heat of rage, but carried the icy steel of promised violence.
"Last chance for you to stay alive. If you try to stop us from leaving, I will erase your blight from these woods and use your blade as your grave marker."
Male Dwarf Dwarven Rogue 1: | HP 10/10 | AC 17, T 13, FF14 | Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +3 | Init+3, Perception +7
At the sound of the Shunned's taunt from below, Tarkus tucked the unopened scroll case into his belt, but as he made this move, the slender branch his left foot was bracing on snapped loudly in the suddenly tense clearing.
Long way down:1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Thirty pounds of steel and over one hundred and fifty pounds of dwarf instantly began sliding down the tree, the bark biting into every exposed surface of Tarkus' skin until he reached out trying to grab a thicker branch to slow his fall
Gravity sucks:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
only to feel it snap as well under his adrenaline boosted strength, as well as his flailing in general.
Twisting as he fell, hoping to at least land near his shield, Tarkus found himself tasting fresh soil for the second time within a twenty minute span as he crashed into the ground with the force of, well a steel encased dwarf falling out of a tree.
What did I land on?:1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3 I think I broke my spleen:1d6 ⇒ 3
Bruised, scratched, and covered in soil, Tarkus felt his anger rush to the surface and he snarled as he stood up and looked at the Shunned.
"Try anything and by Torag's name I will break that silly sword of yours and shove it up your a$$."
Go ahead punk, make my day (Intimidate):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Male Dwarf Dwarven Rogue 1: | HP 10/10 | AC 17, T 13, FF14 | Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +3 | Init+3, Perception +7
@Herral: I hope you don't mind me taking a few liberties with your action at the tree. Feel free to do the same if you need to color text Tarkus for anything. :)

While Herral kept them moving following the Shunned's path, Tarkus kept trying to avoid the ever increasing knots of roots and low limbs of the forest.
~This is why I prefer the mountains any day. No blasted~
His thought was cut short as his heavy boot caught in a partially buried root and he slammed down to the soft earth of the forest floor.
"Thrice damned to every root in this forest!
Picking himself up, Tarkus looked at Herral, who seemed to be looking anywhere but at the fuming dwarf. Hearing a soft thumping noise, Tarkus turned his eyes upwards and saw another scroll dangling from the tree.
"Doesn't anyone just use a book anymore? Or have the birds all learned to stagger messages to each other?"
Dropping his pack and shield, Tarkus looked over to the merchant turned adventurer.
"How hard can this climbing be really? Grab the tree and move up."
Clapping his palms together, Tarkus took a few backward steps to gain momentum...
Climb:1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
and rebounded off the tree like a stray rock from a tree. He could feel blood in his mouth where he involuntarily bit his lip during the recoil and he slapped the ground in anger.
"By the Forge Father's blazing balls!"
Getting to his feet and spitting out a bloody mixture of fluids, Tarkus glanced once more to the halfling, who again was wisely looking elsewhere, and back to the scroll dangling above.
"This had better be something good."
Taking a few steps back again, Tarkus ran towards the tree and leaped up, this time his hands grabbing purchase on the hell spawned conifer.
Male Dwarf Dwarven Rogue 1: | HP 10/10 | AC 17, T 13, FF14 | Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +3 | Init+3, Perception +7
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6Yep, blind as a bat with all this green stuff around. :)
Trying to keep up with the others, a feat not made easier with the rain turning the ground to mud, Tarkus knew they were trading speed for silence, but he was ok with that. It was not often that magical blades were offered as incentives and again Tarkus found himself not approving with the Sheriff's methods totally, but he also could not deny their effectiveness either.
As they paused to catch their bearings for a moment, Tarkus called up to Soroza.

I may be a little slow posting today/tomorrow as I am fighting a nasty headcold, but while I have a moment of drug induced lucidness, heading over to post now. Great building from everyone so far and with this group, I doubt it will drop off anytime soon. :)

There was an old 2ED book called Dwarves of the Deep, or something along those lines, and it was obviously all about the dwarves. One of the things the book discussed was how dwarves addressed, or lack thereof, those that had been banished, as well as the family left behind. The biggest thing was that the family was stripped of its name until either the offending dwarf atoned for their actions, or another member of that family did something truly heroic to return the family's honor.
Hence me calling Derrek, the Shunned. I forgot to add my trash talk aspect in on this round, but I promise to add it in the next.
Hope you don't mine my working in some 2ED mindset in a 3.75 world. :)

Watching the others load back on the wagon, or take their places walking next to it, Tarkus reflected that none felt good about killing the animals, himself included, but all save the older man felt that the ends justified the means. He meant what he said about honoring Adrac's wishes, but he also meant what he said that they may be allowing an unwitting predator to remain. While his coin purse was limited, Tarkus was confident that he could hire a worker at the inn to keep an eye out for the dog over the next few days and should the dog continue to be feral and hostile, to do what needed.
~As Torag gave us the gift of compassion, so too did he give us the strength of the stone in our resolve to see things through to the end.~
Feeling that the mood was a bit too somber heading to the inn though, Tarkus glanced over at Herral and raised the empty bottle of Grammie Whipple's cure for all that ails ya.
"I'm sure you meant to not almost kill me when you told me to take this for a headache, but I've taken softer blows to the head in full armed combat drills. What was in this stuff?"
I'm pretty sure you already knew you were the merchant who almost killed me, but I wanted to make it official. :)

...holy crap, did I accidentally Uncle Iroh?
Uncle Iroh was the best, even after Mako passed I loved all the small arcs that he was involved in. Now if you learn to fire bend along the way, things will definitely get interesting...

@GMoL: Grehindal's NPC tab is made and first bit of history is posted. I opted to leave the dark crunchy bits for you, so I ended the tale after Delgus TwinForge, aka Delgus Giant Bane, ended his first life.
For my free profession, I would like to take Craft (Jewelry). Since Tarkus has been trained to craft larger coarse items like weapons, I like to think crafting smaller and more delicate items like jewelry would be a good complimentary skill to have.

Tarkus closed the distance between himself and the sole dog harassing Anthony and prepared to bring his axe down when a sudden bought of nausea came over him and he had to fight to keep his supper from last night down. His axe strike dug a deep furrow into the ground beside the dog and once more Tarkus cursed that thrice damned halfling and his magical elixers.

• I’d like you to add Grehindal as an NPC to the list on Obsidian Portal, along with any info you’d like to fill in yourself. If all you want to put is “he’s a storm giant lich with my family’s heirloom axe” then I’m happy to fill in the blanks on my own, but I wanted to give you the chance to embellish your own backstory to your satisfaction first.
• Fill out the excel inventory sheet
• What is Tarkus’ birthday? ;D
Tarkus Shieldsplitter:
So I got the chance to sit down and read your backstory and the stuff you have written up on Delgus the Giant Bane and it is fantastic!
For all the other PCs I gave them a brief run-through earlier on how I’m expecting to approach the overall structure of the campaign.
Tarkus’ big arc will obviously conclude with a show-down with Grehindal. I actually had some groundwork paved for an awesome giant lair for Tarkus so it was awesome we were working in the same direction, hah. I guess they are logical dwarf villains :P
Storm Giants are a fearsome CR 13 without class levels and minions, so making a lich means the dungeon will be by necessity towards the very end of the campaign. I don’t intend for it to be the finale, though, mostly to give Tarkus a chance to dig that axe into the skulls of some baddies! (If he succeeds, that is. Mwhaha.)
In the meantime I expect Tarkus to be interested in the goings on of the area, particularly the dwarven ruins in the area. Hope that sounds good to you! Thanks for giving me such great material to work with.
I tried to update last night, but I also failed my wiki-fu check and couldn't locate the excel sheet until I saw the post this AM telling me where it was. I will update the sheet, Grehindal and the birthday as soon as I get home.

Thanks and if you ever do a time travel campaign, now I want to play as Delgus in the days of Giant Wars and the Defenders of Highhelm. :)
If you feel a lich is too strong, he can be an intelligent ghoul or ghast that still has some of his abilities. All I was really going for was that his hatred for the dwarf that killed him was strong enough to keep him "alive" and waiting on his chance to get his revenge on the dwarves and the region.
Tarkus will very much be interested, as he takes the role of defend and protect very serious. I am not sure if you read the Discworld books, but I am modeling him some after Carrot Ironfounderson and a slightly less bitter Sam Vimes in his desire to help others, just without the paladin leanings. :)
Thank you for being so patient with me as I get all the kinks worked out!
Anyway I was hoping if any one could give me some feedback back on my character, this is the first goblin I have a decent ^_^ any input would be much appreciated

With the determination that Urzaag has displayed in learning his craft and taking to defending his kind from the long shanks, it would not be a stretch to see him as a LN/LE character instead of CN.
Having the 6 in Charisma is going to sting some with your UMD checks, but nothing that dumping a few points in won't cure down the line, if you opt to go that route. Also from a RP side, with a Cha that low you are pretty much guaranteed to be KoS by any humans, not that we won't all be that way to some extent.
All in all, I think he looks great and I am looking forward to getting this started when our DM finally makes that final DC check to overcome the plague.
Any comments/critiques on Nuz would be welcomed also. :)
~excert from Mission Briefing given to Tarkus Shieldsplitter by Low Chief Ironfounderson of Highhelm~:
"It is with great pride that we send you out into lands of man in service to the King. The races of man, elves, the union of man and elves are our allies, but we must treat them as we treat iron. We must put them in the fire and seek to heat out the impurities to ensure our trust in them. As Torag spoke when he breathed life into the first dwarf, ~All others shall fail you, for they do not have the strength of the stones as I have given to you~.
You will go to their towns and work as a craftsman of stone and steel. You will eat, drink and sleep among them, but always remember you are of this Clan. The halls of Highhelm are you home and your allegiance is first and foremost to it. Remember the lives of the others, save the elves and fey, are but brief candles and you must not allow their haste to influence your actions. Arm and defend them, but do not lose sight of your service to the Clan and Highhelm.
May Torag the Forger and All Father keep you safe."
Crunchy bits and a more fleshed out background to follow. This was best I could whip up to lock in my idea for the char before heading home.
I have been away from PBP gaming for quite a while due to job commitments, but if you might be willing to take a gamble, I would be interested in trying out for the cleric spot.
"Lucky" Cyrus, part priest/part conman, but 100% trying to convince Lady Luck not to withdraw her favor from him. I can start working on a crunchy build also.
