This is now the third month out of the last four or five where the monthly subscriptions have been split, without authorization, and extra shipping costs have been dropped on the customer. Paizo, fix your warehouse and/or shipping because something or someone is not working right. With extremely limited communication methods, we, your paying customers, have ZERO recourse other than to send emails, wait weeks/months, and hopefully have the shipping fees refunded. That is not a workable solution as the end result is you eat the shipping costs. If this is how this is going to be, I cannot continue to support Paizo.
Why is this order being split, forcing me to pay the shipping costs? This isn't an isolated incident either. Order 34943968 had this exact same issue and fortunately I did not dispute it before the order had shipped. My account is not set to ship items as they become available. I would appreciate NOT being forced to pay shipping item by item. It bothers me is that there seems to have been several issues with your warehouse recently. I have had multiple issues with orders where the shipping costs have been astronomical due to errors when entering the new product into the system and determining shipping. Order 7454270 took a three way call between your warehouse and UPS to understand that something was not right on your end and that yes, $50+ in shipping, for a single item, was incorrect. So here are my requests. I want Order 3626117 to be shipped and billed as a single item. If that cannot be done, I would like an explanation as to why not. I would like an explanation as to why Order 34943968 was split in a similar manner, forcing me to pay extra shipping costs. I would ask for a refund of the extra shipping but again, that's on me for not challenging it before the order shipped. I would like an explanation as to what will be done to keep this from becoming an every other month issue. Additionally, I have been attempting to redeem the code I received from Humble Bundle for a 2nd Edition Core Rulebook. The code has been claimed to my account but yet when I attempt to add the 2nd Edition Core Rulebook to my cart, I'm being billed for it. I know the 2nd Edition Core Rulebook is backordered but I would appreciate if it could redeem my code and then add the book to my side cart.

Understood and thanks for the reply. Stay safe and stay healthy!

I'm wondering that too. I won't expect it but it would be nice to get the PDFs as a subscriber even if I won't get the physical books for several months.

I had actually called them earlier in the week and left a message. After posting this, I did receive an email. It took a call to customer service and it was eventually worked out. There was an error in the coding for the book I had on order that caused the shipping to be calculated incorrectly. Paizo has updated my order with the correct costs and is working to fix the coding issue.
Looks like the only thing I'm getting this month is the Starfinder Adventure Path #25: The Chimera Mystery. For some reason you're showing shipping charges of more than $45.00. Something is NOT right there. This happened a while back and the eventual solution was that an error was made either in package dimension or something else when setting up the product in UPS's shipping. Please correct this because cannot and will not be paying $45 in shipping.

Will there be a digital version and if so, will it be included with physical preorders?

Will do. Hoping it's just a few versus a large part of the print run.

There's a copy with your name that you'll get in time. Apples and oranges. With Kickstarter, I know I'm investing in an unknown that may not happen, might happen but is late, or may go as planned. This is a known company that completely dropped the ball.

Wow, just wow. That is so grossly negligent that it's astounding. While I appreciate the $15 credit, I'm still not thrilled with how all of this has been handled from the start. Forcing Amazon even when ordering from Paizo.com, Amazon Prime not factored in shipping, no normal Paizo shipping discounts, and no tracking to even know where my package is. I truly hope Paizo has learned a lesson from this. Either no future deals like this with Amazon, or have very, very clear milestone goals for shipping and delivery in the contract with clear penalties/remedial actions on their part. Six whole orders over a four day window... What a complete and total joke.
Kadasbrass Loreweaver wrote: So how much time are the Free RPG Day mods expected to run? Its the first time my game store has participated but the owner wants all RPGs ran to last only 2 hours to maximize the number of people participating. But I argued that 3 hours would be better for the mods that come out that day. I would say Marco Massoudi's assessment of time is spot on. Another thing that can make these run a bit longer is that while they get Organized Play sanctioning, they still are formatted as a standard module. That means there isn't nearly as much box text or "If the PC's ask the following..." elements to help streamline a session. Since this is the first Starfinder Free RPG Day offering, that may have changed but historically, that's how they have been presented.

Alright. I think most can still work with that unless their character has trouble operating an airlock early on.

If the boon is not required to be on the 701 or as the first Chronicle, that goes a long way towards addressing some concerns I had seen/heard. Thanks for that bit of information.

The only time I recall seeing anything about earning additional Prestige Points was on the Chronicle Sheet for We Be Goblins Free! and even then it had a list of other conditions that needed to be fulfilled in order to qualify for the additional 1 Prestige Point.
This past Friday, October 9th, the Paizo website was down for a bit. Ever since then, I am having some issues with setting up an event, downloading session sheets, and with previously reported events. When setting up an event, the site no longer seems to be saving the number of Sessions that I enter. Using both the Update and Save Changes buttons result in the page refreshing but the data I enter is not retained. The number of Sessions resets to 0. For any newly created event, there is no link to download the session sheets. If I just take down the information and report the event (such as I did with event 68,121), once the first session is reported, then the link to download the session sheets will become available. On any previously reported event, going in to view sessions only lists the GM credits. No information about the players is listed. If I attempt to edit the information, the player data is recorded. Viewing the sessions of an individual character from a given event correctly shows the player data. Are these just issues on my end? Was a change made and these are now intentional behaviors?
Family and life come first for all of us. You've done an incredible amount of good for PFS and Pathfinder as whole during your tenure. It has brought both my personal home games and public games hours of enjoyment, great memories and new friends. I thank you for that and wish you all the best. Be well sir and thank you for all that you have done for this game and hobby.
I'm looking to order some of the Adventure Card Game products including the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Adventure Mat. It seems this item wants to ship separately and effectively double my shipping costs. Is there no way to include this in the shipment with the rest of my order? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the update, Sara. I got a shipping confirmation email last night as well. I can understand getting hit with a heavy shipping load. I was more worried that this was actually out of stock and hadn't be updated correctly since it was released a while back. I've had back luck with that lately on several other sites.
Back on October 15th, I place an order for Pathfinder Society Scenario Season 0, Season 1, Season 2, and the Rise of the Runelords Deluxe Collector's Edition. I received access to the Scenarios the day the order was placed. However the physical items have yet to be ship. I called customer service on October 22 to check on the status and was told that it would be shipped that week. As of today, the order status is still listed as 'Pending'. Could I please get an update on if/when this will be shipped? I've never had problems with orders shipping from Paizo before this.
Last week we ran our first session of Pathfinder Society and gave out a few pre-generated Society numbers. It seems that the web address listed on these cards is incorrect. On the card, it states that you can activate your membership by going to paizo.com/pathfindersociety. Doing this takes you to a page with another link saying "Join the Pathfinder Society and create your character now!". When clicked, this link directs you to paizo.com/paizo. I'm assuming this link should be directing you towards the page where you can either sign up or enter the code on the Society card. Is there a direct link I can give out to our players until this is fixed?

Well, the last time I was reading up on this, the "official word" was that Paizo would not be releasing it in PDF form due to WOTC not liscencing it. As for Sean's comments about them not selling it for cheaper, I fail to see what would keep them from doing that. All they need to do is simply release the eBook with a different ISDN and then set the price for them lower. It works the same as releasing it hardback and then paperback 6 to 8 months later.
Thoth-Amon the Mindflayerian wrote:
The only thing I see bad about this is that the prices are next the same as buying the physical book. When anyone can order the books for 25% off, WOTC is only going to hurt their chances of this taking off by charging full price. Right now, this looks like just a way to max out profit instead of a way to branch out into a newer market.
I got an e-mail from DriveThruRPG.com today that has this in it: DriveThruRPG announced today that Wizards of the Coast would be making a huge selection of its Dungeons & Dragons® roleplaying game titles available as eBooks on www.DriveThruRPG.com. By providing current 3.5 edition material in eBook format, Wizards is allowing Dungeons & Dragons fans to easily and legally get official D&D products in digital format. We are pleased to take this big step toward our goal of having all roleplaying game titles: past, present and future, available digitally, 24/7, around the world. In the coming weeks we will be adding at least one new Wizards of the Coast title per day, so check back often! So, does this change anything in reguards to the SCAP ever being available in a digital format for those of us that run from a laptop?

Looks like I'm not the only one with a facination with that li'l critter! Good to know the WTW have a small fan club!! I'm greatly looking forward to this AP guys. I loved the first one and have used the adventures here and there. I was planing on starting them and running them in order next month but with the announcement of a hardcover edition, I'll put that on hold for now... As far as Age of Worms timeline goes, I thouht there was a mentioning about it covering the backstory of Cauldron. I guess I just took that to mean we'd be seeing an AP that built up to SC and not set after it. Either way, if this new one is half as good as the first, we are in for a good time! |
