I like your goals for the game GM Quirk. A small location, local threats to start, and recurring NPCs. Reusing maps makes efficient use of your time.

In terms of a new character, I'm thinking either an ysoki or a kasatha. The ysoki would be a miner...soldier? Witchwarper? The latter would probably be a street rat solarian. I'm not certain about either one.

Thank you all for the fun gaming, especially GM Quirk! I hope everyone's new year starts with some peace.

Thank you for including me! I like this group. Remember I started as Yoromishtali, vesk soldier icon, making martial art videos on Absalom Station. I think that was in 2020.

From my perspective, we should start new characters with Starfinder Second Edition. I don't own the core book yet (hopefully Christmas), but Nethys has the rules.

As for the adventure, I think a series of short missions is the way to go, which I think is how the group/game started with Absalom Station focused scenarios. Nothing elaborate...like provide security for a dignitary from point A to point B; or sabotage the sound system at a nightclub. The location doesn't matter: Absalom Station, a starship, asteroids, any planet. Short, episodic scenarios is my preference. If the group would like to do a new AP, I'd be happy with that too.

I would love to help be a co-GM, but that is not realistic, even in the slow-pace of pbp, given my dad's health situation.

I await the group's consensus.

Happy holidays!!

I hope this game continues soon. I must warn you all that my posting is now very erratic since I'm helping a family member deal with a health crisis. The situation is stable, but it takes up the majority of my time now.

Thanksgiving was about as good as it could be considering the circumstances. I'm glad to read you and therealthom had a good Thanksgiving.

"Ah, now I understand your intention," Cidribvoot says, going over to the books and reading the titles. He starts putting many into a small pile. "If we leave him some, maybe he'll be more inclined to speak with us to get the rest back. I wonder how much time we have."

The dirindi looks at the others, "Should we talk to the neighbors to understand him better? Or maybe hack the apartment owners to learn who is on the contract?"

I am so, so sorry I disappeared for a month. Family drama came to town in early August and Covid (which I avoided) — I felt too drained to be creative. I’m going to do better. The drama is mostly gone for now.

Thank you for your patience!

”My instincts are to leave well enough alone,” Cidribvoot says. “Sometimes my instincts are amazingly wrong. I don’t know. I think this person is interested in uncovering the same thing we are, just he is falling for the disinformation about us. I will defer to what the group wants. We only recently met after all. Trust is still being earned. I’m the pilot.”

He smiles looking around the room, at his companions and the images on the walls. ”I guess I try to navigate life trying to make friends and not enemies — oh! Not implying you’re trying to make enemies either.”

Cidribvoot examines the room for hidden cameras.

"Well, I don't think we should take or destroy his research or books. I think he thinks we're part of the conspiracy, Lilly. Now why he thinks that makes me wonder how he found out about us. And why contact us? Send us a warning...maybe he wanted us to track him down? To lure us here? This is going to give me a headache," he places his hands on the side of his head.

I'm going to be at Comic-Con so I probably won't be posting until Monday. Feel free to bot if needed.

Have fun at GenCon GM!

"I suspect that this person suspects that we are not who we are," Cidribvoot says while looking at the holovids."He believes we are reptilians posing as us."

Cidribvoot looks the device Rar'gul discovered. "That's useful. I wonder why it was left behind."

He thinks to himself for a few moments. "Should we leave a message about what we know? I doubt he'd believe us, but if we give him a path to pursue, he might."

Do you want an accomplice? Cidribvoot asks using the group's telepathic members for communication. So you know, I've always relied on my natural talents. Never studied the arts of stealth and infiltration.

When Cidribvoot reads the comm message, the noodles he is chewing lose their flavor. They feel scratchy as he swallows them. He consciously doesn't turn around to scan the surroundings. He passes his comm to anyone who didn't get a ping.

"Well, I've lost my appetite. I didn't expect this."

He looks at the others' faces trying to judge their reaction to the message. Finally, he glances down at his food and starts to eat again. "Well, it's better to eat when you have the chance, even if you're not hungry. I've been a few places with rationing during prolonged hostilities. Who knows when we'll be here again?"

"Ah well, rumors are going around about a bad ending for the Perytons," Cidribvoot says after doing some infosphere sleuthing. "We're not going to use it as a screen to hid our true employment. I guess I'll seek out a job to ferry passengers between the station and their starships. Though I could drive a transport on Absalom -- cargo deliveries always need to be moved right?"

Okay, let's go back to the ship and try some hacking/forging employment forms.

Or perhaps there is a courier service we can join temporarily to make a delivery to Roselight? Maybe there's an infosphere site that matches couriers with people needing deliveries?

M Dirindi Soldier 7 SP 56/56 HP 53/53; F +8, R +8, W +7; Init +8; Per +4; Resolve 7

Is Cidribvoot still technically employed by Pike's Perytons? If so, he should have the starship registration, etc. needed for the permits. Also maybe there are forms on the starship that could prove temporary employment for the others...like they're independent contractors for a special project. Maybe on the ship we can do some hacking to forge the appropriate files.

M Dirindi Soldier 7 SP 56/56 HP 53/53; F +8, R +8, W +7; Init +8; Per +4; Resolve 7

"Corporate sponsorship?" Cidribvoot says. "Oh, can we return to you later? Maybe schedule an appointment? I'm employed by Pike's Perytons and need to check with my superior if the processing for their independent contractor... uh, contracts went through."

M Dirindi Soldier 7 SP 56/56 HP 53/53; F +8, R +8, W +7; Init +8; Per +4; Resolve 7

Cidribvoot is not really paying attention to the actions of the crew. He focuses on his comm, double, triple checking the information he needs to provide to the OCI. Hmmm, technically I am still employed by Pike's Perytons. I should find -- maybe registering at a mercenary agency would be prudent. Now let me select a recent photo--no, bad lighting--smiling too much--laughing--laughing--laughing--food on my shirt--bad lighting--I look too old--ah this one.

Cidribvoot doesn't have enough room to twist between shoppers, so he slows down. When he looks again John is ten meters ahead and stopped in the intersection.

"Yes, I agree. Let's conclude our business. We can check the infosphere for your double. Maybe he is active on social networks."

While passing the stores, Cidribvoot realizes he should buy a new backpack. He uses his comm to arrange a backpack to be delivered to their starship. His body's dimensions are sent so it will be properly fitted.

Industrial backpack; level 1, price: 25

Cidribvoot almost dances as he moves through the crowd, or at least he feels that way. A large step here, three quick trots to the left, a spin, "Excuse me, excuse me, oh pardon me," he says. He moves alongside the storefronts, hoping the people entering the shops will give him space to pivot quickly in the pursuit.

Cidribvoot's head turns to look at the woman anew. "In every possible way?" he asks. "When were you a couple? Does he still live on Absalom Station? Are you currently influenced by substances that are impairing your reasoning and critical thinking?"

Cidribvoot examines the vending machines closely. Should he get a hat? A new belt? Shoes? Or perhaps a finger timepiece?

In the end he, buys three packs of everyday wear, one formal suit -- "I assure you, it's not for a future appearance before a judge! I think the fabric's color harmonizes with my skin tone." -- and a pilot's professional suit.

He changes in the ship and appears in a long sleeve light gray shirt and casual dusty-rose pants. His laser pistol is on his right hip. A bandolier holds two grenades and energy clips.

"Power coupling?" Cidribvoot chuckles at Rar'gul's comment. "No, no, we don't need to do that. It will be fine. The ship will be fine. I just worry a little too much sometimes." He pats the side of the ship near the entrance ramp.

"New clothes?" he asks. "There should be some spare flight suits in the ship if you don't mind Pike's Perytons' branded gear. Do you have a preferred clothes retailer? If I am lacking funds, I'll just go to a 'lost-and-found' at a security station and borrow a jacket or cap. Then just leave it behind before departing the station. Works in many cities too."

Cidribvoot stands with his two lower eyes closed, while his third eye observes. Arms crossed, he appears to be thinking. After a few moments he says ,"John, we could try an investigative journalist. Change our tactics if OCI denies our application."

Cidribvoot herds the androids towards the exit. "Yes, yes. I suggest if you see us in the future, you change course."

Once the androids are gone, he asks, "Are we all going, or should someone guard the ship?"

Oh, I forgot about Rar'gul's serum ....and I feel like I critically failed a reading skill check, because the android drank the serum and is speaking! I'll try to fix this.

Cidribvoot shakes his head and laughs. "Ahhh sorry just a bit of dirindi humor to ease the tension...seriously though, answer his questions," he adds to the android.

Cidribvoot nods back at Rar'gul with the compliment of nice work. "Thank you but he needs advanced care. Anyone have magic they can use? Otherwise we need to get some medics quick." "Spar N-380, heard," Cidribvoot confirms to the docking assistant. He manipulates the controls and adjusts direction to their assigned dock. He glances at the traffic flow to see if any disturbances are occurring.

"T'sorkel, I've been here many times over the past sixteen years," the dirindi says. "But not frequent enough to make any lasting friendships. We wanted to get our ship modified so it no longer looks like the Voidcrier. We can find someone to do that. Also, do we know what the reptoids were going to do next? Maybe we can lead the Stewards there to catch them in the act?"

"The mattresses are surprisingly comfortable. Pike was a firm believer in quality sleep," Cidribvoot says smiling at Doc. "We decided to travel to Upwell, without going through the Drift. Have you been to Upwell? If you're into starship and gas-mining you'll love it. He indicates a monitor to the left. "That's the planned course."

He reads the files when they become available. "My family won't believe this about me at least. Well maybe some might after what happened at Skydock..." his voice fades off as he becomes lost in thought.

We could document our discovery on the Infosphere, but I'm sure there are countless conspiracies on there. Ours would be lost within the noise."

His fingers press a few buttons on the flight controls. "So some place near Liavara and thus Roselight, but safe to contact Abadar Corp. We could go to Nchak, Rar'gul and T'srokel. Psyden is on the opposite side of Liavara from Roselight. Oh, Upwell is the main spaceport for Liavara. One more ship shouldn't draw much attention. They all advantages. Arkanen too would suffice."

Is there a procedure for changing the names of starships? Modifying their appearance? Would that be a culture check?
