Male Human Bonded Wizard 1 (HP:11/15) (AC: 12)
Sorry about disappearing. I've ended up taking 18 hours this year on top of more commitments to stuff so I can graduate on time, and also make the most of what is hopefully my last year. I'm doing my best to keep up with stuff, but I honestly can't promise it won't happen again.

Carson tries for the summoner again while attempting to remember what exactly this new thing is. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 to hit 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 damage +1 bleed 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 know planes Howler Demon! The quills will stick in you if they make contact, and listening to it can drive you insane. We need to get rid of it quick. Tough skin but easy to hit, no specific weaknesses or resistances.

Carson continues on along with the group, considering things silently. He very often gets lost in his thoughts but does stare at the shifting of the mace with extreme interest. He has always been skeptical about such things and the earlier crusaders attempting to sacrifice a girl didn't help. He could already make his own weapon look like any design he wanted, falcons and all. "It may be good to rest here before moving out. One of the upstairs rooms should be plenty defensible."

Carson sighs as she goes to stab Khaz again, activating his readied action from last round to sling another spear. If we're just going to kill all our problems in the name of 'good,' what makes us any better than those crusaders? 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 to hit
If that doesn't do it, he'll try again on his turn this round. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 to hit

"Well, they already know we're here. May as well light things up."
This is one of the functions of the Dancing Lights spell, oddly enough.

Carson stands down without any further fight when Khaz talks them out of it. If it was a fair fight one on one he was confident he could've taken the guy, but not if he was going to be ganged up on. "Let's keep moving. Hopefully we don't run into any more so-called crusaders. Pray they don't find anyone else out here."

"We are all here to help. I promise you there are far better ways than taking this woman's life to help. We are well aware of what has happened here. We have been cutting our way through demons for the past two days, and I will not allow you to murder he. If you wish to start killing people over an archaic and unproven ritual that I've never even heard of in the centuries of history and libraries worth of demon slaying books I've been through, you will have to start with me." Carson stands his ground, taking none of this.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 History "I've never even heard of something like that, despite that fact that killing someone innocent is so blatantly wrong. This is just assisted suicide. If this was confirmed to work, we'd have lines of virgins selling their own blood to crusaders here. There's just no grounds for it. Even if it would actually work, you can take blood from someone without killing them quite easily. Trust me, all of this group has lost a lot of it lately. We've been able to take down most of the demons we've encountered here. Please just join us in escorting these civilians and everything will be alright." It takes all of Carson's energy not to prestidigitize up a slideshow about how much of a bad idea this is with no scientific basis.

Carson rolls his bedroll out in a section of the library, reading whatever he could get his hands on by a single glowing light, kept behind his book so as not to disturb the others. He makes sure to get enough sleep to refresh his spells the next morning, however. "Many thanks. We haven't found anything similar that I can remember, but we will do our best to help you in return for your hospitality."

There really should be a flow chart or something for copying spells. I never thought it would be this complicated. "See this section, now see this section, if you make the roll see this section, find the table, pay the fee." Geeze. I'll be working on this.

1d20 ⇒ 13 Carson is a bit preoccupied once they mention a spell book, but he lets them out of the book tower before starting on it. "Yes, I am actually. I was hoping we might find one here. And it's a pleasure to meet you. I just wish it was on better circumstances."
Male Human Bonded Wizard 1 (HP:11/15) (AC: 12)
Carson helps to carefully unstack the books around the trapped librarians and others so as not to damage them, but to get the others out as soon as possible. This is such an odd thing to do. I guess he intended to keep you here, but this is just such a strange way to go about it. He really must have been insane.
Male Human Bonded Wizard 1 (HP:11/15) (AC: 12)
Carson stirs up more dancing lights as his armor fades away.
"Lorena, can you do anything to help Khaz? Wait... Lantern Archon. " If that's high enough to know about an Archon's spell likes:
"Oh, wait again, who has those health potions? We should have two. Either way, Carson moves in to help the people pinned in, knowing he can't do anything personally to help Khaz. "We're here to help. Why was he trying to block you all up in here?"

We should check the abandoned alchemist shop, but after that, I don't have a better plan. I'd like to check and see if my uncle's shop is still there sometime soon if it's on the way or after. He's a mage, but I'm not sure how he would fend in this kind of thing...
