Hearing the sounds of battle and the strange sound of metal-on-wood, he dashes around the corner, drawing his long blade. He sees a strange sight: his companions fighting what appears to be a moving chair, which is launching itself at them. Without asking any further questions, he darts forward and slashes at it.

He draws his long, curved sword. Though its use would seem impractical against such tiny creatures, the long blade is quicker than it looks. He slashes forward at the closer of the two, hoping not to hit Kenri in the process.

He pulls out the keyring they found earlier. "There's a similarly-shaped key on here. Could that be where it goes?" He tries putting the Asmodean key into the keyhole.

He stops when he enters the garden, instantly feeling out of place among the rich and affluent party-goers. His training kicks in, forcing him forward one step and then another to try to make him blend in. Were it not for this don't-stand-out instinct, and his choice of disguise, even the most casual observer would have seen him as one who doesn't belong. He finds the emptiest-looking table, distributes onto it the contents of his tray, and heads back the way he came.

"Okay," he says in a low voice when he rejoins the others. "There are a lot of hiding places in the garden, but getting all the way across without being seen would be a challenge. Worse, the place is circled by a balcony with more people on it, making that even harder. There is another servant's door on the other side, but I'm thinking we'd all need disguises if we want to get through here."

As he walks through the indicated door, he runs into his companions. Well that was unexpected... He laughs and shifts the tray of drinks to his other hand. "Well here's my plan. I was going to go among the crowd and see what I can learn, as well as scope out the room. Nobody questions a servant."

I was gonna see if there are any doors on the other side of the garden, and go there.

Calchas picks up the indicated tray. "Got it." He glances briefly at the two doors leading out, unsure of his next move. Having no clue where the garden is or how to get there, he follows the next servant to leave the kitchen. Which door that takes me through is up to you.

Getting an idea, he heads into the kitchen in his servant's garb and looks around for a tray of food/drinks waiting to be delivered.

If I see one:
"Where can I take this?" he asks no one in particular.

He flips his wand around in his hand and flicks it toward himself.

His beak appears to melt into his face, and his black feathers soften into pink flesh. Even his clothes change-- his weapons disappear, and his armor becomes plain servant's garb. (Disguise Self.) "I have a better idea. We were given disguises, weren't we? Might as well use them."

He takes the keys from Thorleif, not entirely sure why the ranger was handing them off but accepting them nonetheless. At least I'll be able to open all the doors now. And some of them the easy way. "Should we disguise ourselves now? Wouldn't do to be wandering about in here looking like this."

While his companions try to smooth-talk their way into being allowed to proceed, he looks around the room for exits. He hopes things won't escalate that badly, but one should always know one's options. Besides the main doors and side door they'd just come in that both lead back outside, he wonders where the others go.

As they turn into the dark alley, Calchas becomes difficult to see with an untrained eye-- his black feathers blend into the shadows seemingly all on their own. He pulls out a wand from his pack and holds it along the length of his forearm, keeping it handy as he follows Rod in through the door.

Ooo I wish I'd brought my tiefling to this module, he's Cheliax Dark Archives...

Stealth and discretion? Sounds like this is the job for me. Covered head-to-talon in black feathers and sporting a large beak, Calchas's appearance is almost comical-- except for the large assortment of weapons he carries openly. Several daggers are fastened to his belt, and across his back he carries a few javelins, a shortbow, a quiver of arrows, and a long curved blade of elvish design. He laughs at Thorleif's comment. "Come on, sneaking into the Chelish embassy? And being paid for it? When will you get that opportunity again?" In reality, this job was no laughing matter-- he'd heard the reputation of Chelish people. Most places, if you're caught sneaking in, the worst they'll do is kill you. These people, though... they're far more creative.

So my question was never answered... I'm confused by the replayability of some modules but not others. If I play this module with one of my other characters, can I still play it with this one?

As expected, the zombie explodes, covering him in pollen. He coughs, praying to whatever the god of health might be that he doesn't have to take more of that awful antidote. He turns just in time to see who he assumes to be Vondrella fall. "Good work, people. Let's try and get this stuff cleared up and the remaining flower groves burned. Wouldn't want someone else to take this mission upon themselves."

In preparation for battle, he draws his sword and crouches like a sprinter. When Saera's pistol sounds its call, he shoots forward with superhuman (supertengu?) speed at the now-injured cultist, slashing downward when he arrives.

Round 1: use 1 ki point to increase my speed for 1 round, close with the cultist, swing. I'm on my phone so I'll update my position when I get home.

How far is it to the clearing? Does the map indicate any other flower gardens between here and there? I'm thinking if it does, we should burn as many as we can. (Then again, giving away the path we're taking might be a bad idea...)

He nods. "I can scout ahead, if you'd prefer not to be taken by surprise."

The next morning he wakes and stretches. He takes a moment to preen his feathers, trying to get that horrible aftertaste out of his mouth. "Better, yes," he says to Saera, "though I really hope I won't need any more of that stuff. I've had roadkill that tasted better. Glad we caught it in time. Ready when everyone else is."
