Hi ben, doesn't your avatar look saucy in the morning!?!

@GM Captain Trips. Thank you for responding to my questions. I wanted to let you know that I am officially backing out of the submittal process. I will not have time to complete the character due to other commitments.

Alright I will be posting a character soon. CJ will be posting one as well.

I am an inexperienced player online. I have played several games with herkymr the silly in real life. He was talking about this campaign and so I would like to submit and I have a couple of different characters, would you like me to post them separately or only post one?

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

AAhhhh, look Goblins come to steal us, run away.

Bullpup yells this as he sees the group and turns toward the side of the road away from the river and starts running.

dmben:
I need to do a perception to get a better understanding of was the surrounding vegetable/foliage/cover/ hills/etc is where we are currently at.

stealth :1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

As bullpup gets about 20 feet away he becomes oddly quiet, not yelling or talking at all and seems to disappear.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I help I know where to find pink root and mulwort heart

Survival :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

As Averin leans close to Durren Bullpup quietly sneaks up behind him to listen.

stealth :1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

if successful:
Seperate not better, we need to stay group so big furry naked tails don't eat us one at a time. You part of group now, stay here like footie, hey do I need to tie string to you so you follow too.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Gax,....mm....mm..When you die i keep cards safe

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I was helping you, it almost fall to ground. Bullpup pulls out a cloth that is about as clean as a bar towel that has seen too many years and wipes down the rod.

Here you go, I just being friendly, it is pretty though. Bullpup hands back the rod and then scampers back to Tobia and softly scolds Footie.

DMBen:
Perception checks to examine the surrounding country as well as the other members of the party.
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

DMBen:
As we are walking Bullpup notices that there is something hanging out of Durren's pack. Something with a handle that has a metal band at the end that catches the light. Bullpup is mesmerized by it and decides that he has to take a closer look.

stealth :1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
SOF :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

As he slides it out of Durren's pack he slows down until he is at the back of the group, then pulls the rod out of his sleeve to look at it.
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I cant remember if I have a fort save or not but here you go

Fortitude:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

look at that I am ...... of yeah a gully dwarf ;)

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I not get in trouble, I am smart Gully Dwarf. You really let me ride, really, really? I get you ears but yours look fine

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Goblins stand on line not in line. If in line cover them with dirt so they don't smell, hehehehe Bullpup pulls on the string connected to the dead lizard that is dragging on the ground behind him. Footie here will keep them in line.

Bullpup tries to turn around to grab Footie but the leash is short enough that footie moves every time Bullpup tries to grab it. This starts Bullpup running in circles and figure eights trying to catch the lizard that hops and slides over the terrain. The whole time Bullpup is scolding the lizard. After a few more minutes he gives up and says:

See what I mean, Footie very good at not getting caught

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I am good to go when everyone else is

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup Laughs and then throws the rock at Durren's head

Attack improvised:1d20 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 4 = 6
unarmed Damage:1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

It is shiny and it hurts hehe. Bullpup jumps back and hides behind tobia

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

oh, need shiny mirror. Have one in pouch Bullpup rummages around in his pack for a bit and then pulls out a rock that looks similar to the ones surrounding them in the garden.
This one special, want to see what it does?

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Wh Wha What did you....smelll? bullpup asks quietly.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I follow staying next to tobiaa

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup hands over the stake and the glass ball and then quickly slips into the room before the Gardner can take the rocks. He follows the group into the room but stays behind Tobiaa like a frightened child would peeking out around him and darting back whenever any of the men look like they are going to look at him.

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Sorry things have gotten a little more strange and stressful at my house. I will be posting more during the day than in the evening at this time. I am trying to keep up but at the same time my character will be doing random things while others drive the story. I am somewhat quieter since I do not want to bog the story down with the Gully dwarfs normal thought processes while the story is evolving. When there is time for action I will definitely be attentive but for the most part my character will amuse himself with odd things and make offhand comments. I can make him more vocal but I felt that it would be a little distracting at this point in the story line.

What do you guys think, should I be posting more of Bullpup's random ideas and jabbering that he would do with people he feels comfortable around. Right now that is only Tobiaa and to a small extent Kharn since Bullpup feels that what he says is fun and interesting.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I like helpful, will they help destroy the dark furry naked tails with me, more help always good

Bullpup rattles on until the door is closed but stays next to Gax at the moment since he was included.

Spoiler:
since he is close to Gax, Bullpup happens to think he sees a card coming out of Gax's pack and tries to grab it and put it in his own for study later

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
SOF :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup follows at the back of the group looking around at gardens and the people as well

The following checks are to see more about the surroundings and possible things that bullpup might find interesting.

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
SOF :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

if successful:
Bullpup sees a glass ball about 3 inches in diameter that has the colors of the rainbow cascading on the surface as he turns it. It is suppended in a wire stake frame that is 12 inches in total length. As he passes it, the ball and stake seems to start falling so he catches it as he is walking by. It comes right out of the ground and since he does not want to lose the group he continues walking and happens have the stake and ball disappear in his pack. He also finds 5 or six small fist sized rocks that glitter when wet. Those also went into his pack.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Oh drink...., on the house....., really? I take a a tankard of ale pour it on the floor, look back at Jherrine, say thanks, and being slurping the ale off the floor.

I like on the house!

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

to Kharn
I would like to meet this Dracula, maybe he has more buckles!

Turning to Jherrine I say,
Melted...into...the...crowd. Sound Painful. Was he able to pull himself together? I giggle and then continue to play with the belt buckle.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

sounds fine to me as well.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I go sit next to tobia and start playing with the broken belt buckle. Such great treasure with many uses,...

Perception on what the weasel is doing at this moment
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Smupop likes him, I pat his head, he be fine.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I walk over to the man at that is unconcious in H7 and check to see what he has. If there are pouches or shoe buckles I will use slight of hand to take them while talking to Tobia -- Wow that cool, you teach me to be big fighter?

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
SOF :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Is there some map you guys are looking at that I just can't find. I want to know if he is running toward me or not?

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Based on the numbers that I rolled for perception and fortitude I did not put a reaction since I am guessing I will be affected by whatever is happening to the people in the room.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Fortitude:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Oh look I can do that too. Bullpup jumps up and starts mimicking Tobia's moves while standing on the table.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I like fungus, especially the brown kind that has the slime jelly on it. It is very good to use in cooking. I will have to make dinner some night for you so that you can see what I am talking about.
Bullpup turns to Marcus barely taking time to breath. Brass really isn't as good as copper and gold so why would anyone want to tax with it. They seem to be a little slow in the head to want to tax you in brass. Is that what they do where you come from?

Bullpup turns back to Tobia Do we really get to go to the shadow-lands, will I get to ride your yak by then?

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Hey Henneska,
isn't it interesting that people hear a noise and have to go investigate. I figure it the noise wants to be found out it will come find me. Do you like my buckle? Don't worry about tobia he is really a neat guy and he has a Yak that he said I will get to ride soon. Do you think we will be able to find your family? I looked for mine but they were not smart enough to return to the cave. Don't worry Smupop will protect them and lead us to them.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup takes the sack from Gax and absently puts it in his pack. Bullpup looks up for the first time realizing that Henneska is in the room.

Hello sir you look quite troubled, when I am troubled I always remember what my Highblup would say. He would say "Put on a happy face, you might not know when your going to need it". Is there something you lost like this belt buckle that i can help you find?

Bullpup wipes off the belt buckle on his shirt which causes the buckle to get dirtier and holds it out to Henneska.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I updated the discussion board and my character

Here is the new roll.

craft roll:

craft Blacksmithing :1d20 - 5 ⇒ (17) - 5 = 12

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue
DMBen wrote:
A perception check will show you what it looks like. Do you have any knowledge it craft skills that might tell you what a piece of metal is? I didn't see any craft our profession skills, did you take your free one?

No I did not take one, I only added the trait you gave me, I will do that now.

I took craft blacksmithing and it works great since the story addition to the background is as follows.

While in the city one day Bullpup was chasing a rat that ended up running into a backsmith shop. Bullpup killed the rat and when he turned from the corner saw a huge man standing before him. The man looked annoyed, frustrated, and rushed. What Bullpup did not realize was that the smith was working by himself and a particularly difficult piece and had to constant stoke the flames using the bellows to keep the metal at the right temperature. He took a quick look at Bullpup, pointed to the bellows and said in a commanding tone. Squeeze them together and pull them apart. Bullpup confused walked over to the bellows and did what he was asked. The smith repeated the chant a few times and then started lowering his voice as an expression of awe washed over Bullpup. Each time he squeezed the bellows the flames lept up and the heat increased. As he pulled the bellows apart the flames would lessen and the heat would drop. Bullpup lost himself in the rythm of the bellows and it was not until the smith laid a hand on his shoulder that Bullpup realized that the smith was even there. The smith said come back tomorrow, gave Bullpup some food and pushed him out of the shop. Bullpup came back the next day and everyday for a few weeks. The smith tried to show Bullpup other things around the forge but Bullpup's interest was always brought back to the bellows. While Bullpup could not keep the names of the tools right he could keep the forge at whatever temperature the smith wanted. The smith began to realize that Bullpup would never make a good apprentice, but he was a great assistant as long as he was not talking. In order to stop Bullpup from talking all the smith had to do was point at the bellows. One the last day that Bullpup remembered to go to the Smithy, the blacksmith asked for a set of bending forks and was amazed that Bullpup actually brought him the right tool on the first try.

The story update has been added to the character profile

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup sits down on the table and pulls a strange piece of metal from a pouch at his side and starts to examine it.

I wonder what this is.

He looks it over and then licks it a couple times. He starts singing a little incoherent diddy and tries to use the corner of the metal to scratch marks into the table.

Spoiler:
Perception to see what the metal object is. It is the strange object from the pouch I acquired earlier.

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup picks up the card and looks at it in awe.

You have a picture of Smupop. Wow, he looks like he always does in my night visions.

relfex:
Reflex :1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

if successful:
Bullpup turns to show tobia the card as he kicks the chair out from under gax.
Acrobatics :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Bullpup jumps up in the air, does a flip and lands on the table on his feet and one hand. Bullpups left hand is held straight out holding the card that he just got from Gax. Hey look at this card, he shows the card to tobia and continues talking as if the incident with Gax never happened. This is Smupop. My parents told me that Smupop protects my family. It is his only job to keep us safe since we are all so smart.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup sees Tobia, hears the question and says:
Look at this really neat buckle that I got, I know that Smupop wanted me to have it otherwise it would not have been where it was. Oh and there was a lady that did not want me to find you. She told me to look for my parents, and something about baths but I was too upset with footie for tripping me. I was looking for your yak but I guess I can try to find sneaker. Oh hey can I look at those?

Bullpup has been looking around the room as he was speaking and noticed the cards on the table in front of Gax. Bullpup walks up while continuing to talk.

Can you do that trick again, I want to try to catch the cards while they are in the air. Oh that one looks nice....

Bullpup reaches for the card on the table.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup sits in the corner for a few minutes watching what is going on around him and being generally bored. After a bit he notices that there is no one in the hallway that tobia went down. He quietly slips into the hallway and tries another door to see what interesting things he can find in it.

Spoiler:

I want to use perception to check the hall to verify it is clear and then stealth to try to sneak into the hallway without anyone seeing me like Jherrine, Then I threw in a disable device in case the door is locked, and a perception check to see what I can see once I get the door open.

Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
stealth :1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Disable device :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

talking..................sorry

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

@Gax My guy is causing a gully dwarf amount of annoyance until rats are found or someone figures out that I have taken things. I think that the story is awesome at this point and that no one is taking too much.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I guess I can look in the other room.

Bullpup wanders back into the common room and finds a darker place to sit and watch the hallway were tobia went.

Spoiler:
Perception check to see what is going on
Perception :1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

you are correct about the gully dwarf with one exception. I would be a very dirty and smelly kid.

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

I am looking for my friend a weasel and a teapot man. That room really doesn't look special, and I am old enough, I am 2 years old now. Do you know where my friend the weasel and the teapot man went. I can just look in the rooms if you don't and since I am not stepping in them there should be no reason to charge me. Wanna see this cool buckle I just got, look its shiny and everything.

Bullpup reaches in his pocket for the belt buckle and while digging loses his balance and falls over before he can rest the buckle out. He gets up and turns around to the lizard attached to his pack by a string.

Footie that was not nice to trip me. I didn't forget you but now you are in trouble come here. Bullpup walks over and picks up the lizard and swats it once on its butt. Don't make me do that again. I did not want to punish you in public but if you make me fall again I will. Turning to Jherrine, See isn't this neat, Bullpup holds up the buckle.

Just letting everyone know, I am going camping for the weekend. I may put up another response or two before I go, but after that I probably won't be on again till until Monday.

I was kinda wondering what happened until late Saturady night when I saw this message

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Bullpup continues walking down the hall trying to open door after door to see who is in the rooms. When he comes across any people he asks: Hello Hello have you seen my friend a weasel and a tea pot man?

Spoiler:

As I walk up to each door I will try the knob to see if the door opens. If the door is locked I will use disable device to try to open the door.
disable device rolls. I don't know how many you need so here are three.

Disable device :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Disable device :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Disable device :1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Male Gully Dwarf Rogue

Oh no, I wonder where he went, I hope he will let me still ride on the yak.
