So when you say: TriOmegaZero wrote: After the first two turned it down, yeah. You seem to affirm that Ninja Division was the only option. Only to follow up with: TriOmegaZero wrote:
Which shows you really know nothing of the process. Yet still feel confident to push forward the Ninja Division or nothing narrative despite TriOmegaZero wrote: not having skin in the game. That's quite special.
TriOmegaZero wrote: After the first two turned it down, yeah. This is the type of answer that makes me think the Paizo-apologists on this thread are just trying to troll the angry fans. It seems to stick to a narrative that Ninja Division was the only other option despite no proof that they could accomplish this, and plenty to show they couldn't. We all know of many other companies that produce miniatures. Were they approached? But this nonsense narrative that it was only Ninja Division just is aggravating because it assumes a poor level of understanding of those hurt by this kickstarter of the miniature market in general. Was Fantasy Flight approached? How about Game Time? What of the myriad of board game makers that use highly detailed miniatures. To say it was Ninja Division or nothing seems to come from a fantasy.
It does seem strange to me that a company would allow the license to go to a company that had such a poor record, even at the time of the start of the kickstarter. I think that part of the question is where so much anger and frustration directed a Paizo comes from. I would really like to know why this decision was made. The answer that seems to be coming from non-Paizo apologists is that they needed minis is really poor. It seems to imply that Paizo was so desperate that they disregarded concerns over their fans to rapidly have a product sent to the market. While I have read Sara Marie say recently that, "Paizo absolutely cares", the actions that led to the ND licensing do not seem to reflect that. Maybe they care now, but that's after I have lost $400 to a predatory company they licensed and actively supported despite so many warning signs. In that case, thanks for your recent concern Paizo, but you helped to land me, and many others in this situation so your concern is now considered suspect.
I was waiting for the miniatures before I began to play Starfinder. I believe the kickstarter mentioned a May 2018 delivery. So I still have not yet played the game. Now with this failure I really feel like I have lost my taste to play it. Combined with 2E and I feel like I am just at the end of my relationship with Paizo which is a shame as I really enjoyed them for years. It makes me feel sad.
I really like the idea of the Half-Orc as an alternate racial trait to the human or full Orc playable PC. It would de-emphasize the sexual assault aspect yet still offer the playable option to all of the people here bragging about their loving Human-Orc parents. It would be great to see the Orc in the new Core. Another part of the orc is that the view of them has evolved since AD&D and 1E PF. Playing in WoW or watching the movie Warcraft as well as their inclusion in other games has given them so much more of a realized place in fiction than I would say the gnomes have.
My group finished Giantslayer so here are some thoughts: I really liked the first two books which dealt primarily with the Orc stuff. I found this compelling and enjoyed the sense of place that came with Belkzen and Trunau. Unfortunately after book 2 the AP sends you off into mountains and your essentially homeless murderhobos. Book 5 was terrible and our GM did massive rewrites to make it work out as less of a mindless grind. In fact a lot of the later part of the AP is a massive grind that tested the creativity of our GM and her ability to rewrite and design substitute material. The end boss was boring and not particularly flushed out. So yeah, not too much love for GS but it really didn't live up to its potential.
You should try it. It might prove to be interesting to see how well those capstones work and also make the campaign a bit more memorable. I would suggest bumping up the power level of the end fights but that is something I find always should happen as they are often in my experience weak compared to the power levels of the PCs.
I think it is strange that in a game where you can not be evil but you can cast evil aligned spells and bring dead things to kill living things. So my paladin being upset by this inconsistency is wrong? I guess we just have to remember this is organized play so stop RPing and get the mission done. Your character personality and background mean nothing to the greater purpose of this "cooperate" idea that functions in the case of the necromancer as a loophole for do evil things (like use evil spells). And people wonder why PFS is the home to the munchkin and powergamer. Its because RP is always placed secondary to kill and kill fast.
I hope some of the new races open up. I couldn't be more bored of the same old tolkien races. I also don't play maybe so much as many people but I do not see so many teifling and aasimar PCs that break the game and I see no Tengus. Please allow us to play something other than the 40 year old way of seeing fantasy!
I think the attitude that I hear so much here is just go out and make a big group so you can also get boons. Some even here say "EARN YOUR BOON". Maybepeople think that people like me that find it objectionable to have to buy a 40$ book but not have full access to its content do not try to form big groups? This is not true. I would be very happy to have many people to play Pathfinder with. I have used the web andfriends and other connections. So far I am lucky to find 5 people to play. But they do not want to play Society so much because of many limitations. Now we have even more limitation because hardcover books come out that Society wont use. Between the unsympathetic people that "cant believe" people can not form big groups and more that think supporting Pathfinder with purchasedoes not "entitle" people makes me feel sad for thefuture of the community. Since I am one of "those who complain" I will just go away from this messageboard. I do not think my opinion worth hearing to people hear. Sorry.

I think I read this wrong because it seems to read that you think I am wrong to feel sad that a book I must pay40$. For will not be able to be used for more than 50% of the content unless I play at Cons and get boons. This makes me wrong because I want my money worth from a purchase? Maybe 40$ just mean more tome then to you because I feel "entitled" to be able to fully enjoy my purchase.

This! I also stopped playing online PFS because I had so much trouble finding groups that RP. I think now I see why that is so hard.
