Peat looks perplexed at the absent-minded astronomer, but shrugs and goes back to investigating the area. They look carefully all around the hole this device came from, for any other objects, devices, or clues that might help understand what is happening.

The next morning, Peat goes to all the shops they visited yesterday, to see if they can get the 10% discount retroactively ...

I'll assume that was an Administer First Aid check to Stop Bleeding, because if I bleed for 10 minutes (60 rounds) while you do Treat Wounds, I'll be laying dead in a puddle of my own fruit juice before I get any HP back. ;)

Peat flexes the vine that is competently bandaged and says, "Thanks!"

Later, back at the observatory, Peat offers their rope to the others to help pull the device out of the hole. "I'm not much of a lifter, myself, but I think I can help rig up a bit of a pulley system to take some of the weight off your backs."

I am not trained in Medicine so need a First Aid check to stop my bleeding. Can do alchemical healing, and generate a healing berry every day, but have no skill. ;)

Gog - It looks like Disrupt Shadows has the Concentrate trait. I think you began raging at the start of combat, which means you can't do concentrate actions. If you have the Moment of Clarity feat, it would take up one of your three actions to give you the ability to do concentrate actions.

Since that is a critical success on the recall knowledge, everyone gets +1 to their next attack (before my next turn) against the bat swarm to the west.

Having identified their weakness, Peat doesn't seem to think their attacks would have much of a success against a swarm, so again tries to disrupt their shadow energy ... but first he has to get a little closer to the swarm.

We have a pretty big party. The Adventure Paths are typically written for 4 characters, and we have double that. Not that I want to be on the brink of death at level 1, but both of our fights thus far have been over insanely quickly, so we might want to consider scaling the encounters, either by adding more enemies or giving them an Elite template or something, as appropriate.
