Beket is all finished and ready to go. His appearance, personality, and background are complete so the fluff is all set with the crunch.


Okay, this is my character. I have played a little past Book 1 with him previously as a druid. It feels strange to be playing a character with no archetype. Just a normal, everyday fighter here.

The idea is my character is pretty simple; born in the Mwangi Expanse and captured by slavers to be sold in Cheliax. Led a small revolution after a storm ravaged the ship, escaped, and ended up in Port Peril after hopping from ship to ship just to be shanghai'd. Wants to be the bane of the Chelaxian Navy and all slavers in the Shackles.

The needle sticks into Beket's skin and he can feel a weakening begin to run through his being. The poison loses its effectiveness as the kraken caller's rage grows. He steps forward to deliver more pounding attacks against the masks, while Rytys tries to return the favor against the one that stabbed him.

Beket sees the face in the jungle and those black eyes widen, the tentacles whipping into a fury as he lets out a growl.

"Enemies!" The man shouts as he charges down the path towards the faces in the jungle, club and shield in hand with Rytys flying in just above him.

Beket and Bleepos are probably in the lead, maybe 10ft ahead of the rest of the party. Probably 5-10ft between themselves as well.

Beket will move towards the body cautiously, no interested in letting the ground or tree animate again. His eyes keep a look out for danger, studying every movement around him as his ears listen through the thick growth around them.

Beket watches the man who was slain with cold, impassive eyes. Besmara gives as much as she takes away and they had been fortunate for too long. The man was the price to be bad; far better him than any of them. Bessie's words gain his attention and he nods, turning back towards the path. Rytys comes down and lands on the large man's shoulders, claws carefully digging into the druid's armor. He makes his way to the jungle, waving for the others to follow as he takes the lead.

Beket struggles to bring down the enemy before them, his club smashing against sand but not striking true enough to disturb the enemy's cohesion. Another series of attacks strike out at their foe. Rytys joins his master's wild strikes, clawing and pecking at the elemental's being.

Beket and Rytys both rotate around the golem made of sand and rage. The roc let out a shriek of pain at the damage it had suffered but the two of them fought on regardless. Bessie's call to Besmara brought a wave of healing into him and he felt a surge of adrenaline rush through him. The battle was still raging and he would not dishonor the Runetooth name by falling to such unworthy foes.

Beket suffered another powerful blow, spittle mixed with blood erupting from the imposing druid's lips. He stumbles back for a moment, unsteady on his feet before snapping back into the fight. He was favoring his side badly though, obviously harmed and not able to continue to take repeated punishment like that much more. With a quick whistle, he pushed Rytys to attack again as he swung with his club and tentacles and snapped with powerful jaws.

The strikes from the risen figures of sand crunch hard into Beket's side, his armor providing just enough cushioning to keep the blow from being lethal. The seascarred grunts in pain and calms himself down, readying his club again before striking once more at the golem. Rytys does the same, raking with claws and beak.

Beket was walking up the beach as the sand began to shift underneath him, his black eyes looking down at the strange movements while the tentacles that emerged from under his back twitched in the air. These creatures of sand began to rise up from the ground and earned a roar of anger and irritation from the kraken caller.

"Rytys!" He shouts for, the loud shriek of the massive bird above echoing as it dived down towards the enemies below. As his companion entered combat, he would grip his club tightly and swing hard and fast at the foe before him. Pivoting around the sand to flank it, he struck hard and fast before attacking with his tentacles and bites.

Rytys will charge, giving him an AC of 21 and +2 to attack. Beket will 5ft step and attack.

Beket, with his shield and club in hand, will make his way up the beachfront and towards where the last two sailors were seen before they disappeared into the jungle. Leaning down, he'd study their footprints in the sand before looking back at the others. [b]"We should track them. They're distracting the predators, maybe we can make them prey."[b]

Once the crew is within Ngozu, Beket swaggers to the local taverns to spreads the news of the Peril crew and their victories. While they are impressive enough to get him free plates of food and a few free drinks, the streets do not yet come alive with the tales of their crew's notorious beginning.

I know we're getting closer to mid-June, has anyone checked in with Bleepos's player? I know they were saying it was around mid-June that they'd possibly be returning.

I am also wondering if we want to grab another character as well and get ourselves back up to 4/5 players? What do you all think?

Beket spreads tales about the crew, their exploits, but his tales are bloody and wrathful. Few show interest and the seascarred's demeanor is more than a little off-putting. Beket shrugs it off, the crop of sailors here must be weak to be so soft in their belly.

I am fine with a day so the newlyweds can at least meet and Orslaw can make himself known. After that, we should get the ship squibbed and sold.

At Bessie's suggestion, Beket's voice crackles with a cruel laugh. He nods softly, turning towards the others.

"I agree with our priestess; we take the mixed crew and sail off to Rickety's to have it squibbed and then sell it off. We divide the crew as best we can and fill our bunks. As for the Mwangi...well...Besmara would surely grin at such an offer."

Eager for a chance of plunder, coin, and blood to be offered to the Banshee Queen. The sails drop down on the Perilous Pearl and the ship sets sail out from the The Rock. The tall man moves along the deck, aiding where he can to help the ship catch ahead.

Beket technically does but he is restrained by the druidic code. Give me that au naturale please.

On the day of the wedding, Beket goes out swimming in the depths around The Rock before returning a little bloodied but with a dead shark in tow. He butchers it with a practiced hand, harvesting the liver before cooking it lightly enough and seasoning it with salt after evaporating it from the sea. He would bring it to the married couple, the meat still rather bloody, before offering it to them both.

"A gift of strength. May you always be the predators and never the prey." The tall man says, staring at them until a bite is taken from the cooked meat. Only then will Beket be pleased, drinking merrily with the crew and singing the old songs that had long since been forgotten by the sailors of the Shackles.

After the celebrations, the brooding nature of their druid returns. He has Rytys assist in finding good ships on his daily hunts while accompanying Guillaume on the hunt for the sahuagin. For them to have struck so quickly, there had to be a nest of them somewhere nearby. Bleepos was going to be quite excited when they find them, that much was certain.

The entire time that the crew is stationed at the lighthouse, Beket is anxious. He spends more time at the beach than the tavern, his mood souring quickly before wanderlust drives him into the waters to explore safely nearby. Only Rytys gives him constant company, the seascarred's bad temperament known to Captain Guillaume and it was a well-known secret that when Runetooth was feeling irritated, it was best to leave the strange druid be. He leaves the townsfolk alone as well, instead more interested in exploring the island than meeting its people.

It seemed that the town had a reasonable relationship with the crew that once commanded the lighthouse; tolerating some mischief in return to them spending coin. Beket remained quiet, standing behind his captain with his arms folded.

Beket would definitely suggest sauntering in with a gang of pirates and leave a skeleton crew behind at the lighthouse. We don't know how friendly the town will be to its new proprietors.

Beket would stroll down from the lighthouse with a swagger in his step, his poorly kept teeth on display with a wide smile. Overhead, Rytys flew quietly and lazily while watching its master walk towards the down with a band of cutthroat pirates at his back. He looked over at his captain, giving him a nod of support as they reached the town's outskirts.

"I will stay with you captain. Make sure the new recruits don't get fresh with us." If there were more of Harrigan's men down in the town itself, they would have to deal with his wrath and that of the crew. Turning towards the tiny, green whirlwind of death, Beket would crouch down and nod. "You following with Bessie or staying here?" Bleepos was a scary combatant and was useful basically everywhere.

"I'm ready to meet the locals, captain. Rytys will join us when we are outside." The young roc had been circling overhead carefully, waiting for a chance to come down and join them all.

More men assault the fierce druid and Beket's mighty form holds them off, glancing blows bouncing off his thick hide and strong shield. His aggression continues through the onslaught, Bilge Rat being his main focus.

"They yearn to join the Banshee Queen's crew! As if they are worthy!" Beket laughs cruelly as his teeth, tentacles, and club go back to work.

Beket steps closer to the door, entering the threatening reach of the sailor by the door. He lifts his shield, aiming to parry the attack out of the way before attacking with his own strikes. A flurry of club, teeth, and tentacles would lash out.

Seeing the slew of men that still remain, Beket focuses his druidic might once more. Speaking in that strange tongue, his words echo with power. His body ripples as his muscles multiply and grow, adding to his already impressive strength and making the seascarred more abominable. Grinning wide at the sailors and marines, he steps up into the fray.

Casting bull shark's strength and stepping five feet up as long as it is safe to do so with the ice around.

Beket suffers a gash on his arm and there is a rumbling growl for the shapeshifter as he turns his black eyes upon the man. He unleashes all of his fury, attacking with club, teeth, and tentacles.

With no other way to go but the way they came, Beket focuses for a moment and the hazy fog dissipates into nothingness. Readying his shield, he looks to the others.

"We should tie them up. I'll take the lead ahead." Once the group was ready, Beket would make his way towards those stairs and would make his way upstairs towards danger.

No rush on whatever anyone else wants to do, just making it clear I'm good to go :)

Beket hears the sound of footsteps coming from behind and takes a step near the doorway, peering into the crowd that is approaching. The air begins to charge with electricity, his hairs rising as Bessie calls upon her divine connection with the Banshee Queen. Giving a toothy grin, he begins to murmurs as well, his hands wringing through the air as he sways like a drunkard. Pulling out a long strip of seaweed from his component pouch, he whispers a word of power and blows on the dried seaweed. It floats into the room, the dried, green husks disintegrating into a mist that fills the room. The men inside begin to cough and sway, like landlubbers on their first trip across the blue.

"I have weakened them and delayed them." Beket says with a grin, satisfied with his spell's effect.

Beket will cast Cloud of Seasickness into the room. Anyone that starts in or enters the effect must make a Fortitude save versus Beket's spell save DC of 15.

The enemies come pouring in towards them, their blade catching on his shield before he knocks them away. Grinning dangerously, Beket unleashes his full repertoire of teeth, tentacles, and bites upon those closest to him.

Beket's strange and towering form steps into the room, passing by his captain to attack the man beside Orslaw. Muscles rippled under his shapeshifted form as he brought down the club hard upon the man.

Beket watches as the goblin scurries over towards the man before erupting into a flurry of teeth, blade, and violence. It brings a grin to the seascarred's face as he watches the man be taken down with that single strike. Yet even as the body hits the ground, Beket can hear the sound of more threats beyond, the sound of blades leaving sheaths. His imposing figure sways over towards where the goblin was, standing on the opposite side of the door with club, shield, and tentacle in hand.

Beket will take a double move to end up on the other side of the door across from Bleepos

Beket gives a small nod, expecting the worst as they try to make their way out. Whispering another small prayer, the seascarred's club begins to drips with moist water and barnacles grow upon it. Heavier and more dangerous, Beket gives a nod and opens the door quietly to head out.

Going to cast shillelagh and then open the door quietly. Rolling my stealth check now.

Beket waits for the others to climb up the way towards the top, his eyes focused on the cave and what may come from deeper within. When the others have ascended, Beket would begin his own climb up the wall. Using the close walls, he would brace against their slippery sides while his tentacles reached upwards for stronger braces to pull him up by.
