Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle: nope!
Barbo looks at the ground, disappointed he did not get praised for his good deeds. She would be so disappointed. Having invested in book knowledge and lacking a wise spirit, Barbo backs away from the puzzle.
Barbo looks to the thin air with a smile. "Yes, you're a good boy. No, I'm not proud of you! You have to do more than cross a room for that!" He marches towards the next room. Upon approach he points towards the statue and says, "We come with King Gutheran's blessing!" Then he looks to his right and nods. "You know the drill. Fetch the axe. If you're strong enough." He rolls his eyes, doubting it.
Sending the Unseen Servant to go touch the statue and remove the axe.
Barbo shakes his head. Of course I learn the languages of the dwarven enemies but not the dwarves themselves. Next time. He ruffles through his bag and mutters to himself. "Hmmmm... Share languages? Nope, not with statues... Comprehend languages? Won't help the chatterboxes..." He then shouts in a loud voice, in common, "Hello, dear guardians! We travel with King Gutheran’s blessing! So... don't do anything you'll regret!" He chuckles and then slaps his hands together. "Aha! I feel him coming back! Jeeves!" He mutters a magic word, casting Unseen Servant, and an invisible presence snaps into being. "Good! You're back! Slacker, running off at some choking hands!" He mutters something about his old hands then snaps back to the present. "Go over there. No, no reason. Yes, trust me. Totally safe. Good boy. Go." The Unseen Servant runs across the room.
Barbo looks to Edmund and nods. "Yes. The monuments should be grand in their old glory. Let us take many notes. For the society!" He whips out a pad and begins to write furiously while walking behind the group.
Barbo nods. "Agreed. Let's head up." He mentions to the group as they head up the stairs, "I can silence any spellcasters, or calm one of the fighters. If they aren't a dirty cog thing."
Barbo mutters to himself. "This thing won't die..." He twists his fingers and summons a ball of glitter which hits the demon straight in the face! Casting Glitterdust so that it only hits the demon. DC 18 Will Save.
Barbo looks at the creatures with a smile. "Ooh, constructs! So simple-minded. Fun toys, but not fun enemies." He grits his teeth and lobs over a ball of acid at the Clockwork servant.
Barbo holds up his rod and shouts into the still air, "Make Haste, my friends!" He then moves to the back of the group, making room for the fighters.
Casting Haste, lasting for 12 rounds. Hits everyone but the bear and I.
Haste:
When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature’s full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can’t use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)
A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.
All of the hasted creature’s modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject’s normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature’s jumping distance as normal for increased speed.
Barbo looks at the doors dubiously. "No way I can get those open. These muscles weren't strong when I entered the library long ago. The books didn't help them any." He shrugs and makes room for the stronger members, fingering the acid flask in his hand.
Barbo looks at the oozes and shrugs. ”These creatures were not in any of the books I came across. “Curse me and my choice to make a mind-affecting wizard. He pulls back, happy to let them come to the group. He puts his wand away as he does so. Jeeves, slacking again...
Barbo shuffles forward, curse this bumpy floor and these old knees. Why couldn't the library just have been more interesting! and raises his wand. He watches as one wight goes down dead, smiling. "Down, boy. Like your friend." He uses the wand to summon a large patch of Grease beneath the wight's feet.
DC 11 Reflex save or fall prone for the wight. Aiming it to cover just the wight and the spaces behind him.
Barbo pulls a wand from his bag move action with a grimace on his face. Curse Jeeves for dying like that. Tomorrow I will summon him simply to berate him. And to hold my wands. Like a FAITHFUL servant would. He then lazily twists a hand, summoning up a ball of acid to toss at the green wight.
Barbo raises his rod and whispers a few magic words. "Good Hope be to you, friends, against this dark enemy."
Casting Good Hope as a standard action, lasting 12 minutes. Catches everyone but Selune and Kitajo.
Good Hope:
This spell instills powerful hope in the subjects. Each affected creature gains a +2 morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls.
Barbo works his magic, reading the dark words. "Hmmm.. Though unholy, I have no qualms against using this magic. Haste and Prayer. I hate to think of who will answer, but we can try." He looks at the map and thinks. "Perhaps the Seer's district next?"
Thanks for the bots! I think we might be on round four now?
Barbo looks to Jehdahvu with fear in his eyes. ”Friend, can you out the book in a bag? Perhaps if you aren’t touching it the spirits will leave you be. “ He continues to support the earthen man with healing.
Barbo frowns as Jeydahvu reaches for his neck. "Brave man. Very brave. Jeeves could learn a lot from you. Do you need healing? Come over here, I can help."
Happy to heal up that nonlethal if you want. Leave the pretty purple circle and roll your own. I'll subtract the charges.
”JEEVES!”. The samsaran cries out , then is quiet. ”Eh.” He shrugs, giving up on the butler as fast as he summoned him. ”Well, perhaps we have to do this the old fashioned way.”. The wizard moves a little closer and casts Detect magic, holding it for nearly twenty seconds.
Barbo nods at the others’ support and waves his hands. Casting Unseen Servant.. He pauses a moment, staring at the air in front of him. ”Welcome, Jeeves. Now, I have a very important job for you. No, it’s not just holding my wands this time. Yes. That is important.. He points to the tome. ”Fetch. Good boy.”. The slight shimmer in the air moves towards the tome and attempts to pick it up and return it to Barbo.
Barbo looks at Kitajo and smiles. "I agree! We should match!" He takes the offered wand and taps Kitajo once with it. Returning the wand, he twists his own wrist and summons another wand. Tapping it against his chest softly, a thin shield of force covers his body.
He notices the Tome when Smarmy points it out. "I have an invisible friend. Does what I ask. Like a butler! I could summon him and ask him to fetch it. Seems kinda risky to do myself." He looks down at his frail hands. "Ya know?"
I can cast Unseen Servant and have it grab the tome!
Barbo looks at the unconscious duargar for a moment, then goes to strip the bodies. Turning around, he looks in shock at Mun’s Clearly laid out and organized pile of loot. He whispers, ”Huh. Must be getting old. “ He looks over the loot and shakes his head. ” Nothing useful for a wizard like me. I can cast Invisibility twice, those potions could be handy for the rest of us. “
Barbo takes the full force of the energy, growls a little, and turns around. He marches a few feet to get a better view and then tosses another ball of acid at the green duergar.
Barbo pulls a flask of acid from his material's bag, waving his hand in an arcane motion. Summoning a small ball of acid, he tosses it at the western duergar.
Barbo takes a step forward and looks up. He moves a hand to his neck, for support. "Aye, my neck! Dratted duergars keep coming in from my weak spot. Let's all just hurry this up." He waves a hand and you suddenly feel lighter. "Haste", he whispers.
Casting Haste on every ally except Jeydahvu and Kissan.
Haste:
The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.
Barbo turns around at the duergar behind them. "Ooh, shiny!" He casts a spell, Glitterdust, and summons glittering lights in the dwarf's eyes. DC 18 Will save or be blinded. Aiming it at the dwarf and the empty spaces behind him.
The older gent nods. "For knowledge! What else is there in this world but knowledge?" He shrugs, and raises his hands. "And a little bit of coin never hurts! Besides, I spent some time fighting demons in a past life. Or, she did, anyway." He adjusts his toupee and smirks.
An older samsaran man walks in, an awful white wig covering his bald head. A small pet pig waddles in behind him. He walks up to Mun and promptly sticks out his hand. "Hello, there! Do you know what all this hubbub is about? The name is Barbo, by the way." The rod in his other hand appears magical, but might also be a simple walking staff.
For some reason it won't let me post my boon roll in the Discussion tab. Just preview it. But it was an 8, so don't worry about me!.
Barbo turns to the empty air behind him. "Jeeves, my wand. No, not that wand. The other. Incompetent oaf." He plucks one of the wands which has been floating behind, following him, and holds it aloft. "A bit blunt, but sometimes we must be." He lowers his hand and points the wand at the cyclops. He mutters an arcane word and a bolt of energy flies unerringly at the fiend. Magic Missile!
Magic Missile Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Also, I'm now seeing why people don't build illusion-focused wizards. Against this high-will save combat, it's rough going.
