After returning home, Barad plays an elven reed-horn flute for those who wish to listen to a "storied talent" and perhaps drop some coin...

Downtime:
Performance: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
DC 20 (Task Level 5)

Fail = 2sp x 8 = 1.6 gp

Storied Talent Boon:
Word of your skill and expertise is spreading, and you find that increasingly prestigious clients are prepared to pay for your services. When using Downtime to Earn Income, you can choose to attempt a task of your level.

During the rest, Barad would try to tend to Amarie's wounds:

Treat Wounds: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Medicine
2d8 ⇒ (5, 7) = 12 hp

~~~~~
Barad runs up to the closest pathfinder (#6) in the rift and tries to grab hold of them, bodily hauling them out of the area and throwing them eastwards, back to safety.
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
He calls out to the others, nodding towards pathfinder #8, "My armor will slow me down, can anybody get to them?"
(If Barad still has an action after that, he'll move 3 squares (20') diagonally to the northwest)
GM - If Amarie goes down again due to her being ahead of him in the turn order, and if Barad drops the Green enemy with his Power attack, could I change the rest of his turn (in lieu of stepping to his current position) to the following?
(◇) Release one hand from sword.
(◆◆) Administer First Aid to Amarie, DC 18. The d20 Barad rolled for his second (hasted) Strike was a 14. His Medicine is +7, which would be a 21 - enough to stabilize Amarie. Barad always wears healer's tools, so that plus making one hand free meets the requirements.
Thanks very much, and no worries if not!
Letting himself breathe a tiny sigh of relief upon seeing Amarie's eyes open but gritting his teeth when he sees Frogger fall, Barad throws every ounce of energy he has into defeating this unnatural beast, first furiously swinging with a (◆◆) Power Attack as he mutters, "Desna, guide my blade..."
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 16 + 1 = 36 (plus Bless)
Magical Slashing Damage: 3d12 + 4 ⇒ (9, 11, 4) + 4 = 28
Critical: The target is made off-balance by your attack, becoming flat-footed until the start of your next turn.
(If applicable)
Then a followup hasted (◆) Strike:
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword: 1d20 + 16 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (14) + 16 + 1 - 10 = 21 (plus Bless)
Magical Slashing Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (7, 11) + 4 = 22
And a single (◆) Step north.
Fort vs. Green: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 5) = 15 / 2 = 7
14 / 73 hp
If Barad kills the green one with his power attack, he will just take a single step north, staying out of range of red's gaze while lining up to attack it next round.
Aloud, over the din, "Can anyone get to Frogger?"
Should an (↺) Attack of Opportunity arise while Barad is still conscious:
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword: 1d20 + 16 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 16 + 1 = 24 (plus Bless)
Magical Slashing Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11
Seeing allies falling and feeling his own strength failing, Barad thinks quickly to try and stay on his feet to fend off the green hound long enough for the team to take the red one down.
He releases his lower hand from his sword (◇), allowing him to Interact to grab his last (but most powerful) healing potion from his belt (◆), then (assuming he hasn't left himself open to an attack of opportunity), will (◆) drink it:
Moderate Healing Potion: 3d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) + 10 = 24
(28 / 73 hp)
He then Interacts to re-grip (◆) his flamberge, and uses his hasted action to (◆) Strike, calling on nearby Pathfinders to Aid his attack (from our pre-game rewards for a +2) -
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword: 1d20 + 16 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 16 + 1 + 2 = 34 (plus Bless and Aid)
Magical Slashing Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (7, 5) + 4 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 3) = 13 / 2 = 6
He calls out over the din of battle through gritted teeth as Amarie falls, "Frogger, do you still have that healing scroll I gave you? We might need it!"
Barad listens and waits for Amarie, then tries to take advantage of his increased speed to defend the others. He first lashes out with a (◆◆) Power Attack against the Pink hound:
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword Power Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
Magical Slashing Damage: 3d12 + 4 ⇒ (3, 7, 5) + 4 = 19
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword: 1d20 + 16 - 10 ⇒ (15) + 16 - 10 = 21
Magical Slashing Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 = 11
And then a hasted (◆) Strike:
+1 Striking Cold Iron Greatsword: 1d20 + 16 - 10 ⇒ (14) + 16 - 10 = 20
Magical Slashing Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
(On the off-chance that it dies before using all three strikes, Barad will cast Shield with 1 action)
Fort vs. Pink: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
1d8 ⇒ 5 (or 0 if Pink died first)
Fort vs. Green: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Fort vs. Red: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Barad unfortunately still has no way to positively help here beyond untrained flailing, and so remains on-guard for exterior threats.
During the break, Barad would drink another of his Lesser potions:
2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 8) + 5 = 14
Then work on somebody's injuries with Treat Wounds:
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 5) + 5 = 16
(Frogger, Piney, or Avonatha, since Amarie should be at 100% hp)
GM - Amarie drank a potion before the last encounter at the same time Barad did, so I believe you have inaccurate hit points for her at the present time.
For the present issue, however, the young aasimar can do nothing but stand by with sword-in-hand ready in case a threat appears that he has the tools to combat.
Barad grimaces as he takes the hit from the temporal shudder, glancing over his shoulder towards the group. Through gritted teeth, he utters out "Let's cut this thing down so we can protect the rest." as he tries to (◆)(◆)(◆) Strike three times at the enemy in front of him:
-9 hp from the rift.
If time permits, Barad will drink a potion to quickly recover from the cold, and suggest Amarie and the others do the same if the group is being forced to quickly move from the rift to helping Heraxia, who he will also greet in draconic before moving to help.
Mission 1:
Barad is confused at the alien terminology, but one he's clued in that the device will help sustain living beings, he at least has an idea on how to affect repairs:
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Mission 2:
When the time comes for heavy lifting, however, Barad is front-and-center to bear whatever burdens he can shoulder for the others:
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Mission 3:
Following the Venture-Captain's orders, Barad also works to set up a defensive perimeter, moving heavy objects to choke-points and so forth:
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
(If Lore skills are encouraged vs. other skills, Barad can have his expert hireling André Vivèc do Scouting Lore at a +9...so the same as above just -4, each)
---
All - As I am reminded of my dearth of hero points, I noticed that we all have an "aid skill or attack +2" that I don't think anybody has used yet. Wanted to call attention to it, just in case. By that same token, I think we'd all have used our +2 Fort on that last save, or earlier in the adventure...wouldn't have changed my results, though, lol.
3.5 days of being violently sick is no fun, for the record. Looks like I caught a lucky break (timing-wise) for the PbP, though.
Everyone except for Gortek depending on his check from this trap that is.
Does that mean Barad perhaps didn't use all three of his potions? If Frogger posted about group medicine checks, I must have missed it (also didn't realize that we had more than 1 hour for rest or I wouldn't have rolled for all of them).
As for the current trap, it looks like Amarie has dispel magic (only at base level 2, though), if nobody else has an idea?
Barad sighs, gritting his teeth as he sees the dead Pathfinders, but realizes he can't cross the distance to the first creature without exposing himself to being surrounded. "Avenge, but still be careful. I don't want any of you ending up like them."
If it's Athletics, Barad can offer to lead for a "follow the expert" thing. Otherwise, maybe some rope strung between us to help?
The young man takes a breath, not liking what he's seeing, but tries to sound hopeful. "Just one step at a time...careful, everyone."
Barad continues to take a defensive stance, nodding to the others when they're ready to venture into the tunnels, though uncertain as to which direction to select to start.
Just avoid the crit-fails and we can move, albeit really slowly...even Barad has less than a 50/50 at moving half speed in here.
Barad will nod to confirm the translation is accurate. "Apologies, friend Gortek. Yes, I was expressing concern to Lord Coptidel when I followed him into battle on the assumption that he had cause to attack, because I am sworn to protect my fellow Pathfinders, even though I would have preferred, as Lady Avonathalanthalasa does, to find better answers than violence. Also please forgive me for instinctively approaching them in the Elven tongue. After so many years in Kyonin, it is habit."
Barad will secure the red-skinned man such that he will not be a threat, and also check to make sure his injuries are not life-threatening before the group departs.
Back at the staging areas, Barad nods in assent to the Venture-Captain, but then takes a moment to speak in private with the group before we set off on another task.
(Elven) "Lord, you are a holy warrior in service to the Inheritor. The blood that runs through Amarië and my veins is not concentrated enough to tell the goodness or evil of a person at a glance. As such, If you enter into an armed engagement, I will act on the assumption that you are following the ethos of Iomedae. Please take care when deciding to draw your blade that nonviolent options are not still available?"
He also turns to Avonathalanthalasa, (Elven) "and Lady, regardless of how we find ourselves in a contest of arms..." a slight glance towards the paladin for a moment, "your armored protectors would appreciate knowing if you will be a part of the mission or not. Because if the answer is no, perhaps we may better serve your interests by finding you other companions for the duration of these missions?"
GM - Barad would take the attack of opportunity, BUT would rotate his grip to use the flat of the blade, making it a nonlethal attack (so the roll I made for the AoO would be a 26 instead of a 28).
Agreeing in principle with Avonathalanthalasa, even as he trusted the paladin of Iomedae's judgement to start the engagement, Barad will (◇) release one hand from his sword's hilt and attempt to (◆) grapple the red-skinned man, hoping to end this before somebody dies, even as he winces at the slight burn from splashed alchemical fire.
Athletics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 (vs. flat-footed Fortitude DC)
He will attempt to speak in Infernal, wondering if the red skin is some sort of indicator...
(◆) Bon Mot (Linguistic)
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 vs. Will DC (if he understands Infernal, that is, otherwise the action is wasted)
