As the ball of fire continues to burn, Baku mumbles a few words and takes aim. With a flick, he sends a glob of acid at the creature.

Acid Splash, into melee, bless: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 - 4 + 1 = 10
Acid Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Closing his eyes, Baku concentrates for a moment before opening them again with a smile. "Lets just see how you like fire."

A ball of fire suddenly materializes and rolls into the opponents space.

At the sight of Pig moving forward, disciplinary stick in hand, Baku nods. 'So it shall be'

Reaching deep into the spire, he calls forth the magical leylines to strength his resolve.

Eyeing the creature with concern, Baku puts a hand on Herra's wing.

"Let us hold and see how it responds. Perhaps our companions or the Professor can convince it not to fight."

Staying behind his avian companion, Baku follows the others...sliding back into the corner as they approach.

'Best to be behind the Professor. He'll let us know if their is danger'

With but a nod to the beast, Baku falls instead behind the others.

I'm good with letting it live

"Hmmm that thing doesn't seem friendly at all. Any of you think you can reason with it?"

"Perhaps it's here against it's will."

Moving to get a better view, Baku smiles. "Quite a nice piece from the looks of it. Professor, can you tell if it's alive?"

Glancing back at the pieces of machine in the previous room, he shrugs. "You there! Gilded thing, you going to attack us if we get closer?"

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29

"We are ready." announces Baku with a nod to Herra.

"Well...that went better than I expected. From the horror stories I've been told at the lodge, I expected the machines to put up more of a fight."

With a shrug, Baku calls Herra back over and moves to cover the Professor.

Seeing the ease of his companions taking down the foes, Baku hesitates to cast again. "Seems my powerful magics aren't going to be needed here... Herra! Got and assist them!"

Stepping forward, he casts a spell on the professor.

Guidance on Pig

Moving into the room and sliding into the back corner, Baku hesitates. "Anyone know if these beasts have any weaknesses? I hate to use the wrong natural element and give them a boost..."

With a shrug, he whispers a few words and whacks the ground with his staff. A ripple of power shoots forward

"Machines? Never encountered their like before. How do we defeat them or...can we just shut them off?"

Keeping eyes open and ready for a fight, he stays back as well...watching the more stout tread onward.

Baku and Herra quickly move into the throughway but stand back from the spinning platform so they may see both directions.

"Anything Professor?"

Considering the situation for a moment, Baku raises a hand. "On second thought, don't the double doors seem a bit too obvious? That lever we saw before, maybe one of us should go and try it."

"You never know, the Professors dead end may no longer be such a problem...Granted...it could also open a section of wall to hell or something too..."

"Wait...that...that's it?" remarks the druid, a bit disappointed. "All the issues with his neighbors...their dislike...I kind of expected a bit more of a fight."

Shrugging, he points towards the far side of the room. "Double doors over there...I don't see any other doors in here, do you?"

Watching as the cloud erupts, Baku frowns. 'Glad it wasn't me in there! PHEW'

Lobbing a glob of acid at the foe, he moves in closer.

Smiling at Raga, Baku nods. "Yes, the SpireHolders Association has voted you off the island. I suggest you give yourself up before things become more inhospitable."

We have agreed a few times to "Handle" this guy. Just a reminder.

Staying behind the professor, Baku and Herra prepare for the fight to come. Thinking for a moment, he inquires "Is your specialty just in the creation of things? Or is there more to it?"

While the druid and his companion move down the hallway behind Pig, they quietly await a response.

'They going to be able to talk this one down as well? Or is this one gonna insist on a fight?'

Nodding his agreement at the sound advice, Baku and Herra make their way to the corner as Pig tries the hidden door.

"Huh, interesting Pig. You found a secret door to a secret door...wanna try that one two?"

Pausing, to glance around, he holds up a finger. "Should we let Raga check that one real quick?"

Making his way to the doorway, he watches as Pig fumbles with the hidden portal. "You got it? Need help figuring it out?"

Cautiously following the group, Baku stands a few feet back. "So, professor, whatcha see over there?"

otherwise you'll vanish behind it. :-P

Stunned by the development, Baku looks under Herra and glances towards Raga's undercarriage. "I...but....really?"

Blushing, he smiles. "Make no difference to me be you man or woman, just thought...well...the bump....anyway. Glad to have you with us, m'lady."

"So...uh...figure out the levers there? Which one's gonna blow us up?"

Putting an arm out to stop Herra, Baku smiles. "Caution my friend. This companion of ours has proven time and again, it's better to let him take a look before charging in."

With a nod to the furry man, he smiles. "Take your time. We know it's worth it."

I found you Pig! "Brought [you] to Front". ;-)

The other two on the side should be good to go. Adjusted their orders already.

"Yes...you know anything about him?" presses Baku.

After listening to their response, he nods. "Well, thank you for your time. See ya around."

Baku makes his way through the levels as if he owns the place. 'None of these had the power to withstand us. Why shouldn't they bow to our needs.' considers the druid. His mind drifting slowly to the previous lives he's lived and he shrugs. 'I suppose others could say that about me...dieing is not my favorite past time....'

Offering a smile to the water people as he realizes there's no need to be a jerk..., he wishes them luck. "The planes are a fickle place. Be careful in your explorations."

As an afterthought, he adds "Any idea what we should be expecting in the next level?"

No worries Redelia.

"Do what?!" exclaims Baku in surprise. "No! No. Ha ha. We're not going to eat Herra. She's getting ready for a growth spurt. Needs the extra carbs so she doesn't look strange when it hits."

Turning to the avian creature, he gently pats her feathers. "It's ok sweety. You look beautiful."

Stepping inside, Baku nods to the others as he makes his way to the desk. Nervously checking for his name on the parcels, he smiles broadly. "Ah good!"

Ripping the paper open, he tugs a necklace, handband, and belt free. Securing both the headband and belt, he turns to the others. "It's a pleasure to have returned to venture further with you. Professor Pig, as always, glad to see you again."

Pausing, he glances towards the door. "Umm...Herra's put on a pound or two, so please be courteous...she's a little self conscious."

Whistling loudly, he holds the necklace up.

Swept off his feet and dragged along behind Raga, he forces his way back to the group. 'Well...that was unpleasant. Perhaps in my next life I'll learn to swim' he considers as he takes in the discussion.

'I do hope the next level is less wet than this one...'

Nodding to Professor Pig, he smiles. "So, our hope is to make it through the rest of this without disturbing the ladies subjects. Let's do our best to follow her wishes."

"Ack! Hurry guys. We've got to get him out of there!" shrieks Baku as he tries to shove the flaming ball in his hand through the muddy beast.

"Herra, Flank it!" cries out Baku. Lobbing another ball of fire into the mists, he watches as it fizzles against the beast.

"I'm not doing any good from here...let me give you a hand professor." he replies as he moves forward, drawing a club with his free hand.
