Just a heads up Redelia - Herra has picked up 'Bodyguard' and 'In Harm's Way' feats.
Simply put, she can make AoOs when adjacent companions are being attacked to 'Aid Another' on their AC vs the next attack.
Also, she can intercept the attack if she chooses on a successful aid AoO to take the full attack instead of the intended target.
My intention is to use a spoiler for situations where this may arise. Example:
This format work for you? Herra can take up to 4 AoOs per round at this point.

Sounds good. When do you need to pick whether to use these abilities? (i.e. before the attack is rolled, after attack is rolled but before result is announced, after damage is rolled, etc.)

From my understanding being an AoO, it can be decided after the attack is rolled but before the results are known. Kind of hard to do that on PbP. :-P
I have another character with a similar setup for his familiar. The way I've been doing it is simply posting it with my combat post as an 'if they attack' aspect. Similar style to how I've seen the swashbucklers do their parry/riposte stuff.

I'm sorry for the wait, everyone. I had a real life minor crisis for the past 2 weeks which created lots of stress and sleepless nights, and this is at a time when I'm already requiring lots of extra sleep because I'm 4 months pregnant. The worst of it is over, so I should be back to normal posting in a few days, and at least posting some sooner than that. (I need to catch up on some of my more time-critical games first.)

No worries. That's the advantage of PbP. Plus, it's not like I'm in a hurry to use Pig somewhere. He was designed for standard issue dungeon crawling, not Pathfinder investigations. :)

I was in the hospital for several weeks with a dangerous pregnancy complication, and then have been slowly healing at home, while also trying to visit my premature baby in the NICU. I realise that successfully casting defensively prevents an AoO but that’s not what I was talking about. Aryxis readied an Attack if the wizard cast.... which he did. My understanding is that casting defensively does nothing to prevent this.
In any case, it’s irrelevant now. I’m just trying to clarify my understanding for the future.

Casting defensively prevents the AoO, but the caster has to make a caster level check or lose the spell as the trade-off.
A readied action is valid, but it may need to hit? I kind of lost track there it happened so blindingly gut-wrenchingly fast.
Now, preparing an AoO via PlayByPost is Good Practices, imo, especially when dealing with a blind caster that you're standing right next to...

I did misinterpred Aryxis's post, somehow thinking he was posting an AoO if it was triggered rather than a readied action. That attack would have hit (he didn't finish buffing himself because of how things happened), but it wouldn't have changed anything, so I won't retcon things.
