Thing I never knew: these things being large, do I get cover penalties from Cole if I shoot at C2? If the answer is yes, I'll shoot C1 instead.

Without delay and fearing their spores, Ashshar starts drawing and firing arrows as fast as he can.

Using Mythic Rapid Shot with 2 attacks at no penalty and Deadly Aim for a -2
Rapid Shot Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Rapid Shot Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Fortitude: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

So I pretty much go last

Ashshar M,8. Time to try his new bow.

Male Lizardfolk, Humanoid 2 Slayer 4 HP 67/67, AC:17/12/15, Fort:+10/Ref:+6/Will:+3 CMD: 21, Init+2, Perc+11

Ashsar draws his bow and points towards the movement he sensed "More movement, that way."

Been hella busy with the start of classes, sorry. Not that I would have added much because Ashshar is a deeply superstitious individual and dragons fall into more than one category of superstitions

Ashshar's complete silence turns to mind numbing terror as the dragon threathens with slaying the group. When Teprin syggests leaving the lizardfolk sort of awkwardly nods and starts turning, but Nalverren's and Vaard's words freeze him in place.

Only Teprin'sreassurance that there are greener -and less prone to death by dragon- pastures pushes him to start retreating without politely bowing to the angry dragon.

Man, that is cold... Cold as the dead, which is appropiate.

@Aubrey: I have always wanted to play RotR, and both divine and melee are my usual schtick so that's a match made in heaven (pun intended).

Go at it, Aubrey, I hope at least you have some chilling and relaxing and stuff.

Ashshar turned attempting to raise his boe, but the moment he saw the colossal figure he lowered it stuttering. "I... my name... Ashshar..."

Ashshar smiles and nods "Understandable... but I hope not to be considered an outsider forever." he answers before touching the bow on his back "Should we be ready for trouble? I feel at home in the jungle, but here I'm a true outsider "

Regarding the bow, you okay'd my request of it being a +1 Elemental Longbow... but I still need to know the most common element in the city. Otherwise I think I'll go with flaming as the most classic.elemental weapon

Oh boy, I can't wait to get lost so I can show off with my amazing guiding skills!

"Tactile..." says Ashshar as he mkves towards the plate with his hand stretched. "Can you teach us the code? Or is it too difficult?"

Male Lizardfolk, Humanoid 2 Slayer 4 HP 67/67, AC:17/12/15, Fort:+10/Ref:+6/Will:+3 CMD: 21, Init+2, Perc+11

Sorry for my absence, with the times at which you guys sometimes post and the site's wonkiness I've been losing track.
Aaaand spealing of losing and keeping track, which kind of rolls -if at all necessary- would be needed for Ashshar to mentally note down the way back?

The depths were like nothing that Ashshar had seen. The caverns reminded him of his home, like a stoney and mushroomy jungle.

And the same as when back at home, he was completely alert. "Tell me, Teprin... the dangers... were are they? Here? Or deeper? I feel observed, but I'm not used to having a roof over my head constantly... maybe I am only awkward here."

Male Lizardfolk, Humanoid 2 Slayer 4 HP 67/67, AC:17/12/15, Fort:+10/Ref:+6/Will:+3 CMD: 21, Init+2, Perc+11

You guys are giving too much thought to what amounts to a severe case of Jet Lag.

Aubrey:

Just so Aubrey knows, I'll pick the +2 Composite(+5) Longbow as the item we'll get now.
As I totally forgot about said shopping list even when I mentioned possible changes, would it be too bold to ask for the following?: that the +2 becomes +1 Elemental (being the element the one most used/appropiate among the locals) and to add Adaptive to it. I just recently discovered the latter, and can't figure out how did I survive for so long without it.
To compensate the extra 1000 gp unaccounted for previously, I'll substract the Amulet of Natural armor from my list, even if it means losing 1000 total, it'd be worth for Ashshar.

Ashshar shuffles on his feet. Cole's words may be true... but the metallic tone didn't sound completely right to him.

Not much to add, simply excited to explore the depths and probably die alone in the dark!

Male Lizardfolk, Humanoid 2 Slayer 4 HP 67/67, AC:17/12/15, Fort:+10/Ref:+6/Will:+3 CMD: 21, Init+2, Perc+11

Echoing Cole, not ignoring you ST, in fact I'd already considered Ashshar turning more... religious, and I'd always wanted to bond with my fellow scalykin. Two birds, one stone as they say.

Ashshar couldn't grasp the full consequences of what transpired, a divided tribe meant a weakened tribe. He listened to Vaard, curiosity sparked inside his heart, but the turmoil weighted more and he went to sleep... or tried to.

Came morning he greeted the shulassakar "I'll go, too... otherwise we made a huge mistake yesterday..."

By the way, I'll dop the excesive Sthing, I'm relying on phone posting these days and it's quite harder to keep that and check I don't make mistakes this way.

Okay, corrected my serious mistake. Only thing I had to choose was Slayer Talent, for which I took the Rogue Talent Weapon Training and chose Longbow.

So, HP and I can forget the time it skipped my mind I had to level up.
Ashshar's level 6 HP: 1d10 ⇒ 9

Alright, based on the DM and PC input I will tale up the mantle of Vaard. His classes are listed as Humanoid (that's a new one can't find it) 2, Warlord 4, Marshall 1.

Those 2 humanoid levels come from Aubrey using this kind of lizardfolk (I think I got it right, I'd rather have Aubrey explaining the fine details) instead of the ARG one.

Which basically means you have 2 Hit Die worth of being a Lizardfolk, and the other 4 you can play with. So very much like me.

And now comes the weird question... is there any reason I should be one level behind other than the most probable (I f+!#ed up level up when I had to and profile didn't get updated?)? I mean, it's possible I should be one behind... I just don't remember it and had just realised I'm level 5.

First thing first: the following isn't a complaint, Wultram's RP seems on point to me and I'm just a bit unsure on how to proceed.

Thing is, I don't think Ashshar would like ti abandon his friends -specially Cole since he last hitted Kalaktua- but he surely would not leave without learning more about the prophecy or what the Council has to say.

Sooo, I don't know what the f%%~ should I do.

"I will take the oath." says the lizarsfolk after the messenger has finished "And another warrior never harmsss a tribe."

When Wultram vouces his opinions, Ashshar turns confused "But Wultram, it'ss a warden not a sspy. Missed the update, sorry

Ashshar bows his head and greets the others before sitting on a chair.
"The wardersss were following me during my walk, ssso I assked to bring me to the High Warden."

The lizardfolk plays with his claws on the table as he decides how to proceed with the next part. "I apologized, becausse I think we have acted wrongly with ssome of them that weren't ressponsible for bringing usss here. The Wardenss are allied with the Chamber and the Gatekeeperss, but they aren't the sssame."

Ashshar allows the others to express their opinions before continuing "The High Warden wass headed to a meeting with them and allowrd me to accompany her. Aubrey:

The lizardfolk nods, smiles and bows "I appreciate it, Chief Eyalteph, and I hope the Great Ssserpent protectsss and guidess you in thisss and any battle to come. If you ever need an outsider'ssss help you can count on me."

Having bid farewell to the High Warden, Ashshar turns and heads to the accommodations.

"I can only ssspeak for mysself, but the way we were brought here wassn't completely honesst. Well, I had a hell of a lot to read. I'm glad Ashshar still feels a bit like an outsider because he would have not spoken his discrepances out loud mostly because he would fear feeling even more outsidery

Ashshar shuffled on his feet. A lot. During the chat with the guard and specially during the tense dialogue with the Warden.
As the group reaches their quarters, he finally has the courage to speak "I come from a sssmall tribe, with few rulesss... but thossse rulesss are indeed important and we learn sssince we are mere hatchlingsss to obey them... that'sss why I believe the Warden wasss right to deny usss accesss." the lizardfolk sits before continuing "I don't like how they brought usss here, but ass Nalverren ssaid it'sss a separate matter from usss walking the tunnelsss. We have argued and confronted them, that the Flame chosse uss meansss little if we appear hosstile... and will only make them control usss even more. I wisssh not to be controlled, nor to make enemiesss of our posssible alliess..."

After he says his part, Ashshar bids the others farewell and decides to follow Rehil's example by going for a walk to think about his weight on the prophecy and how to ammend the initial hostilities with both the Council and the Wardens.

As the instructor asks and his partners answer, the lizardfolk thinks for a second before speaking "I... I have never been taught how to fight. I'm a hunter, ssskilled with bow and sspear, with claw and maw... but I don't know better."

"If we are to protect people and fight monssstersss, I want to be capable of fighting like a warrior but I alsso want to know ass much ass a warrior sshould know."

I got a preemptive list, pending Aubrey's approval regarding 'high priced' items.

And could someone dumb down to me the explanation regaeding Nalv's essence and all that gobshite. Perhaps I fail to understand it properly because I am not a native speaker or perhaps I'm dumb, who knows.

Shopping:

Ashshar current inventory:
Items priced in negative are the ones to be sold, already half-priced

MWK Hunting Lance(Halberd), 310
MWK Morningstar, 308
*MWK Composite +2 Longbow, -300
20 Arrows, 10
10 +1 Arrows, -200
*MWK Chain shirt, -125
MWK Heavy Wooden Shield, 157
10 Javelins, -5
2xPotion of CLW, 100
Potion of CSW, 750
Potion of Bear's Endurance, 300
2xOil of Magic Weapon, 100

Math: 33000-310-308+300-50+200+125-157+5-100-750-300-100

Ashshar's to buy list:
Available gold: 31555
+2 Composite +5 Longbow, 8900
Upgrade Halberd to +2, 8000
+2 Kalaktua Breastplate, 4150
Belt of Giant Strength, 4000
Cloak of Resistance +2, 4000
Amulet of Natural Armor +1, 2000

Remaining gold: 505

Ashshar is a simple scalyman with simple desires: bigger weapons, thicker armor and a fancy hunter's cloak.

That said I gotta run the numbers to see how my to hit with bow ends being, because as others pointed out Ashshar is a switch-hitter and I wouldn't like to end being a warning shot firing switch hitter.

Also, would a +3 weapon be unobtainable? I may move things around to get a +3 longbow. And keep in mind that even if I wrote +2 halberd and longbow, it may end being +1 keen or flaming or whatever I think that fits the theme nice.

Finally, I might be wrong but regarsing exp I got 16,872 after Kalaktua, 17557 after the huge fishes and that would put us at 18057 after the meeting. Anyone has input as to who f*##ed up the math?

Male Lizardfolk, Humanoid 2 Slayer 4 HP 67/67, AC:17/12/15, Fort:+10/Ref:+6/Will:+3 CMD: 21, Init+2, Perc+11

Ashshar kept his fangs shut during the whole meeting, briefing and arguing.

The others were, perhaps, too focused on their own debate to notice it but his silence wasn't born from his usual distrust of civilization nor from his shyness.

He was fascinated by the 'serpentfolk' and later on by the actual dragon. A dragon that decided he and the others were so important as to betray his facade and show himself as he truly was.

Ashshar fondly remembered the tribe's stories of legendary hunters, chiefs and warriors. All of them paled in comparison with the bigger picture that the Chamber members presented them.

As the group gathered again, the lizardfolk stood ever silent, deep inside his introspection. That's it, until he spoke.

"I will help them." he atarted, his words trembling "They... they may have betrayed our trusst, and I don't think they told uss everything there iss... but I will help them."

"I am not a hero like Cole Bane of the Devourer and neither I am intelligent like Nalverren or Wultram... but I will help them anyway becaussse I can't return to my tribe knowing I could help sssave the world and refussed becaussse I wass treated wrongly. The deception paless in comparisson with the importance of the tassk."

"I will help them..." he finishes, moatly to himself.

I have finally caught up. In the end it had been 88 posts which I thought shortish but were long as all hell. Once again sorry for my absence

The lizardfolk with the spears steps forward, in front of the chair he has chosen. He braces the spear with both hands and attempts to bow in respect "I am Ashshar of the River Sserpent... a hunter and a chossen one."

Happy with himself, the lizardfolk quickly sits to shift the attention to the others.

Ashshar places his bow and quiver, as well as the shield and morningstar, with his backpack at the room.

The lizardfolk considers leaving his hunting spear before turning to the serpentfolk "I don't want to be rude or threatening, but thiss sspear iss a ssymbol of my tribe and I dessire to carry it with me." he explains.

Ashshar, having heard Wultram's words, once again turns to Vaard. The other lizardfolk he could comprehend as he was one of his kin.

The humans and derivatives? Not even partially.

Shrugging, the hunter only said "I don't like thiss... may the ancesstorss provide inssight, but I fear they wouldn't undersstand thiss either."

Little trick Rehil: you don't need to be philosophically inclined when everything around you is alien, puzzling and confusing at the same time.

The lizardfolk keeps his distance from the group as Rehil speaks, though he pays attention to the conversation, and only after thtthatey finish that he chimes in speaking in barely a whisper "I... I don't know ass much ass you of Bokhen or hiss motivess. Honesstly, your culture and all of thiss sseemsss to me ass ssstrange ass a fisssh flying." the lizardfolk pauses to look at Cole "But you helped my people even when your livess where at rissk and I will follow you to death if need be."

Ashshar has been silent during the travel down the river. The last weeks had been a constant surprise after the other, and the idea that he had an important role to play on the world's destiny was too huge to swallow it at once.

And then there were the airships. Having seen them once, being so close to one made his scales shiver.

The lizardfolk walked close to Vaard and commented "If the humansss can build thesse marvelouss thingsss... learning from then can sssave our people." with hope filling his words.

I wouldn't like to be greedy and request two +1 weapons, as Ashshar is a switch hitter, but if possible by all means it would be nice.

Failing that the bow probably would benefit more from being +1.

The rest of the items don't fit any of Ashsar schticks, so essence or selling sounds actually nice.

And regarding the mighty ring of protection, whoever tends to get beaten the most should wear it, which I think is Cole.
