Aquavius has a Swim speed, and she has a +13 Swim check (+14 with the Raging Song). So she'll take 10, if that's allowed. Aquavius sees the telltale ball of flame appear in the woman's palm. This is it, ol' Pirate Queen. I'm coming to you burnt to a crisp! Only for the fire to poof. "Huh? Who did that? Candledark, you gotta teach me that-" A familiar sound overtakes Aquavius's voice and thoughts. The ocean comes to swallow everyone. "One hell of a grave, eh?" She winks at the fireballer before diving in.

Whoever this lady is, she has orders to stop anyone escaping the blockade. "Oi. What's gonna happen to us, here? Stuck in some gulag for the rest of our lives? Conscripted into service? Or hung every day for the rest of time? You better have a good offer. Because killing us here means you go down with the ship, too." Oof. Looks like she's asking for our surrender, and will torch us if we don't comply. Aquavius would rather die than be captured, but we're out of options here. Does anyone have some way to stall for time here, to trick her or something from not torching us? Otherwise I think we gotta surrender and fail the mission.

Yeah, everyone ran into fireball formation to kill the brainslug (except the VIP, who ran up to the brain slug to avoid fireball formation...) But I forgot about the Inspired Rage's Con bonus, so Aiden wasn't KOed (and brainslug food), so we ran forward for nothing. 6d6 averages to 21 damage, but that's not really helping here. IF I save, I'm at -11 and bleeding out. If I fail the save I die. Not much we can do here besides hope the fireball rolls poorly for damage, or she's out of level 3 spells and can only kill one of us.

Unfortunately, this is a cramped room, so we should melee her. I say the Son of Cayden channels once to keep us alive just in case I'm KOed, and then 575, Aiden and myself play Rock em Sock em robots with this lady in the corner of the ship. Anyone who is unconscious accepts my Raging Song automatically. This may boost their Con and may give them the HP to stay conscious. Huh, Sudden Barbarian Death Syndrome is even more dangerous than I thought. I didn't think about that until I made a Skald, haha.

Oof, this is a tough encounter. I'm gonna try to save Aiden's brain, but this makes me the next priority target for everyone's favorite arsonist. And then the brain slug gets 2 targets to feast upon. We gotta corner that caster and pop those mirror images ASAP. I'm assuming the water is shallow enough our movement isn't impeded.

She begins her inspired rage. Inspired Rage: Inspired Rage (Su) Affected allies gain a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC.
